CAT D9H Arrives

[Music] look out that dude's moving [Music] so so [Music] [Music] okay the niners here time to get her unloaded [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] so hmm so he said he was gross and 184 000 uh and that that combination right there weighs in at 75 000 so [Music] what would that be 100 and uh do the math jeff quick yeah 109 000 is what that cat weighs right around there so anyway that's not platinum associates so i guess what happened is platinum associates couldn't move it so they called that outfit anyway he's from salem oregon and the reason that he went all the way up that way is um that's where he lives that's where they're based out of is salem and he had a doctor's appointment anyway they couldn't come over i-80 because there's some kind of bridge restriction at truckee so he had to go all the way into oregon and then come uh over here on i-8486 so anyway i got this thing off the trailer bricks don't work for the hoot uh anyway i'm sure i got my work cut out for me here it's not a bad looking tractor um she's dirty she needs a little cleaning up for sure anyway hey there's the ac compressor at least i got that part and the bracket that goes on there oh and looking there this is a spacer plate motor i'll be darned it's new enough to be a spacer plate so anyway it looks like she's been sitting for a while and i'm missing that floor plate right there i do not know why that's gone that's weird anyway so like i said little carpet and some drapes we'll be good to go won't we i really don't care for that roof mounted ac unit i was hoping to put the cat one in he either didn't have it or it's been gutted out of here so i'm gonna have to find one it's got a red dot on it i really don't care for ice cold air blowing on top of my head jeff oh can't see anything out of it that's for sure she's dirty bird so anyway about 5 000 gallons of steam cleaner water oh it says warning seatbelt must be worn oh anyway i don't know i think the cat ac unit goes up in here so i'm gonna have to search the junkyards to find all that stuff and put it back in and then plug that hole anyway it's got a engine oh enclosure on this side only i'd like to find another one of those if i possibly can they make it fun to work on things in here but also keeps tree limbs and garbage out of there so the oil sample on it says it's got high silica uh which indicates an air leak somewhere so once we get her cleaned up uh that's the first order of businesses go after that see if i can figure out what's going on somebody told me to throw away this muffler should i put a straight pipe on her that is an expensive muffler but i don't really like how it blocks your view here but what are you going to do all you could do is put an upright one on it or go straight pipe which makes them very loud and then you don't have a dust ejector so it's got a perforated hood i don't know if somebody did that that was an afterthought an abortion i don't know where is that cat i do not know anyway she's got a bad oil leak here i guess it's i don't know what it's spewing out of looks like a ram oh boy yeah so we need a new hydraulic cylinder on this side for sure probably one here it's got a good undercarriage really good undercarriage so for what i paid for it you know i paid less for this than i would a new undercarriage if that tells you anything and i still you know i'm not going to change the oil and go to work i can see that right now and i knew that going into this so we may be tilting the cab back and working on steering clutches and whatever else in there i got a bent fender that usually comes from a broken track bolt falling out of the tank hold down so yeah she needs some tlc got one leaking ram over there on the ripper the rest of them are dry that one's got a new head oh that one's scratchy that don't feel good probably gonna be doing a lot of cylinder work chroming got a nice oil leak going on right there that's probably coming out of this yeah that chrome over there on that one's bad huh it's not coming out of the ram it's like it's coming out of the seal where the head bolts down so like i said needs some work got a sloppy track on this side i don't know what's going on there recoil spring piston in the adjuster mechanism who knows yeah she's all the way against the end of the stop probably the piston and it was set up for a slight uh slope board at one time i don't know what they've been pushing on but it was something big and they bent the tar out of that holy cow messed up the dozer a wee bit don't believe i've ever seen one that bent needs a little wax a little polish a little mother's polish oh well should be a honey when i get her fixed up won't it so the niner got a bath last night and uh if you remember when it came in the blade was just covered in oil and grease and they actually had a diaper in there right there so judging from the new hoses here i'm gonna say that it was spraying oil everywhere and they were too lazy or something to uh fix the hoses so they put a diaper there i i've never seen a dozer on the backside of it covered with so much oil but upon inspection uh there ain't a piece of chrome on this thing that's any good every chrome ram is gonna have to come off either get replaced or re-chromed they're in bad shape and over there on the other side you can see the wiper seal is out of the head and clear at the bottom of the ram anyway cleaned up the inside of the cab uh supposed to have a new final on this side now these three cylinders here here don't show any signs of leakage but um over here on this side i can show you it's pretty messed up right there anyway that one and that one have new heads on it but the chrome's not in good shape and the seals are really bad old and cracked so uh the next plan i think is to tip the canopy back and go after everything under there where the steering clutches are it doesn't steer very well let me rephrase that it doesn't steer with a dam anyway it stinks like diesel feel really bad under there so cat used a hard line from the tank up front and they always wear a hole in them so i always replace them with a rubber hose so probably have to replace that anyway there isn't a hose on here that's any good every hose on this thing the rubber is coming off so we'll need a complete hose job and uh it doesn't like i said it doesn't it's not steering very well so whether it's an adjustment issue or whether i'm going to be pulling steering clutches and putting brake bands on i don't know yet but probably going to drop belly pans and inspect everything cleaning everything out make sure all my suction lines are in good shape you know give it the really good once over
