DART ATTACK CHOOSES MY JUNE TBR?!

hey guys it's michael and welcome back to my channel [Music] so today we are here with my june tbr and obviously this will be a continuation as you've seen from the title of my trying out other booktubers tbr games series so this month we are doing maddie from bookposingblog and it will be dark attack the reason i chose maddie for this month is that this month she is hosting whatever you want-a-thon or whatever-a-thon which is a readathon where you read whatever you want but there's also teams so you can specify your reading i'm on team epic and high which is epic and high fantasy or sci-fi if you kind of wanted to stretch it and yeah i'm really really excited for that readathon so if you want to know more and i'll leave the announcement video down below and obviously maddie's channel as well if you don't know how dark attack works basically maddie has a dart board which she throws starshot obviously and behind each color is like a prompt and that prompt picks her book and how i will be adding my own spin to it is i have a dice and like a little board and basically if i roll a three that means i have to pick a madi book which is like a book that i would associate with maddie and if i roll a double i have to read the exact same book as madden no matter what and unless it's like part of a series in which i read the first book in the series and then every other number just kind of means that i get to pick my book but it's just for like the little added challenge on top of the prompts themselves so yeah i'm actually really hoping we get lots of fantasy prompts this month if we don't we are going to be a bit screwed although there are a few non-fantasy books that i still want to read in june as well so yeah let's just get straight into this also again if you're confused so am i as i said last time but basically the rules will make sense as we go along oh i should also say for whatever thought i have pledged to read five books because i feel like that's like safe and in case like i began to start slumping or whatever five books seems doable but obviously like i'm planning on reading more although this video is kind of long so i don't know i feel like we might be having quite a high number but yeah we'll see okay let's get started okay so throw number one it is actually a pretty safe board other than miss so we're just kind of gonna throw and see what happens as always the outer ball means i can pick whatever book i want but i do have to it's snowing it's snowing at the end of may what is this country sorry sidetracked there i'm nervous pink let's see what pink is pink is favorite author okay so now we do our role for the favorite author prompt so again if i roll the three i have to read a maddie book ever all a double i read the exact same book and if i rule anything else then yeah let's do this that was a three okay that's a five that's fine so if you did not know in the past like two or three weeks i've been making my way through the realm of the elderlings and an attempt to catch up with the catch-up book club which is like a big club where they're reading the realm of the elderly just now so i have currently read assassin's apprentice and royal assassin both five stars both amazing so you could kind of say that robin hobb is only your favorite author so i will be doing assassins quest this is quite a chunky book and my god that noise was weird but i'm so excited so i'm actually scared like the way the last book left off has left me traumatized so i don't know i'm just i'm really excited for this obviously this is a high fantasy so this will be great so yeah assassin's crest okay so let's get into the second throw i am 100 going to regret saying this but i'm in such a good mood i now don't really care what happens for the rest of the game i regret saying that i guarantee but okay here we go green is that a triple i think we're okay oh it's just about a single and we have got ebook what could i read on ebook actually right and let me see what i've got on my handle actually let's do a roll once again whipping out the m taylor swift picture frame that is now used as a dice board but whatever okay that is seven god that took a while once again we can pick our own book i'm just gonna have a quick look on my kindle app and see what books i have let's see what fantasy books i have basically oh wait i've actually realized i will be reading sight witch because i'm reading that on my kindle because i don't want to buy a physical copy of it because it wouldn't match my set so i will reading sight [ __ ] by susan dennard which is part of the which lands along hosted by jade from gdb reads the witchland series is kind of this high fantasy um world where you know there's like all these different types of witches and like the main focus of the plot is that this 20-year truce is coming to an end and chaos is ensuing and the plot is kind of confusing but i have really really enjoyed all the books so far and sightwitch is the book for me but like i'm going to read the engine because the live show's engine but yeah i will be doing segwitch okay just a quick little change of our camera battery but let's just get straight back into it throw number three triple yellow hey we're holding a throw because that will obviously take yellow past three let's see what it is and then we will have to add a sixth throw yellow is double up okay this is a fun one this is double up if you can see that there so what i'm now going to do is go grab two darts throw both and then pick off both the prompts that it hits and i have to try and find a book that fits both prompts if i absolutely can't i will do it again but hopefully i can so i'll replace this prompt quickly and we'll do that okay so we have two darts colors don't matter for these two at all this is just to pick the prompts so if i get triples whatever doesn't matter we're still gonna just be doing the six and this is still for book slash throw number three let's go i'm not gonna we're gonna do one at a time because i'm not that skilled so we're going to get light orange and green let's see what they are okay so we have mother pic and random word i can actually show you i will not be texting my mom because my arms at work so i will just do a random word generator and pick a book for that but let's do a roll i'm going with a three so that means we need to do the madi book and okay that is fine i can work with that let's do a random word generator and see what word comes up i'm not going to screen record this because i got the board but i'm going to show you and when it comes up are you actually joking can you see that ladder what am i gonna do for ladder and it literally has to be a maddie book right okay i will be back in a minute you're gonna have to be with me on this one but um the graphic novel that i've chosen is um saga volume one by brian k vonnehen and fiona staples so my connection to ladder is ladders are kind of like industrial like industrial vibes like metal or like you know this is a sci-fi do you get the connection like i don't but yeah let's just go with it and uh my connection to maddie for this one is that she has read quite a lot of the graphic novels in the series and and she really enjoys most of them so you know and this will fit some prompts for this is actually one of becca's favorites so that will fit into the host fave prompt for whatever i thought so saga volume one i'm really really excited for this i don't know too much about it but i know a lot of people love it on booktube so i'm very very excited sorry that was a bit of a stretch but literally ladder what was that gonna pick for ladder league [Music] okay let's get into throw number three oh wait throw number four okay throw number four i'm still not aiming we're just gonna throw i'm having the best time i have got i'm having quite a good time as well actually i'm so excited for on my tbr and i'm excited for my book club picks and i've got graphic novels in mind just perfect perfect let's throw pink again still safe let's see what it is non-seasonal what does that mean okay non-seasonal read this is an interesting one so basically a lot of people read seasonally and for that it means that you read a book that feels really summery when it's going into summer we are currently going into summer and i have to read a book that feels not summery okay let's go seven okay we can pick our own book so the book that i have chosen for the non-seasonal prompt is the shadow of the gods by john gwynne or gwen i'm not too sure um but this is a high fantasy story which kind of feels wintery you know just from the cover and this fits a lot of prompts for whatever-a-thon so i'm really really really excited for this one it just came out as kind of like a it's pretty sure it's norse kind of fantasy with like dragons and kind of like viking vibes i don't know it gives me viking vibes i don't know if it is but excited nonetheless so far this tbr is going very well which is surprising considering last month was quite a lot actually i should probably just say last month was like a failure not a total failure though there was only like three books that i didn't need off that tbr which is like pretty good and but the rest of them i actually read so yeah i'll stay tuned for my wrap-up if you want to hear my thoughts but yeah let's just get into the next throw okay throw five i just want to keep playing wow i just jabbed myself with the dart i just want to keep playing though i'm having so much fun i love it so much but let's do 305 and see what it brings me pink again well i guess we're doing seven pros why am i so drawn to pink today this is short read okay sure we're going to perfect saga volume 9. this is the last published volume of saga and i'm kind of scared because no one seems happy so true anyway short read okay let's do a rule another maddie book right let me think would you guys kill me if i was supposed to push nikki and just use this again you know what you don't make the rules i make the rules i'm using this again saga volume one we've already talked about it again doubling up we'd love to see it okay let's get into the next throw okay we are just gonna get straight in with this throw number six let's see what it is throw number six red let's see pink red is patreon paul okay so for this i'm going to go onto my patreon and i'm going to make a poll with a load of options and they get to choose which one i'm going to read so i'm going to go make that poll now um okay let's do our rules and see what kind of book we're reading this time are you actually joking oh you're actually joking i need to read the exact same book i genuinely cannot believe we actually draw the level like no matter what that's because i like to learn to read it i hope it's gonna be what team is maddy on again um it might be a fantasy so i could stretch this but what if it's like like this like a random series i don't want to read okay let's let's see actually scratch that i will come back to that one at the end to tell you the four options because what i don't want to do is put something on that pole which i then want to pick for a later prompt so just to stop me having to change it i'm going to do my second throw not by suspends and then we'll wait the problem that sounds like a plan we'll do that okay let's do the seventh and likely final throw because there's not many colors where i'm at risk but obviously doubles and triples are still a thing so let's do this throw and see what we get i'm gonna aim right for the middle i doubt i'll get it but i'm gonna try didn't get it with dark blue let's see what it is oh no [Music] big books okay big book right let's see what modules i swear to have to eat the exact same book again um hands will be thrown and i will just delete this video right let's go are you actually joking i'm actually just not going you actually joking like are you actually joking [Music] two doubles not even just in one video but literally in a row i genuinely don't even want to press play i don't even want to know what pictures i don't want to know right let's let's brave these last few minutes we have two books this is basically maddie just tell me my exact tbr now because we have two books that she's gonna let us know what they are and i'm gonna have to read them oh my god okay let's do this okay so the final prompt big book something had to go a little bit wrong everything went wrong for me buddy and i am going to very slightly stretch this i normally class big book as over 500 pages docile is 490. so i'm going to pick docile i'm sorry i know it's not i've never heard 500 but so i have never heard of that book in my life but you know what i'm actually kind of intrigued and since it's the book club pick from one of maddie's book clubs that means i can participate in the live show if i end up liking it i hope i like it um and i actually appreciate that it's not too long i'm gonna actually have a wee nausea on amazon and see how much it is and i will see if i will order it um just now or whatever let's see what the pick cause for our patreon poll i'm genuinely terrified but if it goes as well as docel did then we should be okay but okay so now that we've done all the throws circling background to the patreon poll i will tell you the four books i'm putting on it and then i will as i said put up on the screen which book wins so the four books i'm going to put on it are meet cute diary by emery lee because it's a cute trans wire contemporary i want to read the unpopular vote by jasper sanchez a cute trans white contemporary that i want to read we then have the extraordinaries by tj cluj which is a cute why a kind of slightly urban fantasy superhero book which i'm dying to re-read and then last night at the telegraph by melinda lowe which is another contemporary that one's actually historical that i want to read so those are the four going on the poll this is what wins i don't know yet but you guys know now okay so that concludes the tbr and i'm actually kind of scared to let me just grab the books that we're reading so these are the books that dart attack has chosen for us alongside sight witch docile and the extraordinaries and so is that six books yes that is six weeks because remember we doubled up saga for two prompts because i'm sneaky like that but um yeah i just wanted to say a huge thank you to maddie for obviously letting me follow your data attack for
