throughout this entire Marathon so far we bought for those of you that aren't aware we bought the new pc potato computer no longer we have moved on Overlord Hermes remember for six months hello super ready for this run good me too yes so for those of you wondering what happened to Dark Souls 2. it got real hard it got really hard and really annoying and honestly I don't think anyone was having any fun so we're just gonna move on it's okay if there's one thing that Dark Souls teaches us it's to know when to let go and that's it you know what we're letting go it's all right Dark Souls 2 beat us that's fine I will come back with the vengeance I will come back with uh a video explaining how exactly I'm going to tell Dark Souls 2 how much trouble it's in but until then though we are going to those of you not aware Dark Souls 3 what we're doing today is we are doing the ranged only run that means only bows of a kind uh I will probably not be using crossbows just because you know don't really want to relive that uh but uh yeah we're just gonna get to work gonna get to work hey Dr face Robert long time no see but yeah everything's going well the new pc can run everything so so we're good there uh I've been playing a lot of my I say it's my backlog I've been playing a lot of games that have been very PC intensive as of late um just cleared Dead Space 2023 very good very good game very pretty when it's actually at full settings very very cool um don't use crossbows they're angry oh God that is that is certainly uh oh man we're starting early huh okay all right all right did I practice don't lie ow well I did a month ago I did a month ago let's put it this way I know we can get past gun deer that's that was my main and primary concern because we only have 30 arrows and so we need to make sure we can do it and I had to check that so I did outside of that though I do have our timer here that should be on the stream there should just say Dark Souls 3 if my memory serves and if I push this button nope how about now there we go if I push that button we can begin all right so dark souls 3 Thief got it let's go to gun deer here we go the madness begins all right let's do autocorrect uh yes Firearms are absolutely ranged weapons not for the purpose of this run though all right so what I've learned is that body shots should be enough don't need to go for headshots here despite what anyone else who's done arranged only run will tell you but you don't want to use lock on because the lock-on with gundir is pretty Garbo when it comes to the range attacks okay well there's one miss and he's he's a slippery boy a little tricky sometimes God damn okay there's two misses I'm gonna try not to reset this character if I don't have to maybe we can get a head shot in on accident at one point but we should be okay I think we have like a I think we have a safety net of about like Five Arrows I'm gonna let you turn to me instead of trying to shoot you on that turn that's clearly not working for me there we go all right big guy give me the twofer we'll take the twofer a little pixely over there also on 1080p hmm okay well uh let me let me look at the settings a game I've been streaming on the second Channel a little bit to make sure that all the like audio settings and such are okay but I died so we're gonna put a two there um but apparently other parts are not so good much better ah right there we go I thought so I thought so it's like I've been doing this or something it's like I've been doing this for a while the PC specs good is very good is very very good top of the line I I will not have to upgrade it for another 10 years you guys did me good let's see Mr meme dealer good morning lemon which bow are you aiming for using this run personally I think the black belt would be pretty good yeah we're going to be doing um ferris's bow for sure but then there's some other bows that I had on the list as well so uh I don't remember up top my head but thankfully we've got past lemon with our little timer there who routed the entire run so hopefully the lemon of over a month ago knows what the hell he's doing hopefully he knows what he's doing got a 4090 yes sir yes ma'am that and all the other things to go with it ah [ __ ] I need that tight night look at that later went from potato to roast potato yeah something like that all right we'll get that later yeah we'll get that later all right round two we're warmed up this time we're ready we're ready now it wasn't an issue with arrows it was an issue there's an issue with our aim and uh not getting hit exhibit a just gotta remember how to play gotta remember that running is absolutely a valid option in this game and everyone loves their little [ __ ] delay attacks gotta remember the delay attacks there we go there we go well that was way off good aim lemon you're doing great a few more walking at me huh there you go there we go all right he's warmed up yeah it's much faster much faster there we go you need to upgrade your PC I mean honestly the computer I was running with that we got this entire Channel up and running with was uh I think 10 to 15 years old I mean it was and I had some minor improvements here and there as I went I think I upgraded the graphics card to like a 1060 or something like that at one point but you know that's that got me through did a fine job now these two I'm a little uncomfortable with apparently hand bloodborne hand we're not playing bloodborne today get out of here man when I first played Dark Souls 3 I remember this boss gave me so much trouble I got stuck on him for like an hour not the uh not the softest transition from Dark Souls 2 to Dark Souls 3 but there you go it's just Dark Souls for you all right sit down shut up take your lumps nice okay not bad not bad this is a pseudo Challenger this is just a regular challenge run we're doing just ranged only just ranged only all right we gotta get the second first try let's go yeah there you are ow my elbow all right let's go get that tight night real quick I'm gonna need it for love God come on man what is this Dark Souls 2 why is it so floaty okay third time's charm there we go all right that's better excuse me why you say take your lumps because the enemies gotta take their lumps they gotta take what's coming to them I don't know it's just something I heard forever and a day ago and uh just kind of stands out to me don't know why does range only include thrown items I guess if you want to think about it this way it is bows and great bows only how about that if that helps I don't know why I picked that up all right hey the timer Let's uh all right next up is Longbow and also saving gray rat you got it lemon you got it lemon of the past just as soon as I buy more arrows no no crossbows we're gonna we're gonna hold off on the crossbows I think I've already proven that we can use those so uh you know try something different if bows and Dark Souls 3 anything like Dark Souls 1 this will be a breeze they are not [Laughter] they are very different um they actually have some pretty cool stuff there's they do have some interesting mechanics however enemies are also much much faster so you know a bit of a trade off there please tell me you sell arrows thank God all right wooden arrows that's our option 600 yeah I really don't want to grind we'll do that does lemon was intelligent and lemon used this for his starting item which gives us an extra two thousand yes you do your thing how many levels can we get and why are they all in decks two levels hmm you know I could get that one extra damage I I think we're just gonna how much does a longbow take probably not that much what is my dexterity at these days Phantom of time remember for one month welcome you're basically there I believe in you you can do it all right I'm a little worried about the dexterity requirements of some of these later bows so let's go ahead and use these for decks I did not record them should have learned what they were too late now and we'll just pop the rest of these Souls into more arrows all right 700 arrows more we can ever hold life is good let's go all right what browser plugin do you want do you use to make this a better experience uh good question I think um what is what is Ludwig's thing is it truffle I've heard truffle was pretty good never used it myself but it might be might be helpful how's the XCOM 2 going XCOM 2 is going um it is a learning curve for sure but uh chat helped me out a little bit turns out the grenade or Grenadier is actually even better than I thought um yeah he can stick flash grenades into his grenade launcher so there's that uh yeah it's it's going good though two arrows for you nice try got the counter hit all right so we are going to want to invest in the Leo ring probably I don't know where that is we will find out later give you a little what for oh headshot yeah I'm really glad we didn't do ranged in Dark Souls one solid gas Baron pretty solid guess but what if I told you it was a great bow never used great bows in Dark Souls 3. uh so so once I figure out how to use great bows in Dark Souls 2 which I've also never done uh and I do that video then we can finally see the glory there we go you question your sanity in that case [Laughter] yeah well I think Baron you of all people should know what the what kind of Madness my brain concocts you of all people should know how's that going by the way all right just wondering I was ignoring the tree yeah I forgot like I said it's been like 10 months or challenge on video usually uh about a week or two depending on the game and the challenge but usually about a week and now thankfully I've kind of reduced uh I've reduced my workload a little bit so I try to get a video out once every other week just for my own sanity that's why we we do a stream and then we do a video and then we do a stream and then we do a video and sometimes we do two videos in a row just depends on what's going on but uh but yeah give or take it's a pretty long time holy moly I mean yeah well you gotta do the run for stuff which takes several hours usually between 12 to 20 hours for a run um depending on the game and then you've got to do your audio which takes at least an hour to record and then probably another hour and a half to scrub through uh you got to do the video editing which usually takes four to five hours and then you've gotta add all the special effects Etc et cetera et cetera it's a it's no joke when when you see somebody put out a video give them that give them that thumbs up would you it costs you nothing it costs you a second and if you like the video man just put that thumbs up on there because I guarantee they probably worked hard on it or somebody did anyway somebody took some time to throw that together all right let's do this reduces workload for his own standing contains through Dark Souls challenge runs I think you missed the problem no no no no no I don't know what you're talking about I don't think I don't know what you're talking about your average video production time is 100 to 120 hours Baron Baron no well I hope YouTube's paying you overtime man because holy [ __ ] supposed to be 40 hours honestly like I know the sad thing is you're not the only one that said that either I know uh Challenger Andy has shown some of his like uh his times on how long it takes him to do certain things holy [ __ ] man that man's taken like 500 hours to put out a video insane what software am I using for editing I am using DaVinci Resolve DaVinci Resolve all right he winds down from his 10 challenge runs with more Dark Souls challenge runs actually true actually true Dark Souls is my comfort game for sure dreamsicle oh hey I didn't know I could do this so on a side note it's cool to see my two favorite YouTubers in one place well hey uh if you like that uh there is some content I will be putting out hopefully in June uh that is going to have hopefully all of your favorite Dark Souls challenge Runners all in one place or at least most of them some of them are busy but I can't say names because I don't uh I of thymesia yes I have heard of it haven't really seen anything on it although I know people keep telling me to play it I'm going the wrong way to Fort lemon hey I haven't played this game in like 10 bring this back up the thing about the short bow is that you can roll and then shoot and it does less damage but it still works RJ thank you so much 10 months welcome back and Benjamin brand new if I remember my routing properly it should be mostly just bows I mean if music is willing to attach fire bombs to arrows I'm you know I'm in like I know there are exploding arrows in this game so or is it exploding bolts I know there's exploding bolts I don't know if there's exploding arrows all right let's try this again third time's a charm just like everything else one two three yeah I kind of like the speed of this a little bit more a little bit more time to uh a little bit more time to react and everybody knows more damage over time is good is it poison arrows in this take your lumps take your lump steak and lumps take your lumps yeah we won't really need to worry about arrows themselves until hopefully later so we can take the hit to our uh to our Arrow count we'll be all right okay all right buddy go on then I'm running away and then using the longbow yeah well a lot of good that did me [ __ ] all right phase two is becoming a problem clearly phase two is clearly a problem I need to actually for one Longbow was a bad choice for two uh we need to just kind of treat it like a melee we need to take our time get in a hit once in a while but other than that kind of ignore him just focus on dodging ow what the [ __ ] [Laughter] Tommy am I the only one that loves fists weapons and Claws the most in Dark Souls no no you're not alone people with the normal weapons you would really like swole B1 Kenobi it's a new challenge running around this on the scene here the Dark Souls scene and he's been punching his way through the souls games so if you're into that there you go all right fourth time's a charm this one surely this is the one I'm gonna try wool long ah eventually it's on the list can we not do this song and dance man can you just let me pepper ya can we just agree did you like your pepper more than your salt but yeah haven't uh don't know a whole lot about wool long so I can't say much about it but I've heard good things my community certainly seems to be interested in it so we'll uh I've been told there's fire bombs so that tells you all you need to know what is happening what are you doing there hey there big boy all right and the chanting begins Dark Souls three or one uh I would recommend a single weapon run or a soul level one run for Dark Souls 1. [ __ ] make a video because YouTube I don't care how good your videos are YouTube will not recommend you if you do not have a backlog to recommend because if for example you only have one video and it is the best video you've ever made it's best video anyone's ever seen yeah YouTube might recommend it once and then that's it and that's that's all you get but if you've got several videos and you will need them then YouTube can say hey if you liked this video have you thought about looking at the rest of their stuff and that's how the algorithm starts working so you have to put something out so put out garbage put out that initial garbage get it going get that snowball rolling learn by doing time on the tool make shorts it breaks the algorithm ah depends on what you're doing hard to say I have yet to figure out the shorts and how they work well they don't seem to work well for my stuff and that's perfectly fine I don't really enjoy making them I'm sure we could do like highlights of
