Collins Win Charleston 2024 | Berrettini, Shelton, Hurkacz win Titles | Tennis Rankings

so the clayt season officially starting in Europe this week we had some big results and some massive changes outside the top 10 ahead of the big tournaments coming up let's go have a look at who actually won last week because we had five events over both tours starting on the WTA in Charleston Daniel Collins continue to win winning back-to-back titles now in back-to-back weeks beating kazakina 6261 in the final there and over in bogatar in Colombia osario the local wins her title against buzova 6376 and that is the second time she actually won her home title so really fun to see that on the men's side starting in Portugal in the estal open we had her catch winning his first clay CT title beating Martinez in the final 6364 over in marash we had bartini back to his winning ways beating bayana in the final 7562 and then over in Houston Ben Shelton winning his second title and first on Clay beating TFO in that final 75 46 63 and all those guys got a boost in the rankings because of the titles let's go have a look and see who went up in the rankings this week Ben Shelton he goes up two spots to number 14 in the world that is a career high for him and as of next week he will be the number one American player overtaking Taylor Fritz so we'll talk about that next week but Ben Shelton continuing to climb up the rankings Daniel Collins she goes up seven spots number 15 of the world after winning in Charleston and bartini he goes up 51 spots in the number 84 spot after winning the title last week in Morocco so some big boost there for some players that won last week players that went down to the rankings Katch manovic he went down 16 spots to number 66 in the world after failing to defend points from the final that he made last year at this time Dominic team continues to fall down down he's down six spots number 991 in the world pelosa she goes down nine spots number 91 in the world on the WTA side after failing to defend points that she made from last year's chareston event so some big drops there for players that couldn't replicate their success from 12 months ago all right starting on the WTA side no major changes to the top of the top 10 which fiance staying at number one seaner at two gof at three and reacer at four Pula stays at number five we do have a change in the bottom half of the top 10 with Jabber dropping down three spots to number nine making way for sakar Jang and vrusa who all overtook her and that's because she lost all the points from winning in Charleston last year she lost in the first round so all those points disappeared so a big drop there for on and inner number 10 is ostapenko she stays there for this week so no massive changes to the top players but there was a bit of a change in the middle there with Jabber continuing to struggle on the court all right over to the race of the finals now and there were some interesting changes but nothing up the top which Fon at one and Rebeca two sabalenka staying at number three but Danielle Collins with another title she goes up to number four three spots higher than last week pushing Jang gof and ostap Peno down to 5 six and seven so she's won 1500 points over the last two weeks and that has really helped to get into that top four Pini she stays at number eight with Ken sky at number nine and kakina she jumps up seven spots at number 10 in the race of the finals pushing kostuk out of the race completely so Dasher making a lot of finals getting a lot of points gets a little bit of a reward there by getting into that top 10 all right over to the men's side of things and there was no major changes with jovic staying at one and CER at two Al at three and me at four Z stays at five with rublev at six Runa stays at number seven but we did have a change down the bottom with Hubie herat going up to number eight two spots higher than last week pushing rude down to number 10 with Grio demitro sitting there right in the middle of those two guys at number nine so little bit of a change there because her catch won in Portugal and rude the defending Champion lost in Portugal so that's where the change was made but of course A lot of these players are playing next week in Monte caros so it's going to be huge to see who wins that one because there is a th000 points up for grabs and we could see some big changes to depending on who wins that event over to the race of the finals now and again no major changes to the top with cner still at number one and meev at number two Z at three alas at four and deor at five demitro stays number six but we do have a change at the bottom half and this is a bit of an adjustment from last week because we started mod Cara on a Sunday so it kind of messed things up but rubl and bayz they have dropped down the rankings making Ray for rude and her catch who've leap frogged them after great success this week going to number seven and eight and on bear he gets pushed out of the top 10 completely which is a shame because he had such a great start of the year and then in March just couldn't replicate those results when other players did and unfortunately had to drop out the rankings but those are the race to finals and like I said there's a th000 points up for grabs this week we could see some massive changes to the race of the finals as well depending on who wins the event there it is that is the change of the rankings nothing up the top of the women or the men's rankings just because nobody played up the top of the rankings but this week like I said Mony Carlo is happening on the WTA it's actually a week off there's no one playing this week There's No tournaments on the WTA only Billy Jan King cup and of course that's not worth any points but let me know down in the comments below what is the most surprising part of the rankings this week it still surprises me that jovic is not even in the top eight for the race of the finals it's not like he's been terrible he just hasn't got enough points and the other guys have and he's just not in the race of the finals right now which is so so weird not to see his name because usually he's number one because he wins the Australian Open
