Collabro star Jamie Lambert talks about his experience with autism

as someone who is on the autistic spectrum and who has experienced school I went to a no I went to a school with you know other people who didn't have learning difficulties and I do think there is a degree of for me it's about training and if it's about making sure the teachers are safe and finding a line where there's a safety in the classroom but also there is an ability for the child with those needs to have a conducive learning environment but it's also about some children with special needs perhaps don't belong in mainstream they belong in really good finding a conducive learning environment school has a responsibility to its staff for their health and say yes and they have to protect them from an attack thirteen-year-old boy can be a little 13 you ought or can be very big 13 i was almost 6 foot 9 13 and i can tell you as well that there is another side to this which is that I dealt with the I had some teachers who were brilliant with it and who were excellent and I had some teachers who just didn't get it and were awful to me I mean really awful about a saint very personal things and making me stand in the class um and you know make me very embarrassed and had those teachers had their way and this is this whole thing is about teachers having the ability to exclude students rather than it having to go through a board and teachers saying we need the ability to exclude but had those teachers had their way I would not be in the position that I am today who and I would like to think I'm quite a well-rounded sociable human being and that is because of the teachers who were brilliant but had the other teacher said their way it wouldn't be in that case so I do think there is a there is a it's a very gray area where there needs to be a place for both staff to feel safe and students to be in the best learning environment for them
