i could only fit one in the bucket look at this beast that's a brian this is the story of delos a sailboat adventurizing around the world for the past 10 years and now we embark on our greatest adventure of all come join us as we take to the high seas and travel the world with the newest member of our crew if you enjoy delos videos please subscribe it's a great way to support our channel [Music] good morning sierra come on you have to look at the water sierra you have to look at how clear it is look at that you can see to the bottom it's like a swimming pool that's insane so calm today oh my gosh casa you have to come look outside it is so calm and clear it's like delos is floating like in a bathtub or a pool or it's crazy [Music] after a five-day sail we'd finally arrived in the ragged islands bahamas and so far we had an entire island all to ourselves i know can you see the anchor chain look at that that's insane all right so we're in this amazing amazing place before we came in here i took a look at uh google earth like we're located right here right now like in this area right here and i was thinking it would be cool if we just took the dinghy and like explored up the coast because right in here this caught my eye and it looks to be just like a little round blue hole of some kind i don't know what it is but it just looks like a cool day mission it'll probably be a really fun dingy ride and we can just zoom up the coast and go check it out sun is shining and it's our first like land bahamas exploring mission perfect timing look who's awake nugget hi sierra oh look at she's trying to escape from her jeez she's destroying her tent she's getting so strong come on i'll let you out it's okay come on we're gonna go on a mission we're gonna go check out a blue hole do you know what a blue hole is no we're gonna show your first blue hole in the bahamas yeah let's go the family's ready and we're all set to go on our first land mission in the bahamas bahamas exploration mission numero uno it's quite exciting let's go [Music] the ragged islands are one of the most remote island chains in the bahamas they're mostly uninhabited except for a small settlement of 30 people to our south called duncan town it's a place you really have to want to visit and when you do be prepared to be completely self-sufficient for your entire stay [Music] we have 0.37 miles [Music] [Music] all right nice beach huh real nice around here huh yeah it looks like an awesome place i think it's that way it's freaking amazing huh i know everywhere we go we have the entire beach to ourselves and it's so cool just walk around and explore it's really special it's amazing look at this just nothing i love walking along the beach finding different shells and different things to look at it's awesome you think you found a way yeah i think according to this .02 miles at a bearing of 41 degrees oh wow that's cool it's not like super blue no you want to go swimming i don't know what's lurking in there i don't know it doesn't look super clear no i don't know would you go swimming in there yeah yeah how deep do you think it is in there my guess is it's a great question 20 meters 15 meters 10 meters yeah i don't know i say 100. you say 100. wow how how far can that left side go i think this will go down to 50 meters okay it just looks gross gonna stick your head in there come out like glowing [Music] oh i don't like it no i don't know my [Music] feet [Music] you can only see like i couldn't really see past my knees i got a reading of 10 meters where i swam out yeah so i think it's about 10 meters deep there is some fishes in there yeah smogs i pictured like some crazy thing coming up from the bottom i know i'm just grabbing you but you can't see it's really gross it is salt water though okay did that don't have to do it again yeah i was really hoping it would be full of something or i could see the bottom or there'd be like full of lobsters or something like that but it's just so gross and dirty but what uh what now oh you want to go on like a dinghy cruise or something we'll just cruise along the shore and see if we can find something cool yeah sounds good a little lunch spot or something give me the baby okay as cruising sailors with the ability to move our house we find ourselves drawn to desolate remote places and with three months of provisions and fuel on board we're looking forward to exploring below the crystal clear waters just as much as the white sandy beaches above no other footprints but ours nope the only ones [Music] all right that's awesome huh look at it it's probably looking for food right now right there [Music] so it's quite exciting uh it's actually lobster season here now in the bahamas so brian has gone off with our neighbors to try to find some lobsters i'm so excited i really hope they find some how are you doing sarah [Music] yeah she agrees she'll probably like lobster too i think [Music] when we checked into the bahamas i was able to get a cruising permit for the boat which also gives us a fishing permit too which is pretty cool and it is in lobster season right now for like the next two months so that's pretty cool and some of the other rules they have is as a foreign person we are not allowed to use traps and we are not allowed to use spear guns here but we can use a pole spear and this pull screw is pretty cool it's got this elastic band right here it has this tip so you basically take your hand on it like this you pull it off stretch it like that and then you aim it if you let go [Music] i think there's another one down there [Music] okay doing all right today we got this guy nice one this guy but then i put my head in a cave and i saw this guy [Music] look at that lobster look at your grandson came around the corner and i saw him and i was like oh that's all we need for like three days of lobster wow it's definitely the biggest one i've ever got it's literally like the tail the tail is like from here to here yeah it was a productive morning yeah thanks for letting me go and watching the nugget yeah of course and it's been so long since we've been someplace where you can actually do this someplace where like the environment can support people harvesting you know living off the off the sea and that's just amazing jesus what a beast how much you think that tail weighs that is the biggest lobster tail i've ever seen look at that it's a big fella scale is it zero 700 and grams [Music] that's three quarters of a kilo that's a one and a half pound lobster tail that's uh 20 ounces is that a 20 ounce lobster tail hi guys thank you so much for watching this video and i just wanted to give everybody that supported our project over the years a huge shout out you guys are the ones that make it possible for us to continue making the videos without the influence and bias of corporate sponsors which means that we can make the videos that we like and we hope the videos that you like as well yeah so if you want to support the videos head to svdellos.com for slash beer and send us some beer love that's it thank you everybody thank you have an awesome day cheers morning beer so big do you see him yeah where is he okay so he's waiting he can smell the lobster probably last time uh i cleaned the lobster and i threw the scraps in off the back a gigantic turtle came up and like just so i've been cleaning the fish off the back look at that turtle you see him and so today i have a plan this is our toe behind the boat fishing camera yeah and so the gopro goes in here like this and so instead of towing it i'm gonna hang it off the back of the boat like this and then i'm gonna tie the lobster scraps to this line and see if i can get it to hang like under it you know yeah and then maybe we'll capture this beast coming in and grabbing it i think this is going to be very cool kazza yeah it's going to be super cool if we can capture this okay here we go oh wow that's a big shot it's a pretty good sized shark time for dinners she likes sitting there looking at us making dinner which is awesome okay does this one look good to you what is it lobster tail and coconut sauce [Music] okay we got two gigantic lobster tails and i'm just going to split them down the middle because we're gonna oil these it's super easy why do you spend this on the bills because there's a uh i'm gonna get this little vein out of here like that and then you can get this oh like a poo pooing yeah [Music] 410 grams my good guess whoa okay so the thing is one minute for every ounce and one ounce equals 28 grams i think so we gotta boil this bad boy for about 14 minutes one lobster tail two lobster tails so chopping onions is not that bad anymore because we have this little nifty machine crying at the movies is okay but crying cutting onions no way there's gotta be a better way i might have put a bit too much in it yeah you got over ambitious choppy onions baby well no barracuda and no turtles but those little fish they picked the entire insides clean which is good maybe we'll try again in the morning [Music] yes one kilo of lobster [Music] anytime you put lobster together with coconut milk and garlic and onion and ginger that's pretty much all the red all there is in there that's really good what do you taste all those ingredients all those five ingredients mainly lobster oh it's so good okay i'm gonna enjoy this goodnight guys i was just looking over the edge of the boat and there's a barracuda lurking right under us so i'm gonna try the old lobster cam again see if we can get him taking a bite here he comes here he comes [Music] wow larry he or she we're not actually sure which is a larger head turtle that had been swimming around delos the past few days snapping up our fish scraps loggerheads are one of the largest turtles in the ocean and can live to almost 70 years old with the body size approaching three feet wide and weighing up to 250 pounds they can get pretty massive they have gigantic heads and strong jaws and their diet consists of crabs conk and other hard shelled sea creatures they can easily crush a lobster head they travel thousands of miles to lay their eggs on the same beach they hatch from and nobody is really sure how they navigate or do it only about one in one thousand baby sea turtles survive to adulthood this coupled with loss of habitat and human predation has put them on the endangered species list as long as i moved slowly didn't make much noise and didn't get too close larry was very relaxed and even a bit curious it's a gigantic turtle he's so cool at his head it's like it's literally as big as your head like he could take your arm off he could definitely take a finger a hand off for sure so beautiful in here you should really come in yeah will you comment with me sure all right after months of planning preparation and many miles sailed we find ourselves in this magical spot we find ourselves at peace knowing that we are self-sufficient using the power of the sun and wind to sustain our little floating home and for the first time since being in the indian ocean we find healthy clear waters and abundance of food provided by the sea with no agenda or schedule we look forward to the days slipping into weeks and perhaps if our fuel and provisions hold out the weeks slipping into months up next on delos a midnight wind shift pushes delos into shallow waters bastion on the bottom and we continue our seafood eating extravaganza it's our week mark of only having food that we caught from this area right here got a nice conch [Music] hello [Music] sunscreen is so much fun sunscreen is going on when you have a child suddenly your life becomes a weird musical somebody loves broccoli do you love broccoli oh you want to eat the girl cup too not just baffling here come on show us show us show us how you eat show us
