CRAFT ROOM REVEAL! // How I organized my craft and teaching supplies

[Music] guess what i am finally done reorganizing my craft room would you like to see i will take you on a little walk around my space and show you what i've been doing it has been over a week since i started this not sure what's happening with my hair there it has been over a week and i in my head thought it'll probably be two days i usually am better at estimating than that however i did do way more than i planned to do i was just going to kind of reintegrate all this stuff shall we call it in a nice way that had found its way to the floor the counter the everywhere but i ended up going through every box every drawer every container so that's really why it took so long but i'm super happy that i did and now i will show you my space i'm super excited this is going to be a crafting space again but also i have a lot of things that i do i'm a teacher so that's like four jobs right there so this is going to be a place to do school crafts which it's always been but it got really messy so it's gonna be a spot for school stuff it's also going to be a spot one of three spots for youtube um planning creating i'm gonna film videos in here maybe some like sit down videos um it is going to be a place that i can write because i love writing and haven't been doing that lately it's going to be also a place that well i could read in here i don't know that i will but i could um and then a place to work on teachers pay teacher stuff i'm just super excited because it's really pretty and i love it so here we go okay so this is my room when you walk in the door i made that years and years ago and i just really love it even though the words are upside down they're supposed to go this way that's why it fell off one time and i just never fixed it okay oh and then there's something missing from there but i'll just fix that now that i know where all my stuff is um i have some signs and okay let me start by saying it's not perfect but it is as close as it's gonna be right now i had one of my sweet sweet sweet friends that i used to work with make me this what was she trying to say i don't know anyway here's my oh this is so much fun i got this off of teachers pay teachers and i have it ready to go back to class i just never brought it but it's a little instagram thing um i honestly cannot remember who i bought it from but if you just type in instagram poster on teachers pay teachers i'm sure you could find it and then i put little pictures of the kids in here this year though started out so weird i didn't do it so maybe once they get their pictures uh that we just took a few weeks ago once they come in on our school site maybe then i could do it anyway i have okay so when you come in oh first thing on the ground is a vase and a bag full of rocks which some may find odd but not if you like to paint rocks so i do and that's what all those are i bought them at a garage sale in like four different bags and so i had this cool empty vase and i just filled those up so hopefully i'll be painting and leaving them around for people to find okay this back part has become one of my favorite things to look at so up there i have some bins that are holding some foam stamps some completed school crafts except for like one little thing so i just put them up there there they were made out of pringles cans i'll show you them in another uh vlog maybe um they're little multiplication games anyway they're up in the middle one because i'm not quite done i have to still wrap them in paper and then just holding some awkwardly shaped like uh photo books and things like that over here i have all of my rubber stamp stuff well okay if we're being honest it's not all of it now i'm gonna well i always screw up when i do that so i'm not in this corner i still need to organize and go through some of those things they're collections of for the most part picture frames and things that i bought for my upstairs hallway that i have not gotten to yet this fabric i was gonna make pillows out of i don't know probably just sell it anyway we have a swip swap site as i'm sure many of you do and i've been posting rubber stamps and scrapbook supplies and all of the things so this is a little shelf that i put up a long time ago i painted it and i found it a garage sale i just loved it painted it and then put some pretty little rubber stamps up there but look at this paper and this shelf right here is all my paper paper it's um astrobrite paper up above that is all my cardstock holy moly right if anybody sees me in a craft store trying to buy paper slap it out of my hand and then down here i have like a cardboard that i make books and things out of um these have some of those like tab dividers this is a bunch of post-it uh plastic envelopes a bunch of um composition notebooks to make altered books out of just all the things okay then we come over here oh i hope you gave me that i have a chair in here that i've had for years my sister gave this to me a long time ago it's one of those zero gravity chairs it also used to have like a um massage feature which hasn't worked for years but doesn't matter it's still a really comfy chair so i like that's why i said i could read in here yes i could sit in my comfy chair behind there i just have stuff that is going on a shelf eventually upstairs or and i also have like um big uh what do you call it um poster board and things like that i also have a christmas gift back there that is peeking through that i'm gonna not focus on anyway this thing here was an idea that i had years and years and years ago and i asked my dad to make it for me he was a amazing woodworker and when i first explained to him what i wanted it for he just kind of looked at me like i was crazy which i'm quite accustomed to that look so it didn't you know bother me at all but he made it for me what it is is a magazine holder so you just take your magazine and you put it over the rods and then they hang and you can see the pretty titles and i just always have loved it i was always meaning to paint it black but i don't know i kind of just like it plain you see the like the color up here he thought it was gonna paint it because i told him i was going to paint it so he didn't worry about like sanding off there there's my finger like sanding off the paint and stuff because i was going to paint it over but honestly i don't know that i'll ever paint it then here is my closet i put those up above my closet long time ago the reason that the flower is different on the end is because i just like it that's all and i used to have a daisy up there like all the rest and then i just found that one and i thought you know what be different so on the inside is where i used to have all my paper now this is not extraordinarily beautiful by any means but i'm okay with that up here are just bins of like i have vinyl in there i have extra um laminating stuff i have oh like craft kits i do have some rubber stamps up in here i have two boxes i think no three boxes of things that um i just didn't want to get rid of quite yet i'm still baby stepping but the amount of stuff i got rid of was staggering then on this side i have all kinds of bins of just different memory things like tickets and pictures and stuff that i want to put in memory books then i have little bins i collect bells why i don't know i just love them and they jingle because you know that's fun and then just all kinds of other inks and um oh this is my collection of toy story and finding nemo toys some pictures that are already cut up and ready to go into memory books they're already sorted and ready these are library pocket thingies that i got at a garage sale and wanted to use somehow cleverly in my craft room this is just a bin of awkwardly sized smaller papers and like the three-quarter paper size and then all the way back here is loose or um in uh packs uh 12x12 paper and then in the way way back right over there are binders that hold uh patterned eight and a half by 11 paper then going down here i just have like uh this right here is a craft project in progress uh it's the letters h-o-m-e the o is gonna be made out of the um like eucalyptus leaf thing and i'm gonna put it over our door i just haven't done it yet it's just all the things that i've been working on down here i literally have rows and rows of these picture boxes that are filled with pictures they're almost all the way sorted and i'll do another video on how i sort my pictures after i'm telling you about a book i read this cool thing right here was made for me by my husband when we were um online teaching so that i could put my camera right there or my phone and record me doing uh things on paper underneath it for my kids and this is the um dry erase board that i used while we were virtually teaching that's a really nice one so i'm obviously keeping it i just don't need it right this second okay there's the pattern paper i was telling you about some more bins this one holds now all of my punches i got rid of two two-thirds of my punches this is what i have left projects for school this is all school stuff back there it's um stuff that either i can't use right now or it's just not ready to be used these are lids that i collected from gatorade bottles forever not really because we drink a lot while my husband drinks powerade um that i kept and then i painted and we're gonna use this game pieces because why not reduce reuse recycle and then like popsicle sticks for uh my name thingy although this year i'm using ping pong balls um these are just some other little notebooks and things like that shoe strings that um i got these at a garage sale and i was gonna make lanyards out of them forgot i had them and ordered lanyards so if anybody needs a lanyard hit me up got about 700. this is my bin of starbucks cups and they're not starbucks they're just like starbucks cups and lids that i make happy birthday cups for my kids i haven't done it this year because i we just weren't in person and then i just haven't caught up maybe i will we'll see but i got that idea from um michelle forrey she's now michelle emerson she recently got married and she's pocket full of primary this was her idea i think it was her original idea um and she did a video about it and so i copied her and just made my own labels and everything you label a little cup you put in some tissue paper and the straw that would be in the cup is a pencil and just some little candy goodies anyway down below i just have random stuff like my sewing machine sticker makers uh sewing kit and then my kids some of their old school things so that is the closet let me try to shut the closet not sure why i'm talking like that okay then we come over to here this is looking out to my backyard i have i've been around dust for a week and a half now and i feel like i'm just have poison in my lungs anyway it's just dust i used i just repurposed everything i already had as far as storage stuff in this room i spent a grand total of let's see 16 16 yeah 16 and i'll show you where otherwise i repurpose stuff i already had i have this big container and i put mr sketch markers this big container and it has binder clips i already had these two guys this picture frame i just absolutely love and i had these little like um what do you call these things just like happy cards i don't know and they have cool quotes on them so i thought i'll just change that out every once in a while i love the way that looks cd player if you are younger than age let's say 18 you may not know what this is it plays this crazy little disc called a cd disc and it plays music anyway i still have a ton of cds so that's why that's in here i have this thing that i bought long time ago and it's going to hold something fabulous one day just don't know when or what um this little carousel thing holds my remotes for my tv that my husband put up for me which i'm so happy for and i don't like the cord but you know what get over it right um i could like do an extension cord and put it all the way down no not doing it not about that so i have this little carousel it holds pens and rulers and pencils and just all kinds of little goodies then down here i'm gonna sit in my chair really quick because it's just gonna be better um down here on the shelves i just have little things um in the very bottom here right there i have a jar full of magnets next to that i have a jar full of game spinners on the second the middle shelf here i have some old journals i have some books that i just think are so pretty so i leave them there um a jar of colored pencils a jar of some more of those little tiny spools of ribbon and then some more buttons over here i have mostly just project life stuff and cuddle bug um what do you call them those uh pockets that you can press like embossing things and then just some miscellaneous um in this sizzix container i have a bunch of sizzix brass templates for embossing and those kind of things my staple gun but this whole area here is the project life which has been really the only form of scrapbooking i've been doing and i can't even say lately because not really and then my apple room spray which i love the smell of apples must be a teacher thing i don't know okay now in this corner this probably looks terrible to you but honestly i really love looking at this because it makes me happy i have down here an empty picture thing it's uh full of picture holders that i could use for either photos or i might use for um which i'm gonna call it uh task cards we will see then i have above that not one or two but four um of those what do you call them i don't even know what they're called like photo holders i guess but teachers you know that we use them for task cards so i have four of them because i bought them two different times and they were like ridiculously cheap and so i bought them all and then up here i have some teachers pay teacher stuff for putting together some um uh pins for pinterest up here just realize they have a picture that i'm gonna turn around okay for privacy's sake here i have i just put my computer in here this morning i'm going to work on some editing i have my ot light if you are a crafter you probably know what that is an ottlite gives you um uh true light true light color so that's a good one for um taking photos of things and also for scrapbooking which is why i had it originally i just have my plate that i use for painting um behind there i have a little picture from one of my kiddos that i was going to hang on the wall but i didn't have anything to hang out with my walls look fantastic don't they i have had a lot of things hanging and with tape and so those are like some tape marks anyway then moving over here i have just my little oh i have my um phone holder there i have just some miscellaneous little notebooks my little gift cards and things that i keep in there and i can run over and grab i have some papers that i'm going to cut out here um if you don't know this seller she makes the cutest little banners this one is for winter so i'm going to cut it out and put it on some ribbon and have it hanging up when the kids come in next monday the teachers pay teachers uh store is the seeds we sew she's got some really great stuff as do many others i've seen other people that have these that are really cute too these are the ones i bought then in this little bunny look these are so cute they're those um real wood uh colored pencils i don't use them because how am i gonna sharpen them i don't know i guess you whittle which i'm not a widdler by trade so i don't know anyway then i just have this uh container here that holds just some other items and just some pictures and things like that over here i have my sizzix i have some of my these are product in my store tiny fall writing prompts and for my picture that i put on pinterest and in the description i use different kinds of ways to show how you could use them and i just thought they were so stinking cute i kept them up on the shelves above i have two label and i'm going to remake all my labels in a different font so i left the ones blank that that i don't have labels for yet because i will be redoing all the labels um i love storing things in glass when possible because it's just so pretty i have my um happy planner discs i have some foam letter sets i have some acrylic flowers i have a picture of my kiddos i have lots of those i have um these wind or not windmill pinwheel straws that i just think are so cute i won't ever use them they're just there to be pretty um one of my favorite pictures of all time katie playing lion king with baby archer how cute is that anyway cute little uh picture holder too so as you go up on these shelves i just have some memorabilia some pictures that i love some books some storage containers but basically it's just um stuff that is important to me um okay then we come around this way oh and i didn't show you under here sorry okay so this corner i showed you it has the ribbons the oh yeah ribbons nobody has a problem here move on um legos that i bought to make lego kits for my kids at school i will give you uh some ideas what i'm going to do concerning that in a later video but i got my ideas from somebody else's idea so i'll share anyway oh and this that i'm running into now this container that i'm putting back with my foot is full of games these folders can you see i think you can kind of see and task cards in these that i've been working on since summer and some of them i've already taken into my classroom but they're just some games and some like morning activities that the kids can't work on oh here's my little those are some of my rocks i painted i'm definitely not um artists but i they make me happy to paint so that's why i have a vase full of rocks okay down here this container here um the top one is just pins and pencils pretty much i think i have like a couple rolls of tape in there but it's kind of things that like i have the hiccups i don't know why kind of things that i would use on a very frequent basis when i'm sitting in here the middle box the middle drawer i mean sorry is notebooks and all kinds of happy planner stuff that i've bought the bottom drawer is all post-it notes shh okay then as you move on i just have some crafting supplies um my glue gun and stuff i keep it in a bag the stuff that i use at school whoops there um so i can just grab it and go some work in progress things some photo indexing cards and things like that this one just holds some envelopes and some things that i use when i make books or things for my classroom over here is embellishments honestly it's like mostly just stuff oh and then some cards i've already made a whole in fact a drawer of cards i've already made um i used to be really into card making not so much anymore just time and i'll do it again um in the back there i did not go through those there's three of those um [Music] can't remember the brand name they're not creative memories but they're like a cropping style or i don't know but they're big um uh like canvas bags that zip and then you open them up and there's um page protector kind of sleeves in there and they hold all kinds of different embellishments so i have i think three or four of those full of embellishments for scrapbooking here are the only two tubs that i have left of like i am not kidding when i say probably six to eight tubs that i had for school stuff this one on the top for the most part is holding um parts that i bought to make things for my kids so like pipe cleaners and little cubes and things like that i do have some file folders on the top that they wouldn't fit in my crate here so i just stuck them on top in the bottom are all the things i printed out that are for different games like the ones i showed you just a second ago in the tub and they are all waiting to be laminated at some point in time okay next i have two crates the top crate holds binders that i use consistently for planning and like right in here well with the exception of this book but right in here is all foundations uh catalogs and things and this was a training i went to um and that's what this book is from as well um and then i have like curriculum standards and all those fun uh things in these binders my student data binder those things i use constantly underneath it i don't know if this is going to fall i'm going to try to not have that happen underneath it this is filled with papers that i currently think i'm going to use i'm going to put this back hold please there we go just so it didn't crash okay um papers that i think i'm going to currently use i trimmed this down to two there were four crates overflowing in here and it was ridiculous so two is still ridiculous so we'll see the only place i'm going to go at this point is downsizing i'm not adding any more stuff so if anything else comes in i'm gonna have to find a way to get rid of something in there okay behind those on the shelf there and all the way to here are containers that hold 12 by 12 paper packs or single sheets and i have them all organized by theme or by season these two stacks right here i think i've shown you before i'm positive i at least talked about it in a vlog but they are bins that i have like for instance here is my january hold on just second okay had to move out of my chair this is my january bin and it holds paper this is part of my um oh what do i call these i don't even know my daily work uh where you fold it in half for the kids they get a foldable um one page for every day of the week and then they practice reading for fluency and then this is where you can grade at the end of the week but i put any papers that are specific to january why do i have so many of those i have like two sets right there that's weird anyway anything that was specific to january i have in there like some little penguins readers theaters um an mlk article and any oh my lord in heaven why do i have so oh i know why duh because they're not all week one there's other weeks and this is just week one in here okay i'll know what it is that was a good guess but that wasn't it anyway so these are my monthly bins some of them like my august bin you can see i have little cute erasers in there oops that was just my phone uh lanyard thing nothing broke anyway i love these and i love being able to just grab one so like for january when i go back in on monday i'll take this with me and have everything hopefully that i need to copy okay then on these shelves i have all other kinds of embellishments when i tell you that this is not even a third of what i had in here i am not kidding i have downsized to 10 containers of magazines these are not the monthly ones these are the um like special edition ones those are the only ones i kept i'm getting rid of all my other ones because i don't go back and look at them but these are like the best of the best so you know i'm keeping those i have my sizzix die cuts in there i have um like photo tinting supplies chalk tools all kinds of things tags these are all embellishments um these uh tags are not labels i'm gonna redo in the same font that i'm gonna do those in up here i have the kids scrapbook uh things that i've finished which is really sad because they're 22 and 24 and i'm up to about age seven yeah seven for nathan but that's okay because i have them all organized pictures and everything i have in some um what do you call those things photo albums so they're they're there they're just not you know done and through the years my style changed and i just don't do anything the same anymore in fact i don't do anything so i am looking forward to a time when i can get back to that kind of stuff like i said i'm doing most of my stuff project lifestyle now so it's very much easier the book that i was telling you i read is that one up there can you see it photo freedom by stacy julian and it's a whole different way to organize your uh pictures so so stacy julian's way of organizing photos just really appeals to me she organizes by person and by theme rather than by date because um for example like keep all your christmas pictures through the years together because and you know everybody does their scrapbooking in the way that they do things differently but when i want to look at christmas is past i don't want to look at just one year i want to look at when my kids were little and as they get older and oh there's you know family that's passed away and i want to look at the whole scope of all our christmases together and so that made a lot of sense to me that that would be how i would best organize my photos so that's what i did and that's what i'm still doing um are any of you like me and since the dawn of digital pictures absolutely stink at printing your pictures out raise your hand my hands up i am horrible and i don't know why i guess because they're there for you to see any time on your phone currently on my phone um i have okay so how far back should i go with my crazy i don't know um on my phone currently i have almost 34 000 pictures now making that up it's a real number that i have on my phone pictures so i have them backed up in the cloud which is and i can access them on my phone but it says that i currently have 34 000 pictures stored i also have them on amazon prime if you have amazon prime if you pay for that you can upload your pictures to their storage site because i'm not sure i'll always have amazon prime or if it'll even you know be a thing in 10 more years probably will be but you never know um also have them backed up in icloud i also pay for dropbox so i have my digital photos well saved i feel like i do but um that doesn't excuse not having them printed out but how do you like how do i get 34 000 pictures printed out um also they're not all print worthy like some are screen shots of like a receipt to return pants i made that up but um some are a uh cute meme that i saw well i don't need to print that out obviously so i don't know what to do i am at a loss if anybody has a really great idea or how they have um decided to tackle that i would love love love to hear from you i guess in the most recent thing i have done which i am absolutely positively horrible at and not consistent i have tried to start with like today and go back like 100 200 pictures send them get them in the mail i've used a company called i think it's snapfish that sounds right it sounds weird but it sounds right um to get pictures in the mail i've used amazon i've used like walmart walgreens target all kinds of places and they're okay i don't know i just i don't know anyway so that is something that i'm gonna have to figure out one day that day not being today no um so my craft room i believe at this point is done it's done enough and i'm just gonna enjoy the space i'm gonna sit and i'm gonna work on my computer and i could say i sit anywhere and read a book um this chair that i'm in that rolls i have wheels i could sit here and read a book i don't know we'll see i don't know why i'm yawning um because i've certainly been sleeping a lot more this vacation i've been sleeping like six to eight hours a night which is like three nights normally for me so i've definitely been sleeping um i've had a lot of really bad headaches and i think it's just number one the weather number two the dust that i've been stirring up everywhere number three um i don't really have a number three i don't know uh just oh stress maybe a little bit of stress and crying and things like that but other than that um we're we're doing well here and by we i mean the dogs and i because my husband's working but um i'm just going to keep cleaning you saw me do my kitchen i still have oh i'm so sorry i still have my pantry to do but my pantry isn't that bad and so i can live with it if i don't do that right now it could be like a two hour project on a weekend like a regular weekend um next i'm going to tackle my closet which is very bad it's not messy bad well it kind of is because knowing coming up to christmas break that i was going to um probably take everything out of it i have just kind of been throwing things into it more than usual hold on coffee break and this is the prettiest cup i've had it forever just found it in the back of a cupboard things you find when you're cleaning um so i have been kind of just tossing things in there like i'll wash a comforter and just throw it in there kind of things but oh my goodness i'm definitely getting a headache that's the yawn for me i think it's a silent scream for tylenol anyway um i will show you probably not as much of my closet makeover because it's gonna literally be piles of clothes in garbage bags that's not fun i'll show you probably the done version maybe the before and after i don't know it's very unattractive and unappealing as was many of the other areas that i've shown you but i feel like the closet is just you know there's no good lighting in there i don't know anyway i hope that you have enjoyed my craft room tour and it's now my craft i don't know also wait hold on i have my ot light i should be i ought to be using that might oh that might be great lighting let's see if it's not then that's okay too can you see a difference no okay well let me see maybe if i slide this over isn't this fun not really okay anyway i will be filming in here probably more frequently um especially when i do like sit down videos with uh teaching stuff maybe crafting stuff because i want to get into crafting again we'll see all right until i see you again please remain positive about this wonderful world we live in not everything about it's
