[Music] clap your hands all the way from Atlanta Georgia the Honorable elder Mark Moore jr. clap your hands and give him glory as he comes we can do better than that if you know that the blood still works which you open up your mouth come on I wish I had a blended church as you know that you're not here because you deserve it if you know that you're not here because you earned it but if you know that it's nothing that can wash away your sins nothing but the blood of Jesus come on give God a mighty shout one more time you're not loud enough resurrection I said give God a mighty shout one more time hallelujah to the name of the lord god bless you tonight and then you may be seated in the presence of the Lord certainly we do honor the Spirit of God that we feel in the world one tonight happen if you all can feel God in the atmosphere some other does that McNulty a man we honor him some trust in horses some trust in chariots but we will remember the name of the Lord for the name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run therein and they are saved and we honor him tonight just for allowing us to be here and David said I was glad when they said unto me that has to do one go into the house of the Lord but but my testimony tonight is I was glad when they said unto me let us go to resurrection Church of Los Angeles is it about a glad to be in this house one more time those of you that read your Bible you notice that God has an interesting habit of using angels to deliver special messages when when God looked down and saw that there was a message that might require some force behind it he said his warned angel Michael when he looked down and saw it was a message that might need a little bit more finesse he sent his messenger angel Gabriel but I believe that 11 years ago when the Lord looked down on the city of Los Angeles and saw that there were people that needed a leader there was a wilderness the voice he said an agent of his house in the person of Pastor Joel Robinson Andy the hunt church would you help me make some noise for the angel of this house the watchman crying on the wall the boys speaking in over come on y'all clap for folk you don't even like open your mouth but make some noise for your pastor would you help me celebrate him this is also also a man of God and honored honored to be connected in a stand in the pulpit that he provides ownership to and I just believe you cannot fully appreciate all that he is without celebrating the one that stands beside him in life and ministry can we please celebrate this amazing first lady come on help me give God praise for her y'all better clap y'all better clap y'all better clap y'all better clap than a man a man I was ahead you know everybody you better clap yeah I think first lady and say st. Louis was a are you from East st. Lou I thought see the prophetic is flowing tonight that testimony sounded like it had some East st. Louis on it I I got people from me saying I understand first lady he met everybody talks about how real their first lady is next time somebody says it i'ma tell them go to resurrection no you want to see a wonderful woman of God with an amazing testimony you're looking at her I'm so grateful to be here the hospitality has been so amazing can I just get a resurrection to celebrate all of the in-house gifts that make your church what it is every every every protocol worker every administrator y'all can clap better than that the musicians the choir everybody that's blessed us amen on a first-class ministry in every sense of the term I got in y'all put me on a nice flight put me in a nice hotel gave me good food and man hotel was nice had thick pillows and plush towels and it was so plush I had to really really push to get him in my suitcase but the Lord is faithful you hear me a man well there's a will there's a way but we're not going to hold you long did I grab your Bibles very quickly amen I've heard already that we've had such an amazing week of revival and I heard it from everybody that I interacted with from the moment I got picked up and got in the truck they were telling me how good last night was and the night before was they looked at me and said you better walk on water or I hope you can raise the day the same do magic tricks dance something because we we've been having church this week so I'm just going to give you what God gave me going to Colossians chapter 2 you're familiar with this I know we were blessed by our MC my friend and brother dr. Anthony PG thank God for you and so many other familiar faces I see from my yoc family dr. Grundy and bastard Johnson back there and a big brother dr. nissan's to bishop nissan stewart apostle nissan stewart Amen thank God for my friend and big brother Colossians chapter 2 I want to flow right in the vein of this revival that we've been in on tonight I plan to go another way but the Lord and rested my intention and so I want to I want to follow God is that Alright tonight risen I just wanna make sure it's alright but y'all I'm just gonna do it anyway but just need to make sure we're on the same page look at verse number 14 it's right here on your screen it says blotting out the handwriting of Ordinances that was against us which was contrary to us and took it out of the way nailing it to his cross I like the way the King James Version says it but I also like the way the New International Version says it it says having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness which stood against us and condemned us he has taken it away nailing it to the cross Father in the name of Jesus that saving name that healing name that delivering name that way making name that name that causes means to bow in tongues to confess the name that calls us knees to bow and demons to tremble Lord tonight on this Thursday night before we ask you for anything we thank you for everything for the day you've allowed us to see Lord we thank you for the gift of the Holy Ghost Lord we thank you for what this very week represents Lord we thank you we ask some God that you do something that as wonderful as our song was our song cannot do we ask that you do something that is wonderful as our dance is and this powerful is our gathering is alone we need something that coming together won't do by itself for God you know you see that there's somebody here and they look good they smile they shouted earlier they clapped they appear to have it together but they've got some god-sized needs in their life right now and God we're asking that you remind them that you are still gone and when things seem out of control you're still in control throw your weight around in the police have your way and and Satan since we know you're listening in a how because you're knows it we remind you that you're still defeated I said you're still defeated we said just still defeated you have no authority and you're trespassing in the lives of God's people and it's in Jesus thing that we pray every believers shout a man everybody that believes God's gonna do something shout a man all right I want to preach for just a few moments I said a moment ago I was going another direction and the Lord changed that direction and told me to go right here to the scripture that was on the flyer and I want to preach for just a few moments help me help me get it out and help me preach y'all got to help me tonight it's my first time at resurrection so don't look at me like I owe you money I don't even know you suddenly I had smiled all night fix that ain't nobody met but the devil and you get off his team now help me preach tonight and just just look at somebody and say neighbor there are some hangups with Holy Week talk about for a few minutes the hang-ups with Holy Week what what an amazing just extraordinary week this is going to be not just here at resurrection but throughout the Commonwealth of faith as we celebrate the very event that makes us who we are as Christians and certainly at a church like resurrection that bears the name in its very name we understand the significance of what this week represents then we also mature enough to know many of us that have been in church to church through church next to church for any length of time this is not sure first Easter you know that this weekend is gonna be fun might as well go ahead and tell the truth people across America right now on this Thursday night are getting ready some of them for their annual church appearance yeah you got some cousins and and some some folk you understand I know I know people getting ready for the annual appearance here appointments have been made we've installations have been scheduled eyebrows will be waxed drawn on plucked something y'all gonna come here Sunday and see folk got them edges laid down like they sleep y'all they go here I know this is a fashionable church I know I know y'all got some flat folk at resurrection but that's not everybody's testimony there are some red some orange some yellows some lime green suits hanging in plastic right now just waiting for early Sunday morning y'all might as well be relit here but but regardless of how entertaining the aesthetics of this weekend will be the reality is and I hope I get a witness here the reality is it's still sinners around the fact that as good as we look we should not look as good as we do I get some help in here somewhere as nice and as coordinated as your pieces are as together as you've got your wardrobe you get the car wash Saturday just to make sure you can show up to church on Easter Sunday together it's wonderful as this is the reality is we really don't deserve to look this good and that's that's really what the writer here in Colossians chapter 2 is talking about because he's dealing with and he's addressing these he's writing to a people he's writing to a church that are in an interesting place because they are that they're steeped in controversy at this time they've they embraced heresy they've they bought into a lot of fallacious doctrine they have begun to replace the importance and the significance of of what Jesus did with with their own ability and really but this is apropos for the time that we live in tonight because and I hope I get another witness here the reality is brothers and sisters we such a self-centered generation page full of selfish y'all I gonna say that we are a generation that is so stuck on what we can do and what we have built and what we now possess and and what we have accomplished that the reality is we have entered into a time where we have dismissed the necessity of God in our life you don't have to say man but it's it's right anyhow we have gotten caught up in it our own ability that that we look at Holy Week we look at the resurrection and while we celebrate we clap because we have to the reality is a lot of us if we would be honest tonight a lot of people in our circles have dismissed the necessity of the resurrection but just tell your neighbors saying if I'm glad he got up I'm glad I'm glad glad glad I got up everybody anybody know who I'm talking about you know don't look around because you might they might be sitting on your own just look at me and gonna be no problems but but anybody know people that just got too successful for God anybody so some of you you you grew up with people you you used to go to church with people you work with people that were faithful when they needed him yeah when they didn't have money they were on time and early for church for me what they didn't have a job they were in place pastor whatever you need me to do I just want to serve I just I just want to be used in the kingdom but but something happened when they begin to get the stuff they were praying for they that they got something from a God but loved them and then forgot about the god that gave them what they now have made God y'all even helping me in here I remember I remember storing a pastor of a man that went to his pastor and he said pastor I need you to pray with me because I need a job I'm unemployed I need a job and if God would give me a job he said pastor I promise you I'll be faithful I'll be a day that I'll be here in the house of the Lord if you just just pray that I get a job I'ma be the best member in the church pastor took him by the hand and prayed he said God give this man a job in Jesus name he said corn and apply goes and few weeks comes back he says pastor I got a job I'm making 500 hours a week he but if you would just pray again I could get a better job in and I promise you I'm gonna be faithful men's ministry you got it I'll be right there pastor you need you need help paintin and getting ready but Easter I'll be there just just just pray that I get this job pastor took his hand and said God give him a better job in Jesus name it goes and few weeks go by he comes back to the past and says pastor I'm doing good now got a new job I'm making a thousand dollars a week now I said but if you would just pray again think I'd get a better job and don't worry pastor I'm gonna be faithful I'ma be here you can you can count on me and pastor took him by the hand and prayed and said God give him a better job in Jesus name it goes and the tangles bind man comes back to Pastor and says well pastor I need you to pray with me I need you to pray he said you know I got another job and I'm making I'm making three thousand dollars a week down pasture making making $3,000 a week he said that's that's 144 thousand dollars a year I'm doing real well and he said I need you to pray because I didn't have a problem tavern when when I was making the five hundred hours a week I didn't I have an issue you know being here when I was I was making a thousand said the pastor you know tithe off of three thousand dollars a week that's that's that's a little bit more than what I'm comfortable with that's you know I we got services on Sunday and we got Bible study and the men's ministry they have meetings and you know I I just I need more freedom now I got money to travel praise the Lord and I don't know if I'm always be here and so I I just need you to pray that the Lord will understand if I just kind of cut back a little bit with my tithes and my offerings and my time and the pastor said that's no problem at all man let me take your hand let's pray he took his hand and said God bring him back down to five hundred dollars a week so he can be comfortable serving yeah some of y'all him because you had no problem serving God when you were struggling but but but now that God has blessed us we we forget about the importance of serving him but but this is where we are and this is what I want to preach if I'm not gonna preach long we gotta eat and I gotta get to the airport fly back to Atlanta be @b @b a Good Friday service in my church tomorrow night but but understand that this is the first hang-up that we see with Holy Week it's right here in verse number 12 I'm not gonna be long we can get out of here so you can go see your show before your show go off praise the Lord but but the first Kingdom is in verse number 12 where it shows us here it is that we have a role to play in our own salvation can I say that again make sure your neighbor hurt me to tell them say you have a role to play in your salvation I know I know we don't like this that's why it's a hang-up I understand this flies in the face of much of our of our modern technology and much of our butchering of what grace really is because if you look in verse number 12 it's right there which shows I said we have a role to play because it begins by saying having been buried with him in Baptism yeah now understand that the buried part and the risen part is his part yeah that the buried in Baptism and the and and the risen in the newness of life that's his part but it does not stop there because it then says in which you were also raised with him here it is through your faith in the working of God can I can I talk to somebody and tell you but that your faith has a role to play in your salvation I know I know I can feel something you're looking at these strains right now because we want to put everything on God we we want to put everything on him we have removed all personal responsibility out of our walk with Christ and so now people will tell you that anything that you do is discredited or discount it because that counts as works yeah you can't try to live hold it because that's works you you can't really try to even treat people right because that's works and you're not saved by works and God knows I thank God for that because there's not enough work you can do to save yourself you can't give away enough free rides you can't give away enough gas money you can't pass out enough turkeys at Thanksgiving to pay for your salvation and certainly it is nothing but not just the grace of God but the old Saints would say Amazing Grace yeah and I think God I think God for grace but what I gotta tell somebody is that obedience is not works oh god help me in here ah yeah obedience to what God said is not works in fact the Bible says when it talks about faith here but we also have to remember that faith without works is tan which which means that you have a role to play in working your faith you you brother sister man woman boy girl have a responsibility to do your part to walk in obedience to what God said didn't you hear the people say that you've gotta save yourself yawning here from this untoward generation just to just look at somebody real quick besides that I'm neighbor tell them Geneva you you got a bro to play tell him tell him tell him yeah tell them again say you have a role to play tell them God did his part but you got a role to play you you've got to walk in obedience to what God saying I wish I had some real funk in here he'll just be honest enough to say this in times when I got in trouble not because it was the devil y'all are gonna say that now not because it was a hater not because it was an enemy but there's some stuff I brought on myself because I was not old beep I wish I had a real Church in here on the Thursday night ha but but the first hang-up the first thing up here is that we have a role to play in our salvation you you've got to be responsible for walking in obedience to what God said I'm trying to move on to number 2 but I need to make sure you understand that you you are too old now yeah you are too mature now you are you are grown up you pay taxes now you you're too old to be still blaming everybody else for y'all they gonna be real over here I see all right you're too old to be blaming everybody else for the decisions that you make you you can't keep walking around talking about all me and adults not now baby you you're too old for that you at some point gotta understand if all bringing around his dogs what about me is blowing a whistle yeah yeah okay yeah didn't like that I move on I got more I got more I got more I got more you're too old to talk about the devil just wants to be broke and you're not disciplined enough to sit yourself down and write a budget out you you don't need a Fendi bag with food stats in it y'all they gonna say that you don't need a Land Rover and a landlord while you're quiet in here you gotta take some response I found somebody beside another neighbor you gotta take responsibility ah yeah that that's that's the first hang-up but I love y'all over there give me some more on this man I got a cold y'all doing a great job we got me out here you've got a role to play in your salvation that's that's the first hang-up that we don't like when it comes to Holy Week because we want to put everything on him and the fact that he died and so now because he died I can be reckless because he died I can be ratchet no you've got to walk in obedience but but I said Lord I said Lord notice I didn't have no iPad I didn't have no notebook I put these notes in my phone on the way here I was in the truck write notes down because the Lord was speaking to me I never preached out of this before so I know this is for resurrection and night the second thing that told me that's a hang-up for some of us listen to me now is that we often ignore listen but we are not exempt from the work of the cross let me let me let me come down count down your rope will you feedback real quick coming down you're wrong you've got to understand that you are not simcha from for what Guardian now when you look at verse number 13 we were in verse 12 a minute ago we're in verse 13 now verse 13 says listen to this it says when you weren't dead in your sins that's all I needed to read right there and I don't think y'all heard me I'm saying again I said again when when you were dead in your sins some of y'all still didn't get it I'll say it again I'll say it again because I think that when it comes down to the need for salvation he's talking about when the crackhead was dead in their sins and when and when the prostitute was dead in their sins and when when the drug dealer was dead in their sins but can I show you something right here in verse 13 it does not say any of that it simply says that when you weren't dead in yeah y'all got to help me preach you're doing a great job of it so far look at that name but like you not stared up we got security around ain't nobody gonna bother you look at them in there and tell them what the Bible says look at them and say when you were dead in your sins can I tell somebody but you cannot embrace the power of Colossians chapter number two without embracing the fact that it applies to you and your stuff here it is this stuff we know about and the stuff we don't I wish I could preach in here right now look at your neighbor and say neighbor tell him say I got some stuff that you know about tell them come on don't nobody same yeah I got some stuff I testified about once or twice but tell them say there's a whole nother set of stuff then you don't know nothing about because it's odd whoa I wish I could Ritz in here but for just a moment can I tell you that something is wrong when you get so caught up in you now yeah Suns wrong you know three verses that said got memorized now and you forget about where you were ten years ago so some of you you you got clothes and outfits for every Sunday but you forgot about how it used to be before I know your thoughts on the phone now but you remember you forgot there was a time when you start a my gonna help me in here I'll just say sanctified now but there was a time when you couldn't leave patron alone but is there anybody in here that's real and natural look at somebody and tell neighbor got some stuff in my yesterday - oh I was a head of real Church in here come on tell somebody else but there's some stuff in my yesterday there that there's some stuff that God brought me from there there's some stuff that God took out of my life and the reason you wanna praise God resurrection is because when we look at you for some of you you don't look like what you been I was like and recently searched tonight oh yeah okay Lord I'll tell them yeah yeah Elsa Madison neighbor you don't look like what's your been through but what I gotta tell you that something don't just lie right there because the truth is you're gonna go like this but the truth is some of y'all look just like what you've been through you look like somebody held the same mother did that battle scars to prove it did that wounds to prove it but even if you look like what's your cut from you want to sell because you don't look like where you going [Applause] I'm trying to find some real folk in here I'm trying to find some real folk in here let's just access some own a service I know y'all are dignified but I come from a little sanctified Church Nissan and we used to have something called testimony service yeah yeah I'm a loose some of y'all some of the new Saints that's what's that just a women I walked into it it's real easy you can get it one time around first of all every testimony had to start the same way first giving out of the gun who's the what the head of my lighter to Pastor cut this Mac up woman pastor firstly the other Saints and Friends just want to stand and testify of the goodness of the Lord now help me testify now let of the church right here sometimes we see you praising God and we know why you're sorry yeah but can I get some answers to look at somebody and say neighbor sometimes a public place is because of my give God praise rather leaves all him but the first hang up with Holy Week is that we oftentimes make mistake I'm failing to see that we have a role in it but the second hang up would hold a week is that we sometimes 40 but we are not exempt from the sacrifice but look at your neighbor and say all neighbor said I'm say there's one more hang up tonight let's hang up is this they gotta realize that just look at your neighbor and tell'em or neighbor tell him say Jesus to not slap the charges but tell him say neighbor he canceled the charges 14 says having canceled the charge a legal indebtedness still playing with me like I like I just got up y'all gonna do that no you were guilty I don't care what you did no matter what your sins were we had a sin problem by birth and he took that thing away and blotted it out scholars say that ancient documents were written on an animal hider certain papyrus and it was expensive to produce but but it did not have acid in it and so when they would write because the ink did not have acid and because the surface was expensive they didn't want to throw it away off of a mistake so what they could do is they had a special sponge Pasteur put a solution on it and they could wash the words off use it again and what talk did on the cross he didn't just crawl he didn't whiteout nothing no some y'all used to be kind on as you get through whiteout [Music] he
