Could AC-130 Or A-10C Have Stopped The 1941 WWII Pearl Harbor Attack? (Naval 47a) | DCS

win-win 20 off black friday sale november 21 through 28th hello valued viewers i hope you're all doing very well a few days ago we did this video one f-15e versus the japanese imperial navy attack group that attacked pearl harbor in 1941 we found that the f-15 traveling at 20 000 feet at about 450 knots could drop six gpu tens won on each of the six aircraft carriers of the japanese attack fleet it was completely impervious to any attack the zeroes could get up to 20 000 feet but they couldn't catch the f-15 up and they couldn't shoot it down the triple-a the various colors of aaa on the aircraft carriers could not reach 20 000 feet effectively therefore the f-15 just sat there and bombed the carriers we had to use an ai pilot but he managed to do it in the end in game the gbu 10s their 2 000 bombs did not destroy the carriers so i said to you guys well do you think in real life the gbu 10's one hit of a gpu 10 in the middle of a carrier could that destroy it about 90 percent of you said yes it could about 10 of you said no it couldn't so we're going with the 90 and therefore we've now agreed that the f-15e could take out the japanese imperial fleet and you guys have replied you want to see other airplanes tested you want to see the ac-130 spectra gunship which we just so happen to have here you wanted to see the a10c2 warthog which we just so happen to have here you also wanted to see the tomcat the f-16 and the f-18 we can do those however i don't think there's really going to be any difference between them and the f-15e they can all carry large size bombs they've all got t-pods they can all go high they can all go fast but these ones are a bit more interesting to us the ac-130 gunship and the a-10 reason being that they are not fast they do not have the four to 500 plus not capability of the f-15 or the fast jets and so could the a-10c or the spectra gunship would they be impervious to the defensive abilities of the fleet i don't know we're going to find out and it should be interesting before we do let's very quickly remind you of the situation we have the japanese imperial fleet here it is realistic in the numbers of ships and aircraft the types we've used aren't quite right but i think they're going to be near enough also distance and the spread of them is not realistic we've comfortable together just to make it a bit more doable they have six hero aircraft carriers all traveling at cruise speed 18 knots they have two battleships and four cruisers at the front they have 10 destroyers around the sides and around the aft they're all moving as a formation and are about 120 nautical miles from hawaii we are using guam as an analog because we don't have hawaii and here is our pretend pearl harbor it's just a bunch of world war two ships uh we're not really interested in that side of it we're looking at the attack on the imperial fleet aircraft we've modelled 353 world war ii fighters and bombers as were taking part in the actual 1941 attack 75 are air-to-ground 25 are air-to-air the air-to-ground will just fly here and go and attack the pretend pearl harbor the 25 that are the air-to-air are now tested and working correctly they are going to basically go to this way point here climb to 20 000 feet and orbit and try and shoot down us here and the analog we're using as for all of the aircraft is going to be the a6 m50 it's a good fighter bomber so let's have a quick look at our armaments first we'll try the a10c it's an absolute bomb truck equipped with four times aim nine mike sidewinders one lightning two t-pod and six gpu ten two thousand pound laser guided bombs that we can change the fusing on we will be flying them ourselves as human pilots the problem comes with the speed this can do a good altitude we can probably maintain 20 000 feet with this loadout because of our big wings and relatively decent power the problem is the speed is not a fast aircraft at the best of times a completely slick a10 will outrun a zero we can probably do 300 and low 300s knots i imagine whereas the zero can't do that zero can't even make 300 knots however once we're loaded out there's a good chance zeros may actually be able to get up and dogfight us and catch us up we're just gonna have to see how it goes and on to the ac 130 gun ship we've got on the sides the 105 howitzer we've got the gal 23a chain gun and we've got the vulcan cannon here we can actually fire them but critically we can't aim them in dcs all we can do is fire them out the side at a standard aspect this means basically they're useless there's no chance we're going to hit anything with them in real life they will be aimed in combination with how the aircraft is flown and you would probably be able to hit those ships and probably even destroy those ships so we've brought along an insurance policy we have moab a 22 000 pound air burst bomb i'm pretty sure this will destroy a carrier now again it's a problem it's parachute bomb it is guided but it's ins gps guided ins gps guide it means that it cannot hit a moving target these ships will be moving the only way therefore we can use moab to hit a moving target let's get low get fast and literally drop it above a carrier deck and and hit it that way that's the only way we've got using it so guys predictions a10c how do you think it's going to go a10c yeah i think it's going to be like the f-15 uh it's gonna be unsurpassed if it can get up to 20 000 feet hey if we can get above the flack it'll definitely do damage i think you guys are in dreamland i think the zeros are going to rip them to pieces because i don't think you can go fast enough to evade the zeroes but we'll see i may have that wrong hercules ac130 damp uh c-130 goes if we can aim the guns i believe we could strip the decks of any kind of effective aircraft however uh moab attack if we could drop the moab effectively from 20 000 feet it would be great but we can't do that we've got to somehow survive the flak and the c-130 is a big target to shoot at we'll see i i'm holding out hope on that still if we can get the moab to hit it's going to destroy it but that's a big issue none of us have enough practice at aiming that thing i want nothing more than a moab attack to work but we've got something like 150 aaa guns we've got to get through and it's a big target and it's slow so i doubt it but one way or another it's going to be fun standby for simulation we're in now we're starting in the 18c stamp and simba are here guys i've got to say at this point we have been given our very own dedicated server to run these simulations on uh this is all credit to our friend scott who's offered the server it's in the usa so our pings are a bit odd in fact look at our pings cap who's in the uk is now 160. simba who is in japan is now down to 130 he's usually 300. and damp who's in the us is now down to 60. if this works properly we should be able to increase the size of our um kind of silly war games and things that we do so let's see if it works for this attack you two are going to stay high 20 000 feet plus and do laser guided bombing on the carriers okay if you can one bomb per ship should sink it from what the valued viewers are saying i am going to go and do it old school i'm going to basically sacrifice myself try and do some dive bombing and some gao 8 runs and then i'm going to come and film you guys is anyone not ready three two one go we don't know if this is gonna work but this is untested valued viewers we have no idea whether this is going to work or not brand new dedicated server of a massive expense from uh from our scott right guys i'm going to go in and do the honorable thing drop some bombs so master arm uh ccip check dms check ccip line uh counter measures i cannot remember how to use countermeasures and you know what they're not gonna make any difference anyway because these ships don't have radar or i are seeking weapons i'm running in guys guys full throttle all the time full throttle all the time you will be being attacked basically as soon as these airplanes are taking off which they are now there they go there they go look at that 353 will be taking off 353. right i'm going to be in triple-a zone very shortly hopefully it takes him a few seconds to wake the gunners up here comes a triple a here comes the triple a oh shiz i'm 360 knots no wool bird in history i don't think i'd do that push them up i'm really unfamiliar with the ccip system and i'm not sure i'm going to hit anything but i'm going to try okay oh i'm here i'm here already this is my worry about the aaa i can't go evasive not an 810 400 knots and i'm here bombs away it's gonna hit two thousand pounds okay i've taken a carry rack oh don't tell me i'm gonna miss don't tell me but i missed it how did that even happen i've got one engine out on the plus side they appear to think i'm dead and they're not firing at me anymore but that gives me an idea i don't think i've got the engine power to fly with five gbus no they're no longer firing at me just some jets and jasmine quick quick quick i'll pull up right i might still have enough power for guns oh baby one away well done simba i'm gonna come here for one run and they're gonna come track it i've still got an engine i think yes i do it's still got an engine runway just a reminder you're only shooting the carriers the carriers it will take time for the zeros to get look you can see the zero is climbing it will take time for them to get up to altitude cab running in guns guns guns now let's see if we can take out a few uh planes at the same time this one's gonna be planes on it yet but oh that's satisfying oh laser firing altitude altitude pull up pull up i just nailed a bunch of um zeroes how's your bomb doing simba come to have a look i actually missed because i masked the pod yeah that's what it's gonna you've got four you've got enough bombs guys keep doing it if you're wondering why the zeros um aren't shooting me oh look at that guy i shred into pieces you're wondering why the zeros aren't attacking me there's this annoying sort of bug thing where they because i've been shot they think i'm dead and therefore they don't attack me but i'm perfectly i'm not dead i'm still going a bit so it's annoying but okay guys i'm gonna go do some more strafing runs i'm running seven thousand feet and there's triple a go oh my god there's a lot of triple a going up this is very very exciting it's very exciting look how many planes have got up the boys are still well above the zeros the problem is the zeros they're world war two planes uh you know they've got less than a thousand how much zero have left a thousand horsepower i think compared to the a-10s which has tens of thousands of horsepower you know it just takes a long time for a wall bed to get up to 20 000 feet [Music] [Applause] the first warbirds are getting to your altitude guys make sure your full blast and get rid of those bombs as quickly as you can browser this is what we're worried about they're hooked on to you guys if you have to put the nose down and get some air speed in it the zeros are slow because they're they're climbing they're only 150 knots okay simba's speed is good damp's coming in if you can't get the t-bone and stuff working down there just go dive bomb it is effective it is effective let's even get it working properly first these guys are going for damp but they're nowhere near this guy's going for simba look he's latched on december's tail but he can't catch him up you've got dealt 100 knots on them simba so so far at the moment at least you're invincible [Applause] damn's having some disagreements with his tea board i think yeah for some reason that's not going to point target and i can't fire the laser all right just go to ccip turn the d-pod off go to ccip and just dive bomb the thing make sure you've got the weapon selected it's perfectly effective doing it that way you've got to keep real fast though because the triple a will shoot you simply still goes on his tail but his speed is really really good wow sim but look at the zimmer speed triple a on simba on timber that is an aggressive dive careful not to hit your own bomb remember always keep a tiny bit of positive g okay about to rip your wings off goodbye out you go can you get it on target yes damn oh i missed it missed it was like 20 feet off the side round to go again that and now you got the triple a on you you're here you're good oh my god look at the triple a now that is a site value viewers that is a site you don't often see oh no damn shut down jetson go goway jetson go goway you don't have the engine power to sustain those bombs so the top left whoa i wish they were explosive they might have been hit right so as soon as we go low valley viewers the triple-a nails us and the zeros nailers there's nothing we can do look at the bullet travel time of the galway not the best shooting i've ever seen that's when we're doing it damp so so far myself and damp have taken out one carrier between us owned simmer's got his own problems he's lost altitude and it's hard to get at that altitude when you weigh that much without many bombs oh that's getting shot i was in the window this is what i thought might happen you're gonna have to drop the bombs are zimba eventually they're gonna get up to altitude and get you going you've got you've got uh potential energy go drop your bomb ccip zimba okay they think you're dead that's a useful bug you have a reason michael you have to drop your bombs in by because you're going to run out of energy i'm ready making a run you're going to run out of energy jets and bombs galway jetson bombs galway he's going to do it it's going to be an american hero bombs away good here another carrier down another carrier down keep flying simba two carriers down it's been ugly but come on come on keep that energy up no no no no no no no no no don't grab for it you've got time you've got time you've got one engine left chasing bombs just some bombs go to guns okay and oh the bombs refused no oh what a mess guys what a mess okay let's do you know what you know what can we help you the japanese didn't kill me i killed him but that's important that's important to us right i went in kind of kamikaze style and then we did i did kill one carrier one carrier is down i know it's not down but we've agreed that one two thousand pound bomb would kill a carrier and it would become an effective especially if it hit any of the lifting gear but after that first run i was dead because the triple a is too thick you're a hundred and something guns firing at you damn couldn't get his teapot working he's literally just installed the mod for this so the module so you know you can't really blame him uh and then he went kamikaze and had zero effect just got shot down simba was doing it properly he can actually use the this module the problem is eventually eventually those a6s get up there and they just chase them down because they can always even if they can't go the straight-line speed of the a-10 that a10 has got to turn in at some point and therefore they're going to cut the corner and and get him and there's nothing he can do about that and they will eventually gun him to death he's only got four missiles so he can't really defend himself against 300 aircraft i'm sad very sad to say an a10 has basically no effectiveness against this you know you take one carrier out and then you're pretty much dead however you do it high or low no effectiveness next we're on with the cb the c130 i'm pretty sure we already know how this is going to go but we're going to try anyway we're now in the ac 130 gun ships we've got like i said the howitzers and guns and stuff however we can't aim them so there's nothing we can do about them just spray randomly to the starboard of our aircraft or port side uh we've got three of us we've also got our moabs most importantly and we're gonna circle around the carrier group we go back for a diving attack behind and try moab them from low distance that's the best we've got two ones in rumbles full power right follow me boys to freedom and beyond first of all we're gonna keep out with you because i'm gonna stay away from those zeros look at those howitzers attack attack takatakataka attacker all right so i'm going to set up the bomb so let's get the cargo doors open cap's cargo door is open ready for moab deployment sir i've lost one of you i don't know who it is okay first thing guys we're gonna try our guns so let's go and set up our stations let me see if i remember how to do this okay we've got check we've got check check okay this should be interesting this tube cap is barring okay appears i can only adjust the howitzer that's fine let's put that back up there but those are my aiming radicals for my weapons so you've got to aim it by flying the plane basically now this was saying valley viewers about the chance of us ever hitting anything is basically zero because this is the only way we've got of doing it i'm going to try getting closer so do i want to aim in front of the ships or block oh splashes on the ships splashes from the howitzers how on earth do i aim in front of them this is so hard value i'm flying the plane to aim it okay i'm firing at him get some get some you sons of bees i've got my lead all sorted i'm gonna have to go point blank guys it's the only way i can do this i'm going point blank i've got about as much ability to aim this thing as well nothing especially impossible i'm gonna have to do fly like this oh look i can see damp spraying or one of your boys spraying has anyone anyone got a single bullet on one of these ships yeah i didn't think so i'm putting 105 rounds in their vicinity that's good news i can see you but it's spraying and hitting but tell you they're not getting very close all right i'm gonna set up a real close orbit i don't care about overspeed ah triple a's coming triple a's coming evasive countermeasures oh god i'm dying guess some okay i mean point blank get some your hits hits hits on the hero real life actual hits yes i said it valued you as real life hits never have i tried something as hard as this and i've tried all sorts of weird stuff and i hate i hit an took 18 moab drops but we killed a plane oh jesus crossed that was ridiculous guys so guys ready to summarize at the end of that because at the end of the day this is valuable science that will help people on their life journey a10c no you get one bomb away whether you're high or low you'll get one bomb away then you'll either get chewed up by zeros at twenty thousand feet or chewed up by aaa if you try and go down low simple as that there's no escape from it the c130 in real life i couldn't do it either if it was up high it would have a few hours of shots then it would go chased down by zeros and killed if it goes down low in drops is moab it's immediately killed by the millions and millions of rounds of ammunition well that you're literally looking at now and it's just not possible at the end of the day you need to be able to a go 20 000 feet plus and b go over 400 knots which none of these aircraft can do simple as that drop the bomb bomb's dead bombs dead so just doesn't work simple as that well it was interesting science anything to add from damp and or simba it was fun yes it was it was fun wasn't it boys i've never seen so much angry little japanese guns sparring ass lots of anger um so if you value viewers or if you're a military force want to prevent this by going back in time don't bring an a10 i know it's got a big gun but it's no actual use in this and don't bring an ac130 spectra doesn't work bye
