Song is pretty good, kept waiting for it to go somewhere, but that didn't really happen since it's so short - also the gagging noise around 1:35 really threw me for a loop tbh. His bass lines are always fire though

Not sure if this bad boy image really fits him. It feels really cringe imo

BUT speaking solely to the song, I like this new dark sounding direction, it's a very nice evolution of his production style and am looking forward to the new album!

This was a little underwhelming and definitely sounds like a deep cut rather than a single. The production was too repetitive and felt like it was building up to something but instead just kept looping and fizzling out and going nowhere.

Idk y’all, I liked his last album, so I wanted to like this too but it’s just not doing anything for me.

Of course I love the song Popheads hates lol. It's fine because you'll pretend you all loved it in a few weeks. Everyone is insisting there's a wannabe bad boy thing going in but I don't see it. Using a dark synth does not equal trying to be a bad boy. He's not going to sing whiny pining songs his entire life. I don't see him trying to act tough in any way here lol. Maybe Popheads has a weird idea of what toughness or bad boys look like though, idk. Male singer being slightly serious =/= trying to be bad lol.

Personally I liked it. It's a simple bop but I didn't feel like it was "building to something and didn't get there" I just felt like it was crashing in wave patterns, it would swell and then fall again, it worked for me.
