we're here on a chilly January morning to bring you the latest from the Epcot International Festival of the Arts we're going to cover what's new what's missing in action what's better than ever and what's maybe worn out its welcome let's go do the 2024 Epcot International Festival of the Arts hi ho everybody this is Rob with your Scouts coming to you from the 2024 Epcot International Festival of the Arts last year for all of these festivals we brought you every single food item we covered every aspect of these festivals and this year we're going to do things a little bit differently we're going to focus on what's new what's changed what's better what's worse we're going to give you all the updates plus all the really fun things you can do when you're here for Festival of the Arts let's go do [Music] it our first stop today is World Discovery land of Guardians of the Galaxy and as I'm sure you can hear right now behind me test track is the loudest ride i' up got here at World Discovery Everything Has Changed up this year but actually nothing is really new it's just kind of moved around our first stop is going to be deconstructed dish if you remember this has been for the last couple festivals up at the entrance to World Showcase but they've moved it here into World Discovery in last year's Festival this booth was Modern which was kind of like modernist takes on classic food items but deconstructed dish is really kind of the same idea I love this booth so much it is perfect for Festival of the Arts because it's really a creative presentation of classic Foods you know and love they bring in new and interesting textures so it's like you're getting an old favorite but you're getting to experience it in a totally new way unfortunately this year they did not bring back our favorite item from this booth which was the deconstructed french onion soup they did however bring back back the other two items and we loved both of those as well there's a deconstructed BLT which is kind of like pork belly taking place of the bacon the thing with these deconstructed dishes you really kind of need to take little pieces of all of it and put it together because that's what's going to bring the full flavor of the dish to your taste buds this is also where we picked up our first boozy drink of the day they have a deconstructed strawberry mint jeup that is delicious I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the mixture of strawberry and mint with bourbon but it turns out that is a combination made in heaven it comes with this little container of the strawberry that you can squeeze out so you can put in just the amount that you want but we ended up putting the whole thing in there and it was tasty and last but certainly not least this is the first stop on the wonderful walk of colorful cuisine at all of these different festivals at Epcot there's going to be kind of like a food scavenger hunt the idea is when you buy those particular food items at boots around the park they're going to give you a stamp in your Festival passport once you get all the stamps you need you head on over to Deco Delights and they're going to give you a special treat that we'll try a little bit later in this video spoiler alert it's usually a cookie you're definitely going to want to grab one of these as soon as you come in because this has all the information you're going to need for the festival it's going to tell you about the different things going on around the park for the festival it's also going to include menus for all the different Festival booths this is a very handy thing to have whether you're doing the wonderful walk or not the wonderful walk item here at this Booth is the same as it was last year it's a deconstructed key lime pie and of course for science reasons we had to try it again to make sure it was just as good never fear it was super delicious what I love about this one is the interesting textures and when you get a bite with all of it together it is just a party in your mouth this booth is super fun and it really does embody the spirit a festival the art so you definitely want to put this one on your list our next stop here in World Discovery is Joffrey's coffee each of the different joffre locations around the park will be offering a special beverage for the festival normally I do not love the specialty coffee drinks that joffre's does for the different festivals I love joffre's coffee I am a huge fan I brew it at home but their Festival drinks a lot of times I feel like don't quite hit the mark this time however I feel like they really knocked it out of the park they are doing a pistachio pallet cold brew it's a specially Blended cold brew coffee served with pistachio syrup and you can get it with or without the Bailey's Irish Cream I had it both ways and I got to say it's good both ways it is delicious with the Bailey so if you're feeling like you might want to booze up your coffee I would say go for it this time it is really tasty do keep in mind though each of the different joffre locations is going to have a different beverage we didn't try the others but I'm glad we try this one cuz it was actually really good connections eery which is over here kind of bridging between World Discovery and World celebration is back with a cocktail that they actually had last time last time they called it dawn to dusk I think Dusk to Dawn something like that this year it's a little more straightforward it's just called the Orange lemonade cocktail what's cool about it is it comes with cotton candy that kind of changes the color of the drink but as you can imagine a cocktail made with cotton candy it's really really sweet so if you like a little bit of booze with your sugar then this is probably the cocktail for you for us it was just kind of okay our next stop is that little prominade you find right behind creations and appropriately enough it's where you're going to find prominade fine art at this Festival this is a great spot to come if you want to see all different kinds of art you're going to find sculpture painting you're even going to find some furniture art items and best of all you can often find an artist at work back here making a brand new masterpiece at all these different festival art boots around the park the artists will often be there at specified times during the day if you you'd like to get your work signed just ask them before you check out when the artist will be there and see if you can work it into your schedule you should also be aware that if you don't have room in your carry-on you don't need to fear most of these artists will ship their work anywhere in the world let's take a stroll through the prominade and see what's new this year our next stop is another Booth shakeup here in the world Discovery area of the park we're kind of in between World Discovery and World celebration right now in this spot last year you would have found Craftsman's Courtyard this year it's called Cuisine class interestingly though the menu items are the same here as they were last year when it was Craftsman's Courtyard and Craftsman's Courtyard has moved into the world showcase area it's all a little bit confusing but the good news is these food items while they are the same as they were last year they are way better this year than they were last year the beef wellington was perfectly prepared I loved how tender and flavorful the beef was the crust was nice and buttery but the best part was actually the truffled mashed potatoes on the side they were rich and creamy and delicious we also tried the muscles again because we did not care for these last year they were not very fresh they were a little bit gritty these were nice and fresh but it was really the broth and the tomatoes and the herbs that made this dish sing I don't even like seafood and I actually really enjoyed this dish I didn't just take my usual little tiny bite just to say that I tried it I actually had a few bites of this cuz I really enjoyed [Music] it the Odyssey Pavilion is once again home to figments inspiration station it's also home to the new figment popcorn bucket that is actually one of the new food items here it comes with kind of a kettle corn that's been rainbow colored it's not bad it tastes just kind of like extra sweet kettle corn it's kind of a sweet salty thing going on the real reason you want this though is because it is an adorable popcorn bucket do note if you want to get this popcorn bucket you're going to have to use mobile order the other food items are carried over from last year they're pretty much exactly the same as they were we did love both the smoothie and the cake because of the freeze dried Skittles on top I know it sounds weird to say get this for the freeze-dried Skittles but they really were the best part if you've never had a freeze-dried Skittle before I recommend giving it a try one of the items on the menu is also on the wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine so we gave that another world this year it's basically a Pop-Tart it's a very fancy Pop-Tart with an elevated crust if you've had had the ones over at Woody's lunchbox and Hollywood Studios I would say this isn't quite as good as those but it's in that ballpark the crust is a little more delicate and buttery than you'd find in a grocery store poptart and the filling is a substantial bit better but at the end of the day it's still just a fancy Pop-Tart well let's head inside and take a look at what's going on in figments inspiration [Music] station [Music] from figments inspiration station at the Odyssey Pavilion we're going to take the bridge over to that main bridge that connects World celebration with World Showcase and find a whole different kind of inspiration you'll find professional artists working on chalk art masterpieces and right alongside them you're going to find kids making masterpieces of their own and if you want to step inside of a masterpiece you'll find the first of The Artful photo op pops let's go check it all [Music] [Music] out I did want to point out here in this kids chalk art section they added a really cool thing this year there are now stencils that the kids can use they've got stencils from all the different countries of the world showcase and of course other icons around Epcot I think it's a really fun addition I'm glad to see they added them in fact I kind of wish they would sell these stencils over at creation so that you could take them home and make your own fcot Creations on your [Music] driveway our next stop is the world showcase Plaza stage this is one of the homes of the Performing Arts here at Festival of the Arts there are three shows you can see here one will be a musician and the musician changes out from day to day you might see a saxophone player as we're going to see today or a guitarist like we saw last year but it's always a really fun performance that involves popular songs that you know and love including maybe a few Disney [Music] hits the second show that happens here is Art Defying Gravity this is kind of like a cross between gymnastics and dance and performance art I feel like this show is kind of where athleticism meets the Arts it's almost like one of those really cool gymnastics routines you'd see at the Olympics and then there's the show that only happens twice a day but it might be the coolest it's where an artist will paint a Disney character usually right before your eyes but they're going to do it with a whole lot of Flash and flare it's always really fun to watch let's check out the shows [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] go [Music] [Applause] [Music] before we head out of world celebration into World Showcase we got one more big thing to celebrate and that is that the expression section is back this is like the world's largest paint by num set you head over to the expression section Booth they're going to give you a cup of paint with a number on it and a paintbrush and then you're going to be given a certain number of squares to fill in with that paint at the end of the day you can come back and see what your Masterpiece looks like let's go grab some paint and paint some numbers I'm excited to come back later tonight and see what the finished product looks like before we start our journey around World Showcase there are a couple more food boosts to talk about pop eats is back and this is one of my favorites year after year it's where you're going to find comfort food Classics like grilled cheese and tomato soup two of them are on this year's wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine there's essentially a vegetarian kind of kid-friendly version of the grilled cheese and then there is a grownup version with bacon and fried green tomato it's kind of more like a grilled pimento cheese sandwich I really loved both of these the grilled cheese that was kind of a traditional was just loaded down with butter and I'm never going to complain about too much butter on a grilled cheese I feel like it's tomato soup this year was even better than last year and they put a little dollop of creem fresh on top which adds a little bit of richness we also tried the rock the dots white chocolate and orange mousse to me this one just kind of tasted like Fruity Pebbles in Moose form if that's one of your favorite cereals you should probably give this one a whirl the other booth that's over here that's actually a returning Booth from the last couple festivals it's a play on the name World Showcase it's called swirled showcase and they feature really high quality soft serve ice creams the menu is similar to what it's been before but they did add a new soft serve flavor it is a cupcake flavor to me it kind of tasted like Funfetti icing which was good but very sweet we tried it in the float form with a strawberry soda the fuess paired well with the sweetness of the ice cream and kind of got like a little bit of a strawberry shortcake vibe from the mix of the two [Music] flavors [Music] our next stop is the lovely Canada Pavilion and there is so much food to try here in Canada if this is your first stop on World Showcase I hope you came hungry we'll start with refreshment port which they always have a poutine offering for these different festivals this year they brought back the poutine offering from last year which is like a brazed beef Yi poutine we didn't love this last year we don't love it again this here unfortunately the fried nooki is just no substitute for French fries the noi is kind of dry it's a little salty but also because it's dry and there's no gravy on this poutine it just is kind of a overall dud as far as we're concerned the brazed beef itself was a little bit juicier this year so that did bring a little bit of moisture to the whole Affair but not enough to save it they also brought back the jumbo chocolate cookie that also serves as an artist pal palette what I love about this every year they give you a little paint brush and the paint that's on top of the cookie you can actually create little works of art on top of your cookie with a paintbrush it is so cute and so fun the cookie itself is good it's nothing amazing but it's kind of worth it just for the fun experience and it's a very instagrammable moment next up is Gourmet Landscapes which had one of our favorite Festival items last year it was the Truffle risoto the first time we had it it was just not good it wasn't prepared well it really just kind of tasted like rice with a mushroom gravy on top I didn't taste the Truffle uh and the rice wasn't really creamy the way a risoto should be we did come back and try it again and it was just as delicious as last year and the reason I bring this up is because this is kind of the golden rule of all food reviews related to Disney World especially quick service and food booths like this consistency is always a problem depending on the time of day where you're there that item could have been sitting for too long maybe they needed a hurry up and get another batch out which I think was the case here I think they just didn't let the risoto cook long enough so the flavors hadn't developed and it wasn't creamy like it should be in the end the second batch that we had was every bit as delicious as last year but we were lucky on the hole this year virtually everything we had tasted very freshly prepared and was a the best Festival Food we've had here at Epcot another returning item to the menu this year is the bone marrow we actually didn't review this one last year I think we just plain forgot but I'm so glad we got it this year this is a delicious dish don't be scared off by the idea of eating bone marrow I know some people are like that just sounds kind of weird and kind of gross it's delicious it kind of tastes like a really rich french onion soup there was an onion I think it was like a marmalade on top that added some sweetness and onion flavor it was a delicious dish it served with some crustini that you can spread the whole thing on I highly recommend this if you've never had bone marrow before this is a great way to try it out another item that may look a lot like the item that was here last year for the wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine is actually different this year last year the Beet dish was plant-based but this year it does have some cheese and I am so glad they added the cheese for me I don't love beets but I did enjoy this because they had a Blackberry gastrique which brought some sweetness there were also some spiced nuts that were a little sweet and added some texture but really what made this work for me the beets W roasted the flavors were mellowed out a bit from that and then you paired that with the cheese and the sweetness from the other items and I actually ended up really enjoying it even though I don't like beets also today as a last minute of addition to the reviews I decided to try this Frozen Scotch cocktail it's kind of a play on a rusty nail it comes with a little chocolate nail that's got some Rust sprayed on there a rusty nail I think is whiskey mixed with drambo this one is scotch mixed with herbal tea but to me it just kind of tastes like one of those fireball candies there's a little hint of Apple in there but it's mainly a really strong kind of red hot cinnamon flavor it's definitely not bad I'm enjoying it but I think it's important to know the description is just a little bit misleading cuz this doesn't taste to me like herbal tea or Scotch it just kind of tastes like a frozen fireball drink if you're a big Scotch Drinker and you were hoping to enjoy the finer points of the scotch in this beverage you're definitely better off heading over to the UK Pavilion and getting a scotch on the rocks and as luck would have it that's actually where we're headed [Music] next un fortunately the day has gone gray again as we enter the UK Pavilion not a whole lot going on for the festival here this year either although you should definitely stop by one of the arc booths that you'll find here because he is one of my favorite artists he's actually got two booths this year one is back in Canada the main Booth however is here in the UK his name is Rob Cass he is known for doing delightful artwork of Disney characters but more importantly and probably the reason I love his artwork so much he's really famous for doing Disney character artwork that is set inside Disney parks there are three booth that I have to visit every single year when I do Festival the Arts and this is the first of those three we'll show you the other two a little bit later in this video another thing you'll notice here at the UK Pavilion are some chalk drawings in unexpected places this is called chalk full of character it's like an unofficial scavenger hunt for Festival of the Arts you'll find them all around World Showcase so keep your eyes peeled but definitely keep them peeled here in the UK okay because there are several to find we went from gra SK in the UK to out andout rain here in France I'm over here by Remy just cuz I was trying to find some Shelter From the rain but I'm really glad I did because there was an Artful photo op that I had no idea was back here when you're on your way to Remy you'll see it there're on the side right before you turn the corner but of course for every Festival the main thing you're going want to talk about here in France is the food once again the booth for Festival of the Arts is lart De Laine fres and they brought back some favorites from previous years mainly that creme debris in peti pond we didn't even try it again this year we could look at it and tell it was just as good as in years's past there's no way France is going to screw up Bree cheese and fresh baked bread that one is always delicious we did want to try the new salmon dish though there are actually two of them but if you want you can order them both in one it's kind of like a salmon Duo there's a chilled salmon and then there's a warm salmon Eric and I both preferred the chilled salmon over the warm salmon the warm salmon had a very fishy flavor which it's salmon it's fish it's appropriate that it would taste fishy but if you watch this channel a lot you know I don't care for the fishy flavors uh there was a Chardonnay sauce that also to me tasted very fishy the puff pastry was good but pretty basic the Chone was very bright and citrusy the base of the mousse was a goat cheese but I didn't get a strong goat cheese flavor from it I mainly just got the flavors of the Citrus and a little bit of Dill on the finish by far the star in France though was the dessert it was a lava cake like last year but this year they added a disc of was sort of a hazelnut chocolate disc on top and it kind of melted over the lava cake I love the hazelnut flavor that came from this it was delicious and Rich you could of course still taste the chocolate from the lava cake it is Alona chocolate so it's good quality but the star was actually the hazelnut if you're a fan of Nutella and you'd like a delicious Gourmet version this is the place to try it we've got a little reprieve in the rain so we're going to go go go through as many countries as we can as you go from France into Morocco you might hear one of your favorite Disney soundtracks playing that's because here you're going to find the Bronte and vivido the Encanto coina which is recipes in INSP spired by Colombia which is the country where Encanto is set returning from last year is an empanada that is on the wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine the one we got this year was very similar flavor-wise to last year but it tasted like it maybe been sitting for a little while the crust was a little bit on the stale side but the flavor was still really delicious do be aware though this one is a little on the spicy side so if you don't love spicy flavors you might want a steer clear of this one and pick something else for your wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine item it's a potato Empanada so really it takes on the flavor of the spices that are in there and there are a lot of spices going on we also tried the new item this year which is a passion fruit filed mango cheesecake and I think this might be our favorite dessert of the entire Festival it pains me to say that cuz I'm a chocaholic normally I like to pick a chocolate dessert for my favorite but this was just so good they were layers of fruit flavors you got got dragon fruit in there pineapple mango passion fruit there's some coconut you get richness from the Cheesecake it's like a tropical party in your mouth this one was so good we are definitely going to come back for seconds while this Festival is going [Music] on the festival food Booth here in Morocco is once again Tangerine Cafe and once again it's basically Al the same menu as it was for Festival of the holidays which was the same menu that it was for Food and Wine Festival it's basically been keeping the same assortment of food for a while now but we're okay with it because it's really delicious we did try the chicken kebab again just to make sure quality was still where it was previously and it was delicious as always this is one of the best spots to come if you're looking for a healthy bite to eat we love the chicken skewer it comes with a salad that's got chickpeas and carrots and raisins it's a little bit sweet a little bit Savory and 100% delicious the other returning items are the stone baked Moroccan bread with various Moroccan dipping sauces this one comes straight from that woodf fired oven and it is Heavenly they also brought back the lamb kebab which we might like even better than the chicken kebab they're both really delicious though just depends on your preference for chicken or lamb they did add a new item for the festival this time that is a chocolate cake with pomegranate mousse but I feel like it should just be called pomegranate mousse with a little hint of chocolate cake because there was just a sliver of cake along the bottom probably a good thing though because the cake was a little on the dry side the mous on the other hand was delicious before we leave Morocco though there is one more thing I want to talk about Morocco like all the countries of the world showcase is a stop on figments brush with the Masters this is the scavenger hunt for this Festival the idea behind this one is figment has hidden himself away at various masterpieces from around the world in each country you'll find a masterpiece from that country where figment is hidden inside there'll be a sticker of that Masterpiece you're going to find it here and match it with the country on the front once you found figment around the world showcase you can turn your completed map in for a special surprise we're going to find out what that is a little bit later in this video [Music] every time I film something in the Japan Pavilion at the exact moment that I start filming the drumming show begins it's like clockwork but we are here in the Japan Pavilion with a nice drumming background to talk about goshiki which is the returning Festival Food booth for Festival of the Arts it's got a lot of returning items as well I think actually all three of these things have been here in years past although they are a little bit different this year Eric was so excited to get the sushi donut again this was one of his favorite things last year he loved it again this year what I can vouch for personally is the wagu beef bun and the Moshi the wagu beef bun was delicious it was freshly prepared it's sort of like a ground wagu beef in a sauce that's a little bit sweet a little bit salty uh and the bun itself is nice and soft and adds a little sweetness the standout in the booth for me this year though was the Moshi this was essentially the same Moshi as last year it had a sweet bean paste on the inside the presentation was a little bit different but what made it way better than last year was just how fresh it tasted I've never had Moshi like this before usually Moshi is a little bit more chewy this was so soft you could tell that it had just been prepared and and it just has a completely different texture when you get it fresh another returning item from last year is the saki that you can get in a souvenir wooden Cup this is traditional cup for serving Saki and they'll also write your name in Japanese characters if you like once again there is so much stuff going on for this festival at the America Gardens theater that's where you're going to find Disney on Broadway later tonight we'll come back and check out that show after the sun sets but for right now we can actually go take a class that's offered during the day at the America Gardens theater called animation Academy during this class an actual Disney animator will teach you how to draw a popular Disney character you always get someone different last year we did May from turning red I'm excited to find out who we're going to get this year let's go take the class and then we'll talk about all the delicious food you can find here at American Adventure we now invite you to join us for the animation Academy please welcome your sketch artist Sarah Smith wo hello everyone so how do you guys feel about drawing fler today all right let's do [Music] it maybe not my best work but pretty good considering you don't get an eraser in these classes if you're not able to make it here for the festival and this sounds like something you'd really like to do there is something similar over at rafiki's Planet watch in Animal Kingdom all year long go check it out there if you're not able to make it here but while we're here let's talk about the delicious food you can get here at this Festival we're going to start however with one of the most delicious things from festivals past that is unfortunately not here this year I'm so sad about this there was this flight of hot chocolates that you could get here in America it was one of my favorite things year after year there was a white chocolate a milk chocolate and a dark chocolate and these were Heavenly they were so rich and delicious sadly they are not here this year Disney please bring them back next year we missed them already one item that did return this year that looked exactly the same as it did last year is the duck and dumplings we really did not like this one last year so I didn't see any real reason to get it again this year I would say this one's pretty safely a skip we did try the hummingbird cake which we were a little more on the fence about last year it just wasn't great they did change it up a lot this year it looked a lot different than it did before but it still had the same problem which was the cake was really dry I wouldn't say this was terrible it was fine but there are such amazing desserts that you can get at this Festival I would say this one is not worth the calories next door at the funnel cake shop they have a special funnel cake for this Festival it's like a chocolate funnel cake that's been turned into an ice cream sandwich for this one I would say I liked it I didn't love it the chocolate funnel cake didn't really taste like chocolate to me it kind of tasted like Cocoa Krispies or count chocula one of those chocolate flavored cereals it was fine it wasn't terrible if you're really in the mood for a funnel cake and some ice cream it'll fit the bill but like with that hummingbird cake I think you can find better desserts at the other booth this [Music] year one of the coolest things you're going to find here in the Italy Pavilion is a brand new art Booth from a longtime Disney artist he goes by the name of scooter which is a nickname he got when he worked as an animator with Disney oh my gosh Scooter's right here so scooter who you just saw briefly was an animator for Disney for a very long time in case you're not aware Disney actually used to animate films right here in Orlando over at Hollywood Studios a lot of your favorite animated movies like Lilo and Stitch Brother Bear Tarzan Hunchback of notredam all of these movies scooter worked on and for this Festival he has a booth where he's showing off some really cool Disney Art he was inspired to do a mod Mickey Series this is not like any of the work that he did as a Disney animator it's an excl exclusive series just for this Festival in fact when this Festival is over you're not going to be able to get these anymore so let's go check them out also here in Italy you're going to find LTE diari I'm sure I butchered that pronunciation but this is the returning Italy Festival Food Booth we really liked this one last year and we liked it again this year I love the fried cheese dish that comes on an artist palette with different dipping sauces it's adorable it's instagrammable and it's fried cheese what's not to love the dipping sauces are great too I think this is one of the most creative executions of a dish that you already know in love here at the festival there was also a stuffed shells dish on the menu this year that was different from what was here last year this one tasted like a marriage of stuffed shells and beef stroganof it had a creamy beefy filling with some peas I really enjoyed this one as well it's very much like a comfort food dish I wouldn't say it was one of my favorite things I had but it was good what is one of my favorite things I had however is the chocolate cheesecake for dessert as a chocaholic I had a hard time picking between this one and the hazelnut lava cake over in France as to which is the best chocolate dessert I think I'm going to go with this one though because the hazelnut one what I loved was the hazelnut flavor this one was a about the chocolate it was rich and creamy and you could tell it was made with a really high quality chocolate this dessert is definitely one that's worth coming back for as luck would have it it seems we're just in time for a little live music here in Germany let's go check out the [Music] show on skip night uh back in Germany I had the honor to be the German uh voiceover for jazin in Aladdin and bell and Beauty and the Beast we have one more Disney medley with some of our favorite [Music] songs thank you very very much I hope you have a wonderful evening at nacot the food offerings are actually exactly the same as last year minus the castlea they did have a wild boore cleet last year that one's been dropped from the menu but honestly we're kind of glad that they brought back these other two items because we loved them last year and we love them even more this year the brazed short rib is just fall apart tender it's got so much flavor it also came with a paret potato puree that was delicious we also tried the black forest cake it's really more of a black forest mousse there's much more mousse here than cake inside you're going to find a little bit of that black cherry you can tell this is made with good quality chocolate and it's one that I'm glad we went for a second year in a row unfortunately there is no Festival food this year at refreshment Outpost this is usually one of the reliable spots where you can find great plant-based offerings but nothing on offer this year not even a festival drink what you will find here however is one of my favorite art booths you remember how I told you there are three that I always visit well number two is here it's the Mulla Art Gallery what I love about the mulla's artwork is they do Disney Art and Disney Park's art but they also put in little Hidden Mickey and references to popular attractions it's like an Easter egg hunt I love just spending time there checking out what's new and finding all those little Easter egg [Music] details here in China you'll find the painted Panda which is the returning food booth for Festival of the Arts the menu is quite similar to last year but we did give everything a whirl again just to see how it Stacks up against last year we started with the general child's chicken schumi which we liked last year and we liked it a lot again this year it's kind of like a steam dumpling with a little bit of that General Chow chicken flavor you know and love from your local Chinese restaurant we also tried the charu pork bun the bow bun was nice and tender just a little bit sweet and the pork itself was well seasoned what I loved the most though was actually the sauce when you dip the whole thing in that sauce it was really tasty we also tried the Sesame balls with red bean paste we were a little bit split on this one I enjoyed it Eric did not like it quite so much we both loved the sauce that came with it on the outside you kind of dip the whole thing in like a strawberry sauce but the Sesame balls themselves Eric did not love the texture they are a little bit chewy there's not a lot of that red bean paste in there but I did really enjoy it especially when dipped in the sauce I liked how also you got a little bit of that sesame seed flavor which paired nicely I thought with the red bean paste and the strawberry once again not much going on in Norway for Festival the Arts Larry Dodson is back he's the artist that takes up residence over at the fjording this time of year he doesn't love for us to film his artwork so we're not going to go in but he specializes in different Resort paintings or different scenes from around the parks so if that's the kind of thing you'd like to take home and put on your wall you might find it here at the fing our next stop is Mexico where you'll find L artista ento A returning food Booth from previous years translates to the hungry artist and I would recommend coming hungry because one of the returning items this year is better than ever the car assada last year was served with sweet potatoes and we liked it it was good this year they really kicked it up a notch in terms of both flavor and the authenticity of this dish they're serving it with nopales which that's a Mexican Cactus that's served as a vegetable in Mexico if you've never had nealis before these are actually perfectly prep paed sometimes they can be a little on the slimy side but don't let that scare you these are not slimy they've got a little bit of a sour salty flavor to them it's a really unique thing you should try if you've never had before the carne assada itself was nice and tender just like last year lots of flavor and it was served with a grilled queso fresco which I see this a lot in Mexico when we go to visit they'll just take a big piece of cheese and throw it on the grill until it's nice and brown on the outside Yum Yum Yum so delicious they also did a chilled Lobster toata this year which was not on the menu last year even though this thing was chilled it was definitely bringing the heat it is a very spicy dish so if you're not a fan of spicy things you might not love this it also had a little bit of a fishy flavor that said Eric really enjoyed this one he thought that the cardada was better but he still did dig this for me I'm not a big Seafood person so I did not love this dish but I did appreciate the salsa and and the spices that were going on in there I did enjoy that aspect of it of course we also had to try both of the Margaritas on offer we started with the Ruby deliciosa because the cast member told us that it was a very spicy Margarita it was a little spicy a little smoky a little sweet not too sweet though which I liked the thing I didn't like about it was it had a very strong beet flavor so it is made with beet juice I'm not a huge fan of beets Eric really liked that one a lot cuz he does like beets and I think that's really it it's going to come down to whether or not you like beets as to whether or not you're going to like this Margarita the second Margarita we tried was a smoky Banana Margarita I was a little scared of this because I do not care for that fake banana flavor you sometimes get in cocktails thankfully it did not have that fake banana flavor but the whole thing was really sweet it did taste Smoky as well but you've got to like really sweet drinks to appreciate this one although Mexico may be the last country in the world showcase we do have two more booths to talk about here one is one that I mentioned at the very beginning of this video Craftsman's Courtyard it is back it's moved here into basically the end of world showcase after you come out of Mexico and they have two new items because well their entire menu from last year has been co-opted by the booth up front where they used to be this year they're featuring a grilled pork B belly which I'm going to be honest it's called a pork belly to me it tastes much more like a grilled pork loin uh it's like it's stuffed porkloin there's a really delicious herbed stuffing and it's kind of rolled around that and they slice it so it's kind of like one of those spiral stuffed pork dishes to top it off they have this really fabulously stinky ret cheese that they melt all over the top of it this one is definitely going to be divisive it's really going to depend a lot on how you feel about stinky cheese I love this one Eric was a less of a fan he did however really like the dish without the cheese so if you're afraid of the stinky cheese they will make it for you without it if you prefer the pork itself was beautifully prepared I loved the herbs it was a very bright dish and what I loved most about it was the pork was really tender and juicy a lot of times you get these pork dishes where it's a stuffed pork and it's kind of dry not the case with this one the other dish was also a home run Eric and I both loved it it's a grilled marinated skirt steak sandwich it's got caramelized onions mushrooms and a blue cheese fondue but that fondue is really the strongest flavor and I'm okay with that I'm a big uh blue cheese fan if you don't love blue cheese you're probably not going to enjoy this one it pairs beautifully with that skirt steak that was tender juicy and had a lot of bold beefy flavor I really enjoyed this one the bread that it was served on was actually quite good as well all in all I would say this was a win-win Craftsman Courtyard got a brand new location and a new menu and all of it was delicious and its old menu is still up front at a new booth and it's a lot better than it was last year Well my friends we have reached the final Booth of the day this is both our final food booth and the final stop on the wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine that's because this is where you're going to find the last wonderful walk item a dessert Trio and it's also where you're going to get your passport stamped to get your completer treat first let's talk about that last wonderful walk item it is a dessert Trio and these are mostly items that are returning from last year but they are a little bit different this year and sad to say I actually likeed these better last year the strawberry mousse is really light on the berry flavor it does have kind of a green cake base that's a little bit salty and I did like that mix of salty and sweet flavors but really it was just a little on the Bland side next up is a cheesecake that was good but a little bit basic the crust on this one was a shortbread crust for me I just prefer a gr cracker crust cuz I think it brings a little bit more flavor this just added a little simple buttery sweetness which is kind of what you're already getting from the Cheesecake and last but certainly not least is that chocolate tart this had layers of different chocolate textures and flavors but unfortunately the largest layer was that base and it really just had the least amount of chocolate flavor to it that's kind of my feeling about all the items on this tree I feel like they all just needed an extra punch of flavor but I will admit they are undeniably cute and now let's talk about the completer treats you get for doing the wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine first off there is a berry smoothie this one to me tastes a little bit more like candy than berries it also has a really icy texture it's kind of like one of those Slush Puppies I don't know if they even still make Slush Puppies anymore I haven't seen one since I was about 12 years old it does have that kind of coarse icy texture to it to me it's tasted like there was just a hint of dairy in there I checked the cast member and they said it is plant-based so maybe there's a little bit of rice milk or oat milk I'm not sure but I did get a a little bit of creaminess on the Finish which I did like and finally we'll talk about that adorable instagrammable cookie that is back from last year it is very cute it's also very very sweet that topping on the top there is just pure sugar those dollops of paint are actually pretty thick and that's my biggest problem with this cookie it's just too much sugar the cookie base itself is nice and buttery and simple but once you add all those layers of sugar on top it just becomes kind of cloying that said if you got some little ones they're definitely going to love this and it makes for a really cute picture for me the most memorable thing from this year's wonderful walk of colorful Cuisine is going to be that cup that came with the smoothie it is a plastic souvenir cup and you can wash that out and take it home with you and use it to remember your trip to Festival of the Arts and now let's head over to that third art Booth I told you I like to visit each and every year here at the festival this one is actually just branded as a Disney Fine Art Booth but it is the booth of Trevor Carlton and you already know his artwork because you saw him painting earlier in this video if you want to buy the painting that he's painting up there you can actually do it but you need to hurry head over to the booth probably as he's painting it because a lot of times those paintings will sell that fast today's Tinkerbell painting is already gone and I was chatting with them over there and they said it was gone before he was done painting it we still got a little bit of light left let's head on over to the expression section and see how our Collective Masterpiece turned [Music] out not too bad this was my contribution over here a little bit of the Guardians of the Galaxy section I was responsible for 10 of those darker yellow squares They do change CH these up so when you come here to the Festival of the Arts it may be a different mural that you'll be painting but I'm pretty pleased with how ours turned out well we have finished finding figment all around World Showcase so we are here at Disney traders to claim our prize let's go see what's on offer this year just like last year there are these really cute little sculptures that are kind of a paint by numbers kit and they come with paint and a paint brush it is really cute you could choose between Mickey mini and figment and of course we're here at upcot and we're in the figment ears I went with figment I can see outside the door that spaceship earth is all lit up and that means it's time for our next [Music] adventure they do a special projection show for Festival of the Arts that's based on The Muppets Rainbow Connection and the reason we want to watch it from here this year is because they have added lights all around this Garden that sink up with the shows on spaceship earth so it adds a whole new dimension to the [Music] experience well I think if we make a Mad Dash right now back to American Adventure Pavilion we can be there just in time for the next performance of Disney on Broadway and tonight is actually a very special show because the original Anna and Elsa from Frozen on Broadway are going to be performing so let's go see if we can catch the show please welcome the original stars of Disney on Broadway's frozen patty Muran and Casey ly for the first time in forever there will be music [Music] there it it hold it anym it go let it go turn away and slam the door [Music] I well my friends that is a wrap on our funfilled Artful Adventure here at Epcot I want to give a huge thank you to our patreon family
