Costa Rica Hidden Gem - Nicoya Peninsula Tour 2024

[Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] what's going on everybody this island hopper tv coming to you from the nikoia peninsula this town that you're looking at right here is us arriving in santa teresa it's a really popular surf destination with backpackers from all around the world in this travel tour we're going to show you around santa teresa go out to montezuma beach show you cabo blanco and tortuga island which is really the best for last first thing i did when i got here is ask someone about getting some wheels to get around so this guy picked me up on the quad to go take me to a golf cart rental so here's the golf cart as it turns out this just didn't have enough horsepower for me so the next day i ended up replacing it but to start out with we did get the golf cart all right so now we have the uh golf cart it's about 85 a day if you pay cash so there you go and we've arrived at the beach this is one of many beaches here [Music] beautiful beach santa this little goofy dog i don't know whose dogs they are yeah yeah the ocean's got some work to do to get this one to be a beach [Music] it's getting there sands of time in fact if you guys wanted to know the name of this one playa mar azul there's a few beaches down here so i'm actually walking out here to this uh peninsula bahia uh varagona so it's bahia baragona this peninsula here just kind of walking out here with this sunset see what we can get wow look at this it's a nice show oh my gosh what a place all right guys what do you guys say we check out some of the accommodation around montezuma at night so here's the cocktail pool we just got out of it and there's a big truck there he's kind of bringing up a big load of dirt right now but they also got a jacuzzi i just talked to the uh guy who built this place juan he said he's got eight units here you can see there's like the little nest two-story nest if you want to just relax in the jungle literally telling you guys you go up the mountain it's in the jungle up here there's nothing anywhere near except for this dang truck but look at it called the chill house chill house look it up that's all i can say look it up so the next day we headed over towards montezuma and on the way to montezuma just above the town is a waterfall and some hanging bridges that's what you're looking at right now i'll just show you what it looks like from above this is with the drone you can see there's like three different pools of waterfalls trickling down that you can explore when you hike up to the montezuma waterfall so as you can see we've traded in the golf cart for the pioneer 4 by honda it's a buggy as they call or it by side anyways this is exactly where we're at right here on the peninsula if you look right there this is all the costa rica there's hawkhouse san jose is in here that's where we're at anyways this is montezuma beach we uh cruise down here in the buggy from santa teresa let's go down here to this beach here just kind of scout it out there's a couple beaches up along here there's also a waterfall [Music] lots of coconuts a few beach bars oh yeah beach town fire going this is really backwoods out here like isolated even more so than santa teresa oh parquet hostel laundry get some laundry done i'm gonna go down here into the uh water just kind of fill it out and then walk up to the town right it's got that pacific weather you know that pacific ocean weather oh yeah all right so we walk around here that looks like there's another beach over there let's walk up the hill here to the town they do have hostels and looks like some hotels too like bungalows or something this is the town montezuma this place people knew about it would probably really become something it's like hotel montezuma the very bottom of the peninsula chicos [Music] souvenir maybe this is what the uh caribbean side costa rica looks like i've heard this is very similar to this area i've not been to the caribbean side yet supposed to read what we got over here cafe organical your way to get down here cocolorist restaurante and bar open the event of a tsunami an evacuation zone risk the bar let's go down here reception book your shuttle now this is actually where you come to take the jet boat over to hakko which is something we will be doing wow look at this little chill spot voila how are you [Music] come or i should have said um [Music] buenos dias or something oh wow there is another beach over here [Music] [Music] it took me about 45 minutes in that honda to get here now i did get lost a couple times plays a little bit of a factor but there's also some road construction going on could could be faster especially if you're in a real car oh yeah we already made it to the other beach it's gonna look a little bit bigger hola some horses fresh water coming in this is costa rica oh yeah better dog on the back [Music] now let's go in here [Music] chicos chocolates and one of the cool things we got to do was watch the turtle release so they have these little baby turtles that they release right into the ocean for the very first time and it's cool to watch them march towards the sea and into their new domain their new habitat and this is a look at the town of montezuma at night and you can also see that we went out for dinner and got some fresh lobster so that was pretty good and what we're actually doing now is heading to the cabo blanco natural reserve but you can see the road heading out there definitely is a bit rough but when you get there there's howler monkeys sorts of different wildlife this is just a look at a eco resort right there in between montezuma and cabo blanco look at this lodge here this is really in the middle of nowhere you want true beach retreat this is it deep in the nikoi peninsula it's called the kalala lodge we're actually just getting lunch but a cool place man look at that let's see lodge [Applause] see how these swings try this one some sort of mushroom yeah so as you can see we're out here at cabo blanco the natural reserve and we see some monkeys in the tree or we hear them but it's hard to get a sight on them until they finally make themselves available to my eye i finally come across them in cabo blanca you never know what you're going to find but typically it's monkeys you'll also see some birds and some little rodent type creatures maybe even uh anteater or jaguar if you're lucky some sort of termite so anyways the next day we woke up at the cabanas el hardine uh right here in montezuma beach we were going to go to tortuga island today uh first off we're gonna get some breakfast and see some monkeys the cactus growing out of his mouth so as we were walking to our speedboat we saw two vultures eating a fish anyways we're going to tortuga island now all right now as you can see we're headed out to tortuga island so we're on our way on a speedboat right now victory [Music] yeah so i just want to show you guys around isla tortuga once you get here they do have wi-fi but you have to pay for it but maybe many of you won't want to come here and use the wi-fi [Music] majina yes [Music] so yeah this is what it looks like over here for two island [Music] you can also uh rent these chairs here but as you know i'm headed over for the wi-fi code just so i can look for hotels because after this we actually have to go to another town so from here we're driving to another place i don't really want to leave montezuma or santa teresa because i love it so much but i am excited to see well punta reinas and then uvita and uh yeah hoco maybe but dominical and manuel antonio so it must be done so we'll see oh we got volleyball over here so this is the end of the beach here just gonna walk back this way i didn't have much luck well they got coco locos those are coconut juice coconut water and uh rum really popular around here i think they even put a little ice in it so imagine like taking a coconut pouring rum in with the coconut water and then drinking out of that with a little bit of ice that's a coco loco and i know most of you guys are like hey that's kind of a good idea and i agree so i gotta find the white tent if i really want to make a bathroom visit i got the banana boat cool this is just like a cool place to hang out on this tour i think we're going to be here for like a couple hours so you kind of get here and you have enough time to settle in see what they say yeah look at this place it's like the co-fee of costa rica kopibi island in uh thailand because after all they're both on a golf right phuket island [Music] there's the prices of the coconuts all right i think this is it all right guys that's going to wrap up this episode of island hopper tv from the nikoia
