Children Church - Jesus Appeared to the Disciples (Luke 24:36-49 | John 20:19-23)

[Music] hello everyone I'm miss Bethany and today you're here to learn a new lesson about Jesus if you haven't seen our last week's video or any of our previous videos you can check the link provided at the bottom of the screen before we get into our new lesson we're going to review what we learned last week with going over a few questions the first question is when were the two disciples walking to Emmaus on this same day that Jesus rose again who joined them on their journey Jesus himself joined them okay did they know that it was Jesus no they didn't know that was Jesus walking with them what did Jesus teach them Jesus taught them that all scripture point back to him how did the Emmaus disciples feel while Jesus taught them their hearts burned inside of them okay last one what did the Emmaus disciples do when they realized who Jesus was they hurried to Jerusalem to tell others about Jesus's resurrection okay so there's a big-picture question that we've had for the last few weeks because we've been talking about Jesus's death on the cross and Jesus rising begin and defeating death so our question has been why did Jesus died on the cross can you guys tell me Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins and came back to life to show that we are forgiven great job guys so now that we reviewed last week let's introduce what you guys will learn today our story is about Jesus appearing to his disciples and you can find the story in Luke chapter 24 verses 36 through 49 or John chapter 20 verses 19 through 23 now you're going to watch your video and I'll see you back here shortly on the first day of the week in the evening the disciples gathered together in the house they lock the doors because they were afraid of the Jews they didn't want to be killed like Jesus had been killed but wait Jesus had appeared to two disciples on the road and Mary Magdalene had reported seeing him alive too could it be true as the disciples talked Jesus came stood among them and said to them peace to you the disciples were afraid they couldn't believe their eyes was this really Jesus the disciples thought they were seeing a ghost why are you afraid it's me why do you doubt Jesus said look at me and touch me a ghost does not have flesh and bones but I do I'm not a ghost Jesus showed his disciples his hands and his side they saw the holes in his hands and in his side Jesus was alive it seemed too good to be true the disciples rejoiced because they were so happy to see Jesus the disciples gave Jesus and fish to eat Jesus talked to them and explained the Bible to them the Bible is about me jesus said he helped them understand how the law of Moses the prophets and the Psalms told about him then Jesus told the disciples that they had a job to do Jesus had died and was raised from the dead so that people could be forgiven for their sins the disciples needed to tell other people to repent from their sin and be forgiven peace to you jesus said to them again God sent me to earth and in the same way I am sending you Jesus sent out the disciples to be his witnesses and to tell all the people that he is alive for forty days Jesus presented himself to at least 500 people and proved that he is alive Jesus is still alive today he sends out believers to tell others about him and gives us power through the Holy Spirit welcome back now let's talk about what you guys just watched sometimes it's hard to remember that Jesus disciples were afraid I think sometimes I often take Jesus coming back to life or grant it because I've heard about it so many times his followers didn't know if it was true or not they had heard rumors but they didn't actually know even though Jesus had told them about his crucifixion and had told them that he was going to be killed he writes again they were still afraid when he showed up in the door of Islam they thought he was ghost Jesus taught them about the way Scriptures are about him so that brings me to a question what is our mission as believers well jesus said that he would his disciples to tell other people about him and about what the scriptures say about Jesus that he died for sin and was raised to life again he also told them to wait for this Holy Spirit to come and give them power what is our mission as believers our mission is believers is to make disciples of all nations by the power of the Spirit our mission hasn't changed since the very beginning or Jesus's mission for his disciples a very very long time ago was to go and tell others so our mission is the same when we have faith in Jesus we get the Holy Spirit and that gives us God's power and we are called to go on the hill there's a fountain Jesus have proved that he is alive buying cream appearing in front many people over a 40 day period after his resurrection the importance of his resurrection that it showed he paid for sin and defeated death that's the good news that we get to go out and tell other people about so we're gonna make something kind of fun you guys can use any type of paper that you have at home you can make this it's very simple to draw out and you can decorate it we're gonna make a megaphone the megaphone allows you to go out and tell mostly just your family right now because we can't go anywhere yet but telling others about Jesus okay so to do this crap do you just need a sheet of paper and you can draw out two lines you want to make them the same leap you can use a ruler you have one at home and what you're gonna do is you're gonna connect the lines by going up this way and then connecting the lines by going up that way as well okay you can decorate it right now before you cut it out or you can cut it out and then decorate it alright you know I'm gonna show you my finished product I used glitter so you can use any type of things that you have at your house mine wasn't perfectly straight but this is mine and mine says go tell about Jesus and I have some glitter on there so you can use it to shout you can make more than one if you want but it's just a little activity that you guys craft you guys can do to remember our lesson today let's review what you guys just learned in our new story why do the disciples keep their door locks they were afraid that the Jews are going to kill men just like they need to kill Jesus what did Jesus say to them when he first appeared peace to you how long did the disciples react to Jesus is appearing they were afraid and they thought that he was a ghost what did Jesus do to reassure them he showed them his hands he showed his feet and he invited them to touch him to see that he had flesh how did Jesus I'm sorry what did jesus promised them power from God on high what is our mission as believers our mission is believers is to make disciples of all nations by the power of the Spirit when Jesus talks about just making disciples what does he mean by that he means that just like he made his own disciples he asked people to follow him what he means by that is to encourage to strengthen he wants people to know more about him so that they too can go out and make disciples so then we can continually telling everyone about Jesus till the whole roll notes about it so guys I am very very proud of every one of you kids that on the other side of the screen I know that you've been very good to continue listening and learning more about Jesus I promise you that choosing to follow Jesus will be the best decision you will ever ever make last week we talked about different ways that we can walk with Jesus just like the Emmaus disciples if that meant reading our Bible praying or where she became with song or things that we do for others so today I want to encourage you guys to pick someone in your family this week and ask them one question we want to make sure that the question is about Jesus and maybe even about something that confuses you if there was anything that we discussed today that didn't make sense let that be your question I hope that your questions will start some really fun conversations in your homeless week I love you kids so much and I'm really looking forward to seeing you very very
