Cutting Bur Oak

[Music] before we start today's video i'm gonna take a second to say a big thank you to dean parks dean sent me some shirts and you're gonna see those in just a second i got them right here on the head of my toyota and they are awesome they are just awesome shirts i've i'm gonna have to get some of these for my work shirts the material because they're they're awesome i like them over the years doing youtube and social media i don't have a big following uh on facebook we do i think we've got 45 000 or something on facebook but i didn't start doing youtube till later in the years i think 2016 2017 and i don't work at it as hard as i probably should and my goal is to never have a huge following that wasn't what i was out to do just whatever became of a became of it i don't make money off youtube i don't get paid for views or uh any of that stuff i don't get a check uh i started doing youtube was just a way for us to like my dad and i to promote our work to show landowners potential clients what our job sites look like uh the the fact that i've met some really great people along the way doing it all across the country and all across the world that i talk to on a fairly regular basis that's just an awesome bonus it really is it's it's great that i've met so many people and get to see so many people uh talk to them about logging and just life in general but i've received some awesome gifts and this is definitely one of them another one that i received a couple years back was chuck wagon he sent me an american flag that i actually i have put up in my house i i do i have it on display it's it's an amazing gift uh american flag that was used in the military so i'm gonna flip this around i'm going to show you these shirts because they're pretty awesome so dean sent me these shirts here dnl logging kingsley michigan it's pretty awesome this one here is collared i do like that i'll wear this at the summer mfpa meetings i'll definitely wear this for you dean the missouri log in council meetings missouri forest products association i'll wear this actually at our golf tournament so i can't thank you enough for that man that's that's really awesome thank you so much seriously it means the world good timber down this little ditch here runs into the big creek well right there it's quite a tree there quite a tree dad's always sneaking off and cutting these good trees you guys that watch the channel on the regular kind of know that me and dad a lot of times race to see you can get to these things fastest this is a good tree here some kind of blemish right here i don't know what that is really starting to check out it needs some irons in it good log good tall trees for some reason and i can't figure out why this skinner's only got one choker on it and usually i always run at least two chokers i don't know if we've lost the choker it's been a month or better since i've ran this whole thing i don't know if we lost the choker took the choker off i don't know what what's happened here but that's pretty frustrating because i don't have any chokers in the toyota dad didn't have any chokers in the truck on his truck kind of makes things slow going [Laughter] [Laughter] oh [Applause] [Music] so this big devil he's got some blue in it so that means metal somewhere in that tree there's metal probably an old fence we didn't hit it of course the butt cut bad cut off about two feet up last night laying in bed i knew i should have brought my uh 661 with my long bar on it because i knew we were cutting these big burrow today i just about couldn't get all this one there's a little bit in the heart still there it's just a 25 inch bar so i should have brought my 32 over like i said i knew we were cutting these big burrow today and like everything else on this creek it's just been an ornery creek a lot of us timber's cut bad that's unusual for burrow like that to cut bad usually we hardly ever see a barrel if it cuts bad no matter how big they are we just don't see it very often but that one cut bad dab's whittling away on a good one there and he cut a walnut right beside it i probably need to go fuel up and tighten my chain up and i think we'll get this guy here down [Music] so this creek over here has just been it's been crazy just like this these trees are right in the same area these two didn't cut very good at all this one was just down from this big one it couldn't cut any better these two were in the same area they cut good but we've cut a lot of timber here in the last eight or nine months over here along the same creek where we've cut some just the most fantastic walnut then we've got into places that it just cuts terrible it's odd usually uh kind of the rule of thumb you get on the creeks like this your walnut generally cuts pretty good we've seen more bad walnut over here in this area said in the last eight or nine months and i've probably seen my whole life in an area it's oddboard to cut like that trees aren't real big they're not showing a lot of dead limbs nothing makes you think there's anything wrong with them but it's not cutting very good so so hey guys if you like what you see be sure to
