hi guys welcome back to my kitchen today I just want to share with you a nice vegetarian dish that I love to have when I need something plant-based it's super satisfying let's get started so of course I have some oil in a pot here and what I'm doing is just cooking the curry powder so in Jamaica we see it burn the curry of course we're not burning it we just mean that you're cooking it a little bit so that all the flavors can be released into the oil so you're gonna notice that the color of the curry will change to a little more Brown but don't let it get too dark because if it burns then it's gonna be bitter of course okay so now we're gonna be adding the chickpeas and this is candidate chickpeas and of course it is a cooked already [Music] so we can't rely on just the curry powder for flavor so I'm gonna be going in with some seasonings and some spices too nice up the pot a little bit more [Music] and of course I always add some garlic and I never leave out the ginger I try not to leave it out when I'm doing curry really really enhances the flavor [Music] I'm gonna be adding a whole scotch bonnet pepper and it's not necessarily for heat it is for flavor if you like a lot of heat you can always and mince it up but I'm just adding the whole one today [Music] all right so I'm adding some fresh carrots that I've chopped and I'm gonna be adding some fresh string beans as well you can always add the you know that frozen vegetables that you you can get at a supermarket it's super convenient with like the peas and the corn you can add that tool or if you have the fresh vegetables you can add them it's gonna make it even more nutritious and add some more flavor to the pot so once you've added everything you're gonna let it simmer because even though the chickpeas are cooked already you want them to get a little more tender and you want the sauce to thicken up and get even richer there you have it guys look at that it is so satisfying I promise you you won't miss the eat the meat or the chicken it's really really delicious and you can have it with some rice or some roti or even some mashed potatoes it's really really delicious and I hope you'll enjoy the recipe thanks so much for stopping by and see you next time [Music]
