it's Chinese New Year and things get a little crazy but before we get to the celebrations let's go eat I don't know if you've noticed but when I'm making food videos I do like to try and show you guys something different or even something I've never tried before and today I've got another one of them it's actually Chinese New Year today not for you guys but for when I'm filming so it's incredibly busy it's a holiday but we're going to go and eat something called Pac more and I've never had this before they're like well instead me describing let me go and show you so this is the station where they're being made so essentially this is a little wrapped dumpling with different fillings inside I think it's rice flour maybe it's tapioca flour but it's made very thinly almost like a little pancake or a little wrapper say and then the stuffing is put inside and it's wrapped around it and of course you can eat them as dumplings but the unique thing here or at least that I've seen is they put them in soups like a noodle soup so we're definitely going to try one of them today but let me show you how they're made okay so she gets the flour batter and puts it onto this little cloth which is set over a steamer lid goes on to steam the wrapper and then in goes the filling this looks like it's carrot then she with the spatula wraps it over into that shape like a shell I guess and then places it onto the tray it's pretty cool and they come in all sorts of different fillings including pork so it's not just vegetables but I love this proper workstation going everyone's got their own job all right finally let's actually order and the menu is totally en tire but don't worry there are photos attached so you can kind of see what you're doing and the staff do speak a little bit of English not a huge amount but enough to kind of guide you in the right direction and as a bonus you're watching this video so you're going to know anyway don't worry about it not being inad there's always Google translate with the photo option that works really well that's normally what I do and to be honest I'm probably just going to order from the photos from above now I saw the prawns on the side I just show you them here these look so good waiting to be prepared this dish looks very cool and this dish so actually we're probably going to go for these three tomyam Pac more and the well wait for this one and then we'll go for the ponge as well so I just want to try them they look very nice Pac tomyam py this one this one okay so spicy uh try cup uh yeah pork Mo and P okay that's the prom one okay and then I would like to try what is this called P Tom the middle one the one in the bamboo okay what is what is the name yeah three orders [Applause] Batman just look at this one guys it's landed on the table still smoking from that bamboo low and food of course is about taste but it's also about Aesthetics too and I well I think it looks cool and come on we have to try it when you see something like that you have to try it and the restaurant is legit it's not one of those like tacky restaurants that does stuff like this so well it's packed with seafood all of the food has arrived so let me give you a very quick guided tour but also the rain has arrived again following me anyway tomyam tomyam soup and I asked them to make it spicy for me but it looks pretty good you can see how much chili oil is just sat on top there love it also got dried chili in there too got to pack more different types of pack more you've got these little pork dumplings or pork bowls sorry got sausage and you got a lot as well as Chinese greens and when I first had this I expected there to be noodles so I was digging around but the pack more because of those like rice noodle consistency they are your noodles that's why it's a pretty unique dish and I just wanted to show you this one next up Pac more go and it's the pacm wrapped around pretty big shrimp and they've left the tail on which is pretty cool because you can pick it up by the tail how delicious and appetizing does that look and then I guess it's just pure meat underneath it comes with Nam Jim Seafood but the star of the show at least visually is this tomyum that comes in the bamboo steaming bamboo smoking bamboo let's say and it's tomyam Seafood absolutely packed with fish sausage prawns Pac more muscle fish bows and actually I think there is I think there is some pork under meat and this one is dry obviously no soup right guys as ever let's stop talking about it and let's dig in my first food of the day I'm starving I'm going to start with this well the most visually striking one on the bamboo logs I think the soup will stay warm whereas this one is cooling down all the time because it's dry but it's just absolutely packed with meat and seafood all covered in that tomyam sauce but man I didn't expect there to be so much in here it's 120 bar but for what you're getting the sauce is good for that Tom yam but for what you're getting there is so much in [Music] here oh man that tomyum sauce is everything you want it to be it's spicy it's sour it's sweet all perfectly IM balance and it is spicy it's giving me a nice kick but with the sweetness of that muscle as in the seafood sweetness oh man it's good and the more you dig the more you find large bronze I know we've got bronze as well but not in the Tom yam sauce I tell you what that Seafood is cooked perfectly not overcooked at all so easy to overcook Seafood we're here to try pack more so the rest can be good but to pack more isn't I'm not sure what's in this but you can see how delicate it is looks like I mean it's as delicate as dim summer you can see through it got the carrot one as I said the majority are vegetables but they do give pork as well because that Raz rapper is steamed it's so delicate and it just it just melts in your mouth for 120 bus I think that dish is almost a must pretty damn good value for the amount you get you could share it with two or three people if you're ordering the soups as well and it seems to be the dish that everyone orders in here along with everyone else and let's not knock the spectacle big part of it too great dish anyway next up let's try the prawn pacm more Pac prawn pacm as I said it comes with Nam Jim Seafood to dip in and a little bit of [Applause] ah you see the surprise in my face that wasn't a car crash or thunder it's Chinese New Year and everyone is setting off these crackers anyway apologies for that Interruption it was just it was my surprise as I realized the little crunchy bits are not chopped peanut it's actually I think it's yeah it's still gives the texture but way better flavor into the Nam Jim Seafood Dip into fried garlic how good does that look there only one place that needs to go fat juicy prawn I mean they're pretty big not bad not a bad size but fat juicy prawn which I think has been they just steamed them or Dro them in the water very very briefly the Nam Jim Seafood is nice and tart like you can taste the lime juice in there little spicy little bit of a kick works very nicely and then just get that savory flavor of the fried garlic but together the light wrapper the juicy sweet prawn and then that s and Nam Jim sea food pretty good combo 75 bucks for five prawns and think the skill that goes into making that as well you know if I tried to make it it wouldn't be looking like that would it okay like the one in the bamboo this one is absolutely packed with meat and pack more and pork BS and pack Bo or Morning Glory absolutely packed with it again fantastic value 70 bar this time I've gone for the bigger portion and you get three or four pack more in there as well looks like this one the first one I mean can you guess what that is I told you you could see through it just look at that which one is that sweet corn let's try that and the soup oh man it's not often that I don't need to add any of the condiments normally I'm adding the pram s or the PM something the chili flakes or the chili vinegar adding something to add more sourness or to add more spice this one and I I'm just trying to think has it happened this one is perfectly balanced sweet sour spicy it just doesn't it just doesn't need anything but because there is so much meat in there it has that richness and meatiness it's a very very good Tom yam and then with those pack more instead of the noodles it's just it's interesting new things new flavors new textures and hey I'm clearly not the only one who thinks so this place that hasn't been well I've been fapping around for well over an hour and there hasn't been a spare table since everyone is out to eat at this place thank you cpcn capup bye-bye bye-bye bye-bye okay guys 200 65 bucks which I think is an absolute bargain so delicious I did say it's Chinese New Year today if the rain holds off fingers crossed I'll show you some of that later tonight let's see what happens okay guys the rain has stopped thank God and I've come out to see what the celebrations are going to be I don't really know what to expect to be honest but I've come to well what I was told was the main place the official celebrations crackers and fireworks have been going off all day so it'll be interesting to see what it is tonight let's just have a look around soak up the atmosphere
