Cozy Fall Reads

[Music] hey guys how are you doing today i hope you're doing amazing and fantastic and wonderful so i am tired of this weather tired of it being hot and gross and disgusting and humid and just bl i despise summer i know some of you guys are like courtney what's wrong with you you have summer break off you're an educator i i would rather have summer break off in the fall or in the spring and then have to be inside during the summer i i don't like the heat i don't like humidity i i'm a very pale person guys like do you see any sun on any of me no i'm pale so i am in the mood for fall hence some books some cozies that i'm going to be recommending you for fall time i hope it's not too early for you i thought you know it's gonna be it's it's almost to the end of august that means september's coming around and i just want to read fall things guys that's that that's all i got for you so without further ado let's get started on some of these fall vibes that i'm getting either from the cover the synopsis or just because i think it's cool to read in the fall all right the first one is fund raising the dead i mean those fall vibes guys seriously this is by sheila connolly it is the first in the museum mystery series so it says at the pennsylvania antiquarian society in philadelphia fundraiser eleanor nell pratt solicits donations and sometimes solves crimes after all murder is not good for public relations at the museum a few missing documents could be a major embarrassment when a collection of george washington's letters is lost on the day of the society's grand gala heads certainly will roll but no one expects an archivist to be found dead fundraiser now pratt is frustrated when the society president whom she also happens to be dating doesn't seem to be pushing for an investigation and when nell goes digging for answers she may uncover a long rich history of crime history and like archivals and things like that like it just gives me fall vibes i don't know if this actually takes place in the fall but it just gives me the fall vibes the next one i'm always going to recommend this series especially during the fall time you should start picking it up so you can get to the actual like halloween one soon but it is a skeleton in the family series by lee perry this is a skeleton in the family the first in the series i freaking love this series i can't even explain to you how much i love this series okay most families have skeletons in their closet moving back into her parents house with her teenage daughter had not been georgia thackery's plan a but when she got a job at the local college it seemed sensible thing to do so she settled in and began reconnecting with old friends including sid one of my favorite characters of all time sid is the factory family skeleton he's lived in the house as long as georgia can remember although no one including sid knows exactly where he came from and how he came to be a skeleton sid walks he talks he makes bad jokes he tries to keep george's dog from considering him a snack and he manages to persuade georgia to let him leave the house but when she takes him to an anime convention disguised as a skeleton of course he sees a woman who triggers memories of his past now he's determined to find out how he died with george's help but their investigation may uncover a killer who's still alive and well bad to the bone it's such a good series i can't guys i can't even like explain to you how much i freaking love this series so if you get to book three it's a skeleton haunts a house and that is the um the halloween one so you could read you know you could get there if you started in august to read the first book and then september read the second book and then october read the third book all right so what is more fall themed than apple orchards like going and picking apples i know that this technically takes place in christmas like i get it but you know me i always introduce the first book in the series to you guys to go and pick up but i have read the third book is now coming out and it was so good and you guys have to go read julie and lindsay and i promise you you won't regret it okay just in time for christmas but you know it's okay i like christmas all of the time all right blossom valley west virginia is home to smith or orca or orchards why do i have such a hard time saying that freaking word orchards winnie and her granny's beloved 25 acre farm and family business but anyway you slice it it's struggling that's why they're trying to drum up business with the first annual christmas at the orchard orchard or orcard orchard i'm tired orchard yes a good old-fashioned holiday festival with enough delicious draw to satisfy apple picking locals and cider loving tourists alike until the whole endeavor takes a sour turn when the body of nadine cooper granny's long time grudge holden nemesis is found lodged in the apple press now with granny the number one suspect when he is hard-pressed to prove her innocence before the real killer delivers another murder it's worth it please just go read it it's really good i love it so good so good i mean and it looks full next one is a salt and pepper by leslie beautiful i love this so much spices always make me think fall as well so that's my justification for this book pepper reese come on it's it's it's a series spicy shop series and the main character seems pepper come on come on okay peppery owner of seattle spy shop thinks she can handle any kind of salty customer until a murderer ends up in the mix after leaving a dicey marriage and losing a beloved job in a corporate cat crash pepper reese has found a new zest for life running a busy spy shop and t slice and tea shop in seattle's pike place market her aromatic creations are the talk of the town and everyone stops by for a cup of her refreshing spiced tea even other shopkeepers and market regulars but when a panhandler named doc shows up dead on the store's doorstep a seattle spy shop cup in his hand the local gossip gets too hot for pepper to handle especially after the police arrest one of pepper's staffers troy or tori finch for murder tori seems to know why she's a suspect but refuses to do anything to curry favor with the cops convinced her her employee is innocent pepper takes it on herself to sniff out the clues only if she's not careful pepper's nosey way might make her on next on the killer's list it's so good i love it it's so good all right and last but certainly not least you guys didn't think i was gonna have a video recommending cozies without ellery adams did you i love this secret book in scone society one of my absolute favorite series of all time i love it it's more like a literary cozy in a way um strangers flock to miracle springs hoping the natural hot springs five stars cuisine and renowned spa can cure their ills if none of that works they often find their way to miracle books where over fresh baked comfort scone they exchange their story with the owner nora pennington in return for a carefully chosen book that's nora's special talent prescribing the perfect novel to ease a person's deepest pain so when a visiting businessman reaches out for guidance nor knows exactly how to help before he can keep their appointment he's found dead on the train tracks i i love it i love the women in here i love just i just they're just so good i i couldn't i couldn't adore this more there are so many things that i've highlighted i don't know where i was at because my battery no not my battery my sd card got full but i love the things that i like highlighted in here and the fact that there are um quotes at the beginning of every chapter and they really matter in there i just you like almost every genre but you're a binge genre reader when you're on a science kick you stay with sci-fi for weeks then all of a sudden you drop that genre and turn into historical fiction how cool is that like i i kind of get that i'm a binge reading like genre it's just it's so good i love the way everything is just written and it's just i don't know it's really really fantastic and it gives you the warm fuzzy vibes and or at least it gives me the warm fuzzy vibes um but yeah those are the five books that i recommend you pick up this fall um and i hope that you hope that you liked this video um that's
