Charges after group of boaters are caught dumping garbage cans in ocean

out to the investigation following that video of boers in Florida seen apparently dumping bins of trash into the ocean leaving behind a trail of garbage the state's Wildlife Commission now charging two juveniles with felonies ABC's a aachi is here with more and Ike so many outraged about this that's right good morning with authorities have announced charges against two teenage males in this incident after the suspects turned themselves into police now the pair could face years in jail this morning two teams have turned themselves into police after they were caught dumping trash into the Atlantic Ocean police charging the underage males with a third degree felony punishable with a fine up to $50,000 or a five-year prison sentence I'm not so sure those kids knew that they were going to be on video and they're paying the price for being on video now Florida Fish and Wildlife says the group of miners left an event called bab bash a party spot off boa Ron Florida on a boat leaving the inlet during large swells just watch as the miners are seen emptying two garbage cans full of trash into the ocean seen here apparently celebrating before heading back to the party Florida Fish and Wildlife releasing a statement writing callous disregard for Florida's environment will not be tolerated this is a teaching moment for all those involved one of the teams on board who was in charged speaking with our affiliate WPLG saying saying he was in front of the boat when the incident occurred but didn't see it happen at the time I completely disagree I do not think that that should have been the choice he made but it's what happened and I do feel a little remorse for him but I also feel like he deserves whatever happened because he made a really bad decision drone video capturing the debris floating on top of the water experts say the consequences for throwing garbage into the ocean can have long lasting effects trash is going to end up on a wreath it's going to end up on a beach can end up in somebody's backyard that lives on the water so we're taking it very seriously now the family of one of the teens charge released a statement apologizing to everyone impacted by the incident going on to say that this is a teachable moment calling for their son to participate in community service guys yeah a lot of outrage for good reason all right I thank you so much
