our relationships with the father figures in our lives can bring us great joy or tremendous pain we all need healing and grace that only a perfect heavenly father can give us today we are leaning into his arms to find restoration and hope join us i know for me i we went through if you've been a christian more than two hours uh you'll have some church hurt you'll have some christian hurt you'll have some human hurt really um so we all get the invitation of weeding the garden of our hearts uh keeping it the weeds grow if you've ever had a garden you can you can pull them out in the very next day there's just more so um forgiveness and healing is a continued process it's not a one-time thing and i know for me um years back it was a really difficult season as a bunch of people left our ministry and what we were doing and you know we're going to plant another church somewhere else and um it was heartbreaking and so i had to walk through this healing and it wasn't anything that they had done that was wrong it was just difficult and i remember just giving my heart to the father and just speaking um his words of life as only he can do so a lot of times you know no matter what we do in life even with good people there's just painful experiences so i just want to ask you guys um what are things that you walk through with the lord through painful situations where he's helped to heal your heart it's so important what you do after you you're hurt it's so important those those those minutes right after you're hurt is so important and and you said it i think the answer is always going to the father um not denying that you're hurt not trying to act like it didn't happen not trying to act like you don't care um uh because we're all going to experience hurt for the rest of our lives um because we live in a fallen world and we are all flawed and we make mistakes and for me going to the father crying out to him about being hurt um disappointed i don't know for me i don't know about you ladies but he always shows me his perspective you know what i'm saying and you never know i mean we all are familiar with the saying hurt people hurt people right you know and then because god sees all we only see a part of it we only see a part of it and so um for me when i cry out to him he he brings healing he he gives me the strength to forgive he reminds me that if i don't forgive he won't forgive me that always works [Laughter] wake up if you can't forgive you're not gonna receive it it's like okay god i freak him um but also like you said it's it's not about your feelings as much as choosing to say yes lord i forgive and and i release it to you i trust you yes in the matter and we've talked about trust we've talked about protection and i think you always have to turn to the father and cry out to him because he's going to minister healing and he's going to give you the strength that you need to forgive and we have to remember again you don't always feel it right away you don't feel the goosebumps you don't rejoice but you do it out of obedience and when you do that i believe god begins the restoration in your heart and you begin to walk it out and before you know it that heaviness is lifted and not only have you said it but now you it's in your heart hmm beautiful you know i love that we started these conversations when we're talking about fathers and father god and and i was able to share how god said when you're abandoned by your natural father you're completely adopted by me i also got to have this moment with my father right before he died so a year before my father died i took my oldest son my firstborn grandchild and my beautiful daughter-in-law and we all went to see my dad and i had to go with other people because my father was confused by who i was he was not sure if i was an ex-wife or if i was his girlfriend so there had become this kind of a dangerous dynamic but my oldest son had said to me mom i'll go with you to see your dad because i've always believed that when grandfather sees the father the father i've become and the man i've grown into that he's gonna get saved and i said oh you are coming like you have more faith than i do you are i'm bringing you with me and so we're in this alcohol-related dementia center and my dad is kind of confused when we come in who we are i've got pictures spread out on the table and my dad picks up this photo and it's he and addison when addison was two and my dad was probably 50. and my dad points to himself in the picture and the point so i said that's you that's right then he points to the two-year-old boy and points to my grown man and i said that's him he's all grown up and i heard i thought to myself he's here he's here right now he knows who we are what do i say to this man who is on the threshold of eternity wow and i heard something i did not even want to say or believe i heard tell him he was a good dad wow i thought no he was not a good dad he didn't read books on how to be a good dad he wasn't friends with the good dads i am not telling him he is a good dad but i don't know if god does this with you guys gotta put something on the table and he doesn't take it back because i argue with him right and so so i said okay so i take my dad's hands and i i hold it up so i have his attention i looked him in the eyes and i said dad you were a good dad that 100 sicilian man began to shake and weep it was though a thousand volts of electricity came through his body and he began to say the only two words he said the entire time i was there he said thank you and when he said that my son got up put his hands on my dad's shoulders and said we cancel his debts he owes us nothing we pray him out of a kingdom of darkness into a kingdom of life and in that moment my father was born again because i actually heard in my spirit he was as good as he knew how to be and we have to understand that we know better like the five of us we know better but that doesn't mean our dads knew better that doesn't mean that people were having a hard time forgiving know better that's right but the power of forgiveness for the last year that my dad was on that alcohol-related dementia center every time he saw a social worker he kissed the back of her hands which was a sign to me because when he said thank you to me he kissed the back of my hands i don't know who is out there listening to this conversation all week and they're saying but i don't have a dad like jen and i don't have a dad like hosanna and i don't have cece's dad who's hilarious but doesn't mow the lawn and i don't have tasha's dad who told her to always bring everything to the feet of jesus i don't know what you are might be excusing or exempting yourself from this promise but i'm going to tell you this right now god is in the process of turning hearts children to the fathers and fathers to the children so powerful yeah because we don't see everything god sees and so for you to be obedient in that moment and speak those words and you know what's so beautiful my last uh living uncle died a couple months ago and my aunt showed me sent me these photos of my father when he was a little boy and i remember there was a moment cece when i was praying for my dad that god said i knew your father when he was a frightened son of refugees i knew your father when his dad died when he was 10. i knew your father before he was your father i love your father and and and there was this moment where i saw this image and when i opened up the envelope i pulled out a photo and it was the exact image i had seen when i was praying and i'd never seen that photo and i think sometimes we only see our fathers in our interaction and we don't see them through the pain and the hardship wow yeah so so powerful yeah and this is why healing is so important for all of us who are still carrying within us some hurt from things that happen to us that shouldn't have happened to us the hurt from hearing words that we never should have heard spoken over us this is why it's so important that we bring that to god and allow him to heal it the word of god says let us throw aside every weight especially the sin that so easily entangles us so that we can run with endurance the race set before us but we cannot run with endurance the race that before us and live the callings live out the callings that god has given us if we don't throw aside the extra weight that is weighing us down come on i remember there was a time in my my family with me and my husband in our ministry where we had opportunities we had good community we had good vision and i realized that we were limited by my emotional capacity because i was carrying alongside of me too much weight from wounds i never allowed to be healed from conversations i never wanted to go back to from things i had not surrendered to god because i felt maybe i was entitled to this bitterness oh boy and i realized wow it is because it is not because of any other thing god wants to do more in us god wants to do more through us but it is because i am choosing to hold on to weight wow it is why we are not able to run the race up before us and i want to encourage anyone watching maybe that's you there was hurt that was done to you that was not right words that were set over you that you were never meant to hear but maybe for you it's time to let go of the weight that's holding you down so that you can run with endurance the race that god has set before you i was um i was reading the scripture that says all things work together for the good of to those who love god and who are called according to his purpose and i went back and i was reading that scripture in one translation i can't remember the translation but it says in all things god works together and god gave me this revelation because my thought originally about that scripture was you know if this is happening to me then its original intent was for my good but god said no i took the things that were intended to hurt you they were intended to bring you pain and i worked them it's a good time for your good wow it's like he's the middle man standing in the gap yeah and my thought about that is that everything that happens to us even in the story that lisa was sharing a beautiful story god didn't take that moment for you to focus on what your father did yeah he took that moment to say okay this is your opportunity for me to do something in you this is my your opportunity for me to do something for you to reveal a miracle that you've been waiting for for so many years i think about the story even the story of david and saul come on like there were so many times that saul hurt him so many times he tried to kill him and god never said i want you to focus on what he's doing to you i mean there were moments where david had an opportunity to kill him and god said steady your hand those were the seasons of preparation for him to be the king that he was called to be it wasn't about what someone was doing to him but what god was doing in him the things that happened to us god is taking it and he's working them for our good so you ask the question what do we do in those moments of pain i'm learning i'm 40 now i'm learning now that it's not so much about what somebody did to me but what god is doing through me through this situation so my question when i'm when i'm hurting and and you're not denying the hurt like cece said you're not denying the fact that it hurt but my question now is god what do you want me to learn in this situation what about me do i need to see through this situation so that's that's my answer to that question that now my perspective has changed that this might have happened to me but god is using it and he's working it for my good work so good and i love what you shared cece about it's our perspective i'm so thankful for the body of christ because in one of the most brutal times in my life where i was so angry with people i literally wanted to burn their houses down um i'd love to tell you i'm not lying but i was real mad and scary and um i was working through a lot of anger and um i had done everything i knew to do to i was a christian for like 30 something years at the time you know i'd just done everything and um i love the kindness of god to heal us and bring other brothers and sisters in with this the power of the word of the lord over our lives and i was in the back of a room kind of minding my own business and just really wrestling with some anger and pain and this ninja of a woman came over and put her hands on me and just simply said can i pray for you and um as she did i said yes and um you know she just said this simple thing and i think this is an invitation for everyone watching today she sent a simple question uh from the lord she said i want you to ask the holy spirit what lies you have been believing wow i'd been a christian my whole life i'd read the bible multiple times you know and i'd never thought to ask the holy spirit what lies have i been believing and part of my healing came from the holy spirit revealing those lies and instantly in that moment i heard that you haven't loved well you haven't led well because if you did no one would ever leave you wow it's a lifeline and i didn't realize it but those were the lies i was believing i believe that was true and even though i wasn't a perfect leader no one is um those were the lies that the holy spirit had to weed out of the garden of my heart and and she said okay thank you holy spirit for revealing that now show her a picture of the truth and instantly i saw a picture of the prodigal son story when the sun ran away the father didn't chase after him he let him go it wasn't about the he just let him go and um the holy spirit spoke to me that sometimes even in family to love them well means you let him go wow and it changed my life those weeds of anger and bitterness were pulled out um it was a journey even after that of healing and um two of my other spiritual moms julie meyer who's a worship leader and stacy campbell uh i was just talking with them even how do i i got so much freedom in that encounter but how do i take that healing to the next level and um they said to me something powerful speak in tongues which i i speak in tongues you know i think that spiritual gift is for everyone as the bible says but sometimes the trauma of pain can be so intense in our mind that we don't need to use our brains to work through it we need to speak in tongues and they did a study about speaking in tongues where they studied the brain waves of people praying and there was no brain activity with the person speaking in tongues why it's a spirit-to-spirit takeover he knows what needs to be prayed and said in those moments so i'm just so thankful for the holy spirit in our lives to to speak to us and to heal us man it's like we're trying to live a supernatural lifestyle in the natural it's impossible yeah you know and and we have to understand like you said there's things that we will never understand in the natural that the spirit understands and the spirit knows there's things that god will take out of your heart and put in your heart while you're praying while you're speaking in tongues it's it's amazing what he will do you know it is so powerful living by the spirit it's so important that we're led by the spirit you know no matter what you're going through because the spirit knows all things the holy spirit does not have to guess about anything right right you know we don't we know in part and we will always know in part and so when you lean into the holy spirit jen like you said i'm sorry he begins to work those things like tasha said he works those things out for your good and it's like you don't i don't know how he did it you know but when i look back over my most painful situations i always come out better on the other end now i'm not somewhere praying for pain you know i'm not saying lord take me through another trial i'm not praying it finds you yeah it finds you but it finds you life life it's life comes challenges yeah but it goes back to trusting god and understand that he's for your good and he will work it out if you submit to do it his way come on and we have to understand we got to stop trying to handle using all these carnal weapons they don't work they don't work you got to go into if we're going to be people of the word we have to be people of the word that's true we have to walk by faith and not by sight we have to do it god's way and every time i know for me every time a thought that comes that's that you know it's not god you got to cast it out yeah yes father god i thank you i have forgiven that person you might not feel it you might have tears there's been times when tears was coming down my face and it's like lord i thank you that my heart is pure before you i thank you you have to call those things that aren't as though they were that's if you really want to be healed mm-hmm yeah you know but when you do it the enemy's way he's not trying to heal you and that's why the bible says vengeance is mine saith the lord because you don't know everything he knows everything and god is the only person that has a pure heart he he wants he wants what's best for all of us you know what i'm saying and so we have to trust him and release people like you that was such a good good analogy about the prodigal son let them go because then you receive your healing so true yeah and that's when you're exercising yeah because it my husband always says two things where it says in i think it's a paul's talking he says i always exercise myself to have a conscious free of offense with god and man because sometimes you get mad at god like god why would you let this happen god and man and how we exercise is we bless those that curse us we pray for them what we wish we would have somebody pray for us we we create an atmosphere of goodness because it's the goodness and the kindness of god that leads us to repentance so we're not going to surround them with badness we're going to start on there with goodness and john always says if you can't forgive other people it's because you have forgotten what you've been forgiven of you know it says it talks about who right away looks under the mirror of god and then turns away and forgets what type of man thinking oh i'm a righteous person i didn't need any forgiveness like we forget if we are uh a reader and not a doer that's if we are a tweeter and not a doer if we are a poster and not doer we've got to be doers of the words which is hard it means we do more not less that's right you know and i don't know for me that's where i i build my spiritual muscles by praying in the holy ghost because it says that builds up our most holy face but also doing good to people i wanted to smack that is actually where i get strong so i've never said burn down their house before but i don't know i know that's a gen johnson that's a whole other level no i love that i think it's so powerful to remember how we were forgiven so important to remember who we were yes before we found jesus because for many of us it's good news that jesus has redeemed the broken that jesus invites the outcasts we love knowing that we're invited when we realize that we're the ones who are far from god that needed a way back to god we love being invited but it becomes bad news to us when we realize how inviting god is and how all those people we can't stand he wants to know them too he loves them too he wants to invite them too and here we are thinking man i really like the exception and when it was me but i actually wish there was a better bouncer at the door of this christian club making sure that we have perfect utopian communities that are always having the conversations that i prefer and we we really need to realize that jesus is at the door opening it wide and letting everybody in and saying i want everyone to know how loved they are and how welcome they are don't stop the door that you were invited into don't slam the door shut that you were that was open wide for you to know healing like cece said that her people hurt people healed people healed people invited people we invite people and so when we remember that it was us that needed jesus we remember jesus is at the door open it wide he's saying come on everybody and we want to be there with him saying you can come in too we're all invited so good i believe that one of the influences our fathers have on us just the title father is that they have the ability to affirm us before we go out into the earth go out into the world and we grow up and we you know go into our careers our fathers have told us who we are and so a lot of times you find a lot of daughters who fall into these you know these cycles of life it may have been that someone didn't tell them you're beautiful you know you are loved you are special you're unique and that's beautiful about you when i read the word of god the word of god is telling me you're beautiful you are loved you are the apple of my eye i think the world of you you know so that's what the heavenly father my heavenly father relationship is about when i pull out the word of god he's talking me up you know he's big he's telling me tasha you're a boss i made you all that you are you you know these things are they're just not just happening in your life this is how i've designed it for you you know so that that's my my relationship i never go to him and he tells me i'm i'm disappointed in you you know i i i'm not pleased with what you got is his arms are always open just like the prodigal son his arms are always open even when i'm telling myself that wasn't good you know you could have done better that was terrible god is always saying man i loved your heart of worship today he doesn't care if i cracked up you know my voice didn't sound he's i loved your heart of worship towards me today you know so that's that's my that's my relationship with my father so beautiful powerful all right well we're gonna pray and i just if there's an area in your life right now that you are needing healing uh let's just pray for that right now i know in all of us we're working through things um and that it's just a constant tending of the garden of our heart so um jesus we just give you our whole lives our hearts our emotions our bodies we surrender our lives to you yet again today lord we say search us and know us see if there's anything going on in us that you need to remove or work with us to to get through father and i pray for a supernatural wonder working power emotionally physically and spiritually right now maybe people need healing physically we release that we say by your stripes that we are healed and we just we plead the blood of jesus over every body right now and even broken hearts lord we thank you that you are the comforter holy spirit that you are there for us to heal us and to be with us through anything so right now anywhere that there's brokenness we ask you to come and heal like only you can do we thank you that you are the healer so we just bless you in jesus name right now with anything you're going through to be healed and whole right now thank you lord we love you with all of our hearts you are so wonderful in all your ways and we love you as our father you are so good in the mighty name of jesus amen amen at tbn our mission is to use
