hey everyone it's clay director video here at steezy and again we have the amazing evan co-founder and ceo steezy the legend himself today we're gonna be reacting to money by lisa the exclusive performance video let's react [Music] nice triangle formation [Music] spread myself [Music] [Music] there's a lot there's a lot right there a lot the first thing that i'm going to say is uh i like lighting i like i like the like boomed light above them with nothing here and as they're starting wow light on and it's like it's a great little spot right here so you're not getting too much of the background yeah you let the dope sign stand out as well yeah i didn't even notice the spotlight yeah [Music] [Music] another thing again i can't help it i love how they're having like two main lights actually flashing from each side so you'll see the shadows cast in different directions so you see a shadow right there oh and then you see a shadow that way oh yeah so they're they're using that to like cool it it's one of my favorite things like if you guys don't know in some of our season videos you'll see like lighting shift during the portion it looks so cool in videos having like dynamic moving lighting so just that little thing actually adds a lot to that tight yeah this like little groove right here where they all just lean in like me twice right repetition repetition is very good in dancing it doesn't mean that you are over doing certain moves it's that like it's that did you get what i just did kind of thing you're just reminding the audience and it lets them really log what you're doing repetition is very intentional it's always very intentional if it is intentional right because because you know i'm sure a lot of people hear if you do dance or have tried dancing i'm sure you maybe try to freestyle move to music and you realize you're repeating the same moves over and over so that is generally unintentional um repetition but in a choreography like this right what are we trying to do we're trying to get the audience engaged so she's doing this moving towards you move away moving towards you yeah so satisfying everything on me [Music] and the looks it's the swipes with the look swipes with [Music] and then even for our favorite groove right here the frame what a great little frame like using using the actual dancers to emphasize the center point build a frame but then still have the side dancer support yeah [Music] gosh we're gonna keep stopping here it is a performance video yeah it is drop drop it she goes she she hits the cat while the other dancers emphasize that like drop motion that's [Music] really drop it like it's pouring i'ma pour it on myself [Music] [Music] are those dancers on the led screens in the back yeah those are dancers in the led screen and i'm curious because i think they're the same dancers because we have the braids braids the little buns yeah so i think they they had those dancers in only the back row cool repeated again what a cool like it it makes it feel like a shadow but it's too choppy to be a shadow i think of this stuff i don't know man they're just sitting on a couch somewhere like yeah bro hear me out we need more people more but we spend all our budget [Music] [Music] that part i laugh every time it's just like it's like what does she ever do to you i love it everyone's silent she's looking back at her like [Laughter] [Music] [Music] this is i think a great example of using the right shot at the right moment that circle is that's not a cool move but just because she was so close and it highlighted the screen everyone know what i mean right and then oh background dancers they're doing the circle too but they're highlighting so she gets around the screen and everyone else gets the support she just like keeps eye contact with the thing real seriously i look so gross i'm like spiderman like this choreography wouldn't translate on stage at all but it's like very effective well it's upper body yeah right and then we have these people squatted around i think i think it could look cool but there's going to be a lot of cleaning that needs to be done in order for it to be like super effective right yeah it's definitely like this is beautifully built for the camera there is one thing right before when i think when this section started yeah there's something [Music] it's like it zooms in and then they go up and right on fields they drop and feel it and then run back out it's just like this nice little like u-wave motion that transitions yeah and and not only that it's uh you're doing they're doing what works really well in dance and shooting dance videos which is cutting on motion cutting on motion big motion is how you hide a cut right and so if i were to be like like this you're going to want to cut the the shot right around when i'm hitting this point so that you can see me finish this move otherwise if you cut right when i hit here it takes like two or three frames for the human eye to catch up and it's gonna look like you're like whoa why do you just jump what just happened so they're effectively cutting dance here matters also i really do like this formation work right here right we have blooming out from the center you got lisa there and we got these two beautiful lines out there right although i will say they're definitely off look at this there's all the space here and all that space but it's okay it doesn't just nitpicky [Music] dollar bills [Music] [Music] i know i like it everyone know what it means [Music] [Music] [Music] look at that she walked out of frame into the other frame [Music] they just see they thought of these things it matters your transitions are really good if you want to be a great dancer for music videos or someone that works on music videos you have to think about things like that like how do you transition between the scenes that's like that's why we keep talking about like blackpink's videos something about it whoever or whatever team keeps working on these things they're just so good at transitions they really think it through so good [Music] let's see so lisa's really well framed here right no one intersecting her with the like she leans and is really into it too oh you know i bet you this was like this was set they had like you're gonna cross you're gonna make an x you're gonna cross over obviously the camera's not in the right place to see their crossover yeah but i think those are all very intentional ships you know again the facials and performance love love the hand placement too just like it's deep you know boom like this elbow isn't even to the side it's up here and then it's like a straight line all the way across yeah like the shapes the shapes matter when you're dancing if i were to take a picture or freeze frame does it look cool yes this does [Music] oh [Music] i love that one but these fingers the finger right here [Music] that middle finger it's like it's such a small detail but it's what makes it elegant look at her middle finger for this one [Music] that is like that's one of those things the little like shape of the hand and you feel like that that was made for that moment she doesn't switch between the frames there she wasn't like i'm gonna wipe at this point i'm gonna do a finger at this point she kept it as if that was like this is very important because the music change goes so soft so drifty so dramatic she's got to keep that delicacy this is really effective it's always the elbow across yeah you like thread your head through it i i do get tired of people going like over the head stuff sometimes but this is built for a moment so that's why i really love it it works initiation initiation that's texting wait oh [Music] are those lights on the roof into the road do you see that it's yes but it's like did they get this location because like you know what's gonna be dope you know what's gonna be cool the ceiling if we light it this way is gonna look like two lines on a road i don't know how like did they they definitely had the foresight they went up and they whipped up for the other one the set designers are playing 4d chess out yeah chess it just it makes sense [Music] the chorus that's the that's the moment that keeps sticking in my head this like but there's nothing like musically going crazy here it's it's like it's all built it's a wind-up for this throw yeah i love the leg moving away yeah from here you know what i'm gonna do i'm gonna slow mo this [Music] leg leg [Music] that was such an effective like let let lisa do something small let everyone else emphasize her right there [Music] like that i don't know if that chorus would get me so hyped without that choreography i think a lot of people understand that like music yeah is all about tension and release right and so if you're able to make a choreography that doubles up and triples up on that tension and releases crazy so this windup really sold it boom just hit so hard oh my gosh [Music] tonight [Music] look but you know what's really funny is homegirl on the left doing so much more than everyone else she's just so full out and i appreciate it it doesn't quite it doesn't quite fully mix i'll point it out exactly uh it's it's homegirl right here homegirl right here is so good and so full wow she looks like a chicken what's that what's that um fish that's like wine lionfish yeah lionfish but this girl right here look how big she's digging wait [Applause] [Music] okay one more time just just only watch her [Music] on my ass tonight look at that body roll oh my gosh [Music] hop into [Music] little flickers [Music] [Music] just one one one nice little little whack there love that this this like downwards point what a powerful way to hit a beat because it's like it's like elegant you know and it activates everyone else you can see it right like [Music] [Music] good shoulder [Music] great transition again you know hand grab school turn match perfect yeah that's a perfect cut too eye contact there's like it like goes from close in from the last scene to close in on the new set scene into the drop wide close close doom it's such a like quick little cut like it's like barely a second it's a great transition yeah oh also something you can't do this with your entire dancing but you can do it for a moment like this remember the whole big motion match cut thing i'll play this on point 25 even slower so watch this she her arm goes back and forward it's already here and now it's all the way back again huh and that's because of remember i said the two to three frames like difference for a human eye to catch up to what to accomplish so if you cut it right on the moment here she would have been done with the move right so they actually have to bring it back your brain wouldn't have caught up your brain would have caught up so that's why her arm is further back moves forward and then they bring it back here they do it for a lot of movies when you're like punch people oh they'll be like boom in a cup watch out for that in the next marvel movie yeah but it doesn't seem like the timing's out it doesn't it doesn't it sells perfectly yeah but it's funny how that's the most effective way to cut a powerful move yeah give two to three frames extra what do you think about this video like i know it's different but this one compared to la lisa what are some some likes i mean maybe just because i'm a dancer and i like to see choreography but it was just like pure choreography like simple camera like camera angles camera zoom zoom-ins and you just kind of see the fuller picture of it i agree i think this really honored the dancing wow even though it was heavily cut up i don't dislike cutting and heavy cutting i think if you're telling a better story if you're making a more effective video then that's fine i think this does exactly what it should be doing yeah this is such a full performance and you just let the dancing shine you let everyone do what they need to do to really sell the song yeah dynamic formations most definitely i'm sure la lisa also had really dynamic formations but i couldn't tell because the sets were so crazy and the the costuming kept changing which i absolutely loved yeah the objectives of the two different videos are very different yeah shout out to the person doing the led wall honestly because you'll see these like moments that the musically it'll be like like a flicker right and the background will perfectly match that moment and you don't you don't think about that you think about the dancing and how effective it is but that background work helps sell the dancing and the beats even more i think they do right here [Music] background just switched up like oh but you don't think about that because she's looking at her so it almost feels like lisa and the dancers are hitting that beat but it's just our eyes being tricked by that background i appreciate people that know how to support a stage performance you know so big shout out to that person too shout out man man we we love reacting to these things make sure that you leave a comment again let us know what other videos what other artists you want us to react to and give a dancer perspective or i guess some lighting perspectives i'm just throwing in random stuff that's completely unrelated to the dancing also let us know if that's okay yeah we appreciate all yeah everything everything that supports a good performance is what matters it's not just about the dance it's not just about the editing it's about everyone teamwork teamwork as they say the hidden [Laughter] also don't forget that we have kpop dance classes on steezy.co so you can actually click the link in the description to learn those
