all right so let's talk about something crucial data in today's world everything revolves around it any smart move or a plan comes down to numbers currently there are three top jobs related to data data scientist data analyst and data engineer but where do they differ and what kind of skill set do you need to become one of them my name is Daniel and today we are going to dive into each of these jobs and figure out what makes them unique and and if you want to learn more about these jobs and skills they involve I have left some useful links in the description feel free to check them out after watching this video okay people let's get started data scientist versus data analyst versus data engineer who are they okay folks more often than not I noticed that people are not super sure what these jobs are about some even think they are all the same but that's not the case guys so before before we get to compare these three roles let's make something clear what are these jobs exactly and what kind of tasks do they involve data scientists this professional dels into complex Digital Data decoding its complexities they use statistics machine learning and coding skills to figure out what the data is trying to tell us it's like solving puzzles in data spotting Trends and predicting future stuff now you might ask what do I need to get this role well think about gaining experience and mastering skills like Advanced statistics machine learning and data conditioning the main tasks for this role usually include cleaning up messy data working with machine learning models finding Trends in the data making predictions and Reporting about their discoveries to their management okay now let's have a look at data analysts folks if you are planning to get a job in data and want to start from the entry level data analyst is the way to go data analysts gather clean and analyze data to help businesses make smart decisions think of them as the storytellers who turn data into easy to understand rappers and cool visuals and if you want to become a data analyst all you need is a bachelor's degree and the solid grasp of Statistics but in fact guys a formal degree isn't necessary today because your skills are more crucial just make sure you have some knowledge about handling data modeling and Reporting and you are set understanding the business side of things would be a strong bonus here is what data analysts typically do Gathering data from different places cleaning the data up and organizing it looking at the data to spot Trends creating reports and visuals and sharing their findings with others finally let's talk about data Engineers a data engineer sets up and manages the systems for data scientists and analysts they are The Architects behind the scenes they make sure data is collected stored and analyzed smoothly their job involves creating and managing data pipelines while ensuring data is stored securely and efficiently so to become a data engineer you usually have two options get a master's degree in a data related field gate soling experience and grow up from data analyst some key skills you will need are strong technical Kno how the ability to create and use apis and understanding data pipelines and make things run smoothly data engineering tasks usually include managing data pipelines keeping data secure and organized ensuring data quality and maintaining data infrastructure so guys as you can see some of the everyday tasks these professionals perform on a daily basis are similar of course there is a certain overlap there is no surprise there all these roles are about dealing with data and making it useful another important thing I would like to add is that the these roles are in high demand in many many Industries for example Fields like healthcare Tech e-commerce and finance need competent data scientists analysts and Engineers okay so now you know what data scientists data analyst and data Engineers do now let's take a closer look at these roles to see what skills they need to work data scientists data scientists and data analysts share many skills but data scientists dive deeper they can create databases and combine pieces of information from various sources guys it's important to remember that unlike data analyst data scientists need Advanced programming skills they must have a good understanding of programming languages like python C++ or Java Plus some expertise in SQL other data scientist skills include machine learning and deep learning data mining apachi spark Apache Hive Apache Peak and Hadoop data visualization and business int intelligence data analysts here is the them guys data analysts come from all kinds of backgrounds traditionally a data analyst might hold a degree in math or computer science but nowadays they can come from any field that deals with numbers including business or Natural Sciences that's why becoming a data analyst isn't strictly tied to a specific education it's more about your skills in working with and interpreting data that's why if you plan to be a data analyst you might want to learn skills like data warehousing some basic programming scripting and statistics databases and SQL Excel and data visualization tools all right people and now let's talk about the skills it takes to become a data engineer data Engineers they are like the Architects and caretakers of the data World their main job is all about dealing with database systems So based on this their skill set includes Advanced programming data warehousing and elt deep knowledge of database systems SQL nosql Hadoop map reduce hi data streaming and data architecture with pipelining I know folks so far we have seen a lot of similarities between these three jobs but now let's talk about what makes them unique differences all right let's break down the differences between data scientist data analyst and data Engineers data scientist are like the problem solvers of the data World they die into complex issues and use data to make predictions data analysts are the data detectives they collect clean and analyze data to help businesses make smarter decisions data Engineers are the tech Builders they create and maintain the systems that data scientists and analysts use to handle data in the background there are some extra details data scientists lean towards statistics and machine learning analyst are more into math and businesses and Engineers have a strong background in computer science and engineering so as you can see my friends each role has its own superpower in the data world how to choose okay so these jobs have so much in common they all deal with daytime numbers but you may ask which one would be right for me well folks choosing the right role depends on your skills and interests if you love using data to solve problems and make predictions go for data science if you enjoy digging into Data to help businesses make smart decisions data analyst is your PE for those who love the idea of building and maintaining Data Systems data Engineers is the way to go now keep in mind guys no matter which one you choose thrown analytical and problem solving skills are key and of course don't forget your communication skills because being able to explain and present your findings to your management is crucial today there are plenty of resources online to die into data science analysis or engineering and there are plenty of courses and certification programs that can offer some valuable knowledge I reviewed many of them on my channel so feel free to check them out also I have made three dedicated road map videos on data science data analytics and data engineering you can also find them on my channel salaries all right and now let's talk about money if you look at data provided by indeed experience in house data analyst in the United States can earn over $120,000 per year a data scientist can make up to $190,000 a year and the data engineer earns about as much as data scientists around 190,000 now if we talk about Freelancers data analyst can earn 36 to $45 per hour freelance data scientists make 25 to 50 $ an hour and freelance data Engineers salary is about $48 to $64 per hour so as you can see FKS data scientists and data Engineers normally earn more than data analysts this is because they require some more serious technical skills all right people let's wrap up our comparison between the data analyst data scientist and data Engineers feel free to share your thoughts in the comments and if you're looking to enhance your skills in data analytics data science or data engineering I have prepared best resources for you check out the links in the description they could be a game changer if you enjoyed the content give it a thumbs up and for more videos like this smash that subscribe button stay tuned for more thanks for watching guys until next [Music] time
