Connexion Pre-Installation Process with OnTrac

[Music] by now you've seen the installation of the community owned connection fiber network in your neighborhood and you've received notification that connection is now available for you it looks good fast and reliable and you sign up for service now what can you expect next basically it's a two-step process first getting the fiber from the network in the street to your house and second bringing the fiber inside your house and connecting it to our device to bring you the internet telephone and other great services in this video we'll take a closer look at the first part of this process first of all our installers vehicles are all clearly marked as connection contractors so you know who's doing the work and you don't need to be home during this installation process but if you have any concerns regarding the work to be done you may want to be available typically this takes less than two hours to complete to bring the fiber from the network in the street to your house first requires our installers to find the connection point for the network near the street these small in-ground boxes are called flower pots and a flower pot typically serves two properties from the flower pot the fiber cable is buried underground and emerges at the side of your house yes this means the installers will be disrupting some landscaping and lawn to complete the installation the fiber is buried 10 to 12 inches below grade to be sure it's out of the way of sprinkler systems and other utilities a reasonably straight and efficient line from the flower pot to the side of the house is generally preferred but installers will pick a path that is minimally intrusive to landscaping [Music] and don't worry our installers are experts at making all this work look as if it never happened real professional these guys dug a trench and buried the cable and then they folded the grass back over they didn't hurt one blade of grass within just a few days you couldn't tell that they were even there i didn't even need to be home for that the guys just did an outstanding job and they were quick about it got the job done and it was about two two and a half hours and we had high-speed internet it was amazing it's like putting in the lottery yay after the fiber is installed on the side of your house and the finishing touches to the in-yard installation are complete the fiber is spliced to the main network now you're only one step away from fast affordable and reliable internet service
