Chris Stapleton Makes Garth Brooks Cry With 'Shameless' Cover

[Music] certainly if you're not aware of who chris stapleton is you probably haven't been paying close attention to country music for at least the last 10 years chris stapleton has to be one of the most talented musicians in general on the planet his soulful voice cuts through it's a signature sound and you know he's just been growing and growing and growing and his music has grown and grown and grown over the years and he just seems to keep getting better and better and the thing about chris stapleton is that he has the respect you know he's somewhat of a newer artist you know but at the same time he has the respect of all his peers because you watch him perform for even just a moment and you can immediately tell there's something really special about him and so he's breaking all sorts of records and winning grammys and just you know carving out a legendary performance and he also seems like a very nice guy for those of you who've seen his interview on joe rogan experience he seems like a really laid back nice guy very interesting story but speaking of getting that cred from the country music veterans there's a performance that garth that chris stapleton recently turned in where he actually made garth brooks break down in tears as he sung his classic hit shameless and put his own signature twist on it and it was so good that it moved garf the tears [Music] who's oh been insecure by the way [Music] is [Music] what i couldn't do me [Music] is [Music] wow [Music] gotta let it oh [Applause] so [Music] [Applause] so he was being honored by the library of congress and they brought out the big guns at that performance you had performances by keith urban lee bryce ricky skaggs keb mo and his wife trisha yearwood and of course the great chris stapleton putting on that amazing performance of shameless garth brooks has always been a bit of a crier we've talked about that here before but when you see a legend a future legend like chris stapleton performing your song and obviously no doubt about it garth brooks is as much of a legend as it can possibly be it's gonna make you a little bit emotional sort of you know passing the torch and things like that so that's very cool to see folks and of course garth brooks has his new album fun out everywhere now or i think it's only on amazon music what's up with that anyways folks that is all for now thanks so much for joining us today at country cast if you're new here be sure to subscribe with notifications on so you don't miss out on breaking news and updates thanks again for joining us and we'll see you all very soon
