CMU hacking team going for third DefCon title in four years

Carnegie Mellon's hacking team the plaid Parliament of boning is looking to win its third DEFCON capture-the-flag title in four years DEFCON is commonly regarded as the world series of hacking it brings the best and the brightest computer security experts from all around the world to test their skills against each other in a virtual game of capture the flag teams try to break into other team systems while protecting their own they capture virtual flags and earn points competitions like DEFCON capture the flag allows security experts to practice and hone their skill many participants are security experts working in government and industry this year's Def Con caps of the flag will take place August 5th through the 7th in the Paris Hotel and Conference Center in Las Vegas
