I need a franchise quarterback I probably want to draft Bo Nicks or Michael penx and both have enough college starts they're ready to play okay so what does it say that he's had this in his draft for months in regard to the Broncos if they knew this field was happening Shawn pton looked at the video of both okay and his take is it would be a reach by Denver at 12 to get Bo Nick or penck okay if we can move back to 1819 a spot ahead of the Rams cuz people are concerned the Rams are going to take one of those guys because of Stafford's age so if we can move down six or seven spots get additional picks which we need in the division with Harbaugh Reed Herbert Mahomes and get him great if we if we move back it tells me Denver's moving back on the draft not up well they also moved up with that late round pick they up like 50 Pi I Denver now is moving back that's what it signals and not not a ton five spots get another second or third round pick hopefully land a Nicks or a penic I I got to tell you something it would not Shock me if Denver moved back got picks and they've made their mind up I think the tan kid is the player tan kid Michael Pratt has a lot of Brock pie won a lot of games highly productive same program I mean again a lot of he may see no gap between bonick and Pratt he may be its inches he sees a gap between Jaden and Caleb or Drake man bonick but Denver needs players hold on uh Sam Hartman put up massive numbers at weight went to Notre Dame start Stats come on if you're going by that uh Pratt's a better Prospect than clearly everybody likes Pratt more I just don't see why I think my Ken O'Brien comp May Rock the world 80% of our audience has no clue who that is that's what and I saw him play I thought Ken O'Brien that's what he reminds me of so Zach Wilson heads West back to maybe more comfortable surroundings out of the back draft gets more picks and has their eye on Rattler or Michael Pratt no remember Rattler was a the number one high school quarterback in the country he's a little loose for me he's a little Drew lock J Cutler for me but he's got talent I was bullish on him going to South Carolina and did you see what happened there like nothing no again Rattler you know how you know how I am he beat out Caleb Williams and then he didn't well he was supposed to be the next heightman winner remember Rattler it's not who starts the season it's who finishes I don't I don't is little Drew lock Jay Cutler a little loose for my taste little loose a little Zach Wilson for my taste so okay here's my here's my big guess Denver goes back not a ton but they go back five or six spots now because of this move I still think they want a quarterback but it's telling you that Shawn pton has looked at it Sean's like guys I we can't afford to move up for the top three I guarantee Sean knows that Nicks is four or five and his take is I'm not taking the fifth best quarterback at 12 I'll take him at 18 and get a third round pick then the value proposition changes but I bet you Sean Payton is looking at that two-lane kid because the two-lane kid's a lot like B Knicks you draw it up he makes the throws he sits in the pocket he's got some Brock pie stayed there lot of starts grown up dealt with some personal stuff this kid's an adult how about this I know uh you want to lock up the fifth year right for the quarterback by getting him in the first round would they trade back to say Kansas City Spot I know Divi in the division would Kansas City move up saying Rashid rice he could get a full season we need to go get a receiver yeah but the there's a huge drop off between neighbors of dun and Harrison and the fourth receiver we got Thomas LSU I no okay when you're not the best receiver in your college team you're not going to be Randy Moss I'm not moving up eight spots for a guy who's the second best receiver in college think about how good Ohio State's receiving recruiting has been for 5 years with Brian Hartline right now Ohio state gets the best receivers in the country Harrison is significantly better than their number two and their number twos are going in the first round so you're telling me this Brian Thomas Guy well he's not nearly neighbors okay I I can wait on that fine I mean Ohio state has only five star receivers Harrison is significantly better than their second best receiver that is is a that's a Transcendent that's a game changer by the way did you see USC spring game this weekend with no Caleb Williams they tell me you want to talk about that during the show are we gonna talk like four picks or something to the Chicago Bears and I'm reading the athletic this morning and there's a quarterback coach in the NFL who played in the league and he talked about Caleb Williams he said listen his arm there's a lot of wild stuff here this kid spectacular Talent this is generational stuff but he also added Contex said this NFL quarterback coach who again played in the league and I think he made great points about Caleb Williams and I'm going to show him to you the first one he said is the Bears head coach safe you have a firste coordinator it's not like he's going to a place that's stable it's not like the Jordan love Takeover in Green Bay the coach continued not going to be like that in Chicago defensive head coach Hot Seat new OC there was quarterback stuff for the last number one guy with Justin Fields half the team wanted him to stay half didn't those things are huge factors for a Young quarterback coming in at the start of his career and he continued look at Brock pie goes into a situation all the boxes are checked solid organization good defense play caller developer of talent knew exactly what he was looking for those things are critical if py goes to the Panthers we don't know who he is right now I do not disagree with any of those points but I'd like to add that something else is true if you're destined to be a star in this league you will be Trevor Lawrence entered a complete clown show year two in the AFC he won a playoff game Justin herberts had two coaches both whiffs he's got into the playoffs in a division with momes Joe burrow entered with a young head coach Co losing record Frugal owner nor indoor practice facility none in Cincinnati and Northern climate horrible offensive line at the time didn't have a dominant weapon running for his life and his career he's two plays from winning a Super Bowl yes yes where you land is really critical but the great ones find a way to do it the Colts were a mess Colts were a mess before pton Manning he won four MVPs there and got to two Super Bowls if Caleb Williams and I believe he is is generationally great you'll see it the Bears GM and owners will see it and if Matt Eber flu isn't the guy he'll be gone I suspect he will be after year one Herbert got the bag I mean Josh Allen think about this has yet to have a great o line has a def defensive coach he's on his third coordinator has never had a true number two receiver finally got an elite running back in the last five years they've been top four in offense you'll figure out how to get it done in every business Talent overcomes Talent wins Talent separates yes for 90% of these players for 90% of these players it's where you land it's who coaches you JJ McCarthy is not talented enough nor is Bo Nicks Michael pennick and I like all three to some degree they're not talented enough to go to a clown show and deal with a coaching Carousel Herbert is and in my opinion Caleb Williams is if you're destined to be a star in the entertainment business singing music Athletics you will be Jordan hit on his third coach Jordan eventually got Scotty eventually as Jordan fought with his owner and his GM and the first couple of coaches and teammates eventually it worked it always does all right around the corner latest on New England wants to move out of that number three spot and they've let it out for the world to know
