[Applause] [Music] what's up everybody it's joe from complex we are in an undisclosed location in new york city and in front of me i have the rarest jordan collection in the world so many stories to go through on this table we're gonna get through everything let's go [Applause] [Music] [Applause] first things first as we're going through this collection i want everyone to keep in mind that every pair of sneakers on this table were made specifically for mj you're going to see a bunch of game worn sneakers and you're going to see a bunch of pes so let's start at the air ships basically while the jordan 1 was being designed jordan wore the airships this specific model he wore it was modified a little bit for his liking a lower cut and there was multiple editions of the airship this one though has the nike air on the collar as the jordan one was being designed this is the first shoe jordan was playing in when he was with nike as you guys know the jumpman logo one of the most iconic logos in branding history but not many people think of what shoes was mj actually wearing in the logo they were these these black toe variants jordan played in the chicago ones first and then he was playing around with these he put these on for a couple games and he decided that he was more of a fan of the red toe box and these black toe variants became something of legend because he just gave these away you'll see he used to give away a lot of shoes equipment managers friends and how this pair got to this table is jordan's roommate went to visit mj when he was playing for the bulls can't really make it out but signed michael jordan so in 1985 against the golden state warriors michael jordan famously broke his foot and what you'll see in the next batch of shoes that we go through they were kind of retooling jordan ones to offer support for the broken foot and a lot of super super rare pairs came out of that and they're right here game worn so let's go through some of those first up a jordan 1 upper on a jordan 2 soul basically the jordan 2 offered better soul support for his foot a very very rare pair and it became the jordan one and a half you guys saw that the jordan one and a half recently released a few years ago they call it the one and a half because it's a jordan 1 upper on a jordan 2 soul so after the one and a half he went to these jordan ones with a strap layered in to the shoe nike jordan the bulls everyone is trying to take the marquee player and support his broken foot through these footwear designs and the designer literally cuts through the jordan one and adds a strap here and what's pretty interesting about these is if you look around the table a lot of these pe's may have been worn once you can tell that these were worn a little bit more maybe some more games when jordan was really trying to provide comfort for his broken foot never been retroed we've never seen even in 2022 all these decades later you've never seen the strap retro crazy crazy piece of history the dunk craze right now in 2022 is crazy the jordan 1 phase in 2022 is crazy but what about a jordan 1 on a dunk soul cut a little higher than the strap and the jordan one and a halfs some funny details about these the wings logo on the interior which you don't really see that much he wore this style in the 1986 first round playoffs against the celtics he scored 63 points they ended up losing but again this was all part of when jordan broke his foot two of the most iconic sneakers that have stood the test of time 2022 you see everything all the dunks all the jordan ones more popular than ever this is a hybrid of both okay so we shipped a little now very fragile jordan 3 black cements one of the most iconic sneaker colorways and iconic sneaker silhouettes of all time you know the story goes he was thinking of leaving to adidas there's rumors that tinker in the parking lot showed him the jordan 3 but these black cements this pair right here is what jordan wore in the homecoming all-star game in chicago 1988 widely considered one of the best all-star game performances of all time jordan wins the mvp scores i think he drops 40 in that game these are the pair also as popular as the jordan black cement is it was the first and last time jordan wore these on court go over here right in front of these these are the space jam jordan 11s from space jam there's legend that he wore these to play pickup games on set another cool detail about this shoe that he wore in space jam and filming the stitching this 23 a little bit different than any other jordan 11 stitching let's stay in the 11s 1996 72 and 10 chicago bull season ran through the league playoffs one thing about jordan people know he tended to wear white colorways during the season and then when playoff time you would see the black and red or the darker colorways these bright elevens he wore playoffs 1996 this exact pair and then a little bit more under the radar he would switch back and forth to these jordan 11 lows so 1996 historic season for the bulls playoff elevens staying in the 1996 season like i said jordan would give away these pairs of sneakers to friends equipment managers old roommates but in 1996 against the pacers he dropped 44 points and the recipient of the shoes he wore in that game a ball boy these concord jordan 11s signed by michael jordan patent leather wrinkled at the toe box that 1996 season spawned an amazing collectible group of jordan 11s everyone knows in 1994 mj walked away from basketball to do a brief stint in baseball with the chicago white sox not only does this collection house his encore basketball shoes but also some baseball cleats a couple funny stories behind these if you notice zero zero this is what jordan showed up to spring training wearing when he went to play baseball didn't claim a number research shows that he was fine with zero zero he wanted to be zero zero so he started playing in these and then a 45 surfaced and what happened rumor has is that of chicago white sox pitcher scott ruff corn and some of the players decided we can't not have mj with a number and mj's high school baseball number was 45. so the double zero jordan 9 cleats turned into these jordan 45 cleats and this is what he was wearing and there was two versions of the 45 cleats one spikes and these were molded you could actually see mud from the baseball diamond when he played for the chicago white sox then the next year if he was going to continue for the white sox these were his cleats jordan 10s you have the nines here and then the jordan 10s that he never played in because he returned to basketball and this is where we got the jordan 10s the return he was wearing the 45 jersey and these are the shoes that he returned back to the chicago bulls in two colorways white and black and then we have over here this player exclusive jordan blacking charcoal colorway with the 45. [Music] one pair that we can't skip over a lot of history the nike sky force looks like pretty basic of a shoe but the nike recruitment for mj started early so mj's in college unc nike basically seats in these sky forces pretty basic look they're signed as the story goes he wasn't really feeling them and there's a quote that cannot be fully verified but it was basically like i need my converse back or something along those lines and what he did is he gave them to the unc equipment manager and the unc equipment manager had these in his house for all these years until now obviously this is the pair from 1983 to 1992. this pivot year iconic olympic jordan sevens you guys see the number nine on the back these are a favorite to so many people you ask a lot of people what's your favorite jordan they say the olympic sevens these are the olympic sevens that jordan wore in the olympics the dream team when they won the gold medal so much history for these you know one photo that sticks out magic and mj they're laughing and you see i think the soul of these jordan 7 olympics but classic scene in the last dance they're talking about mj's loyalty of the brand to nike and jordan the gold medal stand everyone's getting their gold medal the dream team 1992 barcelona olympics jordan famously drapes the american flag over the reebok warm-up now the shoes that he's wearing in the last game of the 1992 olympics when the dream team won the gold medal and the shoes that he's wearing on that metal stand are right here so we went through a few key pairs amongst this set but one thing that the collector the owner of all these what was really important to him was to have a full set of one to 13 and as you can see scattered amongst this set are models like the infrared six this soul collapsing you see the white cement jordan fours and what you'll notice about these everything was made specifically for jordan so you'll see some of these pairs the right one may be a size 13 and the left one may be a size 13 and a half and there's a full set of 1 to 13 on this table you see black and red 13s white cement jordan 3s the other thing that's very cool about this collection all the different bespoke inscriptions my very best thanks for everything michael jordan on the jordan 8. then we have the jordan 3 white cements we have drew and chris i think that they were brothers and a little easter egg december 29 1988 chicago bulls vs new york knicks the ticket stub right here in this pair to drew some other jordan ones his rookie year dual signature he played in these a bunch his rookie year this specific pair and then one very interesting pair these right here if you notice black and red dual lacing jordan played in these against the pistons in 1986 and wanted to try out the alternate lacings black and red tons of easter eggs including cherry 12 in the cherry 12 a game worn mj armband i'm just looking at to the left these hair jordan 7s he wore them on his 29th birthday scored 46 points against the cavs everywhere you look every part of this table there's history in these sneakers and cleats these thirteens i saw him in the last dance of playoff 13s signed what i really like about this the sprawling signature on the upper [Music] so a special edition of complex closets the rarest jordan collection in the world hope you guys enjoy this a collection like you'll never see before and never see again [Music] you
