hey welcome back to two minute how to just got done installing these two windows you see right here behind me i'm going to show you how to do the caulking around the window seal let's get to the video okay so one of the keys to a good caulking job is going to be a wet sponge okay i've already i've already got my sponge wet got a couple of them and i'm gonna wipe down any dust or debris that's in my caulk zone clean that window seal up [Music] window frame needs to be painted but we'll do that after we get the caulking done and get the windows finished up so i'm using the dynaflex white depth for window and door siding and trim it's good for interior or exterior it's 100 waterproof seals joints up to two inches wide two hour paint ready ideal for wood composite dvc trim basically it's really good for windows one of the things i like to do is i like to cut my tips on a 45 degree angle and i don't cut the tips very much just a little bit and i only apply exactly what i need [Music] what a lot of people do wrong is when you run your finger down it they push down really hard what you want to do is push down really light okay just a little bit [Music] right here i didn't quite put enough in [Music] okay that looks nice and smooth going along there and we'll hit this side [Music] so [Music] okay let me come back and fill in just a little bit right there [Music] [Music] so that's it for doing the caulking around the window it's not that hard a couple tricks definitely don't want to cut your tip too big the second thing is after you spread your caulking and you're going to rub your finger on it don't push your finger down too hard it's going to make the caulking ooze up around the edges and make for a crappy looking caulk line the other thing is a wet sponge always have a wet sponge or a wet rag around wipe your finger on you can use it to wipe over the caulking after it's done it makes the caulking look really really smooth some people just take a wet paper towel or a wet rag after you rub your finger on it and just go over real lightly it's going to make for a really nice looking job but those are my tips for caulking in a window pretty much applies to any kind of caulking or silicone it's all pretty much the same on a scale of one to five difficulty i'm gonna give this a one caulking is pretty easy to do just follow those tips and good luck thanks for watching we'll catch you on the next video
