so welcome to charlotte plain station where we're going to stay tonight are you looking for a place to stay or camp in outback queensland to enjoy the hot artesian baths then keep watching to find out the charlotte plain station is located in southern outback queensland it's about 40 minutes outside of kanamala and offers a very unique outback experience with camping near kanamala it's well signed posted from the highway and has two entrances on the east or west side of the property [Music] driving into the allocated areas will all be on dirt road [Music] i post a lot of outdoor content and you through an open gate but a closed gate will need to be shut again once you're through also note there's no mobile reception on the entire property except for a small amount near the main house and some wi-fi check-in is at the main house which you will arrive from first if you're coming from kanamala if you're coming from the west side you will find the unpowered sides and the artesian hot baths first [Music] charlotte plains is a family owned and operated sheep station so there will be standard farm animals around like the sheep cows horses and goats [Music] not only that but you will find some other unique animals wandering around like emus heaps and heaps of different bird varieties and some brokers [Music] [Music] if you're really lucky and they're in season you might find some cute little baby animals around in the wild [Music] do [Music] or ones that need help feeding back at the main house [Music] [Music] [Music] if you're looking for something to do or something to add to your nightly barbecue cook-up then you could even go fishing in the creek for some yabbies [Music] the non-powered camping sites are right beside the 11 artesian hot baths and offer a barbecue and basic toilets and shower facilities the few powered sites and the cabins are available 10 kilometers down the road [Music] these offer a kitchen and lounge area for everyone [Music] as well as a barbecue toilets and showers as well as some basic sleeping quarters which were once used as the sheep shearer's homestay [Music] the sharing shed is right beside the cabins and can be explored in your own time or you can talk to the owners about a guided tour [Music] in the evening take advantage of the supplied campfire and the wood and end the night chatting to the other guests [Music] well this is the highlight to your stay at charlotte plain they have the artisan water here i think it's about 40 degrees celsius so very very warm they have some cute authentic little baths here they have about 11 of these baths actually situated along the water's edge this is obviously your prime position here but um yeah it's really great to sit here and watch the sunset or actually watch the sun rise every morning the bus are right beside the non-powered site so if you're off-road camping then you can park anywhere along here uh the powered sites and the cabins that we're actually staying in are situated about 10 kilometers down the road further closer towards the homestead so but you drive up here there is a lot of baths here i'm guessing when it is a busier time of year it might be harder to get in the bath but you're not actually in the bath for very long because it is quite hot um but yeah we're gonna go jump on in the great artesian basin is one of the largest underground water reservoirs in the world and it's about 100 to 250 million years old it consists of layers of water sandstone and is replenished during the rainfall it takes up about one-fifth of australia and the reason you can find several experiences like this throughout outback queensland south australia northern territory and new south wales the water inside the basin moves very slow at around point two or two point five meters per year and it goes to about a hundred to three thousand meters deep the ball here is never turned off and flows roughly at five hundred and twelve thousand gallons of water per day the temperature ranges over 40 degrees celsius and this is why it's perfect spot for sunrise sunset and those winter seasons the minerals from the underground rocks and the heat make it a relaxing spa and therapeutic to your skin and muscles mostly the water is fresh and suitable for drinking although it might have a slight smell from the minerals it's advised to only stay in the bath for about 20 minutes but after a break you can just jump right back in [Music] the artesian water or creek runs all around the property and you can drive beside it for a long time it's also a great place to find all your animals the water is cooler here away from the borehead and the animals will come down to drink now i really hope you're adding to the charlotte plains station and the hot
