hi it's Jenna Tammy with an amazing creative grid ruler video correct you know in the beginning of quilting I was like a ruler a ruler a ruler just give me the one that's the cheapest money straightedge you're good to go right more that time goes on the more I realized the intelligence behind create a grid ruler is undeniable it's true and we're gonna be coming to you with a lot of creative grids rulers videos and why we love them because you know what Tammy and I we get we see a lot of notions we've done the truth is there's a ton of them that we don't select because we don't feel they add enough value correct for their cost this is yummy will not stop I love this okay and so it's a versatility and time savings to see so many projects we wanted we do I want to get I do enjoy the journey the next projects downstream so take it away tell okay did you love about alright this is the folded corner clipper by creative grids it was designed by Susan Nelson and it's fairly new this is a fairly new ruler okay new and really new to us it's very new to us and we now use it exclusively in the sewing studio we love this ruler for all piecing abstained yeah if you quilt you make you make binding right so I've got two and a half inch strips and when I'm gonna put these strips down and I'm gonna lay them all right sides together you guys you're gonna be so impressed how quick is this joining binding strips oh yeah I'm going to join them all together quilters confession I am purposely not I've not even used this room no you haven't have no idea how to do truly be surprised that's right you that's right now when I do binding strips I lay one vertical horizontal and one vertical and draw the line no that takes you long that takes I don't have time for that exactly I don't have time for that so we're gonna stack all of our strips like this perfect I'm gonna cut my sauvages off so I'm gonna take a nice clean cut here all right so folded corner clipper has markings on it like this my strips are two and a half inches wide that's normally what we kind of my end to so I'm gonna line this up with the two and a half inches see this little mark right here there's straight-up mark yes okay I'm gonna line this up there's my footprint right there so I'm right across here my little mark is right here where I made my straight cut see how this is going to cut this corner off watch okay no drawing the line now to piece your binding together these fit together like a puzzle I just I love this look how nice you fit together and the court just like that off that's correct that's your quarter inch right there it cut it Clips your corner right and then we're just going to piece our binding strips like this right together how quickly can I do binding now well it's much more accurate is very accurate I do my binding strips and I try to do that horizontal piece and the vertical one and I draw and then trying to move it to the sewing machine it should right little bit those shipped in my strips are just bugs me well yeah cuz when you fooled them wrong sites together they're not level and even pieces above it so right here we would take this to the Machine so I'll do it all right yeah perfect yeah I know you've got a couple of other doodles right yeah yes is super cool so that binding together kay well she does that I'm gonna get out my next sample for you guys this is so I like it you do the work this is a good situation we're good with this yep I'm wicked with this this is this quilters edition 770 Bernina 770 let's see what I have on here is a 57 yes okay and love this foot it's got the little fence little game like that that's like don't go past this that's so cool Tammy I love it let's check it out let's see how well just actually see how well it did well I'm sure it did well let's see how well I did right I did fine I'm sure you can't mess this up okay she's soaked corner to corner and I open this up and we're right on that my strips are just a little bit off even this is a seat bother this is right on the money we can open our seam up I use this for doing inner borders for binding outer borders anything this ruler joining that's correct anything you're trying to join a strip Jiali rural rugs where you're joining all those jelly roll strips together yeah we used to drop a line or try to cut them we cut them later it was a mess so this saves so much time he's an enormous amount of time this will do strips up to five inches quarters right here that's right all those measurements are on there okay you're Sol already just for binding okay let's do some more all right so let's make a flying geese unit okay right so normally we would draw up a line corner-to-corner that's what I call the line that's what we just did no we don't do that anymore so cool you put the square right on here this is a two and a half inch square so whatever size you're using I'm gonna line up two and a half inches just like this I'm gonna cut this corner off and you're gonna go so corner to corner perfectly okay oh gosh so flying geese now is a no big deal that is correct flying geese is easy Wow that's amazing it just can't see just ambition how much time this is gonna save you look how perfect this is when you fold this back this is perfect oh I know right now guys okay I don't normally quilt this well it's really good right okay so if we already have one on there and press to make a flying geese we're gonna turn our unit upside down okay now we're not we're gonna turn it sideways oh there we go just like two and a half inches make sure you make your cut and the same okay Lane and I just start down here yes you start here and sew up or you can start right here no you can't cuz it be turned over you're right okay you would sew from that date that's just gonna make a flying geese okay Wow you're this this is making my quilting like pretty good I like gonna make you look real good [Music] can we keep up this powder coating streak you like this of course gosh good press this open and this is a perfect flying geese yeah that's incredible cool it's so dry no we didn't drive a line we didn't have to stop and trim it we're not trying to so gage where the line is no we're not even penny wow this is go this is nice speed quilting I like that I like to accurate exactly sometimes when I go really fast cuz I'm like I got a hurry I just end up staring exactly as it says that hat right on the money so let's make a snowball block okay okay so to make a snowball block just keep in mind which side of your corner is cut off we're gonna cut one side disturb anything that's right I don't even have to touch it and I'm gonna cut both sides and now we sew both sides is about to end right there good all right Wow no I do and I'm gonna go so this alright you saw that one well you're getting that ready wow how fun I love learning new stuff this ruler amazing it is good this versatile these are all the blocks we use all the time exactly they're all basic blogs that quilters do all the tie the time all the time here we go there you go good deal and with piecing you know the whole goal is everything comes out like the points match yes you know that's the goal that's correct so this helps you get to that goal that's very obvious with this much faster it's it's highly accurate okay highly accurate look how well this is look it's perfect isn't that cool it's a binding I know alright so here's the last one the last one half square triangles we make a lot of half square triangles normally I would cut a 2 and 7/8 inch strip I would cut squares you're gonna drop a line down the middle quarter inch on either side write it in half of course they're not perfect so that you have to square them up how long does it take to make a two and a half inch half square triangle a long time a lot of work if you make them into a pinwheel oh definitely everything you wanted together let me show you okay this is two two and a half inch strips and I have these strips pressed together we're gonna take our folded corner clipper and we are gonna cut them and you're gonna sew it really yeah really what serious that's it that's it yes while she goes does that that's correct that's right that is correct Wow here we go I should be using a starter strip because sometimes yes I know better than that so let's try that again sometimes and this is a great talking point sometimes those points can get eaten up into any sewing machine or how sophisticated that's right Tami's taught me how to use a starter strips sometimes to just get the machines going forward I love that and then you're coming in with the fabric right after it oh let's get in there do we get it yep the starter strip is such it it's such it's so helpful it is helpful when it just kind of wants to dive in there okay perfect look at that that's amazing isn't that cool this is exactly let's put a ruler on that oh yeah let's put a ruler on it and let's actually look at it no okay it's all good we cut it to be perfect it will be look this is exactly two and a half inches here's the tool isn't that awesome that's it just keep cutting do you know how fast I could cut you know waiter no fabric whatsoever they're not squaring up later no I'm not squaring up I'm simply rotating my tool lining this up Wow just like this that's an incredible versatile tool that again salutely when you see the versatility the time savings to accuracy this is a no-brainer I was very upset the other night I went to a class and I did not have this baby one in 7/8 inch squares drew the line sewed on either side just say I wish I would have brought that tool I wish I would have brought that tool just get to that exactly once I'm like lat I already bought them once in my classroom once in my class stuff once in my size forget exactly it's so small so I the ruler it will be a huge time-saver for you you will love this ruler as much as we do I know yeah thanks for making me look good with that really do bad it was easy it was easy get these what I'm getting them absolutely you next time [Music] [Music]
