i thought i'd take around what i've done here so i've fitted a diesel heater in the garage that's the diesel heater so it's on so i fitted a shelf above and then a second shelf so you can see that's the uh control unit so it's a power control unit that's the air intake um i've got my remote on this you know on this uh on the shelves 12 volt supply goes up to the top of the heater at the back and then runs down and then goes to the power supply unit and i'll show you the power supply and it might get bit of noise because the fan's just gone i've just switched it on and then that's the power supply unit so what i've got here i've got the power in on this one that's from the plug and then i've got the supply out to the heater and i've got another supplier which is powering my charging unit so i've got 12 volt charging unit over there because i can use the terminals because there's enough terminals on there to try to use it and then i've got the exhaust coming out here and i've sleeved the exhaust i'll show you the whole exhaust in a second i've sleeved the exhaust and then that's the air intake so it's taking air from inside the room and that's away from the exhaust so the exhaust goes down here now this is a little heat shield i've put because it's mounted this is a wood a faulty wood wall so i've mounted uh that on heat shield on there so it doesn't burn the wood and then i've sleeved it down to there now notice i put a straight through silencer on there so that's a straight through which means because you can tell it's a straight through because the the holes in the same size it's just powering up now so you might get a bit of noise now yeah it's powering up it's going it's his first time running and then what i've done is i've i've put another the exhaust out of out there up to a window i've taken the window out it's a window pane and then on here this is a marine exit exhaust exit so on the other side it's stainless steel the two pipes don't touch you so there's a pipe inside which is the exhaust and then this outer side is bolted to this piece of plywood uh marine ply and she's just turned off i don't know why she's turned off that we'll check in a second once you turn up i've sleeved that and then i put another heat shield here because what did i measure the uh the temperature of the exhaust difference so it goes to there so it doesn't burn this wire i've got a wire power supply wire here and then a power supply on there so i put heat shield there because this is actually quite close to that so i'll put heat shield there and then i've got a i'm going to mount the sound to here so i'm going to mount it so it doesn't move it moves a tiny bit now so i'm going to mount it with a bracket a u-shaped bracket onto that piece of wood and then i've got my fire extinguisher bolted to the wall in case it all goes wrong of course and that is my heater so we'll power up again and we'll start her off and see if she blows out some nice warm air so that's reasonably solid now the reason i've heat shielded it is because the i don't want to touch the blooming exhaust these get rid of these i've just used this exhaust wrapping and then lock wired it on it's actually a sleeve i'm not it's not wrapped around it's just a sleeve that goes over the 24 mil pipe i've put a joint in here which is a 22 mil pipe and then a joint on either side of the of here so it uh so i've cut the pipe cut the exhaust pipe then put a 22 mil joint in there with an exhaust clamp on there exhaust assembly paste has been put in so it seals and then properly i've used proper jubilee clips on here because the clip the jubilee clips you get with the actual unit they're pretty rubbish i couldn't get them tight at all so i've used real jubilee clips on there so i've got a joint in there which is a 22 mil joint inside the 24 and because they are 24. so if you still tube inside that exhaust repair tube for scooters and stuff and then that joins the unit together like it is and what else have we done so i've wrapped the whole exhaust so don't touch it and get burnt and that's the air intake of course and then the heater stand on a shelf at the top and i'll fill up there i can just get in quite nicely to fill up with diesel i'm using pump diesel at the moment because i want to make sure it works and stuff but that's all that's all done so the power supply and it goes up to there that other 12 volt i was talking about runs past my shelving and it runs into there and then up to there i've got a little 12-volt charger here into there so it runs into there it's just on my shelf or bolted to my shelf and i've got a little 12 support 12 volt supply unit it's just for charging the screwdriver up here and stuff you know keep the screwdriver up there so it just charges that up keeps all my kit charged so that's the heater i'm going to power up again because i think i didn't set the temperature that's why it's not fired up so i'll set the temperature and fire up again and see if she gets my freezing cold workshop which i think is about three or four degrees at the moment so if it gets in my freezing cold workshop all nice and warm so that's the heater up and running are up and connected i didn't go with one of the little units because these are simpler these are really easy if you can fit them in obviously it's a workshop so i don't need one of the little heaters and then try and wire it up i've used a big heater with the casing on so i just effectively connect the exhaust up and what you're allowed on these exhausts is you're allowed 270 degrees of bend so what i've got is i've got two 90s so that's a 90 and that's a 90 then i've got a 45 about 45 degree bend there and i've got about a 45 there so that's my 270. so i'm less than 270 on the exit i'm taking the exhaust out of the window that should be fine and i've used this if i didn't use a straight through exhaust some of the exhaust on these they've got a different they've got an outlet there and an outlet there and they go in kind of a v shape and that gives you more resistance on the exhaust so i've used a straight through one which will still keep the the heater reasonably quiet but it's a straight through there's no bend on the exhaust there's no extra bends and of course i've used exhaust clamps on here we've spotted these these are actual real exhaust clamps they're not um you know the little fiddly little things that you get with the unit and then on this join i've used this is 24 mil pipe uh you know the flattened pipe at the end of an exhaust normally on the heater unit and this is a flattened this is all exhaust placed or used to call it gun gum i think it's called fire gum now but i've used exhaust assembly place to to seal the units cut a slit in the top of the um you know the top of the flat bit on the pipe just so this exhaust clamps nice and tight so it's nice and tight and rigid and air sealed it moves slightly because i haven't uh clamped the exhaust up to the wood yet but i'll i'll clamp that up and then if i touch this it's um it'll still be hot but it doesn't burn me instantly so we'll fire up again and see if she probably got a prime yet and then fire up so i'll see if it actually all goes to plan and then fires up so i'll set the temperature i might have to do another youtube video to set the temperature and then we're all ready to go so i hope you enjoyed it i hope it's useful i'm gonna use the remote yet i've paired the remote with the unit yet so yeah we'll see if you all works maybe in the next video
