thank him in spite of the pain because when i start praising things begin changing by learning to dance in the rain yeah i'm learning to smile when i feel like crying to live every day as if i were dying i'm learning the lesson by praising god through the pain y'all listen now hold to the cross when my hands are shaking lord through it all i'm learning to [Music] dance when the clouds start to gather and bring in bad weather there's no silver lining inside when your prayers have been prayed and the answers delay and you're holding on for dear life whether you walk on water or if you falter he'll be there when you call his name and you'll get the victory and you'll solve the mystery by learning [Music] as if i were dying i'm learning the lesson of praising god through the pain [Applause] i'm learning to stand when my heart [Music] the lord through it all i'm learning to [Music] dance y'all help us again come on i wonder where a mother finds it down in her heart to take the thing that made my way through some valleys and deserts believing i'd never get lost i stood at the foot of what felt like mount everest knowing i'd have the strength for the client but it's through every trial [Music] if you ask me why i have no hesitation god does what he says he will do [Music] and i'd simply say every battle has taught me there's nothing he won't help me through so why should i dwell on the hardships and struggles when i look just beyond them i see the way this will end is with great celebration and deep in my heart again and again god is faithful [Music] over and over again and dahlonega today we had lunch with karen peck and ricky gooch our best friends and karen made a wonderful meal we drove from dahlonega to here you can't get there i blew i run my battery dead on my bus blowing my horn at my own taillights that's some crooked road right there sherry and i've been married this past we're getting ready june the 18th we'll celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary yeah every morning i wake up sherry gets prettier and prettier you get more and more handsome what's that you get more and more handsome yeah i heard you the first time all right i like to hear that but we do have a brand new baby on the bus morgan has a baby and mama's gonna go check on ryman for you would you mind doing that they take turns going out and checking soup now we we do have two dogs a bird and a baby on the bus and our 15-year-old daughter is on the bus as well taking care of the baby but we always can make sure that maura ain't having trouble with her or nothing like that but uh it is so great to be with chris pastor chris man that's a good-looking man right there i tell you what and and then you got joe arthur over here i got to tell you joe i had a dream about you though actually last night i dreamed because i was going to be with you i was so excited i dreamed about joe you all i dreamed i died and went to heaven i got up to the pearly gates and the saint peter said you can't come in i said well i got to get in he said no you got some sins that ain't accounted for here so you can't get in i said well i'll do whatever it takes to get in he said the only way you can get in i'm going to chain you to the ugliest woman you've ever seen for two weeks and after that two weeks you can come on in now this is a dream y'all made me dream it like is but i had this stream and i looked over i did in my two weeks i had an hour left and i looked over and there's brother joe arthur was the most beautiful woman you ever laid eyes on i said saint peter what i get the ugly woman joe gets a pretty woman saint peter said that pretty woman got to pay for her sins too oh oh i don't know what made me dream man i guess it's all that pizza i ate last night but morgan uh morgan is our daughter morgan has the brand new baby tell them all about ryman she's 17 months old her name is ryman pauline smith ryman after the ryman auditorium in nashville and then pauline after two of her great-grandmothers and then smith after my husband uh it don't matter morgan uh yeah she lost her voice last night so i'm gonna would you mind trying i need you more today all right chris we might have you sing a third part to grandma gets back let's do i need you more today [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] on my own and there aren't trials i can't face [Music] and you said come on [Music] [Music] and help me remember i need you more today and when i wake up in the morning and [Music] [Music] yesterday has come and gone with those trials far behind but i'm never learning lord and every day i find i need you more today than i needed help me remember i need you more today help me remember i need you more [Music] thank you chris jared uh my cousin here jared easter his daddy russell junior easter taught me and my brother and uh all the kids growing up how to play and uh my favorite instrument that he plays is a steel guitar and i want to get him to play a little bit of dottie rambo and when we get to the course uh i don't know where lucas went but if y'all know what y'all sang it out i can't sing as high as this course is but a lot of you ladies can take over but it's got he looked beyond my faults and saw my needs play it for him jared ah [Music] i shall [Music] yoga [Music] oh [Music] thank you i noticed you had your mask on over there near joe and she got over here and took it off i'm just saying joe i love you joe i've been knowing joe since i was a little bitty boy my daddy used to go to my dad he was taking me to see him gosh back then he was probably 40 back then i was like two but he could still preach man he was a new preacher he he had hair back in now he's got heavenly hair there'll be no parting over there i love you joe joe you could have stayed home and got that kind of criticism couldn't he i'm glad you did can't get enough of it you know this has been the strangest year and i know you guys can give me a big amen with that have we ever been through a more weird year uh i got tickled when when coveted and quarantined first started and everybody was staying home and you know don't leave the house and stay with your husbands and wives and there were so many people posting on facebook and social media this is really hard we're having to stay together all the time and i'm thinking it feels like the same to me in jail we're always together 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year and one of the first people one of the first questions people want to know is do we ever argue never had an argument 36 years we just have intense moments of fellowship [Laughter] and i got to be honest with you it has been less intense this year than i remember because jeffrey has taken the trash out all the time right on time because you didn't have anything else to do [Laughter] but we're so grateful because one thing that i have learned through this year well one thing i've learned about being a christian is when you have the tough times you have to be grateful for them amen because there's always something we can learn and draw from those experiences and this year the thing that i have learned more than anything else since i was 11 years old when i got saved i have learned about the faithfulness of god because i am a businesswoman i have a business degree i enjoy playing with numbers and finance and stuff and if you had asked me five years ago hey sherry why don't you just take a year off i would not have known how to do that and this year i found out i can take a year off and god's still going to take care of me it's been amazing and i'm so grateful for the faithfulness that i've seen in god's people because god's people have come out of the woodworks and it's so good to feel so loved 2008 i went through breast cancer and i told jeff as hard as that was i hope that everybody at some point in their lives can feel as loved as i felt going through breast cancer because i felt love from every direction and it was a beautiful thing i want to share with you a devotion that i wrote about my mom several years ago she passed away in 2018 and what a light she was she was sunshine and she always breathed so much encouragement into my life how many of you remember her polly with the lewis family all just a sweetheart of a woman just never seemed to have a bad day always had good advice always had a smile on her face and this kind of gives me a chance to share her with you when i was a teenager my mama loved to sing the song one day at a time she sang it on stage and off it became kind of a mantra for her as she walked through each season of her life trusting god was taking care of her every need it was her reminder that she could do nothing for her circumstances except trust him she sang it after my daddy died leaving her old widow raising two children who still lived at home she sang it as she walked through every lonely day until she remarried she sang it as her husband battled cancer and as her parents passed away 13 months apart she sang it as she walked into the uncertainty of parkinson's disease i never understood her attachment to the song until i began walking through similar seasons some days are just too hard some fights are just not worth it sometimes you need to be reminded that god is taking care of your every need nevertheless i think my mantra will be a little different because some days i don't have the strength to walk one day at a time not even one hour or one minute at a time i think i'll make a conscious effort to trust god one breath at a time [Music] this life is bad [Music] we are broken and we grieve but there's a promise for all [Music] train [Music] [Music] these [Music] [Applause] [Music] until we [Music] [Music] time [Music] [Music] make every moment count cause it passes [Music] it gently slips away and though for now it hurts there'll come a day [Music] hello [Music] know our own until we train our goodbyes are gonna try not to cry your dad and his two brothers we owe a great debt to them in gospel music i was a little boy growing up and i used to put on them lewis family records using my bible for a road map her uncle roy pickett banjo uncle wallace on the guitar and your grandfather and your mama and then the easter brothers right along with them and i worked at a little christian radio station and man little did i know that the lord and his providence would let me meet all these people and i paid him a thousand dollars to let me come up here tonight and sing with him i'm gonna take you up on that i'm gonna hold you to it yeah i forgot when to pandemic but i love these people and i love this man he loves people and when you get in the people business that's god's business and when you get god's business he'll get in your business amen and and i remember this song thank you lord for your blessings oh man [Music] as the world looks upon me as i struggle along they say i have nothing but they are so wrong in my heart i'm rejoicing how i wish they could see thank you lord for your blessings [Music] i have a good place to sleep [Music] and family thank you lord for your blessings on me [Music] well i know i'm not wealthy and these clothes are not new i don't have much money but lord i have you and to me that's all that matters though the world may not see thank you lord for your always good to be with people that make fun of you i enjoyed that too i used to have a buddy of mine would go out and eat the waitress come over and say can i help you he said yes ma'am mess your hair up and holler at me make me feel at home but it's a blessing i do have my uh beautiful wife with me tonight all of our preachers were tied up i didn't have a driver and i said baby just go with me to keep me awake so stand up back there sweetheart i don't think they can see you back there but boy i'll tell you she sure is pretty and i praise the lord for that you say well beauty's only skin deep i know that but ugly cuts right down there to the bone amen and i appreciate the goodness of the lord god is good these are unusual days in which we live as though the pandemic was not enough and then we have the political landscape that's upon us and man there's darkness and disease and doubt and trouble on every hand but i want to say this tonight what a wonderful time to be a christian can i say that again what a wonderful time to be a christian because that's when you need light when it's dark that's when you need truth when it's deception that's when you need hope when you're in the midst of despair and i'm glad christ has always been the answer he's still the answer and always will be the answer matthew chapter number three tonight begin reading in verse number one in those days came john the baptist preaching in the wilderness of judea saying repent ye for the kingdom of heaven is at hand for this is he that was spoken of by the prophet isaiah's saying here's my text tonight the voice of how many one the voice of how many one the voice of one crying in the wilderness prepare ye the way of the lord and make his paths straight you may be seated tonight and i'm interested in that phrase in verse number three the voice of one and the lord being our helper tonight i want to preach a while on the power of one voice i believe we'd all agree tonight that this world has heard from everybody about everything we have heard from hollywood we have heard from the entertainment world we have heard from the sports figures we have even heard from the politicians we have heard from even religious voices in our day and it seems that the more our world hears the more confused and the more troubled they are become but tonight i believe america needs to hear from the church you know why the bible said let the redeemed of the lord say so because we're the only ones that has anything worth saying i believe tonight the church has a song let's sing it i believe tonight the church has a light let's shine it i believe tonight the church has a praise let's render it i believe tonight the message has a church and a voice and let's lift it because i believe in this world of darkness and confusion that christ is still the answer think about it tonight where would you be when you were a sinner lost and undone with that god or a son but somebody lifted up their one voice and pointed you to the savior who is right for whatever is wrong in people's lives you know what john the baptist was the bible said that he was a forerunner in other words he was sent before to prepare the way for the first advent of our savior in other words when john was on this earth his message his job was this he would lift up his voice and he would cry prepare get ready somebody's coming prepare get ready somebody's coming john would say i'm not that somebody i am not the light i'm not the one with the fan in one hand and the axe in the other hand but somebody's coming ready or not somebody's coming and john said that he is greater than me in fact he said he was before me and in plain old southern language he was saying ain't nobody like him cause ready or not somebody is coming and i'm glad i've read the rest of the story that somebody came and jesus is his name that somebody came and lived and died and rose again he came just like god said he would when god said he would where god said he would and the way god said that he would god said in the fullness of time my son will come he said in a little manger in bethlehem my son will come and he will come born of a virgin and he will live a sinless life and he will shed sinless perfect precious blood and he'll rise again the third day and obtain eternal redemption for every lost sinner that will find their way to the foot of the cross that's what we are ladies and gentlemen in this hour in this dispensation in this day we are four runners we have been sent out by the king of kings and lord of lords to prepare the way not for the first advent of our savior but for the second advent of our savior and may i remind you tonight just like he came the first time like god said he would when god said he would the way god said he would he will come the second time just like god said he would just exactly the way god said that he would man god got it right about the first one and he's got it right about the second one all of the promises all of the prophecies all of the predictions about his first advent were fulfilled to the mind detail and all of the prophecies and all the promises and all the predictions about his second advent will be fulfilled to the mind you detail the only difference is this the first time he came he came in the manger but the next time he comes he'll come in the clouds of glory the only difference is the first time that he come they put a crown of thorns on his head but the next time he comes they'll crown him with the royal diadem the only difference is the first time that he came they spit on him and said crucify him and they nailed him to a cross but the next time he comes he will mount the throne of his father david and in one mighty course they'll lift up their voice and saying i'll have the power of jesus name for the bible said when he comes a second time every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that jesus christ is lord to the glory of god the father so let's leave this place tonight and go to all the world and lift up our one voice in this wilderness and say prepare get ready somebody's coming somebody's coming somebody's coming and i'm glad jesus is his name and aren't you glad when you was a sinner lost in your sin somebody lifted up that one voice the voice of one crying in the wilderness notice some things about john the baptist that are parallel to you and i number one tonight notice the commissioning of john the baptist the bible said in john's gospel that there was a man i love this sent from god whose name was john there was a man sent from god whose name was john even though his mother elizabeth and his father zacharias were very devout and godly and spiritual people even though they were walking with god and they were living for god oh when john came on the scene he was an elizabeth man he was a zacharias man he was not mama's man he was not daddy's man he does not represent the nation of israel he does not represent a religious sect he did not represent a man-made kingdom but son when that old boy came on the scene he was sent by god he was authorized by god he came under the authority and the offences of god he was god's man and may i say this to the church of jesus christ we are not just a civic organization we're not just another religious entity brother we represent the king of kings and the lord of lords this is god's house this is god's book this is god's message this is god's salvation let's get out in this world and let people know politics is not the answer and entertainment's not the answer and money is not the answer but we serve a god that has sent us with a message of hope in despair and light and darkness and truth and deception i came on venus tonight for the king of kings and the lord of lords we're in it for god tonight he was a man sent from god whose name was john notice tonight the characteristics of john the baptist oh let me say it like this he was different than anybody they had ever seen man i'm not here to throw stones tonight but they had seen the levite they had seen the rabbi they had seen the low priest the middle priest and the high priest they had seen the very best that religion could produce but all of a sudden here comes a fellow that breaks the mold of religion and he breaks the bowl of tradition nobody's ever looked like that nobody has ever talked like that nobody has ever preached like that there was something different about john the baptist and the other religionist of his day oh may i just say this tonight america's got enough tradition america's got enough religion america's got enough man-made religion but oh here's our opportunity tonight to say we've got something more than tradition we've got something more than religion we've got old-time holy mount santiago blood bald mount calvary salvation there's a difference in the church our song is different our message is different our voice is different our praise is different brother we're not just religious activities we're the church of the living god the pillar and the ground of truth let's be different tonight may the church get our distinguishing mark back that we're on business for the king of kings and lord of lords john was a holy man and then secondly john was a humble man and bo i want to shake this bush right here the reason why i know he was a holy man was because he was a humble man because somebody that's really walking in true holiness with god they are not proud they're not arrogant they're not condescending i promise you this tonight the closer you get to god the less you think of yourself brother chris does not know this but i have preached with the greatest preachers in america you know how i know they told me they were oh brother john came on the scene and this is the mark of true humility john said somebody's coming there's a fella coming behind me in fact he's greater than me he was before me in fact he is so great i am not even worthy to latch his shoes in fact john said here's how i feel about it he must increase and i must decrease he must increase and i must decrease john said he needs to get real big to you and i need to get real small to you because john said it's not about me and it's not about my family it's not about my ministry it's not about my family tree it's not about my religious pedigree that it's all about this man that's coming of the great one the holy one the great i am all tonight may we lift up the name of jesus high above every name because it's not about you and it's not about me and it's not about our pedigree but it's all about him the rose of sharon the lily of the valley the bride and the morning star who's better than angels and better than moses and better than aaron a better sacrifice established upon a better covenant to bring us better promises that we may walk in a better way and have a better hope and obtain a better resurrection and one day go to a better country because he's higher than the highest he's greater than the greatest he's better than the best and his name is jesus it's not about us but it's all about him to god be the praise to god be the glory let's lift up that one voice and point me in to jesus christ who is the answer to the problems of this world the commissioning the characteristics but number three i want to deal tonight with the calling of john the baptist and what did god call this man to do one thing lift up his one voice you know the only voice that john could lift up was his voice tonight i cannot lift up your voice tonight i cannot lift up your voice tonight i cannot dedicate your life to jesus christ tonight i cannot break your alabaster box i felt something on that at the feet of jesus tonight i cannot blow your trumpet in zion tonight i cannot lift up your holy hands with that wavering to praise and honor a great mighty god oh but hallelujah i can lift up my voice i can lift up my hands i can blow my trumpet i can break my box i can dedicate my life i want you to turn to somebody beside of you tonight and i want you to shake your finger and say hey i can't do it for you i can't do it for you i can't lift your voice i can't blow your trumpet i can't break your box i can't give your life but i'm glad i can't lift up my voice i can break my box i can blow my trumpet i can give god my life and here's how i look at it if i lift up my one voice and you lift up your one voice that's two voices and another one joined and another one joined and another one joined so well glory hallelujah till it's not long to there's a mighty course of voices in our society lifted up magnified the king of kings and lord of lords i want to tell you what america needs to hear tonight and what the next generation needs to hear tonight a bunch of one voices one here one here one there magnifying jesus glorifying jesus let's lift up our one voice in the wilderness and say it's not us but it's him praise the lord and here comes john whew lifting up that one voice you say well brother joe how successful was he at it i'm glad you asked he had been successful enough that a few had received it and believed it and it's down there by the jordan baptizing the converts and one day while he was baptizing john looked up and he used an attention-getting word they say in the creek it means stand in amazement something big is about to happen tom hayes used to say it's it means lookie-lookie but in a redneck it means y'all watch this all of a sudden one day john uses an attention-getting word and he beckons with his hand and he lifts up for one voice and says behold behold stand in amazement standing all something big is about to happen you've never seen anything like this before or after behold stand in amazement lookie-lookie y'all watch this he ain't never seen nothing like it look toby under behold now every eye is turned and he says behold notice what he says behold listen the lamb of god not a lamb not some lamb not one of the many different lambs but the lamb the only lamb there have been another one and they never will be another one they ho the lamb of god may i remind you tonight he is not a door some door he is the door he is not a way or some way but the way he is not a shepherd or some shepherd but he is the shepherd he is not a life or some life he is the life hallelujah he's not a savior some savior one of the many different saviors he is the lamb the gray the truth the life the good shepherd the vine the resurrection i'm glad tonight i know him the lamb of god he lifted up his voice look there he is behold the lamb of god oh they had glimpsed him in times past they had glimpsed him by the smoking altar of abel as he had lifted up a more excellent sacrifice than cain they had glimpsed him on the day of atonement when aaron would walk into the secret place and put the blood on the mercy seat and the shekinah glory of god will come they glimpsed him and in the land of egypt when god put the door home the doorpost they glimpsed him in isaiah's scroll they glimpsed him at ezekiel's wheel they glimpsed him as david shepherd as he sings to the sheep in the valley oh they got a glimpse of him and marcus and micah's preacher they got a glimpse of him in amos's plow they got a glimpse of him in zechariah's fountain they got a glimpse of him in malachi son of righteousness oh but now it's going to go beyond the glimpse it's going to be a gaze he's more than a figure in the shadow there he is for he's better than he will sacrifice and he's better than moses staff and he's better than any sheep he's better than any realm he's better than any prophet behold the lamb of god you've heard about him you've read about him you dreamed about him look there he is [Music] oh can i run a rabbit i wonder if there's anybody in this room tonight you are glad when you was a sinner a half a heart beat from hell somebody in your wilderness what lifted up that one voice and said looky looky behold you're watching us over yonder years he pointed you to the lamb of god for the christian you understand the religionist of his day had never talked like that they had never heard the rabbi say that they had never heard the leave out of the scribe say that they had never heard oh the high priest say that they had never heard a religious figure say that they hold the lamb of god i mean they knew abel had a lamb and they knew moses had a lamb and they knew abel had a lamb and they knew that aaron had a lamb but all of a sudden they're finding out now that god's got one and not just one but the lamb of god he was god's payment he was god's propitiation he was god's answer he was god's atoning savior can i say tonight he's not sent from man he's not made of man jesus it's the god man the god savior the king of every king and the lord of every lord he is the lamb of god and just when they think they had heard it all john shoves it in high gear and they had never heard a religious figure say this look behold the lamb of god and they never heard this that taketh away the sin of the world they had never heard anybody talk like that before take away sin you mean this guilt that i'm living with you mean this condemnation that i'm living with you mean the stain and stings and scar calcium that i'm living with there is somebody that can do something about it yeah boy and up to this point they had only heard this well god can take your sin and separate it as far as the yeast it's from the west that ain't bad they unheard that god could seal it up in a bag that ain't bad they had heard that god could put it in the depths of the sea that ain't bad they'd even heard that god could put it behind this back that ain't bad but all of a sudden for the first time in their life in their wilderness of disappointment and depravity here is a voice that says he can do more than that baby he knew more than that he can take it away he can take it away he can take it away because if it's in a bag it's still there if it's in the depths of the sea it's still there if it's behind its back it's still there if it's far as the east is from the west it's still there listen to this even if it's atoned perpetuated covered it's still under there but all hears this man in their night in their wilderness lifts up his voice and said he's gonna take it away he's not gonna cover it he's to take it away he's not going to put it in a bag he's going to take it away he's not going to put it in the depths of the sea he's going to take it away oh just let me ask you this anybody here tonight saved and know it if you save raise your right hand if you know it raise your left hand if you're glad about it cross them at a quick pace well i got news for you god has no record of your existence before you trusted him as your personal savior someone say pray for me preacher my past is bothering me you ain't got one god took it away oh but then changes are rattling now they're gone god didn't cover your sin he didn't pardon your sin he didn't excuse your sin it's gone it's gone the lamb of god he took it away [Applause] you realize last night on saturday night a lot of people in this world spent their last dollar trying to take guilt and condemnation and doubt and fear away from their life and they woke up this morning and they found more than they had before they went to bed there's people sitting all over america tonight that's drunk every drop of liquor enough to float a battleship they pumped everything in their body there is the pump and yet that guilt and fear and condemnation oh i'll never shake it i'll never shake it i'll never get over this you ain't got to shake it him and all you got to do is come to jesus and claim the rich royal precious blood of the lamb of god and he will lord somebody help me right there he'll take it away he'll take it away he'll take it away never to be brought up again you ask me why i'm happy and i'll just tell you why my sins i wished i could rap i'd do it right there my sins are g-o-e-n-e they're gone tonight they're gone tonight i'm justified the lamb of god he took it away whoa don't know about your family but most normal families and that's not mine when you get together at christmas or thanksgiving you know you eat a little bit and fellowship a little bit and play monopoly or play rook or a musician sit around and pick not my family let me tell you what they like to do christmas and thanksgiving talk about all the dumb stupid stuff i did when i was a kid and my three sisters who have no room to talk about anybody's stupidity let me tell you something buddy i know boys are mean but they're right out mean they're flat mean they're bold mean them women they're sneaky mean up there at thanksgiving where my mom lives my sister all three of my sisters joined in brother you oughta heard the stuff they duck up on me halfway through that i raised them i said wait a minute there is no way jeff there is no way that one little boy can be that mean nor that dumb and i looked over that my mother who went through the valley of the shadow of death to bring me in this world i knew if anybody would come to my aid he would be my precious darling mother and i said mama you tell these three hens are picking on me that they're liars out of the pits of hell there's no way one little boy can be that dumb or that mean and my precious mother did i tell you the one that went through the valley the shadow of death the brain in this world said they're right they're telling the truth brother i read back and i said to my precious mother and i said to my three dumb sisters hey you bring up my past if you want to how dumb i was how mean i was how crazy i was you can bring it up all you want to you may never forget it i save enough children glory there's a record book and when god looks down at me all he sees is jesus and the holy ghost and the blood of jesus christ are you struggling tonight his own unholy feeling struggling in your breast i will lift up my one voice and say over there he is the answer the solution the savior jesus christ he can take your sins all away they're gone tonight behold lift up that one voice well the bible said that day that john was baptizing the converts in the mighty waters of the jordan matthew 3 says something that i'm still chewing on but the bible said they were being baptized by john confessing their sins lord no wonder he died of an early age they would walk up to john and confess their sin boy i'm glad it was him and not me this lady said to my wife one time you and brother joe don't do facebook y'all don't know half of what goes on she said we know enough to tear our nerves up there are some things i just don't want to know if you are 35 years old and got a crush on your wife's grandfather i don't know about it lord of mercy some people do not need access to social media people won't know you're dumb if you don't mouse it out but oh the bible said he was down there baptizing converts he would conf he said you ain't gonna throw me down are you no you just gotta confess your sins we're gonna be here a while brother he confesses sin to john john would baptize him and he'd go on his way well this is really going to be good right here another one would walk up to him confess his sin and john would baptize him and he'd send him on his way don't worry about it jeff we ain't got it all night and payback's rough son payback's rough and another confessed their sin john would baptize him and he'd go on his way now i need to preface this for you dignified people that's never shouted in church you've never lifted up a hand oh you may want to sit on your hands because right here is one of the greatest opportunities you will ever have in your life to have a glory hallelujah fit oh they're confessing their sins one by one and john is baptizing him and about that time john looks up whoop and there stands the lord jesus christ he doesn't confess his sins because he don't have any to confess [Applause] whoa he don't confess his sins he don't have any to confess and he said john baptize me son baptize me and oh john said oh lord forbid it i'm not even worthy to untie your shoelaces but he made this interesting statement in the king james he said but john to fulfill righteousness to fulfill righteousness i want you to baptize me real quickly what is righteousness that's what god imparts to the sinner that's what god imputes to your account when you trust him as your savior well how do all heavens and lost people and helians like you and i ever be pronounced righteous and have righteousness imputed to our account only one way we put our faith in the gospel which is the death and the burial and the resurrection of jesus and so jesus says john to fulfill righteousness to show them how righteousness comes to show forth the gospel baptize me boy and john lays him whoa and i felt something on that and john lays him down in that liquid grave on top of his death and burial and then john hallelujah raises him up risen with christ out of that liquid grave and i see jesus standing there with that old red muddy jordan water dripping down his face down his garments i don't know what he did for john i don't know what he did for jesus i don't know what it did for the the bystanders but i know what it did to heaven it tore it up and god took his hands and pushed back the clouds sent the holy ghost on the wings of a dove and it flew out of the throne of god whoo and it hovered over the shoulders of the son of god and god almighty with a voice that shook the foundations of the earth my god leaned over the balconies of heaven and said oh yeah this is my beloved son in whom i'm well pleased that wasn't john's voice and that was the priest's voice that wasn't a rabbi's voice that wasn't even the prophet's voice that was god's voice hold on to your hands you're going to act plump pentecostal right here if you ain't careful and john was faithful it lifted up his voice to god said i think i'll help him i think i'll get in on it and god started lifting up his voice they had heard john's voice but now they're hearing god's voice they had heard the voice of the prophet they had heard the voice of the preacher they had heard the voice of the scribe but they had never heard a voice like god almighty's they're hearing his voice i want to say tonight church if we lift up our voice enough it won't be long that god will come by and he'll join in and he'll lift up his voice they need to hear our voice but they really need to hear his voice well glory i grew up in a preacher's home and i'm not even mad about it i'm not a recovering fundamentalist the only thing i'm trying to recover from is ignorance i'm not ashamed of my mama and my daddy and the way that i was raised i would only tell this around close friends and i believe i'm around close friends thank all three of my close friends for saying that to me but my mama was church of god old-fashioned shouting church of god my daddy was baptist but the dry kind the dead kind daddy was saved but didn't know how to enjoy it mama was saved she hoped but she knew how to enjoy what she hoped so them two got together and my mama got to believing like my daddy but then by that he got to acting like my mama and then here i come and i got the best of both worlds i believe like a baptist and enjoyed like a holy roller uh by the way holy roller ain't all that bad because if you're saved you ought to be holy and if you're rolling you're going somewhere and if you want to swap insults i'd rather be called holy roller than prune face [Applause] daddy would preach hack i'll tell you glory to god hallelujah and cry and laugh at the same time get happy and go i asked him i said daddy what's that mean he said that's hallelujah in hebrew then my little mama thank you jesus hallelujah mama's been a baptist for 70 years and she's she'll still do that only if she gets happy hallelujah if my mama was here tonight you wouldn't have to say is that joe's mother you'd know it because you'd hear amen honey preach it baby doll whoop sick him holy ghost and if she looked over at you and you were acting like you wasn't enjoyed she'd sit right down the side of you and shout in your ear i'm not ashamed i'm not ashamed boy i was so full of the world and had my life all planned out what i wanted to do and dad knew i was really struggling he came in my bedroom over there in reedsville and said son get your clothes on we're going to church tonight and it was thursday and all i said was dad it's thursday and i had one of them kind of parents you had to be real careful when you wanted to discuss something because if they had any inkling at all you were about to be a smart aleck they'd have took you to the woodshed and there'd been some flesh said can i say amen right there get up we're going i said dad where we're going he said we're going to tabernacle baptists in reedsville maze jackson's preaching over there tonight we're going we got there a little bit late i had to sit in the back with the snuff dippers sorry about that back over here oh lord my wife's in the back elizabeth this was the big one sitting there in the back boy if you ever saw mage jackson preach in person it was a sight to behold he preached on the tiptoes and he didn't point the fingers straight upon that cricket he'd take his tie hallelujah the bible said neighbor you must be born again glory to god somebody say amen right well son he got to preaching that night he got to bouncing on them toes and son he struck the motherlode the holy ghost power some that thing blowed up like old faithful some they got the praise in god they got the running they got to throwing babies and flower pots i mean it it got on and i looked over there but there's my dad on this side's my mama hallelujah whoa thank you jesus glory to god thank you jesus glory to god and i was an old man of god in front of me named william cobb from burlington north carolina he was four foot tall and four foot wide i just described every preacher in america and a little bald headed feller had big old massive jaws and you know a lot of people when they shout they go praise the lord you know hallelujah amen not him he went glory to god glory to god glory to god well here i sit on the back row i can't get no further back and oh look over there and my mama's in the glory i look over there and my dad is in the glory i look in front and brother cobb is giving me laps full of glory and i'm already on the back and the holy ghost said you can't go that way and you can't go that way and you can't go that way and you better not go that way i said what do you want me to do he said join in come on in the water's fine and son when i come to i stand on the back of that pew of praising god and are shouting the glory down and buddy god done something in my life that night that i've never gotten over i'm not ashamed i'm not ashamed i heard the voice of my daddy i heard the voice of my mama i've heard the voice of your daddies i've heard the voice of the singer i want to thank god for every voice i heard but here it is chris whoa but one night i heard a voice and it wasn't daddy's it wasn't mama's he wasn't the voice of the singer the teacher or the preacher god i heard his voice but the christ noticed tonight they didn't hear god's voice they heard john's voice i'm glad i heard god's voice but i'm glad i heard mama's voice and daddy's voice therefore i knew god's voice when i heard it let's take another vote on this if you save raise your right hand if you know it raise your left hand if you plumb glad about it weighs brother wait heather how many heard a man of god preach how have you heard some singers sing how many has ever heard a son that's gonna teach her teach you a lesson how many has ever had somebody walk up to you when you just lost and say boy god loves you and i'm praying for you thank god for that well i don't know if there's anybody in this tabernacle tonight oh glory to god you've heard his voice you've heard his voice oh i want to say tonight if the church keep lifting up our voice it won't belong to god we'll lift up his voice america needs to hear our voice because if they hear our voice it won't be long till they'll hear god's voice the eternal voice the sovereign voice the voice that makes the difference thank god somebody cried in our wilderness they heard john's voice till they heard god's voice and they couldn't shake it if you've ever traveled up interstate 85 out of greenville going towards charlotte you'll come to a little town called calpins south carolina if you are a history buff you know that's where we beat the british and then beat them at king's mountain and then they surrendered at yorktown i can tell you exactly where calpin's got its name there was some pens and they put cows in them and they called them kelpins just because i'm from georgia and we don't know how to count votes i can do a little bit i thought i'd throw that in on the subject [Applause] there's a church on the left up there called mountain view baptist church it was pastored by the same preacher for 52 years by the name of dr jimmy robbins you say brother joe i don't know if i've heard him or not if you've got to ask you didn't hear him because he's one of them kind of people if you ever met i heard that one he was probably the coolest dude for a preacher i ever met in my life number one he he wore solid alligator dyed red skinned cowboy boots i'm just gonna tell you now if you wear red alligator skin cowboy boots you're the man he wore them double breasted tailor-made suits with them gold buttons you cool if you got gold buttons man he got a red bible drove a red lincoln lived in a house with red shutters had red coffee he said stand for the blood stand for the blood the thing about him i admired the most oh lord that i ever he had a head full of luscious who you laughing at a head full of luscious curly beautiful hair i miss mine i know they say ball's beautiful but the only people who say that are ball-hated people i've never seen a beautiful bald-headed man i want to add i've never seen a beautiful man of any kind and god help a man that could grow it and won't do it [Applause] do you realize on five me i don't feel anything either i'll tell you right now and brother that man i i seen him one night get full of god and stand on the pulpit wow and just scream like a badger he was a soul-winning and a preaching machine he was a man of god i didn't realize how much of a man of god he was so i preached at that church the first time and after church that night i met eight different families now four generations deep still in that church raising another generation a powerhouse one night after revival they went up to spartanburg you've been there i've been there with you to the cracker barrel and there were two hell's angels out there with the harley davidsons about by the curb i mean i mean full-fledged i mean you know big muscles had them blue jeans shirts with them sleeves cut out had them big old muscles with that rebel flag waving in the wind and then one of them said mother had that you read next to get this had that hawk bill knife you say what's a hawk bill for it ain't for fulfilling fish i can tell you that right now rough had the drawings all over the deep sea fishing lures everything and when i see people like that i go hey how you doing praise god not jimmy robbins he won't say hi hey boys how you doing that guy jumped back that preacher said i ain't gonna hurt you son and he looked at them boys and said hey hey hey boys and here's how he talked i'm not making fun of him but here's what zach said he said i like him holly's harleys i like him holly's boy like him hollis i'll tell you something else i like boys and i call that chrome on there i like electron boy i like all that chrome on them holly's now you just listen to me any man that wires red cowboy boots and gold buttons and that full hair they go like chrome on a hurley i like that chrome boy i like him chrome on them hollis they said thank you sir he said hey hey hey boys hey hey boys do preacher robin's a favor well you do preach the robin's a favor they said i think they're saying if you will leave us alone we'll do anything you ask us to do what sir he said i like him harley's boy like kim cromer now but do put your robins a favor don't ride them into hell boys don't write them into hell jesus loves you jesus loves you boys don't ride them holly's to hell and he walked off never saw him again five years later on a sunday night one of my best friends is the head usher in that church brother spencer the door open halfway through the right beginning of the service had a young nice dressed man walked in he said hey you're a visitor we're glad you're here come on in the choir just get started come on in he said uh you're a visitor how'd you hear about a church he said well i i think his name as they said was robbins i i wanted to see preacher robbins he said about five years ago i was up at the crack barrel with one of my buddies and he told me not to ride my harley into hell and said i never got over that he said every time i cranked it up all i'd hear was don't ride that into hell he said i'd rave it up real loud and all i'd hear was don't write it in hell he said every time i topped a pop on a budweiser all i heard was that preacher saying don't write it into hell don't write it into hell he said every time i try to get smashed out of my mind i'd go to the parties and the loud music and the heavy metal rock but i never could oh lord i never could get that voice out of my head and out of my mind don't write them into hell don't write them into hell brother spencer said son i'd love for you to tell preacher robbins that but you're too late he died six months ago and he's laying out here in the cemetery but his family's here and his friends here what's your story sir he said a couple of years ago i got saved and i'm teaching a sunday school class am they gonna make a deacon out of me i just want to tell that preacher thank you for lifting up that voice thank you for lifting up that voice my god almighty i wonder if there's anybody in this room tonight you're glad when you're the sinner about to step into hell somebody in your wilderness lift lifted up their voice [Applause] don't ever underestimate the power of one voice i love to vote can we vote on one more thing how many heard a preacher preach and god dealt with you and you got saved how many to heard a teacher teach a lesson god dealt with you and you got saved how many bumped into a personal soul winner one on one and they witnessed to you and god dealt with you and you got saved well that night that preacher preached how many was it preaching that day that sunday school teacher was teaching how many one shoe that one that spoke to you about christ how many was it there what one more time anybody here tonight save raise your right hand you know what raise your left hand you're glad it raised both of them you know why you can do that tonight one one one prayer one song one witness one praise one shout one word because one person lifted up their one voice and pointed you to the one savior and one day you'll be there and i'll be there it'll be a lot of us one voices banning together saying thou art worthy o lord to receive glory and honor and power one voice turn to somebody tonight and say in jesus name will you be the one will you be the one look at your neighbor tonight and say in the fear of god will you be the one will you be the one turn to somebody beside of you tonight and say i can't lift up your voice you're going to have to lift up your voice let's be faithful till the world hears from god we need a bunch of one voices tonight let's stand together our heavenly father i've so immensely enjoyed myself being here tonight lord these people are so attentive they're so easy to preach to and we love them dearly lord i love this church i love the pastor i love the family i love everybody that's in this room tonight that i personally know oh god our nation's in a mess tonight our families our churches our cities our towns but lord if we could hear from you i believe everything's going to be all right so lord please help us not to be silent christians silent is sin lord you said if we hold our peace the rocks would cry out but lord i don't know what you've done for that rock but i know what you did for me so help us tonight to leave this place lifting up that one voice lord we can't save we can't heal we can't deliver but we can point them to you who can who has who will because we ask you in the mighty name of jesus in jesus name amen and amen pastor you do the invitation you do the service tonight we bow our heads all over the building tonight if you're here and you're unsaved you're not sure and you heard that one voice speak to you and you've been convicted of your sin man woman boy or girl you heard god speak to you could you just slip up your hand right now that's me i'm not saved i'm not saved would you pray for me is there one anywhere i'm not saved i'm not sure if i died right now i'd go to heaven preacher pray for me is there one is there one god bless you others that's me i'm not sure if i died i'd go to heaven tonight i need to be saved other others what about this i've been saved but there's some things in my life that's keeping me held back from praising god and doing what god wants me to do i've been listening to other voices but tonight i heard the voice of the lord and i want to surrender it all to jesus christ is that you christian friend you've been battling something can i see your hand how about it yeah that's me could you be honest with god balcony main floor [Music] i'll never forget you can open your eyes i'll never forget last year we had such a powerful service and my wife she always drives different she took my youngest boy with her and went home they got a few miles down the road and she heard him in the back seat sniffling she said colter what's wrong son he said mama god's speaking to me five years old and she said well what's god telling you he said mama god's telling me that i need to be saved she said well you want me to pull over here on the side of the road where we can pray or you want to go back to church and he said mama i want to go back to the church and find my daddy and go to that altar five years old that boy came in he looked like he'd been he looked like he'd been on wit i said son what is it he said you need to pray he shook his head we come right over here to this altar we we fell in that altar and i said son what do you need tonight and he said daddy god's been speaking to me and i said what did he say son he said god wants me to be saved dad and you know what we've raised our children to know what god has done for his people and i just wanted to make sure you know i said well son why do you think you need to get saved he said because we all have sin dad [Music] and i said well son do you even know what jesus did for you he said yeah daddy he died on that cross for me and he said he rose again and i said well son i just want to make sure and he said i'm sure that it and he prayed the prettiest prayer you've ever heard lord forgive me of my sins you can ask him today where you going when you die and he'll say i'm going to heaven because i'm saved now if you're here tonight you couldn't raise your hand they ain't enough devils in hell that keep me out of this altar tonight i'd run and get saved because we're not promised tomorrow proverbs 27 1 says boasts not thyself of tomorrow thou knowest not what a day may bring forth now listen the preachers already preached the singers have already sung [Music] but if you're lost you can be saved tonight and we can leave this place shouting brother charlie so his brother has done through this meeting this month and the souls that have been saved and this morning we had another precious soul come to know jesus amen he heard the voice he'd been in my bible class for two years and came to the service he'd been coming for the last few weeks had spotted him and he made his way down here from the balcony this morning so proud of that young man proud of the young men and the young women that that have been attending here lately and god's been doing a great work and our young people and tony had the opportunity to speak to the to the youth today and just got a powerful testimony and uh i'm thankful i'm thankful for our young people in the church and that their growth and what they've been doing here lately and i'm thankful for the churches in the area that that have prayed and brother charlie i know it's been different this year and they've only been a handful of us compared to normal but god's blessed us with good attendance from from our people and our churches and i just want to say thank you for coming out to god's house thank you so much the more that comes the more voice it will have and he don't know what i preached on this morning but i preached on voices that was part two of my message i'm gonna get his notes and i'll re-preach the rest of it later but we we're so thankful for those of you that did you enjoy jeff and sherry easter amen we love you jeff he back there yawning joe about put him to sleep but we love them and we appreciate appreciate them coming and be with us and now we need you to pray that god we'll touch brother joe was headed to louisiana tomorrow and i am too yeah we're going to be in the same meeting he's preaching tomorrow night and i'll preach on wednesday night down right near west monroe duck dynasty country right there so maybe we'll be able to see some of them roberson's and and talk with them and we we thank you again for being part of this meeting this year and and i appreciate jim and jim and judy's still over there praying they can pray as long as they want to and they're godly people and they want souls to be saved and that's what we're all going to do right now see revival lives on revival is to rehear is to help the christian to to revive them to get back you remember when you first got saved oh and you couldn't get enough of the gospel you couldn't stop reading the bible and you want to go to church all the time and then all of a sudden if you stop going to church stop reading your bible and you stop worshiping the lord and singing every gospel song you can't then all of a sudden you get dried up like some of them old people that's your fault that ain't god's he's the same god he was as the day you got saved he's the same god today matter of fact the same god that sent the revival back into 2017 here that went for eight and a half weeks and people got saved everywhere and shouted it down he's the same god today he's the same well what we want to do we want to go to the lord in prayer and we're not closing out this meeting but we are going to have prayer tonight that god will take what's happened this month and and apply it to our hearts that whenever we talk to our lost family members and our lost neighbors and our lost colleagues and our lost peers that they'll hear the voice that brother joe so eloquently spoke about tonight let us pray kind jesus wonderful savior mighty god everlasting father prince of peace lord we come before you is the only way we know how and ask you that you would help us to be able to use our voice to go into the highways and the hedges and compel them to come in that your house may be filled that they may be saved god you give us the great commission and lord i pray that you would help us this year that we'd be able to win more souls than we ever have help us win them on the airplanes and in the buses and in the cars the playgrounds the gems the fields the schools the churches the sunday school classes and god i pray for every man and every woman and every boy and every girl god that you would give them a new anointing god as they go lord may they have the unction from the holy one that john talked about and lord i ask that you touch jeff and sherry and their family i pray for brother joe and sister julie and i pray for harvest baptist tabernacle lord that you touch their church and god i pray for the churches in our area lord many preachers didn't come and support this meeting like they have before but god i pray that they wouldn't walk in fear and they wouldn't walk in this unity but god that they would understand that there's one church and that's why your son came to die lord i pray you bless every preacher lord that came give them a double portion lord in these last days and god for other evangelistic ministries that have came and attended and was encouraged god give them souls for their labor god i pray in this in this day that we're living in lord that your people the church would prosper and be in good health god we touch and agree that covet will be gone and god that we'll never forget this time lord when quarantines and sickness and funerals are taking place and god where vaccines are given and a vaccine can't give victory to your people only your son can god may we receive this victory and god may we walk from this place as your people with our voices worshiping you and pointing others to the cross of christ and god will glorify and will magnify your name for all you do thank you for another christian unity revival god we bless the name above all names we ask this in the name of the father and of the son and of the sweet sweet holy ghost spirit in jesus mighty name and all god's people shouted amen amen and amen come on give him praise like you mean it
