yeah welcome back to the firewater cooking channel I'm Darren and today I'm gonna test out three different vacuum sealers to channel vacuum sealers and one chamber vacuum sealer I got the avid armor a 100 channel back I've got the back master pro 350 channel back and I got the back master BP 210 chamber back we're gonna see which one alright all so first of all I'm gonna introduce all three of these sealers and the avid armor is the one I've been using now for the past few months the a100 they also have a model the a 3100 that's a little bit smaller it's got a stainless steel top here and it's a little bit less powerful than the a 100 and it cost about $100 less so if you want to I'll have a link below to all these sealers and also to the a 3100 that's about a hundred and eighty nine dollars this one here the a 100 is about two hundred and eighty nine dollars from avid armor and this is a basic channel sealer that it's a it's a commercial type because it is a very powerful motor it's all stainless steel there's very few plastic parts it does have a few features that you won't find on some of the FoodSaver or cheaper models and let me walk you right up to that and show you first I've done a complete walk around on this before and if you check out the iCard above you'll see the video I did on this when I did the unboxing but it's pretty basic it's got you're on an off switch here start which is your seal your vacuum and your seal it's got a just a seal button here or if you just want to seal one side of the bag it has a seal time adjustment here so these are the number of seconds that it seals the bag so you can adjust that up or down so if you want a stronger seal you can have it do for a longer time for the seal it's got a marinade function which I don't use it's got an accessory function which you can hook up one of your accessory tubes that come to it with their little accessory caps so for any kind of storage container even it works with even the food saver storage containers you can buy storage containers that have that you can vacuum seal and then use it with that it also has a pulse vac which I use this a lot especially for liquids because you can pulse it and just get the air out a little bit of the time so the liquid doesn't come up into the sealer itself and it's also got the impulse seal so when you're doing the impulse back you need the impulse seal where it seals it and impulse alright so that's pretty much it when you got your seal bar here which is right at about ten and a half inches this is your little liquid catcher here this comes out so you can clean it so you hang your bag right over here like this close this down then hit start sucks it out kind of hold this down until it starts to get the suction on and you can leave it alone you want to keep this tape on here there's a Teflon strip underneath here that is your seal bar so the heats up and melts the plastic of the bag so it's pretty powerful seal place that this has got a very powerful commercial motor in it it's a lot more powerful than any vacuum or any a food saver model that you would see out there meant to be a commercial type unit one of the things you don't have to do with this like you would have to a food saver or cheaper brand is you don't have to give it any cooldown time you can vacuum one right after another you know once you vacuum one bag you can put that down and vacuum another bag right away a lot of the food saver ones the strip on the seal bar it's not very sturdy so you have to let it cool down for a good you know minute or two before you go and seal the next bag so I think I like about this is it's very sturdy it's gonna last a long time really solid it's mostly stainless steel and the plastic that's on it is heavy duty it's nothing cheap about this at all it's built to last you for years and years it's got the function it's got the marinade the accessory the pulse function the adjustable seal time so I really like this unit the only thing it doesn't have compared to the back Master Pro 350 there's no bag storage on here you know there's nowhere to store your bags so you got to use the bag put bag somewhere else also it does use the textured bags just like any food saver it has to have the texture on one side so that it can get all the air out of it so it will use any type texture bag so you can use a food saver bag any brand they off brands on Amazon or Ebay work fine just as well all right guys so I'm going to take the Avatar mer can pick this block of cheese this is gonna be our test on all three of these vacuum sealers to see which one does the best job and let's go ahead and use this on the avid Armour first of all both the avid Armour and the back Master Pro 350 have pretty much similar lid here clear plastic big gaskets here nice seal bar so what you want to do is just put it right here within this liquid catch make sure it's over the seal bar and hold that down and you want to hold it down when you first start because it needs to catch the vacuum there's no locking mechanism on either one of these they're both operate the same way you just hold it down and you can go ahead and just hit hit start [Music] you don't want to pull this up if the vacuum hasn't let go I'm gonna wait for that Bell if you do it can mess up your seals and your strip on your seal bar so there you go pretty good seal got most of the air out pretty tight and like I said it's a commercial sealer so it's doing a lot better job than any kind of food saver would do for sure so it's got a nice big wide seal on there it's a single one but like I said you can do set the seal time so if you got a thicker bag you can set the time on the sealer to go longer but you tell it's got a good seal to it so works fine all right that's the abbot armor now we're gonna go ahead and check out the vac Master Pro all right so now I'm looking out and looking at them side by side the avid armor a 100 and the vac Master Pro 350 you can tell that the avid armor is a little bit more compact and the main reason that is is because there is no bag storage so as far as the width goes there right about the same they take the same size bags the same size seal bar the pump is pretty much about the same strength but the fact Master Pro 350 has the same type of controls as the avid armor turn this on so you can adjust your seal time on here as well it has a marinate time you can adjust it has a vacuum level on here that you can adjust you can't do that on the avid armor you can only adjust the seal time but on this one you can actually adjust the vacuum so you can have it do more of a vacuum or less of the vacuum and where that comes into play besides using the pulse function which this also has is if you're doing something that's soft or you don't want to crush you know if you're doing bread or something that it's a little bit more spongy that you don't want to completely destroy by using a big you know the maximum vacuum you can do a minimum vacuum on this so and that's right here you just push that button and it gives you the option tells you the vacuum okay so power pulse same type of pulse function is on the avid armor so you can just do it a little bit of a time which helps you out when you're doing liquids or anything that's really wet because it'll give you the option to seal it before any moisture gets up into the ceiling area here okay same thing has an accessory port so that same accessory you can use for any of the canister stuff like that it has that option has a stop button here okay the avid armor did not it's just either start or seal there's no stop you can take shut the power off but this has an actual stop function so if it's in the middle of vacuuming and you're wanting to stop it and redo it you can hit the stop button and it won't hurt anything and this here you can also adjust the seal time just like you could on the avid armor but this is also just the seal button so if you want to just seal the bag and not vacuum it you hit the seal and the start just like on the Avatar mer it's the vacuum and the seal okay so a couple different functions on there also if you'll notice here on top this is your cutter for your bags and this goes back and can move the camera a little bit so you can see have these kind of close together because of the way the court said to go but but there's two little knobs on the sides up here pop that up this little top comes up this is where your role of bags goes this will think a really big bag roll you see here it's the not just the small ones but it'll take the actual hundred footer so so it's actually I'll take a really good size roll you don't have to worry about changing it out at every you know a couple weeks and put a really big role in here and work and you can even do the mandible bags in this but so you want this to come out just a little bit can you close your lid locks down put this over and this is your cutter you would just pull your bag out go ahead and show you just pull it out as long as you want it and then slide your cutter and then it's cut and there you go so you got your bag already and if you want to get another one you just lift this up a little bit and pull it out start again and let's just go show here so we're just going to do the seal part he's gonna hold that down for a second co-stars pulling [Music] really really simple and really good wide Ceylon they're really deep it's nothing this is not going to come out at all once it's a cool off this is a really really tight seal okay the same like I said it's got a real dual powerful pump just like the avid armor does take up a little bit more space but it has a little bit more options and has the bag storage this one is about three hundred and thirty nine dollars on Amazon but same thing it's built to last you for years and years that's not built like a food saver mostly a plastic where you can you know find it in the thrift store after two years because of the yeah it just stopped working all right guys so the vacmaster Pro 350 works very similar to the avid armor there's not much difference at all just has a couple more options on here for adjustments we're gonna take a another textured bag just in here just as different size it's the same type of bag and we're gonna go ahead and do just like we did with the avid armor I'm gonna open the lid and if you see this has got the gasket on here is actually a little bit thicker than the one on the Avatar mer it's about maybe about you know good eighth of an inch or so thicker and the chamber is a little bit deeper let's go ahead and put this in here maybe it doesn't need the tray same thing you want to make sure it's over your seal bar and the lip is in that because if you got liquids in there you don't want them going outside we're gonna go ahead and put that down and the same thing you want to hold this until the vacuum catches and you just want to hit the start button same thing you wait for it vacuum to release makes the beep and there you go there is the results on the back Master Pro 350 very tight seal and you know a lot 99.4% of that air out of there and it's got a nice wide deep seal nothing nothing gonna cut that break that seal open so very good job on both of these like I said both of these are very similar the avid armor and the vac Master Pro 350 the vac Master Pro has a couple more justing options as the built-in bag storage and the bag cutter so you can make your own custom size bags and you don't have to worry about hiding the roll of bags anywhere else and that's it they both did a great job all right now it's on to the vp 210 alright now we're going to move to the vp 210 and this is a lot different than these other two this one does not suck the air out of the bag like these two it does suck the air out of the bag but it does it a whole different way and if you've seen these before I'm sure you have these are commercial type sealers they use this type of sealer when they're sealing all kinds of products what this does this chamber here is filled with air right now and when we put our food or bag in there we close the lid and what it does instead of just sucking all the air out of the bag itself it sucks all the air out of the chamber and then when it's done sucking all the air out of the chamber it seals the bag and then it opens up the lid and then all the air comes back rushing in and it just pulls every ounce of air out of everything this particular one has a couple spacers in it right now it's probably about a four inch deep chamber and another four inches on the top here so I can put pretty much any bigger type roast in here I can fit about the only thing I wouldn't be able to use this for is like a big brisket you know a bigger pork but maybe whole racks of ribs and that's what I would use my channel back for anything that's you know a turkey or big chicken or something will fit in here I can use my channel back for this though I'll use this most of the time just because I get a much better vacuum and a much better seal because of the fact that it's sucking pretty much 99.9% of the air out these will probably get maybe 94% of the air out if you're lucky just because of the way they do it so I'm gonna go ahead and turn this on one of the thing with these this particular model you have to do you can't have this closed when you turn it on this little bar here holds this down so when you're not using it so it's not sticking up everywhere you can lock it down but this is set to automatically raise when it's done so this is how you start it up this is how you turn it on it's a little button on the side that goes up or down you turn it on and there we go we turn you just a little bit so you can see what's going on on the front here you'll see we got a little pressure gauge and what this does is when the air is being vacated from the chamber you'll see this little arrow go all the way over here to the green side once it gets all the way here to the end then it'll stop it'll take the rest it'll seal the bag and then it'll open up and you'll see everything vacuumed out this here has a couple different options as well you can adjust the vacuum the percentage of the vacuum you can adjust the seal time as well just like you can on these other two you can adjust the cooling time because it will take some time to cool the seal down so that it's not opening right when the seal is done because sometimes if the seals not set it will reopen the bag so we can cool it have a cool time so that gives the bag the seal on the bag enough time to cool down and have a really good seal and that's it and now with this you need to use you can use these plain channel bags which are a lot cheaper or chamber bags which are a lot cheaper than the channel bags there's no texture on these at all they don't need it because they're not just sucking it out of the bag with these you need the texture bags you know with all this different texture on one side and they cost a little bit more with this you can use either one of those bags so because it really doesn't matter and these chamber bags like I said they're smoother so they don't cost as much to make so they're cheaper these can be like you know ten twelve cents a bag these can be like four to five cents a bag so sometimes there is half as much and you can buy these in bulk and it won't cost you a whole lot of money just show you how I'm going to vacuum how this works and pretty much you just take your bag put it in inside the chamber instead of on the other units it's outside the chamber you're just sucking air out of the bag so just make sure that your bag gets covered over the seal bar and then it's not really you know binding up or anything you just kind of want it to look just like that make sure it's covered over the seal bar and it's not bunched up and then we're going to just pretty much close the lid so all you really got to do put your bag in with your stuff and close the lid and it automatically locks down and that's it it will suck the air out of the chamber [Music] that's it when it's done the lid opens up and it sucked all of the air out of the pack got me a double seal on there and there you go there's absolutely no air in there it's tighter than anything you're hard-pressed to get this kind of air removal in the channel backs it's just really hard to do just because of the way they suck the air out comes because they suck the air out of the bag itself it depends on that texture to let the air kind of go through that to get out and a lot of times it won't get all the air out but the chamber back it gets like I said 99.9% of the air out and you're good to go the bags are cheaper and this thing if you're doing a lot of vacuum sealing I suggest the channel the chamber backs so the price point is a little bit more but if you're like me where you're your vacuum sealing stuff every single day vacuum so you know do a lot of meat do a lot of other stuff that's the way to go channel backs are great if you're out of you know you want something that's going to last a long time that's got a pretty good power it's got some options to it definitely recommend that if it's out of your budget to spend the seven hundred to eight hundred dollars on a chamber back then this is his next best step highly advise against buying any kind of food saver or cheap vacuum sealer on Amazon just because let's just say you spend $60 on a cheap one that lasts just six months then you have to buy another one that's another 60 bucks that's a hundred and twenty bucks you just threw away it's the same thing if it lasts another six months you're throwing that away you're buying another one you might as well just bought the avid armor or the Master Pro 350 well there you go guys thanks for watching hope this helped hope you got some ideas keep watching the YouTube channel make sure you subscribe and like follow us on Facebook Instagram and Twitter make sure you check out the fire and water cooking podcast and a couple weeks I'm
