(bees buzzing) (bees buzzing) - [Camera Man] Got the boxes on the roof of the car. Might as well shake 'em in. - Yup. - That's the go, bend it down a bit. You're right above it. Look at that. That's amazing, isn't it? - I can see how people wear them as beards. - Yeah. - Ready? - Yeah. - One, two. (bees clattering) - Alright. (bees buzzing) It's got 'em. - Man, I'm worried about this mess that's on the top there. - Just put the lid on now really. Try and brush them away so you don't squash them. - Just on the edges? The middle bits alright? - Yeah, the middle is fine. Just around that rim. Lovely. Swarm in a box. - Well... Ha, ha, ha. (Camera Man laughs) - Okay, job done. Here's the new beehive on top there. (chuckles) We'll leave it there for a bit, let 'em settle in before we move it. (bees buzzing) (birds chirping) Catching a swarm for a flow hive. You can see them all at the entrance, working out their new home. - Yeah. (bees buzzing) The hives looking good. Time for a top box. - Feels pretty sticky. - Oh, Dave. - Oh, my Lord. - Look at that. - Wow! - That is so fast. - That is so fast. - Okay (laughs) Definitely time for a top box. Wow! How much is in the lid after only three weeks or so. (bees buzzing) That is one pumping swarm. Look at that. Dripping with honey comb. Honey is definitely flowing in. Using the jumper leads from under the bonnet. Let's see--- It's hitting that line there. Touching the leads on each end of the stainless one. Looks good. Here it go. - [Woman] Awesome. - Yup. Otherwise, it melted in. (Camera Man clicks teeth) (bees buzzing) (chuckles) - Beautiful. - Top box with the honey flow? - This is it. - Oh, they're already getting in there. Wow. This is amazing. To have gotten this swarm and then set up the box, like the home box, the downstairs department, and then, upstairs here has got the honey flow set up and the window and just to see them instantly all get in there, it's amazing! (bees buzzing) Oh, my. There's honey. It's strong. Wow, there's actually quite a lot of honey. (laughs) - [Dave] Yeah. - Fat Max fingers. - (indistinct) - Yeah? - Remove cap. Put that one there. Wow. Oh, man, this is so exciting. And the honey flow... Opens. I can see half a dozen strands of honey just pouring straight down. Look at that! Here it comes. Wow. Wow, it's so cool. There's all these strands coming down from that--- Look at that. - Oh, wow, the bubbles are really cool. Just really wanna put my mouth under (laughs) (Blond Hair Man laughs) - [Dave] You can if you want. (chuckles) - And they're still working. That's a really cool thing is that they seem totally undisrupted. - Yeah, that's really neat that they're all just buzzing around as though nothing's really even happening. - Mmm. And they're entering and exiting at the front of the hive. Just as they would be on any other day. - It's pretty crazy. - I thought that maybe the bees would get disrupted with--- I don't know if there was a scent of their honey in the air or something but we haven't had any of the bees act aggressively or seem disrupted in any way. - This is incredible. - This is incredible. - This is really amazing, man. It's so beautiful. - Yes. What a gift to communities and to families to be able to have bees live so close to the house and to be able to harvest honey without any of the traditional, commercial equipment. So simple. - To be able to just do it in such a peaceful way, too. For ourselves and for the bees. And accessible. And to be able to look in and see all the inner workings and understand it really clearly and easily. - Yeah. - Like, "It's okay. "We don't need X, Y, and Z." You just gotta have this and land a little system and away you go. And look after the bees. Look after them like you normally would but the rest of it is so simplified and accessible. - I really can't imagine how this won't revolutionize backyard bee keeping and beyond probably. - Yeah. - It just makes it so accessible for anyone to be able to have a hive and reap all the many, many joys of having so much honey. (bees buzzing) - Just stick it right in there every few months? - [Camera Man] Yup. - The top one or the bottom or one? Sorry. - Bottom one. - Bottom one. - [Dave] Lucky for (indistinct) - Yeah. (Woman laughs) - All the way in? - [Camera Man] Yeah. - And then, just go ahead? - Yeah. - Nice and firm. That's it. That's it. Good run. That's all you have to do. - [Dave] Don't you jar gotta come out a little bit more? - [Woman] Yeah, put--- - [Camera Man] Yeah. - [Jack] Check it out, you guys. [Woman] It's coming out. - [Child] Honey. - [Camera Man] You can see it coming out of the end frame there. (indistinct conversations) So a simple little cover like this will help to keep bees out of the jar in case they come around. Yeah. Very easy to use. Perfect. There we go. Not very hard to make. Yeah, really is interesting how they don't get disturbed at all, huh? - Hmm. - [Jack] Moe, check this out. Watch this one, the bubble going down. You can see that's that air, like a little air pocket coming down, 'cause the honey's draining. - [Child 2] Uh-huh. It's just like a waterfall going down from cell to cell. - [Child 2] Whoa. - [Woman] You can get in there and try it, too. (Woman laughs) - [Child 1] To me, build them up. - [Woman] It is.
