Choose the right location to build the best kiln The position of ceramics chimney position Take steps to facilitate travel Location of the fire Treat soil so that it is loose and sticky to use as a chimney construction material Build a chimney. Chimney height depends on the desired temperature needs. To succeed in firing pottery, I need to build a chimney at least 2m-3m high with a temperature of 800-1200 degrees Celsius. The goal is to slowly reduce the temperature in the kiln, so that the ceramic does not suffer from thermal shock After 24 hours of incubation The first cup is successfully heated Unfortunately, a pot has a crack The result is not bad, right An intact pot, without any cracks This pot has cracks. I can do this (or the modern equivalent) with clay I find. Though to the best I’ve seen, all of the clay in my area is super red (Maui). For me the trick is finding clumps that nature has already made for ya. Notice at the beginning he was bein pretty particular about which clumps he was grabbing. Vs later when building the kiln he was using yellow clay that he previously discarded for the pots. This was a badass video, thanks for sharing 🤙🏼
