[Music] well before I could walk I had a wrench in my hand I was my mama's little angel my daddy's second chance he went in and over in first year he went through and he lost part of his assets so it couldn't race no more [Music] they never lost his touch when he got under he knew one day would see his name in victory lane and engraved on that cup just like all of mother tres food racing in their blood [Music] please putting me on his lap when you drive and I take sweet you'll need say what do you think about that side how does she feel you just whittling little legs you long enough to reach the gas once you put around the flow on time there ain't no turning back [Music] [Music] take me out to the garage he'd take a empty bucket fill it full of engine parts he'd set me down and pull him out in front of me on the floor I'd have to feeling what each one was what each one was can we jump in his old car and go down to the race that night you tell me what each driver was doing wrong what each one is right he could always pick the winner for they ever took the curve number three bout had the carbs 43s got the nerve [Applause] we're before turn 18 that it's then that pretty soon after race when I'm on leave all about chachi everything I know you've got a working fire your own [Music] [Music] first one that I bough was a Mustang number two nobody kept a minute longer then they kept repair shoes they started showing up at every used car lot in town from being on a go-kart ease terms no money down [Music] me and that in my office upper home we tore down ships are out real good cleaner up board around look out all please pull the carpet off the floor knocked out all the glass then welded up the door [Music] well the first time that erased my qualified was a shame I started out way in the back came back out the same older and it couldn't look my daddy in the eye he said it quit now son it's gonna haunt you all your life see it ain't about the money or even being number one you gotta know when it's all over you did the best you could have done and knowing that it's in you and you never let it out was worse than blowing any engine or any wreck you ever had I reckon bunch of cars that I broke bunch of own anybody much of them in the wall can I hit him from behind and let him know that track it's been several years since my daddy passed away but it's pictures on my dash every time I go to race I lost more than a one but I ain't gonna give up till they put me in the ground and Eddie's name zoning [Music] [Music] I'm sorry I didn't look at [Laughter]
