well it's been a couple of weeks since I posted a video I've got a whole bunch of a footage to post I keep forgetting to edit it I've been working a lot of lot of hours so figure out how to include this video I'll probably post this and before I did the other one I think this be much more interesting video but I've got a cat 933 C which I think this is the same as a d2 or d3 somebody's probably gonna correct me maybe I think it's a d3 so I've already done a little Diagnostics on this and I really haven't done anything so far that you can't figure out on your own you know if you're doing this kind of work you should be able to figure out all don't take the seat off a seat bracket and some covers off and that's the only mechanic work that I've done so what this dude is doing is it's not it's not driving I've done a little cleaning down here but I've got a pressure washer to clean the rest of it off so the way you drive a dozer those're doesn't have a steering wheel or anything or even levers whenever you start a dozer up you put it in a gear it just drops straight and the only way you have to control it as you can press your left break that disengages your track on the left side and applies a break so that way this track over here moves and turns you or you play you know the same thing on the right one you just get in get you power there's a clutch in here and over here which this is why we're out here but you press the pedal on the right same thing disengages the right track applies a brake the left one still gets power so you turn well this right side is getting no power so if you're operating it it's going it will move along straight but if you hit that pedal right there it just stops if I hit the pedal on the right nothing happens it just keeps going so that tells me that not only is the brake on this side messed up but the clutch is messed up it's kind of hard to explain I might actually like add a diagram to kind of explain it but a real quick rundown you've got a transmission up here there's a driveshaft weight on there that you can barely see right there they go and that goes into this differential so does differential they call it a bevel gear same exact principle as your differential on a car and there's like a ring and pinion in here the axle shaft and an axle shaft now the only difference is that actual chef doesn't go all the way through it's got a set of clutches on it kind of like a motorcycle clutch to where you can actually disengage it and the pinion keeps turning but the outside shaft doesn't and it's also got a break on the outside that clamps down on it so like I said I'll make a diagram about it and add it to this video and kind of give you guys an explanation we'll see you'll see a little bit better what I'm talking about but two things happen like I said it disengages the when you press these pedals it disengages the brake and already applies the brake and disengages the clutches so you can see there's two different ones moving right now okay so this cylinder that's all nice and clean and that one's the one is still dirty these are your steering cylinders so when you push this it applies hydraulic pressure through that line down into the the case down here there's a little hydraulic cylinder that pushes out and that actually disengages the clutch so and this one applies your brake band so you want to make sure you have these adjusted right and I'll go through that adjustment procedure but something I did notice instead of know if you can tell it on camera or not but this whole whole valve is loose somebody's replaces valve one time they didn't put all the bolts back in which happens quite a bit something too has a little tip for you guys if you having this problem where you're having to push down in a brake pedal extremely hard to get this to go there's a little pivot in here let's little cam this cam wears out and when you have to push the pedal really really hard it takes up a lot of the space is the reason I can't apply so hard so if you're having a wedding and getting kind of trouble with this is the first thing you want to check but say this valve is new no that one over there is probably a little worn but I'll take this valve off and I'll show you the little deal I'm talking about but what I'm going to do first is fire up my pressure washer I have to get all this jump off of everything all this mud get it all cleaned up and that might be all I get done today but something about working on heavy equipment is a lot of times you play paleontologist because then you got to dig through mud and find dinosaurs and something else I'm going to do is you can see somebody's really good effective job of putting a battery terminal on which is absolutely atrocious listen to I'm gonna put some new ends on it and probably not even charge the guy for it I just did bothers me when I see that stuff I'll probably charge him for the ends not charging for the actual labor to do it cuz it'll be quick but I'm gonna break out the pressure washer it's in the back of my truck my low water tank and hopefully I can clean all this crap out and get to going but to get all this stuff out you got to take this hydraulic you know not hold you upside down here you got to take this hydraulic fluid tank out you got to take the diesel tank out I think I'm gonna have to pull this canopy off this dude are they coming to call it the ROPS is that rollover preventer so if it rolls over you and you're in a cab and hopefully you got your seat belt on it doesn't roll over on top of you well anyway I'll start washing you you all right so we got it a lot cleaner I might end up going getting some more water but it looks better you can actually see yellow now so I'm going to take out this bar which is a ball tear bolt over here a couple of bolts there and right there and there I'm taking out this plate it's the battery hold-down plate right here take it out which should be these bolts these four holes right there take those out and I'm gonna see if I can maybe do this job without taking all the tanks off hopefully I can taking these tanks off and the Rob's gonna be a lot of work so anyway I'm going to take these off alright so we're back on the 933 I got the caterpillar over there parked I got the caterpillar are the whole skid-steer they're running starts up runs but it's got a code and I got to wait for my laptop to come up tomorrow somebody else using it right now so we're back on this dude all I've done is I took out those two hoses alright they went from there to there and they're there I took off that line and that line I took off the rod it goes from here to there and I should tell them with a clevis with the cotter pin through it now I'm going to take off the steering hydraulic valve and it's held in with the three here's the nut our bolt right there is a bolt over there and then one back over here then that whole valve comes off so I'm going to take that off I think they're 1/2 inch maybe see here little small there okay looks like a 13 millimeter so I'm gonna take those Thirteen's off and we'll pull that valve off alright so got the steering valve out let's take out that one in there now we need to take that bolt town go take these four bolts out take this park break I know what you call that little housing off and take the risk those bolts off they're all three quarter inch head or nineteen millimeters so pop them off then hopefully I can get that panel out there without taking this freakin hydraulic tank off to show you that a steering valve what it looks like so you can look down in there grab a screwdriver here so there's a little cam hasn't done been messed up so I have to fix that if you can tell that on the camera without me pulling it off but there's a big flat spot and that dude kind of see it up right there there you go now you can see it that rollers have to be replaced and I'm sure the other one on the other side get that beer place but that roller and then this whole bar here is worn down so something else I'll stick on the parts lid you
