hey guys in today's video we're checking up on the cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are you excited [Music] that's the spirit so let's start with the title character Charlie Bucket who was played by English actor Freddie Highmore he's now a fully grown man and no weird surprises here he looks like an older version of himself still adorable so what's he been up to all these years whoa he was growing as an actor playing in several movies in series a special mention goes to his role as young psychopath Norman Bates in the series Bates Motel and since 2017 he stars as dr. Shawn Murphy on the good doctor I've also read some reviews of the show and people are very enthusiastic about his performance he also got nominated for a Golden Globe for this now you might know that Freddy isn't the first actor who played Charlie Bucket first was Peter Ostrom and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory from 1971 check out the comparison they looks completely different for you he's really won't next we have the founder of the Chocolate Empire Willy Wonka of course in this role huge movie star Johnny Depp yes he also has changed a lot in these 15 years but honestly who wouldn't it's a long time and as you may have heard Johnny has had some problems in his personal life lately we are not gonna comment on this I'll just say good luck okay then let's move along as for work he starred in dozens of great roles since then probably most remember it is that of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders to stay brave in the sea hey this bloody line where I'm gonna kill them in a more recent one of Grindelwald and fantastic priests now check out willy wonka from the 70s who was portrayed by the amazing actor Gene Wilder his role has also become iconic and loved by fans to this day and one interesting fact Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore met for the first time one year before filming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory it was on the set of the movie Finding Neverland furthermore Johnny was so impressed with Freddie's performance that he recommended him for the role of Charlie to the director Tim Burton don't know what to say the rest is history now German after Philip Wagner he played augustus Gloop a child obsessed with food and the first person to find a golden ticket so as you see he's the one who's changed the most he had long hair for a while and lost some weight he's really unrecognizable Wow what's interesting in the movie he was wearing a prosthetic belly so in fact he wasn't bad obese in a comparison with the first Augustus also played by a German actor named Michael Bulmer they looked very similar so what happened with Philip well he graduated from the University of Magdeburg in Germany with a major in informatics he now lives and works there as a software development engineer and one more thing we know for fun he's doing this extreme obstacle run where they're cowling in the mud seems cool just bet couple then we have Jordan Frye who played the fourth golden ticket winner Mike teavee hmm looks great I see he hasn't changed that much though he's still recognizable at least without a beard he also had long hair for a while so he looked more unlike his old self and the comparison with old Mike played by Paris feminine fun fact and the old version Mike teavee was an avid TV addict and Mike do you think I might shut that thing off are you crazy and then the newer one he was a gamer as for work Jordan was in a few movies since Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but he doesn't act much these days he has one film and post-production called big life I don't know how big the role is though mr. Wonka next annasophia robb who played violet ambitious and competitive gum chewer she looks different for sure but mostly because of a new haircut and check her out with long hair pretty girl also smart in 2018 she graduated from New York University she majored in the intersection of philosophy ethics and drama sounds smart she's just a driven young woman I don't know where she gets it so Anna Sophia didn't work that much in time of study but still she managed to appear in a few TV series like Mercy Street the app and the movie down on dark hill and here she is with her boyfriend cute now check out Denise Nickerson who played Violet Beauregarde in the old movie she also gets through the blueberry transformation happens every time they all become blueberry and fun fact anna sophia has trained for a month just for this one karate scene nice and our last golden ticket winner verrucas salt played by the Swedish actress Julia winter so these are her old pictures is julia living live off the grid of social media not much is really known about her since the film it's just weird only that she decided to quit acting and she lives in Sweden I also read that she graduated from University and she's now a medical doctor but this is not confirmed anyways the role of Veruca was her first and last one kind of bad as she had a lot of talent but if she is really a doctor that's even better for Humanity haha know what and here's a comparison with the old Veruca played by Julie gone cold now check out the rest of the cast with a nice song [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay guys that's all for this video Robin well done let us know if you want a venn and now video about some other great movie and for now goodbye [Music]
