younan berlin so i am really looking forward to being on tour again with my new programs as you have already seen we have strengthened the balls a bit with a beard finally and of course support a symphony orchestra for those who are there for the first time in the evening it will be a very easy one event with the rather colorful mix of different music styles that was just the beginning of my range menzi the film music for curse of the caribbean it continues with a cut from the english rock band green and it is really our dream of me to have that before such a wonderful for to play you i now present back advertising from queen one of my favorite words from the oecd is die kameras here i have tried to work on the most beautiful themes of georges bizet's opera carmen whereby the spanish traditional flamenco music was inspiration for me tonight finally the appropriate orchestra so as not to support in my bed n and I want to play now German my campaign j is on the guitar, the China take even a classical composers the I halt in my life has inspired the most is johann sebastian bach I think the beauty of music is easy to interpret i the biggest challenge of every musician on board is to show you how wonderful bach music works with modern elements i have rewrote a piece of it a bit, namely the famous air von bach and i want to play it for you now, thank you, thank you very much yes that the next track i went to an open air festival near london last year as usual it rained there and despite a covered stage i really thought of quitting because so much winter but i didn't want to damage the violin and me was lucky in the first row sat an older lady with an umbrella came up to me on the stage and held it to me Umbrella me and my violin that was pretty good because I was able to play the concert to the end after the group hit a little briefly she said to me year she didn't want my hair to get wet so my hair was the last thing At that moment, I thought it was about the violin, well, brahms is no longer a late romantic per se and I think the next piece of what your playing is a wonderful example is passionate and romantic music, we have arranged it a bit back into the original folkloric form and we stand for you now with hungarian dance number 5 by johannes brahms lilac so since my childhood i have been a huge fan of charlie chaplin filming what not many people know is that charlie chaplin was a pretty good violinist, although wrongly understood so to the left as I don't know how to bring out a need but he got him and also a very, very good knockout mponist and wrote the soundtrack for many of his films, including for the film modern times you probably all know and the soundtrack that i now play the hot meyer and it is written by charlie chaplin many thanks so i plugged in spring classics on the last tour die gypsy wise that happened before the spanish virtuoso cardboard nose i would like to take the opportunity this evening to use another piece by sarah side to present this work for die gypsy wise i have quite technically demanding so double handles left you have planned right hand pizzicati and so on put runners up and down and so that you can paint from my class perspective no that is of course everything is planned for me to do the laundry yesterday so so that you can say that from my cash register that we have a small camera organized tonight I cut myself on the head looks super cool us dollars well anyway so everything looks that from my perspective and we stand for you a piece of matter says that means sabathia have fun the next piece i wrote last year in winter in new york when it was freezing cold outside the tram including a break completely Snowy traffic totally paralyzed except for a few crazy people they usually go to nightclubs and bars with cross-country skis I said no, you prefer to work now the financial piano you write good things just as a piece was created I have myself there it was later in the evening but decided to give out my cross-country skis from the closet but still that evening i wrote this piece that i want to play for you and it says nina men have politics as well as in berlin here it is when i go in the evening in the years I want to go out, it can happen that we come to my apartment late at night g you don't end up being challenged to the most diverse pop and rock pieces to improvise something is usually the rodents of my neighbors want to sleep at five in the morning of course the next piece was made a year ago as if I asked work not quite sure whether it works at all I would have tried it first and yes my friends convinced me then my that's really a great story so one year later I'm only standing here with thousands of people in the tempodrom in Berlin and I can only hope that my friends were right back then continue with the classic a classic and that in new york no I don't want to play anything for you the csárdás by vittorio monti i would like to take the opportunity now of course to put my books in their entirety, john at the piano, many thanks to george church in the wake and of course frankfurter hold the podium and the new philharmonie frankfurt as an orchestra the night in al so i like to remember my first apartment in new york i had just finished my studies and like every student was looking for a nice apartment but of course as cheap as possible and then after a few weeks thank god I found it near hell's that was the kitchen in midtown manhattan the only disadvantage was there was a small system and only a very small window in the bathroom that could only be tilted so with a lot of light and air there was no go but is i want the only disadvantage was two months later the summer finds a bio we had temperatures of 40 degrees outside which meant i had temperatures of 45 degrees in my apartment the only thing i could do in the exercises at home not have the refrigerator on the power clear the head not cover for 85 then I became really aware of the apartment so cheap on the market why am I telling you that we are now playing summertime by george bush no Today we have a very young guitarist who plays fantasies, I met him for the first time, but immediately felt so good that I said come back you surely haven't played before we are two and a half thousand people because that means The closeness actually only for dates as predicted. Let's change that. Now we play for you in july they had pink that is today, comrade so next let's try to imagine that we are not romping at the pace in berlin but in a small greek tavern around the corner we already have one or the other user in shot and we are now playing this piece for you so we wanted the next piece to be a little quieter again and although i wrote that for a former friend of mine in new york it didn't should be that it says nice and she has scratched my heart a bit and so a little bit of soul I have with this piece he thank you for the support yes yes yes I wrote something positive and yes, yes, I would like to play something by johann sebastian bach in the original version from the second and honest concert in e major, the third movement, thank you, now we’re doing a bit of it again a little bigger leap into the musical uncertainties you don't know all of this, it doesn't have to be any different , we'll be with the next piece and indeed paganini is a term for at least most of them and after 200 years it is pretty much the most difficult thing there is actually literature and if the trademark was a bit of a variation to write but a fairly simple but fairly well-known people mostly see and 1 you want to present yourselves and I found two talented guitarists in berlin and they want to help out a bit today evening here we have to i met you beforehand we have to do this a little first n study so I hope you have brought some time with you so on 11 23 of this you can now 28 do all of these more precisely without me you can see how land I am yes I should actually be in the middle of my preparations for the next classic CD which I also do I take it and then I don't take the trains at all or the date is already fixed. These months are I don't have time to do anything so I thought that I would practice something new on the stage and now I will present a new ranking of myself that the cd is coming and that is from the wonderful a wonderful anton dvorak the high risks because the picture is in the last sentence of natural the waiting times the summer yes i have a lot of young people in the audience many many children us for you i now have specially prepared something as a child i really enjoyed watching disney strips and one of my favorite books was aladin and you can now feel the soundtrack of that and if she has a lighter with her, I have to be seen today I have to do some things that I play and it was an evening full of wakefulness I would like to do something solo from Bach players the solo senate I'm not quite sure what but that I think about it again because I wasn't seriously prepared for that, that's really spontaneous here I do whatever the sarabande from the second game has yeah , everyone's right, so it was definitely something completely new, of course I'm not necessarily used to classical musician to play in front of more than 3000 people the tempodrom was certainly the one in teams of the atmosphere but we also had quite large halls with us in munich olympiahalle color line arena lanxess arena in cologne it was all very overwhelming so a few seconds before i went on stage before the performance then i have to pull myself together a bit and take a deep breath But the moment you have the musicians behind you of course and you see the people with whom I have worked for years and then you stand on the stage in front of 80,000 people then you relax very quickly the only thing that was of course a little difficult In some halls, of course, the steps over 150 were partly and I had to find them practically in the semi- darkness and of course calvin played parried and I have to say that was a challenge because not to stumble and to screw up the first appearance quite a bit and of course the violin we won't be found there either, as with got away, I grew up with rock'n roll shows and accordingly, of course, I also tried the concept of this show a little bit more rock'n'roll to do the first piece that means simply marching one such a big hall that was n't just a little bit more exciting than just being on stage you can move on stage you can move me to the music but for me it is very important if the movement somehow prevents the game from doing it, of course, so there I am, because I already have it seen with colleagues who move a lot and then the floor starts to shake so that here this the bow the intonation the technology that must always be one hundred percent of course you can move but only provided that the sound does not suffer a percent That is very, very important to me because it is also the movement and I make in a certain way then of course they come from the inside but in a certain way I am also aware of how much you can move so for example now backwards side will be difficult because then the arch would move a bit from the side so i would refrain from doing that so more time is in any case an idea first to develop a concept a program where I say it is varied enough that is interesting then the second stage is of course because I would like to have new surprises at these concerts, of course, the things have to be rearranged, and sometimes the things from the cd from album rearranged so that they get a new perspective for the audience and of course also the classical stuff I would say the classical stuff is the easiest because of course i grew up with it but of course only a little bit smaller part of the show the most difficult part is of course To rearrange the existing things and the new material whatever I put into the tour and of course you have to expect a couple of weeks and then of course rehearse with the guys a few weeks before we start with the orchestra and the rehearsals with the orchestra are actually not that much easily two days you have to count on it i have to honestly say that of course i didn't know exactly what kind of audience to expect i of course saw that the album sells them wonderfully but who is actually buying the cd now who actually comes to the The concerts for the tour and I was actually overjoyed to see that is really such a wide spectrum of young and old people who really just live and love music the way I do and just want to have a good time at a high level and that has I was really excited to look into the audience would not have played that is always important to me so I believe that of course the people come who might have bought the cd , maybe also people who do not have the cd and me especially for those who I want to know solid material that also gives the material to those who also challenge the problem also other sacs hen to hear that is why there are always many classical pieces, possibly rearranged, but I always want to introduce new material that is a wonderful opportunity for me to really get an audience that may never have been before a classical concert and I let them have this opportunity I do not mind that I also install pieces that are not on the cd but that mean a lot to me and that I can then introduce to this new audience is also a bit of a responsibility that I bear so for me it was always very clear that that The problem with classical music The least thing to do with classical music is the way in which something is presented and I know very well that since I was 16-17 years old, I've always liked to play for people who haven't played anything at all the music to do have just tested what is the reason that such difficulties there is such a limitation and what mi noticed r is the classical music actually wonderful even in young people will only see them get to hear whether it is to watch TV but also experience how it is presented on the radio and in concert halls is so far away from what actually every day the cloakroom that you can see for the fact that I don't think you develop a connection as a youth to the music and I think that's a shame because the music itself is timeless let 700 and hendrik are of course the two bands that come into question most for me so the chemical dealer is of course fantastic guitarist jimmy page of course accordingly i always orientate myself towards the people who master really fantastic instruments because that is also fascinating for me to watch and listen to someone who really finds something new in the instrument and that’s me too looking somehow good the violin is now over 300 years re old but i always have the feeling i know how to breathe new sounds, so to speak, and that's the task that i really try to move away from the lake with classic things that are usually played on it and just something completely different I want to start with that, so I'm just someone who listens to everything, so I prefer to listen to the radio because I think that especially on the radio you are sometimes forced to listen to things that you might not even want to listen to and then you hear something you like and you don't have these prejudices either if you somehow have to buy a cd or look for cds on the internet insofar as my favorite media is me it's radio i'm sitting in the car then it always switches until i find something i like i maybe get some inspiration for any new thing that you are what I'm working on the bad is actually the nicer the hotel rooms get the nicer the service the more depressing it is when you have to do it on your own that is very clear if you are going to sit here I see now for this wonderful breakfast alone in a large room and nobody is there is actually terrible as well having a bad day takes you with a good day, of course I praise but that can sometimes turn into the opposite music is really 24 hours in me even when I go to sleep at night all the things that I may have prepared during the day that can sometimes be being a bit tormented because of course I can still switch off and a job but that is really something that works in me for 24 hours so I already have before while you have to have an incredible amount of discipline on the other hand you can see it even if you can see that you get from a to b, that you rehearse something new, that you have new ideas that is very, very important But for me it of course means that I only work when I have the time at least five six hours a day, that is also compulsory events, that you work three four hours just because of that, so that your fingers when you play technically demanding things that run absolutely precisely this fine motor skills may not be so necessarily now with the piano and the guitar because we don't because they don't have to struggle with information we really have to as 3 so that instrumentalists with the string instrument, whether it is with cello over the violin or a double bass We really have these distances, yes, I really have to demonstrate that sometimes, so the violin is an instrument that can sound incredibly deep if you don't hit the right key , I wanted to say the right key, but especially when you play the difficult things, so I'll do myself now an easy example if you are now looking at a piece by bach ni mmt you have to work and hit the notes yourself if I now how can you explain it somehow so I am not there every day would invest five six hours that would sound like that because you can make the notes incredibly hits them either and beautiful and makes a nice expectation over it or does not meet and then it sounded terribly terrible and this fine motor skills that you then have to really practice and practice every day and if you miss two or three days then unfortunately it doesn't work anymore that means I never have the kind of relaxation that maybe someone who has a normal job says weekend now I really switch off and now I do something completely different and I forget everything else I just can't afford if I do would go on vacation then i would really have to reckon with a three week break and then i need another three four weeks to then go back to be able to play exactly these things correctly and that is of course pretty hard at the moment in the ski duel, but I'll somehow push through that when I was twelve, I got a contract with the record company, although all of them were pushed a bit by my parents, of course, that has to be retrospective say and there were huge expectations to play with the great musicians conductors the repertoire avenges having to prepare in time to record cds and then compete with the great ones at the age I would say I did not suffer from it but there was that was also very difficult for me because I didn't have a permanent teacher in the sense that I had bought a bit through this thing but it was my parents and they weren't professional musicians so it was difficult, very difficult there giulia has really laid back and has been very easy to me an incredible amount of fun I had end Even people of the same age had the same dreams around me that was a great motivation, especially because I didn't only have private life in school and also never had this interpersonal contact with my generation before, insofar as york was my first decision about my parents and i believe that the most important decision in my life too and from then on i really had to stand on my own two feet july as cool is my hardest and getting to the universities at all you still think before harvard university and it's the art academy so you can compare the book to express it in german there are three divisions that is, on the one hand, drama and then, on the other hand, dance that can be me yesterday that no ballet chooses its direction or is a student and of course music and these three forms of art are therefore all questions under one roof up there agreed the 24 days, I usually have co and we have Again, less you ring the doorbell day in and day out and for four years we did it and pulled it through and then hopefully you get the qualification then you have survived yes, I have already brought back memories a little bit by listening to the edition with the camera has a little bit of basic data and interesting things just so that at home you also notice a little bit how everything went off as an orchestra was never a greeting because of because I got into my hair there too The story with the administration is we are happy I always arrived on time, but not as punctual as they wanted, so I walked in when they agreed and they wanted me, of course, that I never had one before that note missed the concert but secondly on the last minute and then I always clicked warnings and at some point we wait as o I really broke my collar and then I just complained to neighbors but not with words we were rehearsing but I had scribbled the notes in relative, I always his suggestive things to the administration of the orchestra management, now I have quite rough slogans Of course, in my naivete, I didn't think that you would get the sheet music from the library and after the concert you land back in the library and of course you would look through that somehow you weren't pushing too many fingers and that the sheet music didn't start, at least it was It was just that the natural found out who was from the federal government and, as I said, my colleague did not defend me, of course, but said directly, yes, that was probably Mr. Garrett who scribbled these dirty things in and was at the moment I break through the orchestra management pretty much down because they have a lot of fat Well, at least after that I didn't have a conscience in the orchestra until the end of the julien school.I can honestly say my parents were absolutely against it.I had to visit my brother, so a brother Alexander, who was studying in Boston at the time, would have to visit this one used time at a julius kuhl and to do it that was compulsory because i couldn't avoid it then in the deepest snow i still let myself go this bus shuttle bus from boston down to new york then took a taxi The deepest snow we drove to 66 and ran out I almost missed my mission and then auditioned for permanent and of course for the other people on the committee who only have to accept here they all said where I was the jewish ones back then I did it when I was 18 19 years old and listened to it and thought it was good, thank god and then, as I said, the final k there were also concerts in this hall and that has the whole story as necessary, all students are allowed to be there, she's very special, she doesn't always say pressure reforms, but I think if you've played here in front of about 400 students who all want to be gaga then it is you are less nervous at all the other concerts that i can really stand as i said i am actually allowed to swim but i thought this is an important part of my life so i just have to use the camera in schools i have new york whether it works in the library or on It was wonderful, but it was always in the evening or early in the morning and it was that constant because every day five times a week I don't know I could n't do anything I probably need then somehow for me it would probably not be but I really admire the people but I envy these people that they can do that because they have these holidays. I don't have a weekend f I have to work on holidays. Vacation is not compulsory and that's really the case, of course, then say shit again, I would also like to have a calendar like this, so that was by far the beginning of myself that spoke musically, so that was back then I didn't make a decision that I would like to make music professionally but also my way of doing it and then I had to start all over again and these mistakes that I have made here are certainly among the most difficult answers third floor units green that was basically always the place where we also did christa rehearsals that means symphony concert opera performances were all rehearsed here i might show you the big hall again but the third floor was never really where you lingered a lot because however I see it in the next room it was him for the balleri nas been kevin kline a bit actors have been here but both stopped by the musicians there was once from peymann so far bad moment there you can get a whole list, it is probably the list shorter of those who have not been here always a play in front of them teaching hours and there are at no proper rehearsal room so what I did I did I then always in the broom chamber gabriel so I so I was here real nerd moderate it, so to speak, I had then more perfection and also have teaching and when she was a lower lesson, as I said, it was very, very important for me that I was always musically convincing and then I just formed this one with the smell that we never forget that was somehow a mixture of master proper and somehow limestone cleaner but the nice thing about the really great musicians is that at least for me what you said that they actually said very little t and what you said was of course incredibly relevant, but the basic statement with all the people, whether you reported as an external hermann or manual or trader, was really that of course sees what things have been corrected but you spurred me on yourself to find me do n't copy things don't listen to cds don't orientate yourself with other people but orient yourself with yourself finding what is of course in line with finding your own sound with the manuscript on the other side, your own interpretation of the piece Because unfortunately there are so many musicians who all sound the same and that is also a bit of the problem nowadays because of course there is not even this Russian school in the sense of the American school everything is a bit leveled out there and I would once Saying 100 violinists can unfortunately be heard from god 90 95 can no longer be undermined In the past it was a bit easier with a cheerful 1 mm 1 Franziska scissors, they all had their own sound and that is unfortunately not the case nowadays and the big galleries miss that of course and that's why you can also say that by markus kuhl messe dass wir ganz ganz wichtig dass so was wieder zurückkommt weil heutzutage wirklich zu viel kopiert wird zuviel ja auch fehlerfrei gespielt gespielt wird dass das auch etwas was ich natürlich viele studenten total die falsche richtung begeben denn es liegt es wird mehr wert darauf gelegt ohne fehler zu spielen als die musik wirklich zu sich selber zu verwirklichen dabei es ist alles sehr perfektionistisch geworden und liegt natürlich auch ein bisschen an der art und weise wie musik heutzutage und künstler heutzutage präsentiert werden es muss alles fehlerfrei sein und das hat wenig mit musik zu tun es ist natürlich ganz klar dass man das handwerk 100 prozent erstmal technisch war das ist alles ein wandfrei ist aber es darf natürlich auch nicht nur der schwerpunkt in der technik liegen also das ist ganz ganz wichtig ein paar meinungen die haben alle größte technik gehabt und ich lege auch sehr viel wert darauf das ist der der der ausgangspunkt darüber müssen wir uns gar nicht lieber unterhalten wenn man sich anschaut welche leute permanent errichtet der würde sich nie eine minute zeit nehmen in denen zu erklären wie man jetzt ein pagani caprice spielt das davon geht er aus dass die leute das können und das ist ich habe 2001 bei ihm angefangen und ich habe das drag gemerkt technische schwierigkeiten da es nicht geben und die sind auch selber zu lösen und da habe ich gott sei dank auch immer schon als kind sehr sehr viel gearbeitet und sie fahren war das nie ein problem für mich gewesen aber gerade die die lehrer die ich gehabt haben haben sich nie zeit dafür genommen irgendwas technisch zu erklären dass king direkt und die musik und wenn ich irgendwie was ja technischen schwierigk eiten gehabt habe wurde das einfach ignorierten gesagt mach das mal selber und lernen dass man kommt da mal wieder wenn das richtig ist also s technik ist wirklich eine voraussetzung dass man hier ohne hürde richtig guten musizieren kann also davon gehen all die großen lehrern musiker aus dass das wirklich da ist entweder man kann spielen und man kann nicht spielen wenn man spielen kann und da hält man sich um die musik ich glaube ein sechstel hat das am natürlich sind erklären können in dem sinne dass er einfach wirklich mir geraten hat auch immer viele sänger mehr anzuhören also das war für ihn ganz ganz klar das instrument ist eigentlich unnatürlich in den sinn und man muss sich an dem orientieren was was natürlich ist die großen sänger also zum beispiel fischer dieskau richard rau war ganz ganz fantastischer tenor also die ganz ganz großen sänger habe ich mir dann halt schon bald nieder also das angehört wo von der natur der stimme eigentlich gegeben ist wie man etwas passieren mus s auch auf dem instrument wir kopieren ja eigentlich mit allen instrumenten die wir haben eigentlich das was ich will jetzt nicht religiös anhören aber eigentlich das was gott eigentlich gegeben hat in der stimme dass es wird halt nur auf dem instrument kopiert und natürlich mit der geige deswegen liebe ich das instrument zu sehr habe ich diese ganzen möglichkeiten von bariton bis zu plan- und dementsprechend natürlich dass mein lieblingsinstrument von anfang an gewesen new york balanciert mich dann doch auch aus also inspiration gleich nicht nur aber auch zum großen teil nichts war mir ganz ganz wichtig gewesen als ich diese wohnung jetzt vor knapp zwei jahren zur miete gezogen habe und wie man auch schön sieht man nicht man jetzt hier nicht es ist natürlich etwas ganz tolles morgens um 6.30 von der sonne geweckt zu werden und das war so ein bisschen wie als ganz ganz tolles angebot hier an konzerten veranstaltungen an jahren als musiker also das level an musikern vergleich mit andere n städten ist das schon sehr sehr schwierig heranzukommen willkommen zur doppel golf sei denn es gibt ja für zwei alten von alvin drew und heute abend nicht so oft in diesen zeiten gibt es das ja ich glaube ich konnte endlich seine nach der wahren der musik zusammen mit dem größten konzertveranstalter beobachte de an und ich freue mich auf jahre hier begrüßen zu dürfen dies beginne mason flüge ist das herz des services ist für den skisport istanbul war das jetzt realität des landes mit und möglichst aber in die maschen autos in germany hat die chirurgie werk ist extrem ein ganz ganz großer applaus und großen künstler auch die so strotzen applaus da sind viele weltstars wie dem vorjahr ist das gefühl um das nächste album was rauskommt ist etwas ganz anderes aber auch wieder dasselbe reise muss ich ein bisschen erklären und zwar haben wir es war wirklich ein bedürfnis gewesen ein klassisches violinkonzert zu spielen das ist mendelssohn jahr momentan und deswegen habe ich mir dass manager im juli ein konzert ausgesucht was wir nicht eines der schönsten wir dem konzert überhaupt ist und das habe ich zusammen gepaart mit ein paar sachen die ihr vielleicht schon kennt zum beispiel die salate zigeunerweisen sich bei der ersten tour im letzten jahr gespielt habe das allerdings mit orchester arrangiert und ich hab natürlich auch die möglichkeit nicht nehmen lassen 67 kleinere stücke für sinfonieorchester zu arrangieren die es so noch nicht gegeben hat die geige und da ist was von rachmaninow von schubert von dvorak von tschaikowsky also es wird eine sehr romantische cd und aber sehr schön und auch mit viel pfeffer drin also ich hoffe es wird euch gefallen also ich habe sicherlich eine sehr gute fantasie aber das ist sehr schwierig sich so was irgendwie natürlich vorzustellen also der generelle gedanke natürlich musik zu machen musik für ein publikum zu machen was jetzt nicht diese berührungsangst mit der musik hat mit klassischer musik das war so die grundsätzliche idee aber so eine idee entwickelt sich ja auch jeden tag jede woche eine neue neue idee hat sein neues stück so wohl wie vor fasziniert bis ein neues podium wo du das halt auch den leuten näher bringen kannst also das ist wirklich eine eine entwicklung und ein entwicklungsprozess über jahre als ich muss ganz ehrlich sagen rückblickend habe ich mir viel vorgestellt aber nicht das was heute da ist
