what is up everybody i am alex from level up plus vfx and today i'm going to be showing you how to make this blender scene in less than two minutes let's get started all right we are now in blender i am currently using blender 3.1 however you really could be using any blender version above blender 3.0 and let me quickly go over the prerequisites you'll need for this little uh landscape scene here so first and foremost you'll need the ant landscape add-on enabled you can simply do that by going to edit preferences going over to add-ons and typing in landscape i already have it enabled but go ahead and check that box and hit refresh while you're on this page you'll also want to go ahead and turn on the images as planes add-on we've already got that turned on here just so you know and then finally this is the big one you're gonna need scatter five and scatter five is a paid add-on but trust me it is worth every cent go ahead and get that one installed i'm not going to show you how to do that today but uh those are the three add-ons we are going to be using let's jump right into it so first and foremost we're going to delete all of our default geometry and then we're going to hit f3 and type in landscape and now we're going to go over to our operator presets choose on mountain two just because most people use mountain one and i mean i wanna be a bit different and now we have this random seed here we're just gonna crank this to a random value that we think will look interesting i want something kind of flat and then we're going to go to these mesh sizes click and drag downward to select both of them at the same time we're going to let me and we're going to make that a size of 5. go ahead and hit enter and your landscape is ready to be used now we're going to go ahead and scale this up to make it a little bit bigger if you leave it at the default scale it often turns out to be uh the geometry that we scatter on will be way too big so i like to scale it up by five so go ahead and click s on your keyboard drag it outward and then hit the number 5 on your keyboard and hit enter that will scale everything by a value of 5. all right now that our landscape is created the last thing we need to do is do control a and apply the scale if we don't do that all of the geometry we scatter onto it will be about five times too large and that's just no good now that you've applied your scale it would be a good time to go ahead and add a camera i've done that in the bottom corner here now let's put stuff on our geometry go over to scatter five click the eyedropper click on your landscape and go over to the preset tab and and choose the second most dense option go ahead and go over to scatter biome and we're gonna choose the wasteland number eight for this tutorial it will create a bunch of particle systems down here in the systems list and all you're going to need to do before your scene is fully complete is go to each system and turn on wind waves go one at a time and check that box you can change the settings if you feel like it's too strong by changing the strength and the speed but i find the default settings work great go ahead and render it out and you have created a wonderful landscape in less than two minutes and that is how you create a beautiful landscape in blender in less than two minutes i hope you learned something and i think this is really useful for a variety of purposes now you don't actually know a lot of what you're doing it can be very easy to get carried away with blender you're doing a lot of stuff that is you know kind of just clicking buttons and making stuff work so learning how to do this by hand is always important but if you need to make something quick this is a very good way to do it i've been alex from level up plus vfx and i hope you learned something take care
