just like that homicide okay dogde if you're unfamiliar with a Korean Thriller drama it's about a top Korean influencer who ends up drowning in a lake and now she's dead but a few weeks later an alert pops up on basically everybody's phone and it said that arri the dead influencer is alive and she's live streaming people you know naturally they start freaking out they start tuning in and sure enough she's sitting there in the flesh this is not a pre-recorded video she's interacting with comments in real time so now the question on everybody's mind is wait so is she not dead than what happened Ari says that she will be telling all of her followers in a series of live streams and each episode each live stream is another another expose if you will where she's going to dig into her past as an influencer and dig up all of these Sinister events that led up to her so-called death and she talks a lot about exposing the influence of world in South Korea so honestly I was imagining at first there was going to be a lot of backstabbing scandals secrets and we get that but we also get murder we also get attempted homicide soon we're going to get a lot of stuff some of South Korea's top influencers are killers allegedly this is a fictional show guys this is a fictional okay so they went to a club and a man overdosed in a private room while doing drugs with them since drugs are highly highly illegal in South Korea they covered up their own asses rather than getting this man help and we left off in part two finding out that this man is now dead he's not just in a coma he's not just injured he's dead so let me give you a character recap cuz there's a lot of different people at play so we've got Ari the main character she is the top ofth toop creme Dela creme influencer now she's live streaming and clearly not dead then we have her love interest who is June a hot CEO that runs the biggest beauty company in South Korea like think Lancome but Korean he's very very interested in Ari and I feel like in part one we really liked him he gave us stereotypical rich guy in krama Vibes he's like the rich guy that likes the spunky broke you know main character that's intriguing the main character that like really loves food why do they have to really love food like that but then in part two he is getting weird he's the guy that trains his house staff to walk after him when he enters his home and they have to time it correctly so they can hold down the back of his heel on his shoe and he can lift his foot up out of his shoe midst step mid-step yeah he really likes Ari but his ex- fiance Sarah keeps telling him you need to stay away from Ari so Sarah is the daughter of a powerful family of politicians she doesn't do social media and she just runs a bunch of Charities and she used to be engaged to June but we still have no idea why they broke up all we know is that June keeps bringing up the fact that Sarah is the one that left him and Sarah keeps bringing up the fact that he's always playing games with whichever new girl that he's obsessed with the insinuation being that June CEO June likes to put women on a pedestal and then get bored with them and knock them down later then we have Sarah's husband Taye he is the top attorney in all of South Korea he comes from a privileged family of attorneys and he's really not good enough for Sarah he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and he's willing to do some Shady nasty [ __ ] to keep his name clean also he doesn't seem that faithful to his hot beautiful above and beyond his League wife additionally Taye has the most annoying little sister in the world her name is Chrissy she is another top influencer she is a caricature I'm going to be honest with you this show she is a onesize one-dimensional caricature of a nasty social media influencer she's the one that goes around and it's like do you have more followers than me do you have more lik Li than me that's when I thought shut it and you're like ma'am this is a McDonald's literally that doesn't matter I said your total is 549 and I have yet to see a single scene in her where she seems somewhat human or has any sort of redeeming factors she's always whining complaining throwing wine at people doing drug shopping and making fun of non- neppo babies she is the girl that runs gabin society which is a group of the top influencers on Instagram that's what they call themselves The gabin Society they just be out here doing just going to parties like hard long day at work is a party in gabin society let's rapid fire these people okay we've got Minnie Minnie actually used to know the main character Ari since they were in high school she grew up poor and she's got this big chip on her shoulder her entire personality consists of being rich and wanting to be richer than other people and hating arri and the fact that arri is becoming richer than her is something that keeps her up at night she will sit there and she's willing to burn through large amounts of cash to just to just to try to be richer than Ari which sounds counterproductive right and then we have Angela Angela's a married influencer and also a church Deacon but like I know what you're picturing you're like picturing kind of a wholesome image right no no no she's super super hot like always wearing mini skirts like boobies up to her chin yeah it's yeah so anyway she's married she's very religious and that's her whole image but we find out that she's a high-end escort and she's out here charging people like10 to $15,000 to um engage in not so Godly activities with her you know what I mean so that she can fund her lavish lifestyle all these people are going to become so important I'm so sorry I know it's a lot of people right and then we have Yuna now all these other girls that I just listed they give strong Instagram model Vibes but Yuna she's a mom blogger and she looks like it and there's nothing wrong with that she's got a more polished older appeal she went from being a housewife being the wife of a plastic surgeon that owns his own Clinic he's going to get important later to starting her own Instagram following but here's the thing about yaa she's got the lowest follower count and she gets treated as such at Gatherings mhm yes absolutely I mean her husband is very annoying as well her husband thinks that how dare my wife stoop so low to make money off of pictures Sir get it together it's not that big of a deal but let me tell you okay the doctor the doctor gets really evil he's willing to do some shady stuff for money so the whole reason that we know that the man from the club overdosed is because Tay the attorney had brought him into the plastic surgeon Clinic paid this man off to just keep him in there alive but he ends up coding and dying and now they've got a big problem on their hands and then also the last person well let me give you like two more people okay we've got juny this is AR's best friend since before she was an influencer jun's not an influencer but she loves the influencer world she loved it more than Ari ever did like back when they were both working at a skincare sales company juny was the one that every day she'd come in and be like oh my god did you see that the Instagram models are like fighting at it again and then Arya is like why do you care about people that you don't even know it was like a whole thing and now she's kind of like AR's little manager okay a so she's kind of in the world too now kind of but more like maybe more like assistant yeah and then we have AR's little brother he's like a hacker I didn't know she had a brother bro same same yeah he he he gets really important like at at the third act you know the Final Act yeah but in like the first two I was like I don't know he was like in the military he's like a super hack hacker yeah cuz I feel like every show needs a hacker yeah like a 13year old that can just hack into no no no no he's like 20 something he's 20 he's like really good yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay so uh let's get into the final part the episode this part opens with Ari on top of the world do you remember she made out with June the hot CEO because they are going to collaborate with her clothing company his makeup company they're going to come out with a face mask her new face mask collaboration between her brand and Hugh Cosmetics the biggest Cosmetic Company in the nation has been selling out non-stop she's opened up her own Boutique with locations all around the city where people are lining up to shop her clothes shop her bags shop everything that she has ads are pouring in so much that she can't even take them all she's one of the fastest growing internet celebrities I mean she's on top of the world everyone wants to work with Ari every other girl from gabin society is cold rice is tup they're nothing and the rumors that Ari is dating the hu cosmetic CEO is just really pushing her even further into this stardom her best friend juny is going to every single meeting with her but we do start to see cracks in their friendship as well Arya seen moving into a $155,000 a month for rent apartment she is living the life that juny always wanted for herself I'm sure and while juny is happy for Ari there is kind of this this weird tension so just to give you an example juny once asked if Ari was super busy she could take over some of the brand deal aspects of her job you know and Ari just brushed her off by saying no it's fine it's not something you could even do anyway which it felt like Ari wasn't trying to necessarily be a about it but maybe it came off weird but you could just tell that juny looked really hurt about it it was isn't even like oh if you're interested I guess I can teach you how to do that it was more like it's not something that you can do anyway like very much that's above your pay League type of vibe and on top of that you know the two girls they would get into the elevator and Arya is so busy staring at her phone even though she gets into the elevator first she doesn't press the lobby like the L button she just stays on her phone and juny gets in and then presses it it's just like small little details small little instances like this where I was like hm maybe there's you know cracks in their friendship but at the same time Ari is kind of on a high horse you know I have very mixed feelings about Ari by the end I love Ari right in the beginning I loved Ari by the end I love Ari but then in the middle it kind of got weird because she's doing all of this but she's still kind of she's getting paid like a celebrity this is an example but when she shows up to a charity event hosted by Sarah and Juni is in the car with her Junie tries to powder Ari's nose and she's just smiling and says you're a public figure now like you have to make sure that you look perfect and Ari just says I'm not a public figure well in the modern world influencers are public figures maybe the modern world is wrong about that then why are celebrities and influencers public figures anyway that should be reserved for people that help others it's like I agree she's okay I see you know it's like I agree but like maybe it I don't know like the vibe is like I mean I get it but also like yeah you know yeah and then Judy's like don't be so weird I didn't mean anything by it it was just like a passing comment you know it's like one of those she was literally just like oh let me just PW your nose it wasn't a serious conversation and she's like okay well um here let me just take a picture of you while you're in the car before you get out so they're pulling up into the aagon club which she hates that's the same Club where the man died but the charity event is being held there and uh yeah trust me Sarah did not want it to be there it was not her choice but all of her managers were like hey charity events are all about raising money and jenzie don't want to go to hotel lobbies so we got to go to a club she was upset about it but right as juny is about to snap a picture of Ari a girl steps in front of their van and gets very gently hit everyone outside trying to enter the club is screaming I'm so sorry very gently hit Yeah by their car she's like a pedestrian and uh Ari's brother is driving pulling up to this event and she gets very gently hit this random pedestrian okay yeah like very gently I'm talking like 2 mph but she's injured but like she falls to the ground and everybody is screaming and so Ari rushes out and tries to check on her but she looks so out of it not even because the car impact but it it was a very light impact but she looks like she hasn't slept in days this woman is wearing a striped shirt a pair of jeans and her dark circles are down to her chin and AR keeps telling her like we got to take you to the hospital right now and she just apologizes and refuses and just in a trance walks toward the club it's so weird and juny says what she's going to attend the event dressed like that not saying her outfit is bad or not good enough but it just really seemed out of place like she seems out of place all the influencers they're making these Grand entrances down a staircase into the club cameras press party goers taking pictures and the manager of the club you know the really mean gross guy that will do anything for money he slams open the door to a private room away from the party where the strike shirt girl is sitting and he's pissed who the hell let her in and she gets up and says you're the owner right please my brother you you know my brother right he used to work here Jesus Christ I'm going to lose my [ __ ] [ __ ] outside the party is going full speed there's so many things happening at once at this party June the hot CEO shows up and wants to talk to Sarah about their past relationship out of nowhere and she's over it she keeps telling him what more is there to talk about like that's the past why does it matter now but he's not taking no for an answer he says I thought you left because you changed your mind about me but you mentioned I did something is it something I did or said was it because of that day in New York meanwhile outside AR is at the VIP table with supermodels and real celebrities like not influencers and the gabin society they've been seated in the freaking back and they're getting drunk they're hating on the fact that they're no longer the top influencers and it all sounds so dumb and Arya is not the type to be nice to them just because she has to be so at one point in the night she just straight up tells them remember how you said that I should know my place well according to your make-believe arbitrary hierarchy system you should know your place too and they're like what the hell did you just say to us I said you should know your place because you and I don't sit at the same table anymore look around this is your reality we're leagues apart jeez what is going on they hate each other yeah so they get pissed and they storm out of there and as the party starts dying down Ari heads out into the empty Club Lobby to walk out and she runs into Sarah's husband Tay the skey attorney and he says Ari so right at that moment they hear a scream they turn around and they see the manager walking out of the hallway holding on to that girl in the striped t-shirt from the other hallway cuz there's two hallway entrances Sarah and June the hot CEO walk out together and they're all just watching a [ __ ] show unfold the striped shirt girl start is crying like someone someone please help me I can't go I'm not going to go and the manager screaming I told you to get the hell out of here stop please you have to help me please the manager flings her onto the ground and she's still pleading please my brother is not someone who would die like that he's not that type of person please he wouldn't just leave my mom like that the evil guy lifts up his hand pulls it back and slaps her across the face I told you to shut the hell up now Sarah's screaming she's running over what the hell do you think you're doing Miss Miss are you all right is everything okay Sarah and June they try to help the girl Ari and Tay are watching from the other side of the room and I think Arya is kind of putting two and two together on what's going on what the striped shirt girl is here for her brother must be you know the one that they the manager is looking very stressed he's eyeing Tay he's eyeing June looking back and forth and the woman tells Sarah my brother didn't kill himself he wouldn't do that to me and my mom I'm Sorry Miss what did you mean by by that there was a suicide who's your brother honey Tay walks over I I just need my brother please help me I just need my brother managers let's handle this mouse shall we wait so Sarah did what Sarah was aware of the incident correct but she has no idea he's dead she only knew that he's he was on The Brak no she didn't even know that what does she know so basically her husband told her that it was light injuries they dropped him off at the hospital and he's good he's in a little bit of shock but he's fine he'll get over it and now she's like what what are you talking about and Taye is like managers let's handle this mess shall we ah yes sir so they grabed the sister from her underarms and quite literally drag her out of there and Sarah stands up and it's clear everyone in this room now knows who the sister is talking about who the brother is and now they know that he's dead June drags Ari out of there and into his Aston Martin while Sarah confronts her husband and she's like don't tell me please don't tell me that that man is her brother he doesn't even respond he just kind of scoffs at her like this guy is truly evil no feelings no remorse nothing no heart but even wilder than that is that behind a wall into this Lobby you see a little face poke out Minnie she's heard the whole thing meanwhile going 70 mph in the Aston Martin we've got June so he's like ask me what you need to ask me and I can answer honestly I'm okay I think I just need you to pull over so I can get some fresh air I just need some fresh air then let's go together let's get some fresh air instead of pulling over this man clicks a button on top of his Aston Martin and the convertible just comes off the car listen money doesn't buy happiness but you're telling me there wasn't magic in this scene don't lie to me I know there was this scene went viral on Tik Tok okay are you describe it better like what will happen yeah so she's like like there was magic in this scene imagine being like I need some fresh air Aston Martin Supercar convertible do you want a convertible bit is that what you want you want a convertible for Christmas and then and then Jude says I'm going to be blunt with you once more I need you Ari I'm sure you don't need me at least not all down she was the only one in the gabin society that wasn't there that night she would be on top she would squash them all take them all out with one hit and all she has to do is step on Yuna her best friend right now to get on top Yuna is the plastic surgeon's wife/ influencer the Plastic Surgery Clinic where that man was held she's cooking up something okay she's she's willing to crush yaa to get on top meanwhile Ari gets a message from BBB famous the Instagram account that helped her get all the secrets on all the other influencers so that Ari could have some power in this world that's who we're talking about Ari is really excited to talk to them again we still have no idea who this person is it could be Gossip Girl for all we freaking know but BBB famous seems butt hurt asking Ari why she thinks she's too good for them now if she thinks it's okay to just get famous and forget about everyone that helped you on the way up and AR's confused about where all of this energy is coming she can't say it didn't tempt her but she's over it people who don't know her acting like they know her taking time to either cheer her on or hate her she said the fan account's name right now is agree Ari but in the blink of an eye it'll be changed to ugly Ari and with that she's out of the influencer world she's done with it and that is the story of celebrity wow bro it was really entertaining it was really entertaining I will say the last half got a little bit better than the first half the first half felt overly care Cherry the last half I felt like I I started to see a lot more of the people come out the first 50% was literally like you have more money than me that's impossible and then the second half it just got like very it got Twisted but it also got um a little unhinged you know what this reminds me of thriller books some of the thriller books where 90% of the plot is like a regular slow paced domestic Thriller and then at the last 10% tell me why the main character has 25 triplets and a clone and then they see a video that was recorded by their killer that was living in the house that was left in the basement but then their mom that they thought was dead was actually not dead and she's actually been locked up in the basement room for 25 years and then you're like this this was so normal like a second ago like a chapter ago they were talking about the flowers and the vase and everything and now suddenly suddenly we're in like what are the odds territory it did feel a little bit like that with the Deep face and all of the deaths mhm yeah but it was really good I would say it's very enjoyable and I do hope that there's a season to not with these characters but I think it'd be interesting for them to tackle like other niches because at the very end people come in to clean Chase's room like movers because she's going to prison and they see an iPad that was left behind by Ari with AR's fan page on there with 3.9 million followers mhm and a guy picks it up up and he's Curious by it and he's reading comments I would love to see like a guy influencer season I don't know feel like it be fun no yeah what does that look like I don't know
