that is beautiful I am standing on the road that leads to Yellowstone which is through there the wife and I will be visiting the National Park here in a couple hours but first I want to take a look at the town that I'm in right now Cody Wyoming it's over there I will head there shortly take a look at this uh little small town I just wanted to start the video here so you could see this unbelievable site here that is the Shoshone River or the Shoshone River I've heard it pronounced two different ways that's the only time I'm going to say it because I don't want anybody screaming and yelling at me in the comment section about how I pronounced it it's spelled s-h-o-s-h-o-n-e but it cuts through this area and through town it's like a little mini Grand Canyon isn't it absolutely gorgeous that's it time to go take a look at the city of Cody right now okay I am in downtown Cody right now but before I uh start really diving into it a little bit uh it was a beautiful day to fly a drone so uh yeah let's check that out first [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] it's about 10 in the morning uh a Sunday there's no wind not a cloud in the sky about 70 degrees absolutely gorgeous here now like I said it's about 10 in the morning so downtown's a little quiet right now but it will get busy we were here yesterday and it was packed in fact we've already been here two days we're just kind of hanging out having some fun in the town before we started recording but um yeah I am in downtown Cody now the majority of it is a historic district yeah got some bikers driving by but um there's about 10 000 people here that's the population but there's most likely another 10 000 here in tourists there are a lot of hotels here and they're all full RV parks are full crammed full of people most of the buildings here were built around 1900 as you may have guessed the town is named after Buffalo Bill Cody who founded the city he actually came up here saw the area and thought to himself this would be a great town to be an entrance or a place to stop before you go to Yellowstone and that is exactly what it is to this day uh this is a town for tourists it's the number one industry here of course Buffalo Bill's presence is very well known and felt here [Applause] um he was an interesting person he had what was the name of his show the Buffalo Bills Wild West it was the top draw of the uh time he was arguably the most famous person on Earth around 1900. he was the first true worldwide Superstar but anyway a lot of his presence is still here as I said this Irma's Buffalo Bills Hotel was founded by him of course of course like I said the town's named after him and everything is Buffalo Bill Cody here which is okay by me because as a kid I loved reading about Buffalo Bill I devoured books on him so it's been a fun trip for me stopping in North Platte Nebraska to see his house where he lived and then of course coming up to this town that he loved so much that he founded and is alive and well to this day this is a very healthy town I was looking at some of the numbers the poverty rate here is six percent that's less than half the U.S average and the uh household and per capita incomes are right in line with the national average and the crime rate is two times lower than the national average so uh yeah it's just a very nice little town friendly people we love it here we've had a really good time but anyway I'll give you another quick look at the downtown even though it's 10 in the morning on a Sunday it is already filling up with people you can see people starting to wander around a bit these sidewalks were crammed with people yesterday of course it was a Saturday but they were full and uh yeah it's a lot of fun here all right so uh yeah I'm gonna show you a couple more places we'll do that now right here in front of the hotel he founded the Irma Hotel which is right there there's a statue of the man himself Buffalo Bill I'm hoping you can see it looks like he's kind of in the shade a little bit here but anyway of course you can get your picture taken with him it's a yeah he's right next to the Irma like I said earlier this is a hotel that he founded and I think he owned it at least owned it in the beginning [Music] yeah there's another look at the uh Irma Hotel and I'm gonna make my way through the uh edge of downtown here this is a beautiful city I went exploring the city uh yesterday drove around some of the neighborhoods and I mean that's the hills and the big Gorge Where the River kind of runs through the edge of town here I mean this place is so beautiful um I am coming up on one of the top draws arguably the top draw and if you come here to Cody and I highly recommend it it's a great place to come visit you will need to go here uh this is the Buffalo Bill uh center of the Wild West it is a museum I'm just going to drive on the outside of it the wife and I uh we went to it yesterday and uh it's shocking how incredible it is unexpected it is world class this Museum world class there's actually five of them in there there's a museum just on Buffalo Bill in his life and uh you know Western history there's one of the museums touches on the American Indians or that heavily uh displays and uh informs you on American Indian American Indian history I mean there's just a lot there and it's uh a good part of a day so first and foremost if you're in Cody [Music] uh go to this Museum I didn't bring the camera with me so I'm not going to show you any of the inside it's just something you need to come see for yourself because it is amazing as I said earlier Buffalo Bill is everywhere here and uh well you can see the statue for yourself cannot miss it another thing that you have to this when you're here is this Old Trail town it is here where Buffalo Bill stopped and said we're going to build a town right in this spot and they've built an old Frontier Town here um some of the buildings have been moved from other locations but they are the real deal and they include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kids uh a log cabin that they uh that they would hide out in the wife and I went in here yesterday as well it was really cool definitely worth an hour or two so yeah Old Trail town all right I am uh driving into uh Cody Stampede Park this is where the Cody Stampede Rodeo is held every year looks like some guys learned how to ride motorcycles right now uh Cody Wyoming rodeo capital of the world Rodeo is Big here and the Cody Rodeo Stampede which is around the Fourth of July every year is one of the if not the biggest rodeo in the United States it happens every year so uh yeah I just wanted to show you that you can't come to Cody and not acknowledge this and the fact that it is a cowboy town and Rodeo is Big here in fact you can look over here yeah it's got a someone working on a horse right now hopefully you can see that thank you yeah this is very much a rodeo town so there's that had to show you that I'm out on a bluff that overlooks the city in the uh scene right before this I was right over there where my finger is yeah the town is built on some Bluffs here you can see there's kind of a I guess a goalie here and the river's right there and there's a lot of homes up here too that overlooks it much of the town is right over here but uh yeah it's a nice view from up here I was up here yesterday driving around it's really nice all right so I'm going to go to the hotel and pick up Nicole my wife um this is our hotel right here uh Hampton Inn we stay at Hampton Inns fairly often most of them are pretty nice we've been to a few that weren't so great but this one is a really nice one and you can see where it is it's a nice location with the view but yeah this one's really nice it's got an indoor pool an outdoor hot tub and we've done two nights in it and uh a really good breakfast so it's a good place to stay it's also got a really nice gym if you want to work out on the road we do uh you know we don't have a house to work out in anymore so we work out on the road all right it's just got a great gym too really nice gym so that is a good hotel a good Hampton anyway like I said gonna go in there grab Nicole and we're gonna head towards Yellowstone which is directly that way and I'm going to video the trip there because it is a beautiful drive so that is coming up right now okay uh we are heading to Yellowstone yay have the uh wife is with me yay uh it says the E entrance is green to go so that's what we're gonna do they can't go to Gardner Montana I wonder why closed off they closed the road all right so here we go on to Yellowstone I had some guy in the comment section on one of the other videos say that Wyoming is ugly what Wyoming is beautiful I mean seriously look at that there are a few places in the country that match this right here this View that is unbelievably possibly say Wyoming is ugly the rock formations there are unbelievable looks like a dinosaur back doesn't it I wonder what that's called fascinating rock formations you see that then of course wow all right we are at the entrance to the park now but at least we did ours fast yeah we took our picture but all right we are entering Yellowstone National Park right now all right we are driving in the park now and we feel like we're in nowhere land look at that oh my gosh I've never seen it with just a grid yeah there's no satellite nothing at all no satellite nothing here usually when we run out of phone services it's just it'll I don't know you just don't get the little add-on thingies but this time it's better than nothing yeah it almost it well it definitely fears feels weird driving with that Australian Siri as knowing as she can be sometimes but we have a paper map yeah we have a paper map I didn't even know they made these anymore yeah we're gonna have to travel the old way back when I was a kid Maps you get used to these uh GPS's that tell you everywhere to go because it feels weird I gotta I gotta admit once we get to that museum we're gonna be changing directions changing roads so okay all right so here we go driving blind okay Yellowstone Lake the beach I bet that water is cold though it's very pleasant today it's uh let's see 64 degrees that's very comfortable out here there's like 10 degrees yeah all right we stopped for a minute at the Yellowstone General stores we're gonna do a little shopping let's see what's in here [Music] touristy stuff you got us a little Keepsake huh yeah I got us a Christmas tree ornament even though Christmas isn't around the corner or anything but it's still pretty has the Bears on it yeah yeah I got me some zingers and a Mountain Dew I'm ready to eat I couldn't have gotten those Anywhere But Here Yeah I'm ready for a snack so uh okay we're gonna get back out on the road this bird is huge he's not scared of me at all well he's a little scared of me I guess huh that's a big ass bird yeah there's some Falls over here so we're gonna go check them out the Kepler Cascades beautiful you gonna get a picture cool and come over to the other side here all right we are taking the exit to see Old Faithful well make no mistake I think this is probably the top attraction or one of them anyway guys are parking look at all these cars that was quite a lot wow cars it's full too I'm gonna try to find a parking spot oh there's some over there we just walked out the visitor center and Old Faithful Is Dead Ahead can see her steaming it's not set to go off for about another 40 minutes did we figure so we have 40 minutes to kill because I'm not coming all this way and not seeing Old Faithful that's just the way that is but uh as my wife heads that direction get a look around the grounds here it's a hotel Lodge that looks like it right there and this is the visitor center and okay back around I go check out this uh Old Faithful all right there she is Old Faithful uh it's set to go off again or scheduled to go off again at uh round four they say it's 3 22 now so we've got almost 40 minutes so around 40 minutes to kill so I guess we'll look around let's hold faithful there it's like but there's a lot of other stuff in the area to see uh looks like there's more geysers over there so we've got some time to kill I'm gonna go check it out right hand I was wondering if we could go off the path here and touch the water they're doing it so I'm going to do it no what oh there you go I guess I better not touch it foreign said don't touch it okay let's see how hot it is ground is really soft here huh well is it hot the water is warm touch it too oh yeah it's like lukewarm oh my hand is burning off watch the water the chemicals that girl's funny I can't believe you hesitated after you heard what you said oh hey she might have knew what she's talking about yeah at least I can say I've touched geyser water not everybody can say that am I right probably a lot of people can say that not bad I don't think so you've only touched it after I touched it I know wrong but I still touched it well maybe sad that they have to put that sign there yeah that is sad but wow look at that look at that hot water if I'm American Indian two three hundred years ago this is where I'm pitching my TP right here fresh water and hot water it'll Heat this whole area up a little bit anyway that is so cool and look at the way the rock looks you can smell the sulfur oh you're right you can't smell it it feels good feel it on your legs yeah I'm standing right here you could feel the heat oh yeah I can feel the heat and hit my legs yeah because it's only about 62 degrees up here way up here what about what it's 8 000 feet above sea level of course this water is boiling so it's obviously more than 212 of these yeah how awesome look at this it's so cool just to see it wow blue star spring yeah that water is so clear I don't know if I'm getting how clear it is yeah I'm getting it that is amazing just make sure when I jump in it it does huh but that's steaming hot it'd burn in a hurry that's beautiful you can totally see why they set this aside as a national park it's just beautiful everywhere yeah wow we are back at Old Faithful it's due to erupt in the next 10 minutes I'll be ready there's definitely more steam isn't it now we're still waiting give you an idea of how many people are here to see it there's a lot look at all these people on either side of us Bunch this way waiting for this four o'clock eruption or right around four o'clock let's get ready to go [Music] it's like four o'clock on the dot they [Music] wow wow that is uh beautiful look at that I'm not even looking at myself I'm kind of looking at it too at the side look at that it's a lot more beautiful than I thought it would be a problem everybody's clapping [Applause] yeah it was worth it it was quite a show that's worth driving here all this way to see that is so awesome it's more up here too see that that is amazing Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone 800 to 1200 feet in depth oh you just uh walk down this pathway and boy do you get a view oh look at that holy cow that is Majestic is the word I guess you can see the water way down there let's get a picture yeah [Music] that is something that's way down there getting late in the day we're exhausted we saw a lot it was really awesome but uh we're gonna head back to Cody now and we're gonna have some dinner when we get there so that's coming up next foreign we're at the Irma Hotel we're gonna go into the restaurant and have a little dinner because if you come to Cody you have to go to the restaurant and hotel that he founded so that's what we're doing right now dining room to the right this is the restaurant but we're gonna go to the bar no room at the bar sucks yep it's full all right I'm in the uh restaurant area of the Hotel this is the famous Cherrywood back bar given to Buffalo Bill by Queen Victoria of England oh it's something you definitely have to see when you are here this hotel it was finished in 1902. make my way into it it was named after his daughter [Music] um Buffalo Bill would stay here when he was on break from his show his traveling Wild West show and the hotel was always busy when he was here yeah you can tell it's over 100 years old when you walk through it there's the lobby guess where you check in yep the whole building is an antique well what's these hmm [Music] cool yeah this is a very much an old style hotel isn't it [Music] the second floor so stairs but it's got a big picture of Buffalo Bill right there and there's the wife playing on her phone we're waiting for our buffalo ribs here in Buffalo Bills restaurant slash Hotel we are having the buff we're just going to share this and then we're going to have something in another place as well you've got your Jack Daniels as usual I do too anyway we're gonna dive into these short ribs see if they're good man these are fantastic right they're very tender very tender very very tender yeah they're awesome so uh wife wanted to see the hotel too she pointed out this old school heater here radiator yeah yeah you think it still works is it still Heat it's not hot right now no we're working right now it would be hot on the outside oh cool I'm gonna go down the hall of the hotel for a second see what's here you think they got a swimming pool probably not look they have a heater here too a gym and a hot things but you never know maybe they do yeah look very old school Hotel see there's another one of those right uh radiators down there yeah the Irma estimated Neptune do it there you go huh there you go [Music] sitting next to Buffalo Bill with your Key West shirt on my end you don't have what I don't have like a big rifle in my hand yeah you gotta have a rifle don't you don't have any Spurs it is a beautiful night tonight yeah there's no wind had a cloud in the sky beautiful but we're gonna go to one more place uh Cassie's Cassie's the sign's not lit up but anyway Buffalo Bar we're gonna go there and have one more drink Howdy Folks welcome to Cassie's you can hear the country music already but anyway all right we're gonna head in here and check it out very Cowboy it's got a live music very interesting Decor we're definitely in Wyoming yeah we have a guy in the bar telling us that this used to be a brothel so someone in the comments who knows that be sure to uh comment and tell us all about it all right that's it for Cody Wyoming we're not sure where we're going next so uh be looking for that
