Oh, fuck... god damn it. Didn't expect to get this news thrue r/anime.
One of my favorite artists. Random Access Memories is a perfect 10/10 album.
Edit: I've been listening to Discovery and RAM all day...
There is a website every saturday night around 11 that plays this movie. They been doing it for over 6 years (as i've been aware of the site doing it). Toonamiaftermath.com. Wonder how the crowd will be there this week with this news. Through them I've probably watched it over 10 times.
I remember the music video for One More Time as my first exposure to Daft Punk and being instantly hooked. It wasn't until later that I found out it was actually part of a film for their Discovery album.
Certainly not the first news in about 5 years I wanted to hear from them. Nevertheless, wishing Thomas and Guy the best in their retirement.
Now time to rewatch Interstella5555 (which is all on YT) and have a listening session.
All the songs from that album went stupid hard especially something about us and voyager
Oh shit no...
Thats like a "We need to get stronger as individuals" shounen arc right? They are coming back stronger, faster, better right?
Man just yesterday I was listening to them and wondering what kind of genius album they are gonna bring out since its been some time.
Well they certainly created an awesome legacy
Leiji Matsumoto <3
There's not another creative mind like him in anime anymore. He's getting old and when he goes off to greener pastures, he'll be deeply missed.
Interstella will always have a special place in my heart. When I was a young teenager in the early 2000s I was already watching some anime with Naruto and FMA because some classmates were talking about them all the time. However these music videos are the ones that really made me interested in animation in general instead of just being into a few specific shows.
Very seriously, if you haven't watched Interstella: 5555, and enjoy daft punk even a little bit, go watch it. It's 100% worth it.
I enjoyed their OST for Tron
