all right in this video what I'm doing here for y'all today is check this out I actually with the help of my man Justin up there we have the light tackle one versus the light tackle 2. this is a question that I've seen kind of going around that a lot of people want to know the difference between what are kind of like the upgrades or the advantages of getting a light tackle too over a light tackle one well what I'm going to do for y'all is I'm going to do kind of like a quick walk through of all of the features that you'll get on the light tackle too and I've been really impressed with this because this is actually what I consider a part two so what Crescent has done they kept kind of the same DNA of the original light tackle which is an amazing like Hall stability tracking I would say slow-moving River slash Lake boat and they kept that same DNA and just upgraded it with features and that's what I'm gonna do for you all today is I'm going to go through these features now so let's get to it all right so starting up here at the bow check these out the same handles it has as the the injected molded handles I've always liked these handles they're really strong easy to carry comfortable on your hand to carry them right here the handles by the way are the exact same in the back still the side kind of carry handles but one thing you're going to see is is this hatch so they're both roto-molded hatches but the difference between the light tackle one hatch is you know obviously this hatch is like removable you've got these little off hooks here and you can see how this hatch comes off where you look at the light tackle two's hatch what Crescent has done they've actually mounted it down with these like webbing straps here into inserts and they have like these little bungee pullovers right here they did lose the bungee on the top but honestly I didn't use the bungee that's on the top that much anyway you could always add it if you wanted to but check this out you just pull those little things over there you go so what that webbing does instead of a hinge it lets the hatch go way open so you can get easier down opening looks to be identical there's no changes in that opening it's exactly the same and this hatch has been dry for me I've been using this boat all day and I've liked it it's been dry but look what they also added on top of it so this is where you get into one of the features so what this does this lets you you know use this as a paddle part down like that or you can put the ends of your rods up I know when we were driving here Justin put all of his fly rods and you know those things are like 45 feet long and he put them all up under here and just put that around and it was awesome that was so easy in the back of the truck you don't really have that feature with a light tackle one so that's one of the features right there that's pretty cool one of the issues with this Rod storage right here where the end of your rods kind of came up it never was like because of where the hatch was it was a little too low so that was so Crescent seen that and they actually lifted it up so look at the difference in the rod storage when I put a rod on there you see it's more functional as far as holding your rods there when you look at the light tackle one it's basically really not doing that much and that it's because of how high this hatch sets up there so that didn't work so that was one of the things that was improved on and that was really good that they did that and then moving on to this console here this always had a room you could go from the inside and mount you a mount or something right there so Crescent had kind of looked and seen what everybody was doing and they actually mounted a yak attack gear track inside that area to utilize that spot so anybody that wanted to put maybe a camera mount or a trans do a fish finder and then run their transducer down inside here because this has a transducer box on the hall where the light tackle one doesn't have a transducer box and a hall so if that's something that's important to you that's one of the other features that you're going to save on that like it's an available aftermarket accessory for the traction pads and I just like the traction pads on the light tackle too what Crescent did they actually widened up this area when you look at how small these are right here kind of gave you a better feeling while you're standing on there both of them have super strong Halls as far as kiss Ops on the bottom for like holding weight in the hole and then moving out foot braces are exactly the same uh the gear tracks are exactly the same the and then you get back here to this area two water bottle holders on each side with a bungee right there and you still have your stash Pockets you can you can see I have a radio down inside mine there a little walkie-talkie you have the rod Stager butt so the Buddy of Rod will go down there that keeps the rods from sliding around under your feet and then it works perfect with these little cutouts right here light tackle one didn't have that either the side handles are the same but they integrated paddle parts so you got two paddle Parts okay here here's one of my favorite upgrades on the light tackle too this is similar to the sholey this is a high low seating but not like a lot of hollow seatings that you see where you adjust your seat up and down this is actually the seat is fixed and what they did they actually recessed down inside the hall so you get about four to five five inches of adjustment down and it is held on they got rid of the wraparound style seat holders here and they went with this cam lock system that's mounted on a security bar here in the center and it works extremely well to do it you can actually do all this on the water you loosen that cam up you don't have to take it all the way off and check out how quickly I can just drop that down and then I just pull that up and there you go this seat's not going anywhere way better so if you want to go back to the high position you just loosen that up and you see how it goes down and they did put little silencing pads in the high position but there's no silencing pads in the low position so if you do go into low position you might want to be a little quieter and you can see what Justin has here he actually and if you have one of these light tackles and you want to upgrade they used to have a ladder lock pull and those things would get loose on me all the time they worked but they could have been better and what they did they actually used this little cam system and it holds this down way better and you also see he has the high seed in here too but it is an aftermarket accessory if you currently have a light tackle and you want to get higher up you can order these cam straps and this seat and I think you can improve your light tackle the way it is this side stash tray right here is a molded in feature they kind of had something similar to that they had these little side bungees that seem to hold some Plano boxes if I wanted it there I use these a lot I actually like these little bungees and they seem to work just fine but I like how I can just toss like some soft plastic some hooks some pliers whatever I can just toss it to the side right here and they drain really well too and this is actually kind of like a little another little cup holder back here that they added in that's a little Easter egg hidden cup holder so technically this has four cup holders and one of the things when this is in the high position oh wow look at the size under here I was shocked on how much storage was under here I put my Plano boxes I put a full-on blast bass Mafia bag I could slide it all up under here and I still had room display you could see you can kind of use it here but that bar limits it and it's it's like almost the same but not as much as what you get on the light tackle too these security bars right here that holds this in and this has a dual system on it bungee set up along with a cam setup so if you want to put a cooler or bag back here you can really cinch down the cam lock which I'd seen for the first time on the sholey those cam pulls and you really want to cinch it down where you don't trust the bungee and the bungee is removable just like on this he's already removed it and obviously when the cam lock you could see how easily I could just get rid of this bungee and then go with Cam strap only back here the light tackle one had these little pad eyes right here they did remove them those pad eyes don't you guys leave in the comments if you ever use these pad eyes because I don't think those things were functional that much there's pad eyes back here the same with on the light tackle one that I haven't seen them use that much honestly the tank well is in on paper it looks bigger and the light tackle one but they're very similar the only reason it doesn't look as big is because they added a hatch to it and I absolutely love this hat you've put something in a front hatch it's always end up in the back of the boat how the heck are you going to get out here you have to pick this thing up and shake it to get it go back to the front well now you can just open this up and there it is right there and having this back hatch gives you access to something else you see they've done here they've added a spot for a power pole or a motor mount back here where this is more set up that you're not getting a power pole you have to be Innovative with some create native system back here to get a power pole but this is more like a trans amount for a trolling motor you could still put a troller mounted on this but you got to kind of make a bracket back and also you see something else these are these little frog guys right here that's what I've always called them as little frog guys and what it is it's where steering would come out for a motor or a Rudder or something like that you would drill that out so you could run internal steering on this where the original light tackle it kind of had it it was kind of like hidden away right there but it was very cumbersome to run these out from what I've seen both of them have molded in drain plugs which is always a plus these don't break off these are very solid I'm not going to go over the Halls because it's exactly the same by the way the specs are exactly the same too 12 foot four they're 34 inches wide 75 pounds and the weight capacity is around 450 on both of them so you're going to be exactly the same as far as the specs if you asked me if I had a light tackle one would I get a light tackle two yes and no it's kind of hard to say if those features make it justify to upgrade to the light tackle 2 then yes the hollow seating I really like having the ability to like the rod storage on there a lot of that stuff I could upgrade myself but if I was in the market for a light tackle a hundred percent go light tackle two over light tackle one if you don't currently have one say you're coming out of an ultralight or some other boat and you just want to get a light tackle go with the light tackle too you will not go wrong because they paddle exactly the same but you're getting additional features and the cost isn't that much more well actually I think the light tackle is discontinued so if you do get one you're probably getting it used somewhere that's all I got today everybody for the comparison between the light tackle one and the light tackle two you guys leave in the comments below if you got any questions or if you've paddled either one of these whether it's a one or two and what your opinion is because I always like here what you guys have to say let's get out of here you know Justin's up there taking photos we're out here on a little small Creek about to hit the lake so let's let's go fishing
