CHEAP AUTO DARKENING HELMET REVIEW HOW TO USE AN AUTO DARKENING WELDING SHIELD or WELDING HELMET

hey YouTube this is the green scrapper and today we're going to be doing a review and how to use the Harbor Freight autodarkening welding helmet that has one 25,000 of a second switching speed which is the fastest one that they had because we want to try to make sure we don't go blind or need glasses while welding but being able to have it auto darkening for us alright so we're gonna go and pull it open see what we got inside helmet and comes with the owner's manual and a little plate go ahead and pull off our warning labor okay and right here you see it's got the little solar panel to go ahead and help charge it it's got the darkening screen here and you can actually take out inside it's got a sweatband and an adjustable and adjustable hat so that you can adjust the size it's supposed to be one size fits all and inside its got the sensitivity it's got the sensitivity for low and high sensitivity it's got the delay time for slow and fast of course we want to go ahead and have the fast delay and we want to do high sensitivity because I don't want to go blind and you see over here in the corner it's got the little battery pack so that while you're using it in Auto darkens and powers itself before you get started you want to go ahead and place the helmet on your head and you want to go ahead and adjust it here to go ahead and get the size that you need so fit it to the head and then on the side it has the tensioner so once you get the basic size for your head you can adjust this to make it tight on your head while you're welding so it doesn't fall off and there's one on either side of the helmet and to adjust the back of the helmet what you do is you actually push in the knob and then you turn it and then what it does is with a spring it pops out so that you can't move it so that's good so you pop it in and then turn it so once you got a pretty good fit just tighten it on the side to make sure it's completely tight the way you want it so that it has a good fit so you can throw it up throw it down get your welding done and then as you see here on the welder this is a 90 amp flux wire welder so what we're gonna do is we're gonna look at the chart that they provide and we're going to be using the MIG welder settings all right and so what you do is you come over here to the welding process arc for the amperes okay and so we're gonna be doing about a hundred okay so you look here and a hundred is gonna be between ten and eleven all right ten and eleven so what you want to do is you want to get your helmet here and on the side that's got your settings and you want to make sure that you set this before you get started now when you put it on the grind option that actually it's still a little bit dark but it actually allows you to go ahead and look through it and see so you can still see all right and so what we want to do is we want to set it between ten and eleven and they say to go ahead and set it at the darkest before you get started so we're going to set it at eleven and see how that goes but the setting does go all the way up to thirteen okay so we're gonna go ahead and try eleven and see how that goes share this video and subscribe now check out our Harbor Freight 90 app welder review and unboxing also check out how to do an oil change on your Dodge Ram or how to scrap washing machines for cash once again thanks for watching and we'll see you next time
