[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] because initially get introduced not only usually last [Music] if these art guys are too small when they go through this especially because we do have two large quarters in there it can be a bit of a struggle for the life of these guys to get through it I also have a drink tub who can be very aggressive so we're gonna chance to get out here and I'll show you and show you the little house that you made for them and everything over the top of us we do have bird netting I don't like using bird netting it's a huge pain in the butt and you do have learn to read some chickens that do you do well against large predators like hawks and things like that coming from but because these guys are so tiny and they're obviously easy prey we do have some nice bird netting over the top of us and this look at these guys a chance to get into the soil and all that good stuff and we do have them out of medicated feed still [Music] nice little panic form they've got a big rock over here to play on and hopefully this should stay grass for a while as you can see our paddock on the side is completely dirt especially because the Ducks they do a number on that these guys are getting pretty big now around a month old or so I'll have to double check that exactly what date we got them in we're doing really well whether we have their feet out here and last year you may have seen this crate here that crate is actually what I have beets growing in last year but my husband Chris last night took it and built this top on it nice little slanted roof that you can lift up and get inside and cut a little door there for them to go in and out and we are gonna put a little oops sorry about that we do have a piece of wood that goes over that I just have to stop at the shore and get some hinges can you see these little guys over here how big they're getting and I do believe that we do have six roosters in there which are if you see these guys here which are much wider than everyone else I do believe that those are true stirs so the idea is that we'll pick the strongest looking one and we're going to keep him for breeding and the rest will be meat birds and the idea is that we will keep the meat birds in your in this paddock separated from the other birds and have them on a meat feed until they're ready for that and then switch the ladies over into the paddock with the layers and then we'll keep this little grown-up pen here for every year with me get new checks and we do have the buck dramas and drop dramas do go broody these guys have a tendency to go a little beauty too as they get bigger and if we have a lady who decides she wants to sit and wants to breed herself we'll move her and her eggs into this paddock to give her some privacy and let her raise her chicks in a comfort [Music] this is really nice so glad to see these guys out here they were getting crowded inside I was feeling bad for me I needed to get out so we've been bustin buttons this spring to get everything done we've got a nice fence around the outside here that we put up and we didn't see me style we have the tree posts for a fence line lucidi those would be around we do have a chicken wire fencing around smaller release on the bottom there keep them from getting through or any raccoons from racing through [Music] I'm gonna hang over here in the corner of the dirt it's a little secret get used to the idea whoa we are starting to get some nice crown from some of those guys especially the ones that I do also believe are looser hello can we just jumped up on my knee am I your roost at least you're friendly I'm squatting behind you guys and she just came up and he sat on my knee as she should sitting in my lap here but they are getting some really nice crowns on their head already if you don't know you can see that on camera it just started to turn nice and red the weather is nice today there are so many are actually on our last frost date today which is very early this year I'm going based on in the almanacs prediction of our last frost date Emily can you come over and let them see you I'm not too close I'm going on the almanacs prediction for our last frost date normally our last frost date lies around the 12th to the 15th but they are saying they fit for this year Cinco de Mayo so out here and not have any problems especially with their little house there and there's a little roost inside of it it's built as well for them because they did start ripping inside [Music] all right well I figured I'd give you guys a chance to watch him u-turn of course will be bringing me out this year and will definitely show you guys it'll be a bit before that but we will show you when we introduce them to the larger birds and mix them in with that flock well as you can see we've already got a note that's on camera it's already got her own pecking order happening here between two of the Roosters you see so it's a lot nicer for them to be able to do that here and not be trying to do that thing with full-grown roosters and that's why they like to separate them otherwise I guess that I'll bring you guys along and show you us introduce them to the big birds when the time comes and all that good stuff I appreciate your joining in on us with this and all of our videos if you guys haven't subscribed definitely give it a thought because we love sharing what we're doing around here we're doing tons of gardening chickens ducks all that good fun stuff building but otherwise I appreciate all of your support if you like this video please hit that like button and is such an incredible help to us and you really truly do appreciate it and we thank you and I hope that you guys enjoy the rest of your day and your week maybe get outside the family otherwise I will see you on the next one I love you all god bless and bye bye
