Okay, there's a sign quite visible. Right there, no turn on red. No turn at all, not even with a stop and motors went right through the light. Okay, lights. Your honor, the car is in my name, but it's my son's vehicle. Oh, he was driving it? Yes. Alright. You want to talk to me young man? I happened to be driving that night. I just came from basketball practice I was dropping a friend off and the light was yellow. I just proceeded through. And, yeah, it got me pretty much. You drowned yourself out. You proceeded to and then you said I proceeded to... I proceeded through the light... [I didn't hear the...] Well.. [laughter] Which meant that it was something that you didn't want to say. Well I was going through the light. It was already yellow, and I just went through it and it happened to, like... You were going through it when it was yellow? Yeah, but then it... It looks, right in the video, so it's going... [But then it turned red on you, it sneaked up on you?] [Laughter] Yeah, guess so. We're gonna look at it again, okay? We're going to stop it when the light is red. We're going to see how fast the light sneaked up on you, okay? Alright. Lights, please? Inspector, Inspector ??? Stop it when it's red. Alright, the light is yellow Red. Okay. Now, he just gave you an extra five feet before you stopped it, okay? So there's the car. You see the car? [Yes] Hmm? So, it looks like maybe you were in a hurry or you were tired or something in... Where do you play basketball? I play at Hope High School. Yeah, and what year are you in? I'm going on my senior year. Yeah? So what do you plan to do when you get out? What are you looking at? Oh. You'll get in college, I hope. Yeah, college. So just a question of where you're going to go to college. Out of state, maybe Georgetown, apply there. Syracuse. And pretty much kind of want to get out of Rhode Island. Yeah, and you're being recruited by those schools? No, I'm not. Had a couple prep schools, but nothing too major. Well, at the end of the day... The College Diploma is the important thing. A lot of kids get distracted. You know? They go to school for sports. You know... If you're a Michael Jordan, that's great because you know you're going to go out, make a fortune, once you get out of college. You know, maybe you are, I don't know. I hope you are but... But if you're not in that league then you really got to go somewhere where you're going to get a good education. You know, because that's what that's what it's all about, you know? Well, you're still in high school. I'm not going to give you a... ...violation on this night. I'm going to give you a break on it. [Thank you, your honor.] If you promise me you go on to college. Yes, I do promise that. And second thing is you have to graduate. I'm going to check on you in four years, okay? I'm going to put my chief investigator, Inspector Kerrigan, out to make sure you graduate from college. [Thank you.] Actually, I go to school with, I believe your grandson. [You do what?] I go to school with your grandson. I believe, Brendon Caprio? You went to school with my grandson? I do go to school with him. Well, he's at Brown. No, he's at Hope. [Laughter] I have a grandson who's a sophomore at Brown, and I really don't have any grandchildren that go to Hope, right now. What's his name? His name is Brendon Caprio. Brendon Caprio. [Yeah. He tells me about you all the time to be honest.] [Laughter] Joe, who's Brendon Caprio? He's just lying to you, man. [Laughter] This is my brother. He doesn't know him either. [I know, I mean...] Brendon Caprio, and what do you say, he's my what, he's my son? Your grandson. My grandson? [Yeah.] Someone's keeping something from me. [Laughter] We're gonna have a family meeting tonight. [Laughter] [It's all good.] At any rate... Keep up your good work. Get some good grades. Go on and graduate. Make us proud. [Thank you.] Good luck to you. [Thanks] You've done a good job with your son.
