Chicken Hole Base EP. 3: The First Night

[Music] hi everyone goto here welcome back to my lab so I am currently a heading out to Nevada this is going to be the first night that I spend out there so that's exciting and that I need to film early in the morning because I want to get the mood in my shots and just the time of the month the moon is only gonna be really visible in the early morning so I figured I can either leave really early before the Sun even comes up or I could leave now so it's 7:30 it's gonna be dark by the time I get there but at least if there's any kind of delays they'd all still be able to film my video in the morning you can see I'm in my Honda it'd probably be better to have my truck but it's not super reliable it's it's old it doesn't like the heat and I'm kind of curious to see if this little car can make it out there I think it can and certainly its exhaust system is far less likely to start a fire so I'm just gonna put on an audiobook and I'll see you guys in a bit there's the Sun setting over the salt flats here's the flower thing well as you can see this dark and I'm on a dirt road and I'm gonna be on this dirt road probably next half-hour it's a lays out here the kangaroo rat I finally got one on camera oh oh there's some cool I thought I had some last year but turns out they were just ordinary mice where'd it go I love them stay over there okay no the grass and everything's getting taller clearly no one's been this far in a while sex I might be the last person to be able to put this far I find that unlikely but it is possible dear yeah like plants have not had anyone go through we since the spring I'm definitely gonna need to pull weeds out of my radiator after this yeah that just filled the radiator with grass okay I recognize this one more mile to go of course I gotta get up over this hill this is hard worried the car might not make it yes wheels are slipping oh yeah no problems at all very nice back down actually a lot more help this one might be worse let's try to okay that was oil pressure we still have well the we're down in the valley now there's a ravine up that cross you might have to park at it thank you okay loose it looks like it look that bad I'm gonna get out and have a look I know my truck can get out the car oh yeah that's fine maybe this isn't even what I'm thinking of okay no problems and out of everything that's at night my temperature there is fine to say depression you know some happen to drive kind of off to the side here let's try it I Center okay that was weird spiderweb person ah okay see the cliffs yes means I'm on my property already home I made it go too fast Juana their road turns but I don't want to go Street actually I think this is about as far as I'm gonna go let's nice flat spot park Oh cliffs over there pinion pine trees very nice [Music] yeah pay me to a few minutes and pull that all out of there especially before I make it to the highway yeah here we are this is chicken hole I can't see anything with the camera well I've made my bed I've got a nice view out the back window of the Stars of course you can't see anything because the camera is not sensitive enough to see much without the light on might be able to make out Jupiter right there yeah I know I'll take a couple of still photos you'll never guess what I just did I've got no way in I'm gonna have to break a window I'm just gonna take some sky photos of these amazing stars okay I'll think of something this doors not locked it's just that the windows broke only I could reach in there and like actuate the mechanism somehow okay what do I got I'd really rather not have to resort for breaking a window I have a sock that fell out of the car yeah barefoot weight belt there's some stuff they threw out some make space for myself is there any wire clips jacket good if it gets cold ladder imagine I don't have any cell service okay I have this I think there's some wiring that pocketknife I took everything out of my pockets cuz I was asleep see my knife and keys are literally right there I can't get them back okay I have located a rock I make a good weapon or a tool to break the glass I'm not gonna break the glass unless I really have to okay I'm going for the hose he doesn't feel that strong and might be able to tear it with my hands now tearing with hands but you have a sharp stick okay I have a wire okay let's see if I can do this usually damages the weatherstripping okay it's in we've gotta do is get that to hook onto that door handle okay and I got the wire around the handle yeah that's coyotes I probably sound like a distressed animal I can feel is on me seen them yet okay so it's been a few minutes I'm still kind of shaking the adrenaline still coming down I don't know if I'm gonna be able to get to sleep really need to because I gotta get up kind of early that's why I came out here I almost had the door open with the wire but once I saw those eyes I was done I think it's just coyotes it's probably just curious you know a single coyote they're not that big they're mostly fluff the issue is you get a big pack of them I've seen what they've done to deer it ain't pretty and I didn't want this to be some kind of found footage so I ended up giving up on the wire so yeah okay I'm in the car I'm fine hi I'm such an idiot see you guys in the morning okay yeah there's no morning yes this means I survived my first night very nice let's hope that subsequent nights aren't as bad I feel not very rested at all huh okay I got a video to film hope y'all enjoyed more than I did I'll see
