hello save today's video is a book review of Cafe Agra and intimate life of her mates tree wife by ami license I very kindly received this book from the publisher after I requested it which might be a lil bit cheeky but they sent it me so very kind thank you very much happily look how big it is it's massive it's such a big book I wanted this book for two reasons one it's a book on the Tudors any new book on the Tudors that comes out goes on my TBR the faster I can get my hands on it the better I'm number 2 it was by mu licence now the publisher ambling sent me Edward the fourth Elizabeth Woodville which I read review and my review is on my channel which I'll link up there and I really enjoyed that book and thanks that book I now explore other aspects of hair history before the cheaters which the Tudors was like always my starting point and I'd gone further and done the suffragettes and the Georgians and and all that different type of history but I just didn't do before the Tudors but thanks that book I found it fascinating and started researching a bit more and I'm really enjoying doing lots of research so I truly did that book and I wanted to read some more of her work I do own another book of hers actually but I'll get around to that a bit later on but well I knew this was coming out so excited to get my hands on it because I think Amy writes just so beautifully so I had to get my hands on it I like very much did and now me and the book are best friends over okay so this book is a full-length biography of Catherine of Aragon and when I say a full of Beauvais I mean a biography it actually starts with Catherine's of our Katharine of Aragon's mother Laura Isabella of Castile because there are certain similarities between Catherine and Isabella so we actually go back further in time to Isabella's birth and upbringing and all those types of things and the similarities between Isabella and Catherine throughout Catherine's whole life it goes from there to Catherine's birth her childhood her betrothal to them Prince Arthur her marriage Springs Arthur Widow heard and then her marriage to having the eighth and all that right it to her death it's a proper big book it's like five hundred pages I'm gonna be completely honest with you I adored this book and this is one of the best books on Tudor history ever this book it's a very rare book you don't get many biographies like this in such detail now I don't sound big-headed but when I read biographies on a certain wife of from the 8th I don't learn much very often because it's often the same thing just repeated again and again but I do still like to read it because I like to get that historians point of view on that specific woman it's nice to read people's different perspectives and different takes and when I came to this book I thought it would be a similar thing oh no any license gives us such specific detail it is incredible it's almost as if she was there we still have her point of view and her historic take on it as a historian but we also have the exquisite detail of for instance what Katherine was wearing or how much something cost we have what the weather was like on a certain day it honestly feels like a work of fiction that we have dives in to the world of Katherine of Aragon and we are a little like a bird resting higher shoulder and we follow her around for her entire life it is incredible this has been a new licenses baby for a long time and you can really tell him when I first started this book and I was like whoa this isn't insane I thought oh I'd love it if she did all the otherwise but then I was thinking has she done Carrigan because she just loves Katherine Varga I think everyone has a specific person in history in which you truly connect to and maybe for Amy that is Katherine and that's why she could see all this energy into this book and it might not be the same for the other wives which is a bit of shame because you don't get the rarity of this book you don't really get anywhere else the exquisite detail that she is gone into would have taken absolute years to perfect this book has probably got blood sweat and tears rolled into one this is not just rare that a valuable source of historic information aimée license has done all the hard work for you and she has gone and she's taken all the little nitty-gritty details which often people miss out because they don't have time for it or they don't want include it or they think he'll be boring you think if they do include it and Amy makes it fun and interesting and just like a work of fiction it doesn't read like nonfiction it's emotional and engaging and it was so addictive it was a proper page turn I found myself wanting to get home from work early so I could sit and read it and just I was up to like stupid am reading it I told it it was so addictive and I haven't had that in a nonfiction in quite a while I haven't stayed up til stupid o'clock for a nonfiction since I have no idea when but it didn't feel heavy like nonfiction it felt light and it was just phenomenal it's rare it's valuable it's so important now you might think right it's huge how on earth am I going to get through this I'm relatively new to the Tudor history or I'm raising you tube to British history how am I gonna get through it if if you're not keen on Catherine of Aragon or the Tudors then perhaps start somewhere else and then come to this later on but if you know your basics and think actually I'd quite like to learn an awful lot about Catherine over again from someone who is obviously very passionate about her then check this book out this book is suitable for everybody the language isn't difficult or complex there is a great historic political detail to really drag you down and give you a bit of a headache it's very understandable very engaging and it sits in this place for all and actually I've spoken same license I have to be honest she is one of the nicest historians I've ever spoken to honestly she's so nice and she was a teacher and that's probably why she writes the way she does it's it's very much one for all and it's not she's not excluding anybody here so if you're a beginner and you think well this sounds really interesting then going to check it out straightaway if like me you've read quite a lot and you think well I just want a new take on it read it you will not be disappointed you will adore it if you haven't guessed I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars it's the best non-fiction that I have read of 2017 big statement and yeah this is gonna be a hard book to beat say amazing and thank you Amy license for putting so much work into this it is a brilliant book and I can't wait to reread it after only enough when i when i read it i ended up speed reading threat and you might like one earth would you speed read through bite speed read through a paragraph just to kind of get the gist of it just because i really wanted to know all the specific little nitty-gritty details and then I'd go back and I've read it again so I've actually read this book twice over one speedy one just normal pace but yeah I can't wait to reread it in the future it was just incredible such a rare work of art it's magical I think everyone should read it so yeah job done can't recommend it enough so that's it that's my review of Katherine Aragon and intimate life of
