Coral Island: Meet Emma | Early Access Let's Play | Episode 1

hey y'all welcome to the first episode of coral island I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to dive into coral island in Early Access with y'all I've been waiting for this game for a really really long time so without further Ado let's get started with a new save uh so we'll hit play and so first up is of course the character creation which is always my favorite in any game I'm they've got different body types for you they've got different body mass so there's a whole bunch and um pretty much any kind of customization you could possibly think of in that regard um so yeah there is a whole bunch here to play around with which I'm really excited to do as a heads up I did get to play the Alpha version of coral island however I can't talk about any of that considering there are ndas and all of that so if I roll through this really fast in certain cases it's because I've possibly already seen it so as a heads up for that but let's get started so eyebrow Style so there are different styles and then the customization when I was rolling through quickly before I started recording there are some things that aren't in yet so I like lip color customization is not fully in so that is something just to kind of Bear in mind as you're going through okay so let's do I think I think this is still my favorite Maybe yeah I think one is still my favorite and oh you know what I want to do first let's get the hair done with the hair color so I can customize the um everything else you know what I just realized though I never fully thought of a name for her I should have done like a long time ago I've just been so excited um I named pretty much all the other characters I've been like fooling around with and like testing things out for have been Plex but that's obviously that's gonna be the the Stream character because that's the way I roll uh so now I've got to think of a name for her well I'm simultaneously creating her which will be fine oh that's the color I wanted I wanted something like not ashy blonde but a little warm something something more like that and you can twist by the way which I really like [Music] like that for now do do that ends up looking a little if I do this and this isn't pure is so it's not pure uh like the the white blonde kind of thing so maybe something more like that this reminds me of a uh Dai before we got custom colors the way that we have them now for like certain mods uh there was there was another way to get it and one of them had a color actually but I used a lot that looked like that so for memory sake we're gonna go with this you can by the way of course use um the pre-done colors but this is me we're talking about I'm gonna use the Character Creator to the full extent okay um I don't know I think I'm gonna go lighter on the eyebrows but I don't think I'm gonna go like super light I do want them to be warmer though because their hair color well it's cool it still has a smidge but it won't maybe something like that because if I do like that's a little too that's not bad maybe I'll go with that okay Eyes eye style it's that style that oh that's really pretty I think I want to go with three there's four one two and I think we're gonna go with three eye color maybe we'll go with them you know what seafoam green has kind of been my color recently so maybe something along those lines I think it's gonna need a little bit more blue oh that's pretty okay then nose all right so I like doing noses from the side and the front so this will get a little confusing but that nose is cute so one was cute and like two three is nice or oh I like four from the side a lot uh and then I don't know I think we're gonna go I think we're gonna be hmm I'm gonna go into one okay lip style so there's a one two three and four hmm I'm gonna stick with one for that and then jaw so you got that jaw this jaw [Music] um yeah we're gonna stick with this okay so we did hair clothing so these are all the options there is a like uh other outfits and stuff like that that you can get um however this is like you're starting off outfit so do I want this one or this one like I can't I can't decide seven or eight eight that literally took me far too long to figure out okay uh so let's do name I think I'm gonna go with Mio um no because so Sandrock is Jade and then okay so I think I'm gonna go with Emma literally I sat here for the longest time trying to figure it out um so we've got Emma and then Farm name so Sunshine is San Rock so the other one I like to go with this sunny side up I don't know why actually sometimes I do it all one word like that um or we could go with orange like also Coffee Works [Music] go like that let me just call it sunny I feel like you're literally debating everything uh honestly I think we might keep with the sunshine theme I kind of like sunshine still I think we're gonna we're gonna just kind of keep that a commonality between my farms for now are you sure you want to make this character you can change Chloe's own hairstyle later yes please you leave pokyo to start a new life on coral island [Music] there we are [Music] [Music] hey Emma welcome back to Coral Island your new home it's been a long time it's good to see you again I can't remember the last time we had a visitor I trust you had a wonderful Journey with Mr wataru uh yes it was safe and comfortable so I do like that like they do give options if it's weird it feels like I've done this before maybe in another life if you do many many many many many many playthroughs you could keep just picking this answer and it would make sense but it was safe and comfortable great I expected nothing less for Mr wataru he's the best sailor you can ask for you must be quite tired from the journey let's head over to the new your new place [Music] foreign floors are done oh my what a coincidence we've just finished patching things up here is this the new farmer that's me [Music] that's right Emma this is Dinda and Joko there are local Carpenters nice to meet you Emma hello Emma it's always exciting to welcome someone new to our little Island [Music] indeed Emma this will be your new house it's a bit run down but hey excuse me mayor Connor did you just say we did a poor job here [Music] and no I mean he really did just step in it though he really did don't worry I'm just joking unfortunately we could only patch up the roof so it doesn't leak and replace some of the rotten wood if you want more Renovations you can visit our shopping house in Hillside Northeast of here we won't charge you for it but you need to gather the materials yourself once we restore the foundation you can decorate the house the way you like we place some complete instructions in your mailbox thank you well then it's about time we head home see you both around take care Emma and good luck bye as you can see people are very excited that you're here doubly sorry for Sam you should pay him a visit once you're more settled in he's the owner of the General Store in town and that is the field I'm guessing you'll spend most of your time for it I love this it's so pretty I really like the way the trees look and everything [Music] foreign how are we gonna it's so big it's messy now and also huge Connor but I'm sure you'll take care of it in no time oh poor Emma [Music] and once you harvest your crops you can put them or anything else you have to sell here in the shipping bin I'll ship the contents overnight to the appropriate stores in town and you'll receive the funds the following day [Music] I'll be going now so you get some rest oh since you just got here you probably haven't bought anything you need for farming yet here's a little something from the town to get you started you got a can ax Sky scythe and random seeds if you need anything else I'm at your disposal come to me with problems questions some mean soccer welcome home oh thanks Connor all right oh I'm sorry at home sorry it looks like the first thing to do is plant 10 seeds and water them and then crafting so you can already craft and the map is already look at how big this map is it's huge already whoa it zooms in and out really nicely so these are all the oh my gosh there's so many people to meet and then mastery is I believe like the level of system Okay so we've got a good grasp of everything now the first thing I want to do is re it's going to sound weird but like everything has to go in like certain spots in my backpack slash toolbar so I normally I want to put these two here um let's put the Scythe here okay because these two I'm not gonna well these are all important but I feel like yeah let's do that normally every game that I play like this I have um one thing like one setup for everything and that's kind of important to keep my sanity so I'm like trying to get it early in the game I really like that the uh that the toolbar is numbered though oh not every game does it where you can see what the keys are um so it's actually really nice if they do that here in order to repair your house we'll need you to gather some materials 50 wood 20 stone after you've collected head over to the store okay perfect however before we do anything as far as that goes we need a storage chest I need 25 Wood and 10 trash [Music] let's get this trust me when I say storage chest anyhow anytime you play a game like this so if you're new to farming Sim games um the the first thing I can't suggest enough it's literally a chest a sword's chest two if you can if you can build two right away that's probably optimal to be honest um so yeah just definitely get yourself as much of this as you possibly can and as far as uh storage goes because it goes like you're gonna need it especially because your backpack is tight always um in the beginning okay it's an industry hopefully my backpack doesn't fall at this point you should be getting divorced to it okay I'm not I do know we should get the seeds planted too okay let me see so we're Clarity oh no see see this is why this is dangerous um is it only that okay I just want to see what the crafting says so I can build this but it looks like because you can't I don't think you can just draw unless my question is right if I put you here can I you can't like grab stuff out of your bar and drop it and then come back and get it uh so I think we're gonna have to sacrifice this to the trash gods for a minute and then craft one of these let's put it like I could put storage oh I guess I could put storage here which would make the most sense this oops General until I start um getting more organized okay I always like I think the trash seems kind of handy so we're gonna leave the trash in my inventory for now so we have 15 seats okay so um what else can I craft so far I just want to see so we can craft that that fence gate sign okay let's do can you see what these are foreign what is it three by three squares those are my favorite for planting I don't want to do this one well I don't know if I want to put Pathways around it like this stuff I normally do I like to do like full-blown Pathways I'd say oh okay thank you for that extra trash this is nine maybe I'll go this way with it I wonder if a silo is gonna be like one of the first things you need to get like in stardew Valley silos are literally like the number one priority because like you don't want to get this stuff and like Harvest it all until you need it or it can be stored in a silo because it gets stored in the thylar and starting so I'm kind of curious how similar the two are um okay so this do we have we have 300 gold which isn't a ton we could theoretically buy a few more seeds I think maybe but we'll see let's do I technically only need three okay let's water these this this this okay oh that sound is so nice it's so calming okay sorry I've gotta go visit Sam's General Store and we've got to harvest the first crop okay perfect sorry I'm gonna fill up my water bucket and we should probably like I don't have a ton of stamina left and I know I've got this which looks like it'll give 70 stamina I don't want to do that just yet like I don't want to eat it until I need it so I think what we're gonna do is store that and that and then oh I guess it's just sitting in there let's take a quick look around so I think it looks like there's a whoops a path art oops I wanted the scythe yeah so it looks like there's a way out here to a different part of the island and then can I actually see it on my map yeah so it looks like if you look at the map there's a way out down here here and here and it looks like there's a walking path along the entirety of my property so I'm guessing the first thing that we should do as far as like it makes sense to do is clear a path around um everything like so then that way we have access to the entirety of the property because like the one thing I hate in these kinds of games is getting stuck um like late at night trying to get back and I can't because I never cleared my social path if that makes sense it's nice so that it's there's a perimeter like a clear-cut perimeter that actually is going to make things uh easier to stick that while I'm here I don't know if things are I'm gonna guess things will respawn on the pro oh my gosh is it a pigeon I disappeared and chill in next door hi little guy how are you I should probably go say hi to all the villagers but I got priorities this page is technically my neighbor right okay I could I could well you know what I know it's a priority goodbye little Pidge I'll see you later so the stuff I can at least run around a foundation maybe you can build something here someday maybe I'd like to what can I build there I have an can't get over how pretty everything is we just got started I can all just look so pretty okay so this way uh if I look at my map now because like I had mentioned I did get to play the alpha I'm a little bit more on the up and up where stuff is but normally I would literally be more lost and I know a little monkey come back I won't say hi uh goodbye uh normally I would be more lost than I could even describe what is I got nothing but I opened it okay can I walk through why am I walking through the woods like this this is probably very rude uh I'll take the shrimp can I eat it oh it feels spongy is it a okay I'm gonna eat it good oh we got a little bit more energy oh what is this I think it needs thank you oh wild seed okay so you can get wild seeds so we're only gonna need to then get two more and we'll have two full plots which is probably a better idea than buying seeds right now so we can save money oh hey it's nice to see you again it'd be nice to have more Farmers here being able to get local produce would be a game changer that's what I aim to do provide local produce what does she mean by again oh no am I stuck there we go unstuck dude okay so we can't get through there if I go in here um bath house it's temporarily out of service can I look around though at least it's so pretty look at it oh is this the changing room or just somebody's oh it's like a guest room oh that's really pretty like that's like that's gonna be my reaction for like the rest of the day just stop it's so pretty I apologize in advance if this episode feels like it's just me on repeat going trash and hopefully in front of people see what their feelings are on us being a little Trash Thief you know because I got questions are you okay with me uh touching all your trash am I gonna get crops aren't growing like they used to hmm okay I'm not really known for my patients but I'm gonna I'm gonna take Anne's advice and be patient uh oh the new neighbor so someone really was moving into town I couldn't believe it until I saw you myself I don't often go to that part of the island where your farm is it was overgrown the last time I visited what a disaster how is it so far uh it's still overgrown maybe a little less [Music] okay what is a Luna loon Square I don't know if I can is that I don't know I thought that was an invisible wall for a second area closed off okay so this is where festivals will happen oh that's kind of nice actually that there's an actual like closed off spot for festivals um honestly that's probably going to make things a lot easier as opposed to like running around trying to find where in town the festival is going to happen I'm gonna assume not every Festival will happen there but I do like that there's more of a like designated spot if that makes sense whoa wait is she walking by here okay Yuri's not far anything no who are you you're the new farmer see no offense but you look like you've never held a tool in your life oh buddy I don't know why Conor lets anyone move in our community is great as it is well maybe I'll make it better attitude rummage through your trash in front of you and see what you thought about that oh no what's Happening so pretty oh it's so good okay let's go so how many people have I met so far if I can find people okay we're making progress through this kind of a little how cute is that I hope we get something like this for our farm like you can hang like stuff like that I love this I've normally I love us like most Aesthetics and games but I am not gonna lie I am pretty over the top obsessed with the aesthetic in this one it was one of the reasons why I um backed it on Kickstarter way back when just because this game seemed just so pretty and it is that pretty more mushroom oh who are you hello to you too getting around all right coral island is kind of big so get your bearings can be pretty hard at first it is you'll get used to it in no time I have no doubt thanks Macy I am not gonna lie it it feels huge especially when you're like new and it gets a little overwhelming because you're like where am I supposed to go like they did such a good job with sand versus can I touch this ball too that's not the oh I can yay okay um this I probably should just not waste my stamina but at the same time you only get so much stamina in a day and you might as well use it and we're cleaning the beach right right [Music] sorry it doesn't look like there's any oh can I take that they're crap oh they look like they'd attack you in a heartbeat it might not still they kind of look like ferocious crabs in a good way kind of cute and adorable too all at the same time diving right there's diving oh so much to do it's a little time have you checked out at the diving yet no it hasn't unlocked for me yet can you let me dive I'll go diving no okay I'm going to take flowers do I have no more room I am fine welcome back what is this I wonder can I uh inspect no okay this looks like it could be interesting it when you're tired now I insist that you rest here all day all day I can't lose a day okay so don't push your stamina Beyond its means oh wait no it didn't push me but I have no I have no stamina okay so good news they let us wake up bad news or like they they we didn't actually because it's Tuesday too so the good news is we didn't lose a day but the bad news is that I literally got no stamina you passed out from exhaustion attached to your medical bill please don't overwork yourself remember to take a break and never miss a meal hope you feel better okay uh 20 compartments okay so new bag it's 500 coin that's expensive and they did charge me because we had 300 yesterday and we never spent it so beware go to bed on time because otherwise it costs you money and don't overdo it because once again it'll cost you so we're gonna eat one of these I have a question [Music] um okay so it doesn't look like you can eat from your inventory so that's something like to bear in mind um in some games you can just pop some food while you're in your inventory but this game it looks like you have to keep it on your Hotbar uh now I do want to keep going and like visiting people and meeting everybody and like learning the area however I would like to not run into a situation like last night so we're gonna take my own gosh darn it advice and we're going to do this let's do this this site so far is actually seemingly uh more useful than I thought it was gonna be it is this like I feel like a lot of games it's kind of one of those like unused items okay so if I can get through here then we'll be wonder I assume this is all procedural like it's all pre-done so like everybody gets rain today like on day two and it's not randomized um if it is randomized whoops but if it's not randomized it's actually a really nice gift because it can take a long time to like get basically all the stamina you need in games like this so the fact that like day two you can kind of concentrate on things like this and not necessarily worry about your stamina quite as much as really okay we're gonna need to eat let's eat a shroom we'll eat another shroom and we'll eat one more of these I should be able to make these can I make these yet uh no because I don't have any because didn't it say I can't just make them at all anyways okay I don't know if you can make those right away sway we are getting somewhere see I definitely want to Silo soon just so I can feel more comfortable um harvesting this stuff I think it all like so this is fiber and then it doesn't look like I'm picking up anything else so okay so we got the FI we got a little bit of this cleared away I think we're gonna make a a run for it this was a this was a ridiculous ideaplex why do you do these things for Emma she's judging you right now I am too okay sorry through here and so good news is we've now got more now let's put sap in fiber I don't know this this and I'm gonna hold on to these things I'm Gonna Save one upgraded I'm so excited I want a pretty house so badly all the animals are inside I was gonna check out the The Coop today looks so cute let's go up here I believe is where the carpenter is located and I want to take this before I forget see it says open I love that close on Saturdays I mean I don't blame you you should take Saturday off that's kind of where they don't take Saturday and Sunday need two silver bars Stone and scrap I don't know where we get silver bars from we're gonna have to find solar bars I'm assuming we're gonna unlock mining at some point soon and then we can do that okay ah shots oh Plex you can't buy these things Emma while Emma needs it Emma doesn't need it need it okay stage zero style one that implies a that there are multiple stages which would make sense but B that there are multiple styles awesome thank you I'll work on it right away Joko honey a slight change of plans Emma's here and they've collected all the materials let's head over there and repair the house [Music] well that's awesome Emma let's do it yay [Music] [Laughter] Dinda and Joker repair start repairing your house how about it looks it feels more comfortable right now let's move little cutscene oh my goodness [Music] yeah that old thing was really heavy I know I looked it we're finished what do you think Emma it looks brand new thank you is it I'd say we can do better look no more moldy wood we replaced all of it yay we also built a new foundation for the house that means it's strong enough for more furniture now you can start decorating to make things comfier speaking of decorations we have a furniture store in town but since there are fewer tours we don't stock have any options anymore no one's buying you know check it out though you might see something you like if you want we can go there right all right that's enough you'll scare the kid [Music] oh sorry Emma I got too excited there we love that story even got some of my cousins helping out there it's a family business for us feel free to visit when you have the time it's in the middle of the town you shouldn't be too hard to find all right that's all for money are you forgetting something he's thinking oh yeah the TV [Music] we threw in a free TV for you free of charge [Music] it's old and bulky but it still works perfectly foreign it gets a good amount of channels too like this weather uh the old hit the TV trick well sometimes you gotta smack at a good at a good 60 degree angle like this the channels are very useful like the weather report on the Weather Channel so you can skip watering crops on rainy days to go fishing or something I don't know what you like to do but you get the idea and there are variety shows too love them some shows have useful tips if you pay close attention I guess it see because it was closed earlier and now it's open I love everything about that it makes things it makes it so much easier like to see from a distance whether or not a store is open I mean generally you get a good impression of if wait where am I going if something's going to be open or not um I think I gotta go here I'm there I think we can just go down and around um but it's just really nice when it's labeled so clearly like that plus it feels more real that probably sounds weird but it kind of does because like stores don't they have open and closed signs this is for lease I wonder what was there you are closed no okay Monday through Sunday closed on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays coming back tomorrow I'm coming back tomorrow wonder what's here it says Furniture this is the furniture store It's gotta be hello you must be the cousins indoor and all right let's look at indoor first oh okay I like that you can see like if you bought the entire Style this is what you'd find kind of thing that's really cool so this one apparently the preview is coming soon Art Deco oh I like art deco oh that's not that couch oh this is really nice the Oriental style I love this those are so pretty hmm wait hold on I really like the umbrella stand and then beached oh man the beach style kinda has my heart right now I'm not gonna lie this so far might be my favorite and then we've got oh basic stuff cool so I could just buy like a basic sofa table okay cool okay this might be the bed I have I don't care Carson's okay so this is still preview cool that bed looks so vibrant okay so I think so far I love this though that couch oh that is really nice too I can't wait for the preview so so far though I definitely think like this from the beach style is winning all the cool all right I think because we have like next to noise stamina I'm going to quickly chest start this thing okay so we're here so so far it doesn't look like I can like do anything with it now whether I have to put like a pathway down or not is different okay um can I okay well we got two rugs now which is great love it love two rugs place is definitely warmer um so we'll have to experiment too to see if we have to actually put something physically down on the ground like um flooring or pathway or something like that and maybe that will allow us to so still things to experiment on which I love it's one of my favorite things about new games is learning all the new systems and everything that goes with it I have no space for that so I'm gonna put you there um I'll put that there all right sort and there's no yeah I hope we get a sort button on the inventory I mean like the only thing I still really want to get and then how are we doing so far I guess the foraging mastery is doing
