Copper & Brass Turned into a Fistful of Cash

two copper I got some aluminum breakage good morning welcome to scrap and pallet man channel today I plan to turn in all my non feris or a lot of my non feris so the aluminum the brass the copper some stainless steel um I think that's pretty much and Wire yeah I definitely want to turn in wire so I got here's some copper this is aluminum even though it looks like it's brass it's aluminum so yeah I got a whole uh three four buckets worth of stuff to separate so so here's the stuff that was in my yard yeah so I got some copper some insulated copper wire over there got some aluminum breakage this will probably be some type of aluminum breakage cuz there is some steel on it I'm guessing just did a like a round table of bucket so got my garbage here trash L be something something something here that's my stool or should I use a bucket probably a bucket huh there something in it nope we're good all right okay do I need another bin probably okay let's get started I guess this the part I not a big fan of all right so that's brass brass starts with B so that's probably alphabetical order huh brass I'm not even sure if they take that type of brass I wonder if I need I think Plumbing type that might be brass as well all right so Plumbing type brass will probably be a different bucket make sure this is brass [Music] all right if it Sparks it's not brass all right it's not sparking and it's definitely yellow all right so that is that's serious brass so that goes there it's that same kind of serious brass it's all brass it's that plumbing brass but I think this isn't brass so let me take a magnet to this stuff Hey where's my super magnet there it is my neodymium all right that's all I'm not sure if that's aluminum or brass it's not sparking and it's [Music] yellow all right it's a plumber I don't know that's serious [Music] brass wow does that have any Steel on it it does so I'm I need a dirty brass bucket dirty brass how's that or should I take the T time to undo [Music] [Music] it okay so that's probably a [Music] aluminum yeah that's a whiteness so that's aluminum all right so need an aluminum bucket piece of copper all right this be my aluminum bucket that looks Rusty doesn't it breast [Music] yeah I'll take that apart I need more of a table huh all right so this is going to be my just steel and aluminum and I think that's just brass right yep all brass all brass and you can always tell with brass it's just extra heavy like [Music] that that might be all shells there oh I see some some copper some number one copper all right this will be my copper bucket then huh all right copper copper you look like brass there's some magnetic qualities to that let's take care of that if I can't oh I don't know if I can nope it's just strip it out can I just break it I bet I can come on dude break there we go now steel no steel are you I about your brass huh oh yeah you guys are brass man there's a I saw a piece of copper where did you go maybe I didn't you know what I need to dump this in a contained area just to make sure it's all brass all um yeah they're all rounds casings there's a little piece of non casing that one all right watch your [Applause] ears all right so I'm just going to leave these all as shell casings I didn't see anything else in there besides those hey that's a blank that was a blank oh it's a 22 long blank [Applause] stay yeah the separating stuff is um it's always difficult for me I know I get a lot of folks like that's just part of the business you should like it Paul all right that's going to be a mess with later this looks like it's all brass yep all brass wire copper huh that's kind of cool that's a dog and a guy with a like a double barrel can't keep everything hey that's wow it's like everything's caught up with everything so that's all copper wow was that part of a Yol of some sort I don't know but it's definitely uh what they call it copper bearing material same with this is part of a transformer definitely copper bearing it's mostly copper not entirely let's see what the scrapyard says or I'll just save it for later that's some thick copper but I'm going to put it with my insulated copper wire H that's straight up copper no it's not that's a wire brass h is there any Steel in there nope pardon all the racket see that's just oh that might be yeah there's brass in there so it's going to go in the brass bucket no way I bet that's I bet that's a nice hose sprayer I that works just fine yep I'm keeping that [Music] brass huh is that yeah that's copper um copper number one yeah see that that might be that is straight up copper that's a copper fitting that's not brass brass [Music] brass all right this is going to take a little bit of time so do I think it's going to be worth separating all this stuff yes cuz it's it's not like I can just put it into the nonf feris shred pile um so yeah so that's all number two so copper number two has it has copper than other types of like solder or something like that's that's number one then I got all this wire that's just yeah it's just going to be a mess cuz I got all these little pieces of stuff here all these little pieces of wire that's just attached to everything like if I pull this out it's just going to be just this spaghetti mess everything and then I'll be picking stuff off the floor which I don't know about you but grabbing things off the floor is just irritating as can be I don't want to do that so like these pieces like this is just a wad of copper so that's really so that's going to go in the copper that's going to go into the wire even though that's the number one wire I'm putting it in my mixed wire I'm going to put all this in the mixed wire too ooh that's just straight up copper that's all wire except for this little piece of copper that's taing it all together wire wire wire wire that's a piece of just regular all copper that's some thick stuff too boy separate it all it'll take me forever if I do that and I I only have a I have a bandwidth that if if I go too far into it I'll I'll never complete this project I just won't what is that steel even though it's probably not steel I'm just throwing it in the steel that's a lot of copper that's that weighs close to a pound something on L on some brass did you just bounce out we getting closer copper copper I think it's just all going to be number two in here that's wire copper copper brass keys are brass but the Rings aren't wait a minute that might be an aluminum key yeah these are aluminum Keys yep they are you can tell they're super light okay two buckets down two buckets to go so I think that's just plain old brass brass yeah they'll say something about that plastic in there can I get it out I might not be able do oh well can only do what I can do I think this is all just that's all good brass I don't want to mix the shells in though all right they might not take the shells they yeah they just might not man these things are so heavy you can tell that's just totally totally copper there's nothing magnetic about that at all but this bucket I think is entirely steel there's nothing that I'm seeing Oh there's a little piece of C huh that's aluminum I think that's my steel so I think this is not going to spark nope and it's yellow that's just thin brass I'll B that steel oh yeah the rest of this we like what is that that's just a hugee chunk of that is so cool I'm going to keep it big old cube of Steel seriously that is cool I like it rest the stuff that it's just going to go into the steel what really that's pretty cool too oh it's something that's welded to it Pew PE that might be oh I was thinking it was Ferris what's that it's not yeah I think the rest of this maybe that's that might be aluminum yep let's test it yep that's very white so it's either I don't know that might be zinc that's pretty heavy I don't know what is that all right just because it's cool all right so I'm not sure what they're going to do about about that guess I can pick at it and get it as clean as possible or I can just see what they that's a whole bunch of brass got copper it's copper number two and my aluminum and I got the wire on the truck already and I got a ladder I'm going to leave this aluminum breakage here yeah yeah I'm not I don't want to have too many things because here's what's happened to me in the past let's say I bring in 10 different categories sometimes they can just forget a category and just gets blurred through I forget things all the time they will too okay it's all loaded up some of the stuff that has Steel on it I'm going to deal with later those things this is that's steel there's steel all over this so all right looks a lot better in here oh I got some copper what's all this copper that's money pla okay so this is actually my second trip to the scrapyard today I had some uh just some miscellaneous stuff that was laying about my yard now my yard is completely clear when I say my yard my at my house there's no scrap there whatsoever and uh I know someone's going to say I don't know if you're if you're yards all cleaned up Paul yeah it's all kinds of cleaned up so I got $33 from just various steel scrap uh this morning and now it's a it's uh 12:34 or 12:43 and uh so I think Michael probably back from lunch and we'll see how much we get for this nonf feris scrap load this time I don't have to go onto the big scale and just go straight to the little scale think I just back right in here hey hey hello can I back in sure all right think he's kind of in the way am I good all right this is in that bucket right there that's copper ready for this yes sir so this is you want to look at it it's just copper so what was the difference between that they're both both the same I guess they're the same you don't want to separate your one and two I don't know is it that big of a difference it's 10 okay I'll give you a half all right thanks right there is it right no that's copper dude that's stra copper is it I got a couple of them there see is there is there a tint I don't know I it's it's brass I don't know if you can tell I don't know if you'll be able to tell the camera that would be the same thing then this is copper they all look about the same all right man you say this is brass too that's brass all right it's red breast all right I think I think pretty much the rest is just copper is there's another one would be copper look this little where did you get these from from a from a Farm These are cop these are copper these are brass okay red brass they're old they have to be old yeah what about these these um fittings and stuff they're all are they copper or brass it's like so hard to tell let me hang they might be a mixture but it's it's heavy you want you know what let me do this to get you going all right let's just put them all together okay here you go yeah I think that's it uh did you weigh that one yet right that's probably what three lbs that one's no what you have in your hand I don't know I'm really really bad at weights just go those that's 14 let's see let's see quro yeah I'm curious where those came out of yeah I'm not [Music] sure these are these little things are copper guys a bunch of these are copper too if we grind them yeah they're all they're all Fading similarly so I'm wondering if they're the same but who knows you are the expert and I is this this probably mixed wire too not sure how you want to deal with that all right thank you [Music] sir all right so this is a this is just aluminum I'm not sure I think this is sheet but this is like something else yeah this is like serious [Music] aluminum that's like 9 lb right there know all right thank you a ladder 15 lb sir I will all right thank you Michael all right so I just got some buckets left don't want them flying out where's Michael service yeah okay both of them are okay cool yeah brass is a little stronger than copper so if it's going to be a clamp you definitely want it stronger so adding a little zinc to the mix is that what makes it it's well red brass the copper content well yeah it's um it's almost it's probably like half copper or maybe even 60% copper and then 40% zinc adding zinc to Copper makes it much stronger did what eight different C categories try 12 12 categories whoa I try not doing doing too many cu then I get all lost in the in the [Applause] shuffle the bank was out of um quars today so it's all dimes I'm like struggling right now hang on this yeah they have records I always do this I got to make sure I do it right you know yeah double check what they say measure TR twice cut once I've never heard that but that's smart that's cool man 250 what I had today I need to do this more often man all right thank you all right see you around that's crazy so aluminum breakage uh he said at greater at I think that was the um lad I'm guessing 45 cents a pound um and then I had some 15 cents a pound aluminum breakage that was less than 50% so it's higher than 75% less than 50% uh do I need to get out of this guy's way I might need to yeah so yeah he's backing up a leg Go trailer of all kinds of stuff no he's he knows what he's doing you know what I've never backed up a trailer I've backed up boats before but never a trailer I've never owned a trailer you probably know that okay so aluminum breakage um aluminum sheet 40 cents I think that was that big Bell and that other thing was at 40 cents brass breakage um I had 5 lbs of that I think that was 25 cents a pound red brass he gave me $1.95 for the red brass which was mostly copper I think but you know it's there might be a mixture of there's a lot of activity right here I feel like I'm in the way I'm not not but I feel like I am um yellow brass uh $150 I had some other yellow brass at a185 oh my goodness copper number two at $2.85 Copper yeah so I had two things of copper number two okay um electric motors 22 cents I think he give me the electric motors for those um those windings um insulated copper so the extension cords were 60 cents a pound and then he gave me 7 cents a pound for that other little mini bucket all right so let's let's talk about the totals aluminum breakage um was seven bucks is uh the sheet aluminum was $6.40 um wow the red brass for 4 lb was eight bucks the yellow the bucket of yellow brass yellow brass 41 he called it $54 yellow brass 48 they call it at $185 was $80 wow copper number two um so the first thing was $39.90 the second thing of copper was $375 those electric motors was 88 instated copper wire that was over 20 bucks just in the wire for a total of 256 $53 which I think he just rounded it up yeah that's awesome thanks for hanging out with me on this different kind of scrapping and normally I let my kids you know take some um non-f feris type material in and they'll get a few bucks for it um but they all have jobs they they all have jobs they're all wow out of all of our kids Rene kids and my kids there's only one of them that is a minor now wow that is wild our kids are all growing up all my heavy metal bands from the 80s they're all old and and having a hard time rocking and I'm old and having a hard time rocking this aging thing is a trip just seeing everything work there's no stopping it I'm glad that um we're going to live forever in the arms of God thanks for hanging out with me one man's Treasures another man's treasure from then to now thank God it got better
